FREEING YOU!
DHRUV sitting on a beach in Goa, having beer, gets lost into the waves, looking at the water, when KAVYA comes close the him, gives him a side hug and a kiss on his forehead when she says,
KAVYA: I AM SORRY TO KEEP YOU WAITING BABY!
DHRUV: IT'S FINE! I AM HABITUATED TO IT ANYWAYS.
KAVYA making a puppy face, sits close to him, holds his hand, puts her head on his shoulder and says,
KAVYA: BUT I LOVE YOU KNOW!
DHRUV: I WANT YOU TO BE HONEST BABY.
KAVYA: ABOUT?
DHRUV: ABOUT YOU AND YOUR NEW 'MORE THAN FRIEND' GUY.
KAVYA: OH! YOU KNEW? FROM HOW LONG?
DHRUV: SEE! YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE TIME TO NOTICE MY FEELINGS. THAT'S WHEN I UNDERSTOOD!
KAVYA: HEY! I AM NOT CHEATING ON YOU BECAUSE I ALREADY TOLD HIM THAT I HAVE YOU BUT..
DHRUV looks at her, smiles and says,
DHRUV: I UNDERSTAND WHAT A 'BUT' MEANS.
KAVYA: I AM FEELING TERRIBLE BECAUSE I WANTED TO TELL YOU ABOUT THIS WHEN I BECOME SUPER SURE ABOUT IT.
DHRUV: I KNOW YOU BABY! I KNOW THAT YOU HAD AND STILL HAVE FEELINGS FOR ME BUT YOU KNOW GETTING CLARITY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, IS A MUST, IN A RELATIONSHIP RIGHT?
KAVYA: OKAY! TELL ME, WHY CAN'T SOMEONE BE CONFUSED, SPECIALLY A GIRL, WHY IS SHE CALLED A SLUT IF SHE IS TRYING TO GET A BETTER GUY FOR HERSELF?
DHRUV: YOU KNOW, A BOY IS ALSO CALLED AN ASSHOLE IF HE IS WITH TWO GIRLS. THE WORLD IS CHANGING BABY!
KAVYA: I KNOW! OKAY, LET ME BE FRANK! I ACTUALLY DON'T KNOW WHO IS RIGHT FOR ME YOU OR HIM OR WHO! I DON'T KNOW!
DHRUV continued looking at the water and sipping his beer, says,
DHRUV: TELL ME! YOU REMEMBER WHAT WAS YOUR TYPE? A GUY WHO HOLDS YOUR HAND, WALKS WITH YOU AND HAS DEEP CONVERSATIONS WITH YOU, WITHOUT BORING YOU, RIGHT?
KAVYA: OH! YOU REMEMBER? IT'S ROMANTIC RIGHT?
DHRUV: I AM ONLY LEFT WITH RECALLING THESE MEMORIES AGAIN AND AGAIN, AS WE ARE DRIFTING AWAY BY STAYING TOGETHER IN THE SAME HOUSE RIGHT?
KAVYA: WHAT SHOULD THAT MEAN BABY?
DHRUV: LET ME BE FRANK NOW AND ASK YOU A QUESTION. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME WE WALKED TOGETHER? THE LAST TIME WE HAD THIS DEEP CONVERSATION? THE ONE THING YOU WANTED FROM YOUR PARTNER IS MISSING BETWEEN US NOW RIGHT?
KAVYA: YOU MEAN WE HAVE LOST OUR CONNECTION?
DHRUV: WHEN I SAW YOU TALK TO HIM, I LOVED THAT SMILE ON YOUR FACE. THE WAY YOU BOTH, IN THE EVENING TOOK A LONG WALK AROUND THE BEACH DURING THE SUNSET WAS REALLY CUTE.
KAVYA: YES! WE VIBE A LOT TOGETHER, ACTUALLY IT'S VERY COMFORTABLE WITH HIM. EVEN I DON'T KNOW, HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THIS SOON. HEY ONE MINUTE! YOU WERE ASLEEP IN THE EVENING SO HOW DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THE WALK?
DHRUV: IT'S NOT ALWAYS ABOUT THE TIME, SOMETIMES IT'S JUST THE PERSON AND YOUR FEELINGS FOR THAT PERSON WHICH MAKE YOU COMFORTABLE.
KAVYA: BABY! YOU DIDN'T ANSWER MY QUESTION YET?
DHRUV: I SAW YOU BOTH FROM THE WINDOW OF OUR ROOM AND GUESS WHAT I DIDN'T FEEL JEALOUS OR BAD LIKE I USED TO FEEL BEFORE, I DON'T KNOW WHY?
KAVYA: OH GOD! YOU ARE ACTING MATURE! WHAT IS THIS MIRACLE?
DHRUV: I DIDN'T EXPECT THAT FROM MYSELF EITHER!
KAVYA: YOU ARE SAYING, I HAVE FEELINGS FOR HIM THAT'S WHY I AM THIS COMFORTABLE WITH HIM.
DHRUV: YOU NEVER FEEL THAT COMFORTABLE EASILY, WHICH MEANS HE HAS TO BE SPECIAL RIGHT? I KNOW YOU!
KAVYA: BABY! YOU KNOW, I LOVE YOU FOR MAKING ME REALISE THINGS WHICH ARE GOOD FOR ME. YOU ARE THE BEST!
DHRUV: I LOVE YOU TOO BABY! NOW GO AND SPEND TIME WITH HIM.
KAVYA hugs him, holds his cheeks, kissing on his forehead again says,
KAVYA: I AM SORRY FOR BREAKING YOUR HEART!
DHRUV: IT'S OKAY! I UNDERSTAND! I KNOW YOU RIGHT!
He smiles and leaves her hand as she ran in the opposite direction with a lot of excitement to tell all this to SAMEER.

Okay but I just realized Solace is the perfect hero to call in to stop Nina when she’s under the influence of the Trigger Scent. Cause her whole thing is going into peoples minds and finding a memory that comforts them, and putting them in that memory so that they feel safe and calm
So like Nina’s going feral cause of the Trigger Scent, so Onawa shows up to the scene and puts up a force field around Nina using her powers, and finds a memory that would comfort her. It could be one with her current family, or when she lived with Kavya, or when she was with Wayde, but the one that tends to work the best is one of Nina’s only memories from before the Red Room or Weapon X Program or anything like that
Onawa sees she’s in a small cabin, it’s dark and snowing outside and the only light is from the fireplace. The shutters on the windows were shaking, the wind outside so strong Onawa was surprised the shutters didn’t fly open. Onawa could see children’s toys on the bear fur carpet, hand carved wooden moose and bears. There was raw meat hanging above the fire being smoked, making the house smell warm and smoky. Weapons were lying carelessly around the house, and a set of hand painted Russian nesting dolls along the mantle. There was a large man sitting in a chair, his hair in matted braids, and shoulders adorning a heavy fur cloak. Onawa noticed a little girl asleep in his lap, using his cloak as a blanket and chest as a pillow
“That’s my faðir.”
Onawa turned around, seeing Nina standing behind her, eyes fixed on the two people in front of them. She was on the brink of tears, but she had a small smile on her face, one Onawa personally had never seen her with before
“This was my last night with my family. My mother and sisters were on their way back from a hunting trip, my baby brother was asleep in our room, but the wind was scaring me so faðir let me stay with him.”
“You look…peaceful.”
“…..I was.”

Notes on Lecture Outline from 8/31/2020
Today’s lecture covers the topics of Copyright and Plagiarism - which differ in that Copyright is a legal concept, and Plagiarism is not.  Plagiarism is a proposed ethics rule, but there is no law against it.  Copyright serves its purpose by encouraging people to create Intellectual Property (IP) and maximizing IP’s value to society.
The first copyright law was passed in 1710, known as the Statute of Anne.
    - It gave authors rights for 14 years
    - They could renew for another term
    - Once it expired, it became public property
Some notable cases of plagiarism include:
Jonah Lehrer - A former staff writer for The New Yorker after it was discovered that several quotes from Bob Dylan in his book “Imagine” were fabricated.
Kavya Viswanathan - A Harvard undergraduate who wrote a book almost paralleling her own life - called How Opal Mehta Got Kissed, Got Wild, and Got a Life (2006).  While Opal Mehta quickly climbed the bestseller list - it was noticed that there were striking similarities to another book on the bestseller list - the most recent in a series by author Megan McCafferty.  Within days after Opal Mehta was published in April 2006, it was revealed by the Harvard Crimson that at least 29 passages were strikingly similar to those that McCafferty had written, and 13 instances where Ms. Viswananthan’s book had paralled Ms. McCafferty’s.  At the time, Ms. Viswanathan was 19, and had admitted to reading both of Ms. McCafferty’s books, Sloppy Firsts and Second Helpings in high school, but this only furthered plagiarism suspicions for Opal Mehta.  It has also been speculated that Opal Mehta was assembled by a book committee, as Viswanathan had already written a novel on Irish history in high school, was paired with an agent, and signed a half million dollar deal to write two books.  Her books were later pulled from stores and destroyed by her publisher.  Ms. Viswanathan was struck by tragedy in 2011 when both her parents were killed in a plane crash, but had graduated from Harvard in 2008 and was accepted at Georgetown Law.  She is now a lawyer.
Stephen Glass - A former journalist for the The New Republic from 1995 to 1998, where it was revealed that many of his published articles as associate editor were fabricated - with a majority of his stories either containing false information or being entirely fictional.  He later paid over $200,000 to The New Republic and other publications for this.  He later pursued a law career, and although he passed the bar exam in New York and California, he could not become a licensed attorney in either state because of his earlier scandal.  He later wrote a fiction about his own story called The Fabulist, which was later portrayed in the film Shattered Glass, starring Hayden Christensen.
Fareed Zakaria - A former columnist and TV Host for Time Magazine and CNN, respectively.  He was suspended for plagiarism of another writer’s article about gun control.
Noting the Zakaria case, as he still works in the journalism field, Curtis Brown suggests that plagiarism “is the new pornography”, and that while it draws significant controversy, it is often forgotten, and it does not affect the quality of the content Zakaria produced.  Comparing it to a Big Mac not being “handcrafted” he claims that not all writing will be “artisanal” and proposes that plagiarism be monetized.  He proposes that it becomes an intrinsic part of digital publishing, and that plagiarized “debts” to other writers for a work that is created are paid at the time of publication, in real dollars.
While I do believe that this system would be less disruptive, and allow authors the right to charge premium for their content to be used, it does not encourage the creation of Intellectual Property or foster individualism, and could create a convoluted system of trying to find out who the “original author” of a work is.  It is most certainly not ethical in the field of research to copy another’s work, so why should it be allowed in the fields of journalism and fiction?  Another hole I see in this proposal, how would the plagiarism of deceased authors be handled?  Perhaps it could go to their estate, but what if they do not have an estate or any heirs?  Where does that money go?  One more glaring issue I see here is entities with large amounts of money would essentially be able to copy an entire work, not cite the original author, and just pay them enough to not say anything, creating a very exploitative system for budding authors and journalists.  With these issues, I do not think this is an ethical system.  While we are moving towards a more connected and public society, I think that credit should be given where it is due, to preserve the integrity of the works and their creators.  If a student plagiarizes something for school, they are immediately reprimanded, harshly.  Why should it be different outside of school?  The entire point of the reprimand is to ensure that the student is actually learning what they need to succeed in their desired field of study - not to just regurgitate what someone else has already done.
We already have a system that encourages use of existing works, but it protects the author of those works in a non-exploitable way, and I believe that is paramount to academic integrity, as well as integrity within our news and entertainment.

Find The Words — WIPs
Thanks for the tag @wafflesandkruge, this was such a fun throw back!
Stars — (A novel about a girl with a gift for lies I ended up scrapping)
She tried to force the goosebumps on her skin to disperse and rid herself of the chill tucked behind her spinal cord, but it was no use. Something in their hidden cottage was wrong and Kavya could no longer ignore it. Childish naivety could only protect her so long.
Her mother’s two-faced voice, her father’s dead eyes, and her own abnormal appearance? She had been taught these things were just a side effect of life, but if Kavya knew anything she knew flowers. Prophets read the stars to predict the future, she read daisy petals.
She fiddled with the charcoal and studied the pages of information. She had already decided which plant to take on next: the flower with petals like blood or perhaps like white silk? It was hard to be sure of colors now, but Kavya knew what they were trying to tell her. Change was coming.
Sneer — (A short story that’s basically just a romance between a witch and a siren)
“I don’t have the tools here to remove the spear without making it worse. We’ve got to go back to my house. I have what I need there.”
“And how exactly do you expect to get there, genius?” She sneered, “In case you haven’t noticed I’m not in the most mobile position.”
Zeta glared back at her, but she had a point. They couldn’t walk there, and there wasn’t enough time to grab something to carry her in. Her mouth drew into a line as she thought it over, but she eventually decided there was no other option. She slipped her hands underneath the girl, one supporting her back and the other her tail. “Hold on.” She announced, ignoring the girl’s protests.
Black — (an excerpt about an OC named Dapid who likes to play piano and be a clown)
As he glanced up at the sad excuse of a neighborhood Nathaniel found that Dapid’s “humble upbringing” seemed like an insult to the term. The house was small— barely large enough to fit three rooms with a good floor plan. Many of the windows were broken, fixed up by black duck tape and coated in so much dirt Nathaniel wondered if you could even see out them. The yard was more of a small, earthy lot than anything and the once blue wood paneling that framed the house was rotting. And that was without taking into consideration the horrible location— they were at least a ten minute drive from any of the schools and by the looks of it they didn’t own a car.
His gaze slid over the scene and he felt a heavy feeling rise in his stomach. Not pity, though. It was all too familiar understanding. Nathaniel had grown up in a house like this. He still remembered walking to school each morning in the freezing cold. He’d had to leave so early to get there on time the first half of the walk took place before the sun had risen.

Formation of Breast Milk | Best Gynecology Doctors in Indiranagar
Tumblr media
Kavya, a new mother, was anxious if she was producing enough milk for her newborn. Since I have received several requests from new mothers to provide more information on breastfeeding, I am dedicating this session to make my audience aware of how breast milk is formed.
Human breast milk is an amazing nectar produced naturally to protect infants. It’s nutritious, comforting, and helps protect newborns from infection and disease. the most amazing part is it changes over time to adjust to a child’s needs and also when the child is sick. Breast milk is the ideal food for a human child.
Over the years, scientists all over the world have tried to replicate it in a laboratory. But even though they have been able to achieve amazing innovations, they have not been able to create the nectar of life-breast milk in the laboratory. Only a mother can produce and provide it for her child. Best Gynecology Doctors in Indiranagar | Dr. Bhargavi Reddy shares some information on how your body makes breast milk.
The structures that make up the female breast provide protection and also produce breast milk.
If you are thinking about breastfeeding for the first time, you will be wondering how it works. It will be easier to understand when you are aware of all the parts that work together to make it happen.
Skin: First of all, on the outside, skin surrounds the breast.
Areola: Darker circular or oval area on the breast, and the
Nipple: Structure that protrudes from the middle of the areola.
When the baby latches onto the breast to get the milk, it takes the entire nipple and part of the areola into the mouth. This is a crucial aspect that you should know.
There are also small bumps on the areola called Montgomery glands. The Montgomery glands produce an oil that cleans and lubricates the nipple and areola.
Breast Milk
A woman’s body is a marvel. The body can bring new life and grow another human being. It can also provide all the nourishment that the child needs for growth and development. Do you know another fantastic fact? The preparation for breast milk production begins even before a woman is born. The preparation goes on through puberty and pregnancy. The full production happens after the birth of a child and can go on for months and even years.
It is better to be aware of the changes your breasts undergo at various stages to be prepared for it.
Stage 1: From Birth
At birth, a baby girl has all the breast parts that she will need to make breast milk, but they are not developed.
Stage 2: Puberty
When the girl reaches puberty, hormonal changes cause the breasts to grow. The milk-making tissue begins to develop.
If you have been tracking your cycles, you would have observed that there is an increase in the size and tenderness of your breasts after ovulation. This is because your breasts start to prepare for pregnancy and breastfeeding during this time. But if there’s no pregnancy during this cycle, the fullness and tenderness subside, and the cycle repeats. If you were to get pregnant, the breasts continue to grow and develop to prepare for lactation.
Stage 3: During Pregnancy
At the beginning of your pregnancy, your breasts begin to change. Sometimes, this is one of the first few signs that women notice, leading them to take a pregnancy test. During pregnancy, the breasts are preparing for lactation and getting fully mature. By the time a woman confirms she is pregnant, the body is entirely ready for breast milk production.
Estrogen and progesterone cause the milk ducts and tissues to grow. They also increase in number. The breasts also grow in size. You may notice that the veins may become more visible, and the areola become more significant along with the Montgomery glands.
The colostrum, the first breast milk, which is highly beneficial for the baby, is produced during the second trimester. During this period, you may also see drops of clear or white liquid on your nipple.
Hence if the baby were to arrive early, your body would still be able to make breast milk.
Stage 4: Postpartum
But the full production of breast milk occurs only after the baby is born. The estrogen and progesterone levels drop, and the hormone prolactin increases. This sudden change in hormones signals an increase in the production of breast milk.
The baby can receive the small amount of colostrum you started making during pregnancy. Soon as the days pass by, you will begin to notice an increase in the amount of breast milk that’s filling up your breasts. This stage is called lactogenesis II.
Stage 5: Milk Production
We have seen that the production of milk happens in the body involuntarily. But remember that after the first week, the milk production depends on supply and demand. If you intend to breastfeed your child exclusively atleast for six months, you must breastfeed frequently. This is because it stimulates the breast nerves that send the message to the pituitary gland to make milk.
If you are looking at increasing breast milk production, certain medications or herbs can be ingested. Even after trying to increase breast milk and still are unable to do so, your baby must be given formula milk.

Oh-ffice!
Episode: 1
Tumblr media
For Dikshit it had been quite a habit for  a while now. It was already half past three in the morning and the insomnia was still onto it’s play. He kept tossing around on the couch putting an effort to sleep but everything went in vain. After  twenty minutes of struggle he got up and sat clumsily stretching his legs on the coffee table. Unwittingly he turned on the TV, put it on mute and stormed off to the kitchen to brew a cup of coffee for him.
He switched to his favorite Pink Floyd  track and  sat back on the couch again in his living cum bedroom. There was no catching up to do other than checking Donald Trump’s latest tweets, innovative features on Tesla’s Model 3, random updates on last La Liga match and so on. The coffee was good. He sniffed the steam and sipped slowly while scrolling down his Twitter feed.
Eventually he ended up stumbling across Alankrita’s Instagram profile. She had already removed their pictures: the stunning sunsets, weekend-coffee dates, throwback images of their Goa trip with  ‘love you to the moon and back’ and other cheesy captions—all of them! He did not feel bad though. Indeed, he barely felt anything these days. By now, he had got an intense urge to have another cup of strong black coffee. But soon he resisted the urge realising he  had enough caffeine for the day. Another Sunday successfully wasted, he thought. Wait! Did he say Sunday? His mind started boggling for a while. Technically, it was Monday-morning and already five. Damn it! He turned off the TV, kept his phone aside and laid down on the couch expecting somehow to get at least, well, a nap. Deep down he did not want to go to the office for the day. But he knew he had to. Paying bills is the biggest motivation to work after all!
At nine in the morning he reluctantly took a lazy shower. Dropping the idea of having breakfast was pretty obvious as he was already running late. It took him another half an hour to get ready, book a cab and set off for the day asking the driver to pace up. His phone buzzed. He squinted on the screen with his groggy eyes and witnessed there were already two missed calls from Ayush but didn’t bother to call him back. He reached office on time and walked up to the elevator but soon got disappointed having spotted the board stating that it was under maintenance. He took the stairs and made his entire way to 4th floor. To make it worse, he ended up realizing that he was really having a bad day when the access card did not work. He tried for the third time. Access denied: it kept getting reflected.
“Can I help you?” said a voice behind his shoulder. He turned back and saw Kavya standing right behind him, possibly being a silent spectator, watching him struggling with the access card.
“Hey!” he greeted her with a prodigious smile. Dull moments are always history whenever he encounters her.  Even the most boring moment gets enliven with her mere presence. For a moment he forgot all his worries.
“Let me try.” she grabbed the card from him.
“It, uh, doesn’t work  sometimes.” he said  scratching his forehead, trying so hard not to sound irate.
“That’s okay.” she casually observed both the faces of the card, “here we go.” then swiped the card and it did work at the very first go.
“Well, sometimes, it works as well.” he said apologetically. She said nothing but smirked and passed by through the corridor making a harmonic sound by tapping her stiletto heels against the floor.
He walked up to his cubicle and pulled up his work station.  Your password has been expired. Please update your new password now. A pop up window appeared on the screen. Damn!
“Hey Dik..Dik..Dikshit” Rabish stood up from his seat and leaned towards him, “bhai, round table conference”  he said in code words about the board meeting which they needed to attend in no time, followed by an HR session. Out of all his colleague Rabish seemed to be an absolute nuisance to him not only because he used to bring all the awry updates to one’s table but also his dreadful stammer made his not-so-filthy name sound like a dick and shit. “After you.” he made a gesture with his arm. Both of them proceeded towards the conference room.
Inside the conference room, he felt like dozing off on his chair watching the pie-chart on the projector screen. It was basically about appreciation for the last month’s turn over and discussion regarding the increments respectively. He wondered even Calculus was less boring, back in school, than one might think, if it’s compared with the first meeting of the session with David, his assistant manager. Nothing was interesting about him apart from the Black Jaguar F-Type which he drove.
“Shout out to my most competent team.” David seemed to speak more like a motivational speaker in a leadership funnel. “Give yourself a big round or applause! All of you!” he announced and everyone around started clapping which woke Dikshit up from his siesta.
“Dikshit, are you okay?” asked David.
“Yeah, I’m fine.” he said as composed as he could sound.
“All right.” he nodded and continued. “So as we were saying— ”
The meeting went for another twenty minutes and once it was over he badly needed a cup of strong black coffee. He occupied back his seat and updated the password watching Kavya attentively working on her desktop. Her dark brown eyes were constantly staring on the screen without even a single blink and her lips were poised between a suppressive smile and silence. It occurred to him that time stood still, and the soul of the world surged within him. But then—
“Hi Dikshit!” Ananya flushed a wide smile standing next to him. She had recently rebonded her hair and was curious whether if Dikshit  noticed the change.
“Hey, what’s up?” he flashing his eyebrows.
“I’m good. How’s your weekend?”
“Not bad.” he briefed. She noticed the dark circle beneath his eyes but didn’t felt like bothering him asking if he had a good sleep last night.
“Listen..” she faltered. “I was wondering.. if, uh, we can go out for coffee this evening after work or..” she faltered again “..or may be  how about this weekend?”
“That’s really  a good idea…” he emphasized.
“Great!”
“But you know what, I gave it up completely you know. Really sorry.” he winched, pretending apologetic.
“You gave up coffee, I mean, seriously?” her eyes flung open in disbelief. More or less, she quite knew his obsessive interest on coffee.
“Yes. That’s unfortunate,” he shrugged. “my doctor’s been warning me since ages and now he’s clearly instructed me to avoid it. Gents problem you know.” he knew how bad he was at cooking stories, but still he tried pondered whether if that made any sense. Her face dropped.
“We can still go for Karim Chacha’s chai though. Shall we?” it was pretty obvious she would refuse to ‘tapri ka chai’ on a crowded footpath right next to their office. Offer them a worse option rather than clearly saying no, that’s what he learnt in his management lessons.
“Let’s see.” she said deadpanned and excused herself.
He quickly finished quarter of his work and whizzed off hunting for Ayush in a different bay.
“Why aren’t you picking up my call, asshole?” Ayush saw him from a distance.
“Bhenchod, isn’t that you who’s pinching that naive girl over and again after me?” he probed.
“Who are you talking about, Ananya?” Ayush laughed out loud. “She likes you bro. It’s an open secret.”
“That’s not the answer to my question. Is it?”
“I was just trying to help you.” he giggled. “On top of that, you need to move on man.”
“Screw you man. Don’t talk like aunties now.” Nobody screws Ayush. Nobody dares to do so. He’s tech-savvy. A Google intern. If anyone messes with him, he messes with his firewall.  He used to live, eat, sleep and poo in dark web for most of his time.
“Look at those dark circles, again, aren’t you sleeping well again?”
“No, it’s just—”
“Just what?”
“Nothing. Just leave it! I just need to have—”
“Sex?”
“No, not at the moment. Perhaps, a cigarette will do for me now.”
“Even I think so. C’mon.”
They went to the smoking zone on a short break. That’t what they usually do—exhale the frustration, inhaling a bit of hope and whole lot of courage in each drag of puff ever since they joined this IT firm after getting their H-1B VISA repeatedly rejected. Friends who smoke together, die together —it was quoted on the wall. Ayush told him about some jugaad he’s working on to shift to Toronto later this year and asked him if he was interested. Dikshit replied in negative dragging in a very long puff and left.
Prior to lunch break He had summed up almost half of his work. Kavya was still working as attentively as before. Her work ethic and the elegance was a loud resonance to each other. The moment he thought, she stood up and came towards him.
“Hey, what are you having for lunch today?” she asked. That was quite unusual.
“Huh? Um, actually I didn’t even have breakfast today.” He did not intend to say that but it came out spontaneously.
“Oh my god. Seriously?” she said she had brought some home-cooked delicacy and asked him have it with her.
“I’m starving already.” he said even though he was not hungry at all.
They walked up to the Cafeteria. He ordered one ice latte and one espresso for him from Costa coffee. She offered him a dish of Shahi paneer. It was not the food but mostly the company that exited him much. The coffee was ready and his token number was displayed on the monitor. He went to fetched the coffee settling the bill. The moment he rushed back to his seat, he rammed with someone and the cold coffee flushed out of the cup. “I’m so sorry.” he yelled.
“What the f—”. Ananya yelled back did not even knowing it was him. Half of the people inside the cafeteria turned around. Her white tank top was painted with froth and coffee.
“I’m extremely sorry.” He wished he could disappear.
“No, that’s…that’s—” she faltered with irritation and anger.
“I can clean it. Let me bring some tissue.”
“No, that’s fine.” she said even though it was not.
“I’m sorry, I can clean it wait.” he insisted.
“I said that’s fine. Just leave it!.”
“Well, actually I do have cold coffee only. That’s why I—” he said as awkwardly as shit not sure of knowing what should he do or say.
“Whatever!” she said, clearly climbing the Mount Everest of irritation, and shoved off from the cafeteria. He wished he could undo the whole event. Rabish passed by towards the billing counter and saw him standing there. “What happened Dik…Dik…Shit, a..any problem?” he said. For the first he didn’t get annoyed by Rabish’s stutter for spoiling his not-so-filthy name, making it sound like a bin full of  trash. Indeed, he felt completely otherwise.
“Nothing.” he responded unmindfully, feeling like a dick and full of shit.

THE MISSING FRIEND
Lakshmi was waiting for her daughter Kavya to return home. Recently Kavya started playing with some unknown kid at the river side. That river is just few yards from their home. She told to her mother as that stranger is her new mysterious friend. Their home is located in the suburb at the edge of a small forest. Kavya’s father Hari is very fond of that home as he had spent most of his childhood days in it. Though it is far from the town, he decided to live in it. There is a two meter wall around the property and one can see a beautiful juicy green grass surrounding to that home.
When they moved into that home, Kavya was a year old kid. After Kavya, doctors told, it is difficult for Lakshmi to have another child. So they started taking care of her with utmost care. When Kayva turned five, she had realized that she wanted more friends to play, but beside of her home, there were no other homes so no kids to play with her. She felt very bored. Once in a while they used to go to their friend’s home in town to spend some time with their kids. But for Kavya that was not enough.
Many times Lakshmi asked Hari to move to some other home near to town just for Kavya, so she could find many friends in town, but Hari keeps postponing it. Meanwhile, Kavya got used to play alone and spend a lot of time at the river side.
When the days were going like this, one day Kavya had come home happily and told that she got a friend at the river side. Lakshmi was surprised as per as she knows, there were no one living near to their home, so there is no chance for anyone to come there to play. But when Kavya described her like how she talks, how she looks, then she started believing that that girl could be coming from a nearby village. As per her description, she was same age of Kavya and every day she comes by just wearing a kid’s panty. But Lakshmi was curious to know how come such a small girl comes alone from a village.
She asked Kavya to bring her to home. But she refused to bring her as her friend doesn’t like to come to their home. And her friend told to Kavya that no one should see her; otherwise she wouldn’t meet her again. After hearing that, Lakshmi started suspecting her friend. She told to Hari about Kavya’s mysterious friend. But he didn’t care much about it.
That day Lakshmi decided at any cost she should find who was she? So she prepared Kavya’s favorite sweet to sooth her and find more details about her friend. She was waiting for her to come back to home. After some time, she came.
“Hi Sweety, you know what I prepared for you. Can you guess?”, she said by carrying her.
“Hey… mummy… I know you prepared Gulab Jamun … I like it”, She was very happy. Lakshmi nodded and took her to the kitchen and gave a Gulab Jamun. While she was eating, she asked, “Sweety, does your friend also like Gulab Jamun ?”
“Yes, mummy”, she said gulping the Jamun.
Why don’t you take this to your friend? She might feel very happy, Ok”, she said by giving a box to her.
“Ya, you are right mummy. She feels very happy… you are very nice”, she said by taking that box.
“Will you go now? Are your friend still be at the river side “, she asked by looking at her carefully.
“Ya mummy she stays always there. Even she doesn’t have any friends…, so I go and give it right now”, she said and ready to leave home.
“Ok, come quickly … and be careful alright”
“Yes… mummy and my friend feels very happy after seeing this sweet… bye”, she said and went outside.
After few seconds, Lakshmi followed her, and she was extremely careful so that Kavya wouldn’t notice her. When she reached the bay, she was stunned after seeing what Kavya was doing at that place. Actually there was no one other than Kavya at that place. She was talking alone and feeding Gulab Jamun in air. She was talking such a way that someone was sitting beside of her. Lakshmi went quickly and stood in front of Kavya and shouted, “Sweety… What are doing alone here?”,
Kavya looked startled after seeing her.
“Mummy… Why you came? I told you shouldn’t come here… see…my friend left”, she muffled.
“Shut-up… you don’t have any friends here… you were talking alone here… “, she said in hysteric manner.
Kavya has never seen her mother before like that. She started crying, “I was talking with my friend only… I was not taking alone… she has left because you came…”
“Enough… come home”, she grabbed her hand and took her to home.
When they reached home, Kavya was still crying and went inside of her bedroom and closed the door. Lakshmi was terribly upset to see her kid talking alone. She waited for Hari to come home, so that she could share what happened today to him.
“Oh… that is very common baby… kids sometimes behaves like that… they make friendship with imaginary people… and they talk with them… so don’t make it as a big issue… take it easy”, Hari said to her when she told about what happened that day.
She didn’t expect that answer from him as she thought he would take Kavya to some doctor for check-up.
“But… honey… it is not good behavior for anyone to talk on their own… so can we have to take her to the hospital?“, She is worried.
“I told you … take it easy… it’s not that big problem… alright … I’ve to take a bath”, he said and went to the bathroom.
But Lakshmi was not convinced at all; however she wanted to keep a close eye on her daughter actions. Her worry was doubled when Kavya one day told her that her friend came to her bedroom to talk to her as since after that incident Lakshmi was not allowing Kavya to go to the river side.
“What did she tell to you?” she was curious to know.
“She is very angry on you mummy as you are not allowing me to talk to her. She told that she would kill you… but I pleaded her not to do that… she is not like before… she is changed so much… I’m afraid mummy”, she is frightened.
Lakshmi face turned pale and terrified to hear “Killing” word from five years old kid mouth. She hugged her immediately, “nothing is going to happen Sweety… don’t worry … ok”, she tried to sooth her. Inside she thought, why the hell she was talking like that; she strongly determined to take her to the doctor before situation goes out of her hands.
“I don’t understand what’s the matter with you… you are not listening my words… we must take her to the doctor… she is behaving like a crazy girl… today she said her imaginary friend is going to kill me… do you wait until she turns to a MAD girl”, Lakshmi was shouting on Hari.
“Calm down Lakshmi… nothing is going to happen … just wait for few days everything is going to be alright”, Hari was trying to calm down her.
“When… when it will happen… you don’t like to change the house…You don’t like to take her to doctor… you don’t like anything to happen… why? I have to know today … that’s it”, she was shouting in a hysteric manner.
“No … we can’t take her to any doctor… because… “, Hari stopped and he didn’t know what else to tell.
“Because… why??? Why we can’t take her to any doctor??? Now I’m realizing why… because you don’t like her… you don’t have any affection on her… “,
Hari got angry and crunched his fist, “Shut-up… I didn’t want to take her… because there is NO “HER”… our Sweety is DIED … yes… OUR KID IS DEAD … when we moved here… you took her in a boat on the river… but… that time the boat crashed into tree and flipped. And you both had fallen in the river… you were able to survive, but our Sweety had drowned to death… “, he burst into tears.
She was shocked and looking at him unbelievably.
He continued, “after that incident… you didn’t believe that our kid is no more… you started behaving as if she is still alive and playing with us… you constructed a dream world, where our Sweety lived with us and has grown up… it was you… you didn’t like to change home, because if we move to a different home.. you might recall that Sweety is no more…, but you didn’t want that… you wanted to live in your dream world … and feel our Sweety presence… but you don’t understand… how much torture I had gone through by seeing you like that … “, he stopped.
“No… you are telling lies… our Sweety is alive… I can show you… she is sleeping… she is alive“, Lakshmi muttered and fell on floor unconsciously.
