Love Birds (Nahikari Garcia x Reader)

The way that she looked at you brought a smile to your face. You could see the love she had for you in her eyes and it made you feel very safe and secure. Nahikari pulled you towards her and gave you a little smile before she leaned down and gave you a kiss. It was sweet and romantic up until Mapi and Leila decided to butt in. They stared to whistle and tease the two of you.

“Don’t mind the rest of us love birds,” Mapi said with a small smirk on her face. You rolled your eyes and gave Nahikari a kiss on the cheek. She sighed as you moved away from her. The two of you were definitely a bit upset about not getting to be close to each other, but you knew that they’d tease you relentlessly if they caught the two of you getting too cuddly.

“I love you,” Nahikari said as she pulled you around a corner. The two of you had walked ahead of the group from the practice fields to the hotel. You had maybe 30 seconds or so before they started to catch up, so you decided to make good on that. You wasted no time in kissing her and placing her hands on your hips. You could see it in the way that she walked away from you after the game. You could see it in the way that she broke your post-game tradition. You could see it in her eyes whenever she finally looked at you. Nahikari had played brilliantly in the game and she’d been a challenge. However, Barcelona had just been the better team that day. “Easy for you to say.” Nahikari glanced down at her hands and you tilted her face back up to look at you. “You won. This is easier for you.”

“No it isn’t. Yes, I won, but I also have to sit here and see you beat yourself up over this loss. I’d never win another game again if it meant I got to keep you happy. This game isn’t a devastating loss, it’s a stepping stone on your journey to becoming the biggest superstar in soccer. Men or women’s,” you rambled a little bit, but Nahikari was hanging onto every word. “I love you and I believe that if you put the right energy and focus into this, you can use it to be the best.”

“Really?” Nahikari asked with happier tears in her eyes.

“Absolutely. It’d help if you came to Barcelona, but you could do it here too I guess,” you said and Nahikari lunged to hug you. You were knocked onto your back and she pressed a playful series of kisses all over your face. You eventually had to push her off of you to change out of your kit and into your regular clothes.
