Honestly? I don’t have as much disdain or criticism for Bryke as many others in the fandom, and I feel neutrally about most canon ships. But when given the choice, I will ALWAYS choose my non canon ships over canon (except for Sukka)

Tell me about some recent ships you've discovered, what you like about their dynamics (ooh and maybe some favorite romance tropes!), anything that comes to mind!!

Ships I Discovered since Valentine’s Day Last Year:

This is around when I started my Tumblr actually!

-Literally all of the Six ships. I learned about those about a year ago. That’s KatAnna (my favorite!), Parrlyn, Aralyn, and Aramour! Those are the four I’ve written for anyway.

-Also all of the WATT ships! Kateva, Clarkleigh, and Cheerwives (another favorite!) and then later Mattasha and all of the fandom pairings: Checkate, Caileigh, and Chai!

-Hadestown and Great Comet ships! Orphydice, Persades, Maryalene, Sonya/Mary, and Anatole/Dolokhov.

This is becoming a list of my past year’s fandoms and the ships from them.

-SPOP! I love this show so much even though Azula is my icon it may have been my favorite show of the past year! So there was Catradora (favorite SUCH a favorite! I was on that train from day one!), Glimbow, Scorfuma, Seamista, and Spinnetossa! Recently I’ve also discovered that there’s a lot of Glitra stans following me, so I’ve started looking at some of that content too!

- ATLA ships! The canon ones first as I was watching it, so Sokka/Yue and Sukka, and then Kataang at the end. And of course, the amazing fandom gayness! Zukka, Tyzula (favorite!), and Yueki:) Also Mailee because even though I’m a Tyzula stan I still love it.

-In the same vain, TLOK. Korrasami is another favorite, obviously, but there’s also Kainora, Bopal (did I get that name right?), Kyalin, and Wuko!

-I don’t know if they have ship names but Cassia/Grace, Adelaide/Beatrice, Clover/Kennedy, and Solar/Nova from the Averno musicals!

-And finally, we have what I’m currently watching, The Owl House, and LUMITY YAY I LOVE THEM!!

Wow so many great ships this year!

Favorite Romantic Tropes:

-Romantic rescuing. Easily my favorite. I have loved it ever since I was a kid. It is amazing and sweet and I live for it.

-Similar vain, romantic SACRIFICE. This can go hand in hand with romantic rescuing and it makes it THAT MUCH MORE EMOTIONAL!

-Enemies to lovers. There is development and tension and I absolutely love it.

-I don’t like it as much as enemies to lovers, but Childhood Friends to Lovers can be just so cute.

-Mutual pining idiots.

-One of the characters being the only one the other character really opens up to.

-Cute nicknames.

I just like romance okay?
