The crash of waves. The coolness of water splashing across his lips. Yet it's a damn crab pinching his ear of all things that snaps Raguna back to consciousness.

"pFUH?!" He sputters saltwater. Wait. Saltwater? Waves? They... oh no, they got washed out all the way to the coast?! It'd been one hell of a storm and flash flood that caught them but this is ridiculous.

"Agh... all my stuff!" It's all gone. The cart too. Probably in pieces back upstream. And of course the beetle monster they were trying to deal with flew away. But wait, what's that sticking out of the sand over there? Oh right. "Keelin??"

What is it with her attracting freak thunderstorms?

She's mostly sure she isn't related to any weather witches. Nor has she interacted much with them, so they wouldn't be out to get her as far as she's aware.

Haaaah... Maybe I should just stay under here. It might be safer.

Suddenly there's a tug at her leg, a surprisingly strong one that pretty much yanks her from her gritty sanctuary in one go.

"ngrrf!" She squints up at Raguna with one eye shut due to the sand being... well... everywhere.

"Oh! You made it too. That's good news... I think?" She pauses and sits up to look around dubiously, then grins sheepishly up at the unsuspecting victim who has been dragged into her woeful tide of luck.

She manages to stand and stagger her way over to a stream of fresh water cutting it's way through the sand nearby, likely the remnants of the flood that deposited them here, and rinses her face.

"That's better! Now. Uh. Where are we?"

Money was tight for this alchemist, but so too was the time available to finish a request. Raguna needed these reagents! There was no other way he could get crystals of that quality otherwise.

"I wouldn't try to cheat you, Tressa. You know me better than that... I doubt I could get something past you if I wanted to. But I could offer you some feathers to trade, if that works?"

A long hmm sound as the merchant was examing the feathers he is going to trade for these reagents which she acquired after a long battle with a scientist in some far land. As much as she likes to help people, her trade is something else. business is business, you know. She can't just give up on things just because of friendship, right? Her reputation would be at stake! Plus, what items would she trade if she did that?

However, fair trade is always what she asks for. Plus, she is not that cruel to not loosen up the robe a little. It is funny too to see someone like Raguna's reaction.

"Hmm~ let me think about it."

Now her arms crossed, index rubbing her chin. These reagents cost about three pouches but she managed to get them for two and a half. These feathers look superb but she didn't see an appeal for feathers in the market area these days. She could trade something she won't find a seller for in days. Still, she could find a use for these feathers.

"Alrighty! Only if you have 100 of these feathers the reagents will be yours! What do you say?"

Eyes had rested on the stream that laid before the two. Green eyes reflecting her lost in thought on how well she might be able to jump on the rather slippery looking rocks. They were a little too spread out for her comfort to attempt to jump on them. Not that she minded getting wet but she would much rather not if such an option was availiable. She moved from one angle to another her footsteps light. Though, it seemed she hadn't much of a chance to plan out the perfect way to go about this before she felt herself being lifted from the ground itself.

Surprise was evident a small scream of surprise passed her lips as she found herself in Raguna's arms. She wrapped her own arms around his neck a small resting easily on her lips. "If you wanted to be close all you had to do was say so." She rested her on his shoulder knowing well this was something she wanted too. Her eyes darted back to the stream and the rocks as Raguna started to make his way across them. At least this way if they were to fall she would land on him and it wouldn't be as rough as a fall for herself. But poor Raguna if they did fall! He'd hit rocks and have her weight ontop of that. She had faith, however, he would get them across with no problems.

Even if it was a chilly day, the crepes in their hands were nice and warm. Raguna and Illya were well into their 'day' together. Date? Suppose this could count as one of those wouldn't it. Raguna wouldn't be able to deny that spending time with Illya like this was nice. Outside the manor. Outside of everything else.

"Actually mine tastes pretty good, but they put a lot more banana in than I expected." He muses, unable to resist some manner of comment before licking some of the chocolate off his lips. "Mm. How about yours, Illya? ...you know, I wouldn't mind learning how to make these myself if you wanted things like this more often. Oh. This must be the pond?"

The owner of the stand knew Illya well at this point, hence the invasive questions when she suddenly came up to him with a man on this day of all days. Nevertheless, she placed her usual order and carried on with her day.

"It is good, isn't it? I was surprised dainty little trucks like those could make better food than any of those high-end places you have to spend thousands of yen on. I go there almost every time I go out into the city. Nothing particularly special about it but... I suppose I just wanted to show you it."

"Hah! You think you can do better than him? Let me tell you something, if I'm willing to go out of my way to get his crepes specifically, then you've got a lot to live up to. So I hope you practice a lot before you try giving any to me. Ha. Hahahaha!"

Illya sits down, not on a bench or a stone wall or anything, just on the fresh snow.

"Heh... Heh... Hm..."

She gazes wistfully out onto the frozen pond.

"...You know... The last time I was able to just... relax out in the snow like this, it was the last time I ever saw my parents."

"Cecilia? Good morning... I didn't expect to see you here this early." Raguna takes a pause in the clearing of his field, shouldering the scythe to pass a quizzical smile to the young elf. "Russell knows you're out and about, right?"

It’s not as though Cecilia wouldn’t have liked to see Raguna around town on any other day. She would be happy, usually, but she was a little unhappy to see that her plan to try and sneak around the fields wasn’t going to work. She wanted to see one of the bigger caves today, just so she could be seen as a Big Girl! She knew no one would really let her go on her own, especially not to Toros... 

She couldn’t let Raguna know that, though...

Ever since her trip to Wonderland, Ai had found it more difficult to find herself at any sort of beach. Sure, even going to it before was rare, usually once every year or two during the summer, and it was always a longer trip since her parents didn’t want the children on the coast with the Pillar of Darkness, having to instead go to the other side of Sadoshima in order to go at all.

Considering how hard at work the twins’ parents had been as of recent, she found herself missing those trips. Sure, it wasn’t like she wanted to distract them, considering they’ve always been hard workers, and the world still had the promise of threat looming over its head, but it still felt lonelier than ever, the fond memories seeming to be a catalyst for it. So, the one person she could think to just vent to, as she’s sure Yu probably feels some sort of similar way to her already, is Clear.

She certainly looks a bit dramatic, although she doesn’t plan on acting so horribly sad the whole time they talk, its hard to be super cheerful as this weighs on her. “Hey Clear? Is it selfish to feel sad about something you know you can’t do right now?”

Onion Cookie heard of the new cookie making their home in the village. She always seemed to hear things, since no one but Blackberry Cookie could quite speak with her. She always begged them not to leave when they finished their conversations, but no one ever seemed to listen. Nevertheless, she wished to keep trying. She wanted to make at least one friend, if she could...

The cookie in question was caught in the little ghost’s sights, which she soon made her way over to. She found it somewhat difficult to figure out just how to get the Cookie’s attention, especially since he wasn’t looking in her direction, so she opted to speak, in hopes of finally finding someone to hear her. “Helloooooo?” she asked, her voice slightly shaking with a mixture of anticipation, and fear of rejection.

She knows she has something great to show Sherbet Cookie today. Because today, she found something she’d never quite seen before, especially for being outside in the climate she lived in. The excitement is clear on her face as she opens the door to her friend’s home, almost bursting at the seams as she tries to hide what she’s holding. It’s a flower, a little yet vibrant flower. She’d heard of them, sure, but she’d never seen one for herself before, since it was always so cold in their little village. So her discovery felt so very exciting!

“Sherbet Cookie, I found something really cool when I was exploring today!” she chirps, though still keeping one hand behind her back. “But you have to guess. Can you guess what I got?” She knew she was probably too excited about something so small, and yet she didn’t care. She wanted him to see it too, since who knew when he’d be able to go out in order to find something like this? He deserved to have the chance to see the world, even if it was through someone else’s means.

He is a nice person and always willing to help others, which makes me doubtful that anyone could ever dislike him. He is earnest and he works so very hard. I wonder if he will be successful in teaching me how to cook! My previous experience is a bit poor, but he seems patient and optimistic. I think that is ideal for an instructor.”

“But I also wonder if he takes any pleasure in just resting. Or in a hobby that doesn’t involve working, or cooking, or cleaning, or taking care of his gardens. Just something he can do that doesn’t seem like a chore, though I think chores may equate to hobbies for him. But there’s something to be said for resting, as well as trying new things. I wonder what he’d think of a true vacation, or even a spa day relax his muscles! That will be an excellent birthday or Christmas gift for him, I think: a gift certificate to a spa. Hello, hello!♡

I want to preface a question like this with how I view video game mechanics and criticism; I don't like talking about things I dislike. I don't like comparing things that aren't as good. I dislike being negative. So as I answer, I answer with musing thoughts and hope! These are positive remarks about things that could be so helpful!

This is a hard question because of just how old those games are. RF3 got off easy as it already had a significant number of "quality of life" changes that had carried into 4.... Though 2 does have the advantage of already having the request system and the start of interactions between villagers. As much as I love it, 1 is lacking and archaic. It still has a world, plot, tone and art syle charm that I adore, but. I have to be honest. Both games will basically need to be entirely redone, but I think if they do 2, they HAVE to do 1- 1 will have so many tie-ins to 4 that people will be curious. Or, so I hope.

Aside from things like the modern stacking, inventory organizing, etc;

2 -- More villagers referencing/interacting with one another, more emphasis on the rival relationships, more consequences from the earthquakes, and I hope they would leave the temple as difficult as it was.

Don't shorten it's time or change the rarity of items to get in there. Don't remove the 2 gen system. I would also love to see a scene where Kyle confronts Fiersome and maybe a battle the player is scripted to lose before the generation switch! Why do we only get to talk to Venti and Aquaticus? (I don't mind not knowing who Kyle is, despite being told he got his memories back, as I have loudly said my personal headcanons, but. That'd be a cool tidbit and I love lore!)

1 -- A request system, my gosh. I could see it playing into the LP of characters like Melody, Tabatha and Felicity, along with being something else to do in a day. As always, addition of villager interactions, who actually knows who?? We never see anyone together. More of a hint that Kardia is supposed to be this important trade crossroads? Some lore hints at this, while the game makes Kardia feel like a lost, isolated little place, a paradigm I struggle to get out of my head at times.

They should NOT shorten the game, keep its number of dungeons, keep Misty Bloom unable to be gotten to until the 1st winter. (Maybe after that, magic or a bridge could get there during a non-winter season. But. Keep that early limit.) More use of characters like Sharron and Ivan?? Please? Explain (at least to the viewer) who they are, what they know. And, for the love of every dragon, don't lighten the tone; that would mess up the story. I said very recently to people that 1 has a gravity to it that gets lost in later games-- the way it uses the Empire/Norad struggle, and makes the amnesia not just a convenient plot device but a defining moment for those involved... Don't take that away. Especially when the game can now hint to things to come in 4! (And yes, I want to talk to Terrable after we calm him down, too. Ivan can talk to him, why not Raguna?)

And. Postgame. Actual family interactions. Why have 2 candidates that the story must be finished to wed, with no other reward? And if they wish to be so clever, cement that Frontier is supposed to happen after this game with some cute hint or something.

And lasty- I still beg and plead for a world map.

When I started writing Lilli on tumblr, I was worried that she was going to be too abrasive for most people, or that people would dislike her. I really poured years of my life into playing her in D&D and I try not to be TOO precious with my OCs, but Lilli, uniquely, means more to me than any other OC probably ever could, for a lot of reasons. I was so afraid that people wouldn't like her or be interested in her, or that they would only like her if I changed her or made her different, and from the start, I remember being so excited and so thankful that you seemed to like her as she was and think she was cool.

Even before we talked more, even before Eira and Nikolette and anything after, I was just so grateful that you liked Lilli enough to write Wylan opposite her. I don't know if I ever told you that, how close I came to shutting her blog down and taking her away from Tumblr because it felt like I just couldn't make her work here, and maybe I just wasn't a good fit for writing on this site anymore, and what ultimately changed my mind and made me want to keep trying was writing with you. I don't think I could ever thank you enough for that.

And then from there, your writing was so good and it felt like we clicked in a way that I've only clicked with a handful of writers that quickly and that easily, like it felt like there was an immediate mutual understanding of what the dynamic was, and what we were going for, and how things could progress, to the point where even when I was struggling to feel creative or make writing happen, and even when things took forever on my end, I really wanted to get it right in our thread.

I was already primed to be in awe of Wylan, how comfortable you seemed to be writing him, your ability to put him in so many different AUs and crossovers in a way that made him fit in, but also preserved what was uniquely his, and then you hit me with a multi-muse? With like a dozen characters that were all so different and unique? Different canons, different personalities, different genres, and somehow you were pulling them all off so well? Boy, I was floored. There were a handful of characters I was semi-familiar with (Samus, Armstrong, Mizuki) and then characters I'd never heard of at all (Raguna, Dogi, the OCs), but it felt like you had a vision for all of them in the same way you did Wylan, like you knew what they were about, you knew how they could fit into tons of different settings, and you knew how to make them work as RP characters.

That's actually the most impressive thing to me, like, it's one thing to be just a technically good writer. Lots of people are. It's another thing to be so clear on like, not just how to write something that is nice to read or shows a strong command of language, but that is easy and clear and FUN for someone else to write alongside. Lots of people have a story inside them and can write by themself, but I've always always always been impressed by your ability to write great stuff that somehow has the perfect mix of getting across your own character, leaving space and development potential for the opposite character, and also moving things forward into a plot or a story.

You are an absolute joy to write with, I have a ton of fun thinking about plots and threads and memes with you and your characters, I would literally perish for Eira. You're super easy to plot with, you're great at coming up with ideas and you also bring great energy to my ideas, to the point where it feels to me that so much of what we figure out together feels like real collaboration. I'm always in the position of both loving the things we're writing, and being extremely excited for what might come next.

Anyway yeah, you're fucking awesome and I'm so glad that I get to write with you as often as I do.

It's not her fault that a lot of her favorite clothes come from her boyfriend, jumpers, jackets, sweaters, and whatnot. All incredibly comfortable and big on the engineer, the question was, what would she be stealing from her boyfriend today?

It'd have to be something he'd notice, but not too obvious. Perhaps one of his most used tools, perhaps his favorite? Hu hu hu, he'd never expect this! Surely she can hold it to ransom, at least for some affection.
