Okay, but the fact that Poppy’s last name as a kid meant “Light”.

The fact that Poppy was the one to inspire Ian at Everlight.

The fact that Poppy is light and Ian is darkness (“Grimm”) and there’s something very elemental about their names, like they were meant to meet and mesh.

You can’t have light without the dark and vice versa. They clash but they also NEED to be together.

The fact that Poppy has inspired Ian to change for the better several times. That she came into his life at a somewhat low point and brightened his outlook almost immediately.

Wow so the new mythic quest epsiode was really, jo and brad hate who they are and are stuck in jobs they hate, and they’re cold ruthless killers, but they won’t kill a pregnant rat, instead they just give it to David.  and then poppy makes fun of Ian once and they seem so fragile after sarian. It’s like Ian’s only thing is his creativity and he puts his entire being into that, and he values the control so much. But poppy relies on him so much and she’s not the best at people and her coding is so important to her. And these people care so much but they can’t agree on anything else. And Ian really did try his best for poppy but it wasn’t enough. Not when poppy has always been there for him. But he CANT do the same.

mythic quest headcanon of the day

brad bakshi is touch-averse. he hates hugs and when people enter his personal space in general. especially if the touch is unexpected

maybe it's because of physical abuse and/or his problems with self-image.

based on the:

1. scene where Brad asks Poppy to don't step closer to him

2. scene where Zack hugs Brad and he looks distraught (for obvious reasons)

3. scene in season 3 where Ian gives Brad a hug and he again looks like he doesn't like it

hello i know we’re all fresh off the ian poppy angst from this ep and i am too! it’s just for the first time watching it i couldn’t really get into it. and its not that this doesn’t make sense in terms of the characters! ian losing that creative control that he’s been using as a means to value himself and now that poppy is in charge she’s both the painter and the paintbrush leaving him as. just there. and poppy also in tern fearing that ian will always want her to play second fiddle to him, that they'll never truly be equals, that she'll always be just the sidekick which is makes perfect sense! but i don't know the way that it's presented this season (aside from sarian) feels like great payoff without great setup. this also has something to do with my point that all of the arcs in the first half of the season feel like a B plot, hard to grow attached to anything but im curious to know what others think!

and to be very clear this is not me saying i didn't like this scene in the slightest to be honest its one of the strongest points in the episode and season but without the adequate focus given to them this season, it cant help but make me wonder if this scene could've felt so much better for me

This season seemed weaker in part bc the workplace was splt up and now next season it's gonna be split up but... differently???

I was real worried there were gonna be 3 companies though so im very grateful that that isn't happening
