“So, now that I’ve finally got you out of that studio-..” The quip starts as her own arm settles along the bar, weight propped along her elbow with the scoot of her own drink closer and the entire turn toward her. “What’s your story? I’m sure the Rancher’s daughter has earned a tale or two from her date..” Dolores finishes, thumb fiddling with the little straw- poking around the ice in her drink as she eyed Angela further.

The cool air kissed her skin. Was it always so chilly in Angela’s personal studio area? When she called her in the usual fashion that they talked, she’d expected a lot of things. Was this at the top of it? Hardly. Was it unwelcome? Never. It was only fitting that they had come full circle after everything that has happened between them. What with their meeting, their dating, the distance, Dolores dropping out and becoming a mother, and now here she was. Her daughter within the care of her sister, while she stood before Angela. Bare as the day she was born, still as she rested on her knees in front of her.

The plastic beneath her feet crinkled every now and again with the small crunch under their weights, but otherwise all was still. And all was almost quiet outside of their conversation, and the music echoed into the air as the background noise. And most of all, the feel of the paint against her skin, and Angela’s brushstrokes currently across her stomach.

It was just her, and just Angela.

“Do you always compliment the models for your work..” Tone is playful, eyes near closed while she watched her, trying her best to not move for fear of turning a color astray. “Or just the ones you take on occasional dates?”

Why, Dolores and Angela is so important to me? Dolly’s relationship with Angela is the only one so far that she has that is entirely based out of respect, 1000% trust, and dedication. Goodbye.
