Tagged by @dickeybbqpit ages ago but I was really struggling for one of these, then this morning it hit me and I could finally share some of my favorites!

Ghilanel and Solas, “One Love,” by Marianas Trench
I listened to this after Trespasser and cried till my stomach hurt. I love Marianas Trench anyway but everything about this is Ghilanel after Trespasser to me, the sleeplessness, the phantom pain, the uncertainty.
I might do this to myself
Only made it worse but I just can't help
You know I get so attached
Listen everyday till the dark is back
Now I pine for phantom pain
It’s the only time that I see your face

Ghilanel and Solas, “On Your Shore,” Enya
This is more when they’re together. Of course it’s affected by the knowledge from Trespasser but even before then there’s something so still and deep about Solas, he reminds her of deep water and being with him is like the strangeness of venturing out into that.
Strange how my heart beats
To find myself upon your shore.
Strange how I still feel
My loss of comfort gone before.
Cool waves wash over
And drift away with dreams of youth
So time is stolen
I cannot hold you long enough.

Jonah Hawke and Anders, “Walking the Wire,” Imagine Dragons
Speaking of songs that made me cry!!! The image of walking a wire, the combination of being totally exposed but also being somewhere it’s virtually impossible for anyone else to reach you, really resonated with me for them, and a lot of the lyrics have a very us vs. the world feeling which is appropriate.
Oh, the storm is raging against us now
If you're afraid of falling, then don't look down
But we took the step, and we took the leap
And we'll take what comes, take what comes

Varevas and Dorian, “Let My Love Open the Door,” Pete Townshend
I cry a lot over music, probably should’ve established this at the outset, but these two were especially hard to pin down a feeling for, then I heard a cover of this this morning and realized this is it, this is them, or at least it’s Varevas. Dorian wants to be loved, he deserves to be loved, but he works so hard sometimes to make sure he’s got a door closed against it and Varevas knows it doesn’t have to be that way. The feeling of it is huge and bright and somehow so simple in the end, and that’s how I feel about them.
When people keep repeating
That you'll never fall in love
When everybody keeps retreating
But you can't seem to get enough
Let my love open the door
To your heart
