Do any of the children have nightmares?
Oh most definitely. Mona used to have terrible nightmares as a kid, Lumen also had to deal with those. Nardo rarely dreams or remembers any dreams tho. Simo and Nora have nightmares of varying degrees of intensity.

This is sort of old news but i’m not sure if a lot of people heard about it so i thought i’d share. At the end of October a bunch of celebrities signed a letter to Joe Biden thanking him for his position on supporting Israel. The letter is cloaked in euphemistic language but the point of its message is to urge the US govt against a ceasefire and to continue stoking the fires of genocide. The signatories have waived the benefit of the doubt — these celebrities are signing off on genocide. Here is the letter, and here are a few names on it that are notable particularly for tumblr audiences:
Amy Sherman Palladino, Aubrey Plaza, Chris Pine, Eric Andre, Jack Black, Jeff Goldblum, Juliette Lewis, Katy Perry, Lana del Rey, Regina Spektor, Stephen Fry, Taika Waititi, Will Ferrell
On the other hand, there is also a letter signed by many celebrities that calls for a ceasefire. The letter is here, and here are some notable names:
Amandla Stenberg, America Ferrera, Andrew Garfield, Cate Blanchett, Dua Lipa, Florence Pugh, Frank Ocean, Hari Nef, Indya Moore, Janelle Monae, Jenna Ortega, Kehlani, Kristen Stewart, Lupita Nyong’o, Mark Ruffalo, Misha Collins, Oscar Isaac, Ruth Negga, Sandra Oh, Tessa Thompson, Zayn Malik
Strangely a few people, including Ewan McGregor, Kirsten Dunst, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and Jordan Peele have signed both letters and I don’t know what to make of that. It’s possible that they signed the anti-ceasefire letter (which is dated 10/23) first and have since switched their stance, but that’s not clarified anywhere.

It's time for Beginnings, the podcast where writer and performer Andy Beckerman talks to the comedians, writers, filmmakers and musicians he admires about their earliest creative experiences and the numerous ways in which a creative life can unfold.
Tumblr media
On today's episode I talk to actress and musician Aleksa Palladino. Originally form New York, Aleksa got her start acting as a teenager, performing opposite Scarlett Johansson in the movie Manny and Lo. Since then, she's acted in numerous films, most notably Storytelling, Mona Lisa Smile, and Before the Devil Knows You're Dead, Sidney Lumet's last film, as well as a ton of TV shows, which includes regular roles in Boardwalk Empire, Rogue, and Halt and Catch Fire, as well as the new CBS All Access show One Dollar which just premiered. Aleksa is also one-half of the band Exitmusic, and their latest album The Recognitions was released earlier this year on Felte Records.
I'm on Twitter here and you can get the show with:

While the most amount of books that I’ve ever read in one year, 2018 has been a year where I’ve also felt that I turned to TV and movies more than usual. To be considered a 2018 favorite, the TV show or movie had to come out or have new episodes this year. However, because catching up with ALL the shows & movies are just as difficult as keeping up with all the new shiny book releases, I do have some honorable mentions that didn’t come this year.
TV:
Brooklyn Nine-Nine S1-S5 (FOX/NBC)- I’m only slightly cheating with Brooklyn Nine-Nine here because Season 5 did air in 2018 and I did catch up on the first four seasons in time to watch S5 on air. B99 filled in the Parks & Recreation hole in my heart that I didn’t know needed to be fixed. This show is just so freaking funny and gets better and better with every season. I am so happy for S6 to premiere on NBC (!!) on January 10, 2019.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel S1 & S2 (Amazon Prime)- Again only a little cheating here, since S1 aired in 2017 and while S2 aired in 2018. I started The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel on a whim this summer. It’s one of the shows you don’t realize how much you love until you realize you binge-watched it in three days and then feel like you need the next season NOW. While it is quite different than Gilmore Girls, you can find very similar GG touches by Amy Sherman Palladino in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
Dynasty S1 & S2 (CW)- One always needs some cheesy TV in their life and the CW always come to the rescue for me. This year it was Dynasty, the reboot of a 1980s soap opeara, featuring Elizabeth Gillies. Dynasty has a ton of drama and a tons of episode for me to binge-watch, courtesy of Netflix.
Outdaughtered S4 (TLC)- I’m a huge fan of homey reality TV shows, with my favorite for 2018 being Outdaughtered. Outdaughtered follows a Texas family who has America’s first set of all-female quintuplets. This show is just so hilariously adorable and I need more in 2019 please.
Sugar Rush (Netflix)- I love being able to cozy up with a good baking show at home, and I wanted to have the same feeling at school. Sugar Rush is a fun & unique take on typical competition baking, and it definitely inspired some weekend baking of my own.
The Bold Type S2 (Freeform)- The Bold Type is easily Freeform’s best show, following three best friends working in the magazine and journalism world in NYC. I especially loved the S2 finale (yay Sutton!) and I’m a bit sad that S3 may be its last.
  Movies:
To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before (Netflix)- Like many of my fellow book nerds, there’s no denying that the film adaptation of To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before was my favorite 2018 film. The TATBILB series is one of my all-time favorite book series and I am beyond happy with how this book translated on to screen. I also got to see Peter K on this big screen, being lucky enough to attend an advance screening!
A Star is Born (WB)- With Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper as its stars, I think I went into A Star is Born with high expectations, but this movie totally delivered! I’m even more obsessed with the soundtrack!
  Honorable Mentions:
Friday Night Lights (NBC/Amazon Prime)- While I am a sports person, I admit that the last show I expected to fall in love with this year was Friday Night Lights. I was in need of a new show to watch easily at school and decided to give FNL a go. FNL is a show that I just didn’t want to  be over, and while much of the show is about small-town Texas life, I’m so proud of how much I’ve learned about football!
The Handmaid’s Tale Season 1 (Hulu)- Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale is one of the best books that I ever read for school, and I really enjoyed the first season of its Hulu adaptation. I felt it stayed close enough to the book while adding different content that overall made sense. I have started season 2, however, I’m just not as it into as S1.
Zumbo’s Just Desserts (Netflix)- Again give me ALL the baking shows (and a second season of Zumbo’s Just Desserts, please).
The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina S1 (Netflix)- Even though it’s quite different from Sabrina the Teenage Witch, I enjoyed The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina much more than expected, considering how disappointed I’ve been by Riverdale.
The Good Place S1-S2 (NBC)- While I don’t get the same feels as I do while watching Parks & Rec and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Good Place is another great comedy. I really appreciate its complexity AND phenomenal cast. I can’t really speak to S3 too much, since I’ve only seen the first three episodes, but I love Adam Scott as a recurring character.
Mona Lisa Smile – I’m a huge fan of ’80s & ’90s movies/ basically any “throwback” starring Julia Roberts. While its from the early 2000s, Mona Lisa Smile totally stole my heart this past spring, as the movie follows an art history professor at an all-girls college who tries to show her students there’s more to life than finding the perfect guy.
Ocean’s Eight– As a big fan of Ocean’s Eleven, this female-led adaptation made my movie heart so happy. While it wasn’t 100% perfect, I loved Ocean’s Eight cast so much and I wouldn’t mind its own trilogy.
The Greatest Showman– So I was (a month) late to 2017’s The Greatest Showman, seeing it in theaters back in January. I’m still 100% obsessed with its soundtrack and you better believe I bought it on DVD for all the rewatches.
What are you favorite 2018 TV shows and movies? Share in the comments!
COMEDY & MORE: Favorite 2018 TV & Movies While the most amount of books that I've ever read in one year, 2018 has been a year where I've also felt that I turned to TV and movies more than usual.

The city on a hill lay shining from her balcony, car taillights, streetlamps and the Citgo sign illuminating her face like she had cracked open a chest of gold. Boston, maybe more than any city in the country, was a place where the lines were blurred between those who ruled by gavel and those who ruled by force. That, of course, wouldn't do at all. She hadn't come up beating the shit out of any of her brother's friends who said a girl couldn't run with their gang just for the real power to end up with some fat septuagenarian Irish fuck who gave her the same consideration as some old man waiting outside his office to complain about the neighbor's cat. She looked down at the city that gave the world both John Adams and Whitey Bulger and thought, if I'm not meant to hold all this in my hand, why give me this view?

Bob and Helen's children know the Caridad and Simon children?
While Bob and Simon didn’t have much chances at hanging out, the Palladino kids actually do run across the Parr kids. Though with their age differences, none of them are in the same batch.
Mona - 18
Lumen and Nardo - 16
Violet Parr - 14
Dash Parr - 10
Simo - 9
Nora - 7

How is the clothing of each of the children?
Mona: Neo-Edwardian or Neo-Victorian (she has a fondness for old fashion because of how pretty the designs are)
Tumblr media
Nardo: Street fashion, prefers leather jackets
Tumblr media
Lumen: Artsy fashion
Tumblr media
Simo: This outfit (since he’s still young, I think he’d be experimenting with his aesthetic until he figures out what he likes)
Tumblr media
Nora: She likes preppy sweet stuff so most likely something like this

You mention that Mona can remember every little detail and things in a very meticulous way, that means that it is a power or that it is about Childhood Alzheimer's ?
It's a power. :3

I am aware that Simon and Caridad as a couple share a room (or not?); But do any of the children share a room with another?
Simon and Caridad do sleep in the same room! As for the kids, it's actually just Nardo and Lumen who share a room since putting Simo and Nora together is not a good idea and Mona prefers silence while she studies. Nardo and Lumen tend to adjust to the other's needs accordingly and if one needs noise, they'll ramble, if one needs silence, they'll be quiet while they work. :3

How much magnification does Simon need in his glasses? Did any of the children inherit his father's myopia?
He's pretty near sighted but not bad enough he needs glasses 24/7. He just prefers to wear them most of the time! Mona is the only one that ended up having to wear thick glasses though Lumen is starting to need contacts since she works on a lot of things late into the night

Are any of the children part of the LGBT community?
Mona - Undefined. She doesn’t see the point of defining what she identifies as and goes with whatever will be will be. If she finds someone attractive that’s that. Attends Pride marches with her siblings in support.
Lumen - Lesbian. Found out when she was twelve after she played the wicked stepsister in a Cinderella play and she found herself crushing hard on their Cinderella. Came out to Caridad and Simon at fifteen though her parents already knew.
Nardo - Bisexual. Fully out ever since he was fourteen and knew about his sexual orientation ever since he was ten. Doesn’t see much point in dwelling on what he identifies as and didn’t think too much of it until Lumen expressed her worries about her own sexual orientation to him. Wanting to help his twin, he decided to show her nothing wrong will happen and came out to their parents shortly after.
Simo - Heterosexual.
Nora - Undefined.

You mentioned that Simon was seriously injured shortly before the twins were born; How was that or what was the reason that he got hurt there?
It’s a supervillain that got out of prison who still held a grudge. Simon wasn’t really expecting the ambush and he was following the law by calling the police but then after the villain entered a home, he decided to take a risk and save the people there. An altercation took place and he was injured, when he woke he was in the hospital with Caridad fretting over him and little Mona sleeping on the windowseat of the hospital room he was in.

With whom of their parents does each child identify the most, with mom or dad? Who does "Mona" identify with the most?Who identifies more with "Nardo", "Lumen" "simo" , "Nora"?
Mona is the closest to Simon and the two would spend hours together debating on stuff after Mona showed an interest in debates. The two also have quiet moments where they read books together.
Nardo actually identifies more with his great-grandfather on his mom’s side that everytime they visit the Philippines, he eagerly volunteers to help with the farm. He also goes fishing with his great-grandfather.
Lumen is closer to Caridad and she’s showing interest in stage stuff namely she’s eyeing the role of stage manager. She likes watching plays even though she’s also a little shit that records “bootlegs” of the stage shows she goes to.
Simô is a bit like Simon and is very outspoken about supers being good and the like which Caridad had tried to curb since it might have them found out.
Nora looks up to both her parents and she tries to emulate the good things they do. From Simon’s job as a pro-bono lawyer - she likes to offer her help without expecting anything in return - to her mom’s tendency to bake things so others have their comfort foods.

Caridad and Simon have children? How many and what are their names? Are they Simon's biological children or are they his stepchildren? Is Simon the typical funny and indulgent father or is he more serious with them?
They do have kids! They have five which keeps them on their toes really but they thankfully manage quite well.
Here’s the list of kids!
Henrietta Ramona "Mona" A. Palladino
Leonardo Percival "Nardo" A. Palladino (twin)
Sylvia Iluminada "Lumen" A. Palladino (twin)
Abraham Maximo "Simô" A. Palladino
Alberta Nicanora "Nora" A. Palladino
Simon doesn’t indulge their every whim but he encourages their interests and passions if he notices that they’re growing passionate about something. While Caridad was expecting, he also recorded various audiobooks of him reading fairytales to them, each of them having a specific writer. Mona got Hans Christian Andersen, the twins, Nardo and Lumen got Charles Perrault,  Simô got the Brothers’ Grimm while Nora gets Andrew Lang. They also have first edition copies of the book and they even got the recordings put into CDs so they could have it on the computer and some such.

Of the 5 children, who is the most affectionate, the most serious, the most intelligent, the most mischievous and the most supportive?
Mona is the most intelligent among them and she always volunteers to tutor her younger siblings. She even gave them a cheat sheet for her past classes .Mona also likes learning dead languages just for fun since she thinks it’s fascinating. Though she also learned a bit of Old English since she likes to read stuff like the Faerie Queene in its older text.
Lumen falls under the most supportive since she likes to see her siblings achieve their goals. Hell, she was among the regular customers for Nora’s lemonade stand and later, when she was selling cookies, Lumen proceeded to call her friends and to advertise it on social media just to boost sales.
Nardo is the most mischievous. He likes to prank people but not in a harmful way. Confuse don’t abuse. He sometimes just manages these little pranks that ends with people smiling fondly and shaking their heads. He also likes to surprise the faculty with pizza orders - he already paid for them - or birthday gifts he tracks down for them. His friends and family receive this same treatment though only on a more frequent basis.
Simô is the most competitive as I’ve said. (All the kids have the capability to be serious but the most serious is still Mona.) and anything opposing what he wants to do becomes a challenge for him and he hates that fact.
Nora is the most affectionate. When she’s not telling on her siblings, she is actually quite sweet and affectionate with them. She’s also resolved to surprise them with breakfast in bed for their birthdays since she likes to think breakfast in bed is the best thing ever,
