The youngest of two boys, Rabstan and his older brother RODOLPHUS LESTRANGE [sibling], were born in Lestrange Manor in Gloucestershire to their doing parents Marlie and Thiebuat Lestrange. From a long lineage of French and British sorcerers, their family commanded respect from the wizarding community, as key figures in their community. Marie Lestranged adored him and his brother unlike any other and his childhood was nothing less than romantic. Although told to them in indylic setting, Rabstan and his brother knew that their family legacy was incredibly important and that his parents had done a great deal to protect it, a job which would one day pass to him and Rodolphus. Raised as perfect gentlemen, on the arm of his mother, Rabastan attended glittering balls and parties held by his parents and their families, watching as they all vied for attention from his parents and the Black’s. Rabastan’s eyes were always carefully trained on those around him, watching every quirk and quiver. His quiet disposition helped with that. It was clear that even amongst The Twenty-Eight, there was a very clear hierarchy.

As such, Rabastan made it a priority to befriend the younger Black sisters. ANDROMEDA BLACK [friend] was in his year at school and when he was sorted into Slytherin alongside her. Other names made the list of great importance, including ADRASTEIA GREENGRASS [friend], ROSALIE FLINT [friend], XERXES ZABINI [best friend], CAIUS BURKE [close friend] and KERVENS BORGIN [close friend]. To the surprise of those who had known him in childhood, Rabastan gained a bit of a reputation as a bully whilst at Hogwarts, slyly letting his opinions on Muggle-Borns, Half-Blood and creatures be known, He was intelligent, making sure that when he targeted the likes of EDWARD TONKS [adversary] and his band of blood traitors like AMELIA BONES [victim/former adversary], it was in a way that had no merit for him to be turned in. Amongst the safety of his friendship group he would remark that he had much rather gone to Durmstrang, much to the enthusiasm of some of his friends, including AURELIA ROOKWOOD [close friend/potential romantic laison] and the silent disgust of others like LUCINDA TALKALOT [former friend/acquaintence].

Overhearing his opinions whilst at school, Rodolphus was always careful to pull his brother aside and speak with him. Although they were raised purists, his mother and father had worked very hard to maintain a neutral public facing image due to his father’s political career, that he wanted for Rabastan and Rodolphus. The idea of staying silent about their beliefs was a difficult one for Rabastan, who watched his brother’s friends BELLATRIX BLACK [close friend/mentor] and EVAN ROSIER [close friend] speak their minds and publicly humiliate those who dared to speak out of turn. That was when the rage started. Despite their lineage and their influence they were made to attend muggle studies, pretend that people with pure-blood were as brilliant as them, it was almost too much to stomach some days for Rabastan. Bellatrix took notice of this, approaching him with an important task. A wizard known only to her as THE DARK LORD [leader] had tasked her with spreading his message and gathering followers. It was the calling Rabastan had waited for and slowly he began selecting people to spread his message to, starting with his best friend Xerxes and his close friend Walden.

Rabastan became quite closed off in his later years and friends would remark that he had now become irritable and someone they no longer recognised. Upon graduating, Rabastan declined his father’s offer to help him get a job at the Ministry. Though he couldn’t tell him his plans, he needed to be out in society making connections and told his parents it was under the guise of finding him a partner to marry. Having previusly dated ROSALINE DAVIS [former partner] which ended swiftly after school ended, he was encouraged to court NARCISSA BLACK [close friend] when she had entered society, she was close friend of his. Rabastan wondered if a man of his aspirations would be enough for a woman who longed to be adored. To society, he played the role of a quiet eligible bachelor, always attending the best parties with the most attractive people and knowing he would be photographed. Then through the back he would slip away, down the alley to The White Wyvern where he, Bellatrix and Evan would be deep in conversation about The Dark Lord’s plans. Years of devotion to Bellartrix and the cause had paid off who had risen through the ranks to become Bellatrix’s right hand man.

The Dark Lord’s plan to turn sorcerers and creatures against one another to strengthen their ranks was of great importance, but Rabastan’s temper and enthusiasm for the cause have marked him in the ranks as someone who is a bit of a loose cannon. It was his idea to recruit werewolf SILAS CRUMP [adversary] without doing some stricter background checks that would have found he’d never abandon his partner and child. Him losing his temper at BOOKER BAGNOLD [victim] at Halloween on 1982, was not part of their overarching plan, but even he was impressed at how he and Bellatrix managed to frame Silas for Booker’s murder, playing off to The Dark Lord it had been their plan all along to create mass panic. Rabastan’s issue however, was that as the Booker Bagnold incident was not pre-planned, it left a lot of holes for people to catch him out, with the pressure mounting as people began to suspect Silas’ innocence. Amelia Bones was a constant pain in Rabastan’s side, a nosey little witch he’d hated since school who refused to let the events of Halloween go.

When she finally accused him at The Summer Solstice ball in 1983, Rabastan knew her time had come. JAE MULICBER [friend] turning into CLAUDETTE TREMBLAY [person of interest] to kill her was the best way it could have ended, but even Rabastan was ashamed he had let the anger get the better of him. When Rodolphus cornered him about his involvment in her death, he didn’t have the heart to lie. Despite not liking the pressure it put his brother under, Rabastan was relieved to have him in corner- watching him actively throwing the case of Silas Crump and getting him sent to Azkaban for the killing of Booker and he and REGULUS BLACK [friend] frame MASON TREMBLAY [person of interest] for the death of Amelia. Seemingly having gotten away with his violence, Rabastan has been trying to lie low and has prove to Bellatrix he can keep his anger in check. Ready to be entrusted with the next mission, Rabastan is ready to move on with his life, conscious that his brother might make an excellent addition to their enterprise and a trained eye out for anyone who might begin to suspect Rodolphus has already made a leap to the dark side.

Booker Bagnold was a truly remarkable individual, whose kind and loyal nature endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His heart was so deep and giving that it was impossible for him to stop spreading inspiration wherever he went. The younger child of MILLICENT BAGNOLD [mother], the then-Senior Undersecretary to The Minister for Magic, and Rutherford Bagnold, a wizarding tech genius, Booker's childhood was one of pure bliss. Although his older brother, HARRISON BAGNOLD [sibling], was a bit of a brooder and didn't spend much time with him, Booker still held him in high regard. They lived in a modern home in Wimbledon, and Booker cherished his room – his safe space – which had a breathtaking view of the green belt that ran behind their house. He would spend hours gazing out the window, watching the animals frolic in the forest and occasionally catching sight of a magical creature. The Bagnold family had a penchant for travel, and they frequently embarked on adventures to international Quidditch games and Millicent's birthplace in Ireland.

During the summer holiday before Booker was set to embark on his first year at Hogwarts, he vividly recalled a conversation with Harrison. The latter was preparing for an event, and let out a heavy sigh before revealing that when he was Booker's age, their parents were hardly ever present in his life. Unlike Booker, he was compelled to attend numerous events and they never went on any trips together. However, Harrison pointed out that their parents had a complete change of heart after Booker's birth. Booker, being the compassionate person he was, tried to consolidate him, but despite his efforts Harrison vehemently disagreed, insisting that their parents simply loved Booker more. Unfortunately, this remark struck a chord with Booker, and he began to feel guilty for how his parents treated him. Booker began to blame himself for Harrison not having the same childhood experiences as him and became more in on himself in their presence, declining their offers to enjoy himself instead standing by his brother’s side dutifully in the hope to make it up to him.

Sorted into Hufflepuff, he was ushered to his dorm deep within the castle. It was there that he met his soon-to-be best friend, EDWARD TONKS [best friend], they connected instantly and their friendship stayed strong throughout Hogwarts and into adulthood. Being a loyal friend, along with his disliking of injustice, Booker often found himself standing up for Ted against bullies like RABASTAN LESTRANGE [adversary] and his group of friends, CAIUS BURKE [adversary], XERXES ZABINI [adversary], AURELIA ROOKWOOD [adversary] and KERVENS BORGIN [adversary]. His stance and advocacy lead to him making other friends along the way including ELIZABETH BRAITHWAITE [close friend], MARIANNE MACMILLAN [friend], LAURENCE ABBOTT [friend], and CELIA ABBOTT [friend/potential love interest]. But he found a real friend in LANA CROUCH [best friend] though his interests. He saw a lot of himself in Lana, she was a bright girl lost in a big family trying to find her way, which he noticed she did when she began taking an interest in magical creatures, much to Booker’s delight. When he wasn’t caring for magical creatures in the forest with Hagrid or reading up on them in the library with Lana, he was pouring himself over Celia, their relationship blossoming into something more than just a friendship.

Booker Bagnold's infatuation with Celia lingered beyond the walls of Hogwarts, and into their twenties. Meanwhile, Booker's passion for magical creatures had paid off, and he landed a position in the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures alongside Lana, and it wasn’t long before Booker found himself in the being division which dealt with magical creatures that possessed human-like intellect, including werewolves, vampires, giants, and centaurs. However, Booker was quickly disillusioned by the rampant discrimination he encountered in the wizarding community towards these creatures. He was appalled by the way his colleagues, like WALDEN MCNAIR [adversary] treated injured werewolves and altered centaur testimonies to fit the wizarding community's expectations. These creatures were sentient beings who deserved to be treated with respect and dignity, and Booker reported these incidents to Aurors such as HESTIA JONES [acquaintance] and barristers like RODOLPHUS LESTRANGE [acquaintance]. Unfortunately, their responses were unsatisfactory, always too busy to listen to him and tied up in other projects. Soon Booker realised that he needed to take more drastic measures to aid magical beings in the wizarding community.

Fortunately, his mother had been appointed Minister for Magic at this time, and he arranged a meeting with her to voice his concerns and suggestions. While she was receptive, she requested that Booker gather the signatures required for the Wizengamot to consider a law that prohibited the discrimination of magical beings in the wizarding community. She warned him that not everyone would share his views, and he would need to gather a significant number of signatures. Booker began by approaching his colleagues, but while some refused to sign, such as Walden, while others signed without hesitation. He then turned to his friends, including Celia. To his surprise, Celia disagreed with his views, which caused their budding romance to falter. Despite this setback, Booker remained committed to his mission to make the wizarding community more inclusive, collecting as many signatures as he could. The night of the Halloween ball in 1982 is when Booker's tale came to its tragic end. Booker moved through the ballroom with vigour, trying to persuade as many guests as possible to sign his petition. The pure-bloods snarled at him, and those who were aware of his intentions avoided him. His brother, was particularly angry at Booker bringing his petition, snatching it from him and ripping it up in front of his very eyes.

Enraged, Booker fled the ballroom, smacking into Rabastan Lestrange upon his exit to the balcony by mistake. Always game for a fight, Rabastan quickly dug his teeth into Booker, mocking him and his cause and a wand battle broke out between the two. As Rabastan wiped blood from the corner of his mouth, Booker noticed something change in his face. Before Booker could even call for help, Rabastan cast a spell that tore a ferocious, werewolf-like gash through his chest. The world fell silent as he tumbled over the balcony railing, with the wind rushing past him and screams echoing through the air, narrowly missing MARLENE MCKINNON [potential love interest] who he had hoped to meet later that evening for a kiss and a dance in the darkness. After his untimely death, Rabastan framed SILAS CRUMP [acquaintance] for the murder. As the mystery surrounding Booker's death unfolded, his petition lay neglected on Harrison’s desk, pieced back together, gathering dust as the ink slowly faded from its pages. Would his legacy perish with him, or would someone pick up the mantle of his cause, fighting for the rights and equality of creatures in the wizarding world?

Ajax Davis has always been a strong character, though as he’s grown older, his once admirable trait has become a cause of concern for his family. The middle child of his family Ajax has always felt shielded by his older sister CORDELIA DAVIS [sibling] who has felt the majority of their parents expectations. The Davis family own Moribund’s, an exclusive club in Knockturn Alley, their grandparents had founded when they moved over from Ireland. Moribund’s was their trump card, placing them a head and shoulders above other pure-blood families that weren’t in the Sacred Twenty-Eight and ensuring those who were, respected them. For as long as Ajax could remember, his sister was groomed to take over the club. For Ajax, their plans were simple. Find himself a fine partner, preferably from the Twenty Eight to strengthen the Davis bloodline and produce an heir. Whilst Cordelia was expected to work to keep their family in credit, Ajax was to live off the money and strengthen them socially, which of course sounded fun to most young boys. His path in life was somewhat enviable, though Cordelia never spoke out of turn and did everything their family asked.

His younger sister ROSALINE DAVIS [sibling] had full ownership of being the difficult family member. Like Ajax, Rosaline was expected to marry well and become a socialite, but it was quite clear she wasn’t going to tow the line. His sister had great plans of being an artist and under blanket forts and in quiet moments between lessons she’d urge him to think bigger. She’d ask him where he wanted to go and what he wanted to see, but the truth of the matter was Ajax didn’t know. Like most young boys he loved Quidditch, a career in sports seemed dreamlike to him, but with his parents standing he knew they’d never go for him having a job at all let alone one in Quidditch. A departure from family tradition, Ajax was sorted into Ravenclaw, a blessing in disguise as he was away from the watchful eye of his older sister. Ajax quickly found his footing in Ravenclaw, befriending fellow Quidditch enthusiasts, TARAN POWELL [best friend], ZAFIR JAMEEL [best friend] and DANAE ALTON [best friend/potential love interest]. The group were known for being attractive and jock-like, with a light air of snobbery that only seemed dimmed due to a rival Ravenclaw group in their year who believed they ruled the roost.

KERVENS BORGIN [rival] was also part of the Ravenclaw team, though he spent all of his time with CAIUS BURKE [rival], RABASTAN LESTRANGE [rival] and XERXES ZABINI [rival], which irritated him. Although being friends with other houses was acceptable, as the future captain of the team, Ajax wanted some level of solidarity between the team and was conscious that Kerevens was the kind of person with loose lips that might leak their strategies. Danae in particular believed he was paranoid and that his suspicions were rooted in jealousy, due to a long standing candle he held for Kerevens close friend. AURELIA ROOKWOOD [partner] had been the object of Ajax’s affection for as long as he could remember. Aurelia was the most beautiful girl he had ever met and Ajax had accepted long ago she probably wouldn’t want anything to do with him. Although he thought incredibly highly of himself, Aurelia carried herself in such a way people had suspected she might have Veela blood. She made him nervous, uncomfortable and excited, the only person to ever throw him off his game and make him suspect that perhaps relationships and marriage did not have to be advantageous after all.

Despite being a half-blood, he was confident there was no better woman on earth than her and not even the most reasonable person could make him reconsider. His best friends of course hated her. Aurelia, like Kerevens, spent the majority of her time with the popular Slytherin group and regularly partook in putting other people down and the occasional wicked prank. Danae in particular despised her, which was incredibly hurtful for him. Entering into the world as a gentleman, Ajax was forced to hang up his broom and captain’s badge to join society, rubbing shoulders with all the people he didn’t care much for at school. His mother would regularly try and set him up with the likes of ANDROMEDA BLACK [acquaintance] and ROSALIE FLINT [acquaintance] but none of them quite seemed to stick. To get his mother off his back, he enjoyed a long courtship with ADRASTEIA GREENGRASS [former partner], whom he had known from school and did in fact find her to be quite pleasant. Adrasteia had big ideas of leaving society and starting her own bar, secretly mixing drinks for Moribund’s rival Eternelle's Elixir of Refreshment behind her family’s back. Over dinner they’d sit and discuss what their life could be like together.

Now his older sister Cordelia had run off, they’d be running Moribund’s together and Ajax could even maybe try out for a Quidditch team while he was still young and talented. He could have been happy with Adrasteia had he really truly tried, but Ajax found the siren’s call all too loud and sadly for them both he was powerless to ignore it. For Ajax falling in love with Aurelia was like diving into the ocean, tentative at first but then all in. They began dating under Adreasteia’s nose, sneaking around with one another in a scandalous sordid affair. Adrasteia soon became suspicious and called off their engagement. Her leaving was something of a relief to him, with his family already in tatters as it was. His sister had run off to follow her dreams and his father had run off to be with a twenty-five year old. Everyone in his family was finally trying to live their lives according to themselves and it was about time he did also. She convinced him to follow his passions, past the age of being able to play Quidditch he was best off working for The British and Irish League at the Ministry.

Ajax applied and secured his current position, managing all the paper work of the award and scholarship programs that are held in the association. Though it didn’t seem all that impressive, he was fairly senior for his first job and enjoyed working with hopeful players. His mother wasn’t happy he’d gotten a job and she was even less happy when his engagement to a beautiful girl from the sacred Twenty-Eight went up in smoke. Single with his own money Ajax decided to take the leap and go public with Aurelia. He was happy, his mother was outraged and his sister Rosaline was even less happy now that the family name was squarely on her shoulders. Ignoring his family wishes was liberating and despite alienating himself from his mother and most of his friends who thought he was an idiot, he was happy with Aurelia. But old habits die hard and Ajax isn’t positive she’s quit her old ways. A former flirtatious girl with a man’s heart always firm in her grip, Aurelia isn’t a stranger to coming home late and often she doesn’t smell of her own perfume. Ajax is suspicious that the love of his life might be straying from him, but little does he know - an affair is the least of his worries.
