Gotta admit I actually meant a great basis for Alice's witch as in "The name also reminded me of Alice in Wonderland" and that is said great basis. In all honesty I only know that Genshin Alice is apparently OP as fuck and that's that because I'm a dialouge skipper (I only play for the exploration aspect tbh) through and through and just speedran everything until Inazuma (Heizou's to blame for that part hskshdkszs)

Honestly Genshin Alice is OP af but she's also... Um... A little... Out there shall we say. Tbh even if you did read the dialogue (which tbh same I can't read 😭) most of her lore is actually found in artifact descriptions, an event from last year and other various sources! Genshin does this a LOT btw so like if you ever are looking for lore then it's best to just get it from the wiki because at least everything is there for you and easy to access

GDAJSGAJ This is why I ignore the lore in Genshin, it's WAY too much and chaotic for me to keep up with 💀💀💀

But yeah I got to Inazuma in like three days worth of collective speedrunning the story. Partly because I need to farm for Heizou (I am not leveling until I can get him to lvl 70, even if I have to go through the damn chasm, because that man's my one and only, my everything, my beloved, my main of all mains) and the other part is because I want to see Raiden SO bad it's making me look stupid.

Still, I stand by this.

YEAH I GET THAT the only reason I try to keep up with it is because it's actually very detailed and really interesting but it's confusing af sometimes so I tend to just focus on characters I care about and roll from there

AND I TOTALLY GET THAT LMAO one day I will get the energy to do the quests because I want to farm for Thoma and Miko (when she gets her rerun because she WILL be mine)

To answer the question from your tags: I did choose the name Alice because of Klee's mom, because seeing her mentioned on my fyp reminded me of how I think it's a very pretty name. The added bonus was that it gave me an absolutely AMAZING basis to work with for Alice's hypothetical witch lol

That is really awesome to hear and you're right Alice is a lovely name but ngl after that last bit I am suddenly very very scared of her 💀 (in a good way)

People see a gay character who literally says shit like "I love you", "You made my life worthwhile" and "I was born to meet you" (all in one anime episode may I add) to Shinji and assume he did it to groom him instead of using their brain to think that Kaworu was very much honest about how he feels about Shinji (to the point he ends up having an unhealthy devotion to Shinji that makes him completely forget about his own wants and needs but thats another topic lol)

It's like they're pulling straws just to justify hating Kaworu and Kawoshin.

And to really put it into perspective: the Kawoshin dynamic is basically Ryomina in the P3 movies with the only diffrence that Kaworu knew what he was the whole time unlike Ryoji. They have the whole thing going, very depressed and hurt protag and the new guy who just cares for him and loves him, who later asks him to kill him (And yes Shinji kills Kaworu in the anime by his own request) and really its genuine and its tragic but not fucking grooming ffs I hate this fandom

As the resident native German speaker I can say that, yeah technically you can use "Ich liebe dich" the same way you use "I love you", aka to express love in general, not just the romantic kind. BUT usually "Ich liebe dich" is something I've seen only being used for the romantic sense.

Honestly my personal experience was always:

"Ich liebe dich" = romantic context

"Ich hab dich lieb" = can be romantic, but usually used for platonic/familiar love

Then again my experience isnt universal, but when I saw that line from Shiho my first thought was "CANON LESBIAN SHIHO????" so eh 🤷‍♂️

Probably what happened was the translation team thought oh ich liebe dich can be used in any case and went with that, without realizing that the "local" use is romantic only. Either way win for the sapphics 😌
