GOOD MORNING EVERYONE !!! I’m excited to say that today is Ogden’s ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF BEING OPEN !!! I know so many RPs don’t make it to this point these days, so thank you so much to everyone who has joined us and gotten invested in the plot for however long or short it may have been. I genuinely appreciate it so much !!! Not to mention, we have plenty more drama to come and our plot is just getting into the thick of it - so for anyone else who wants to join us, we have the most welcoming members EVER, and you’ll be welcomed right in the midst of chaos as soon as you’re accepted !!! And to all those amazing, welcoming current members - thank you SO much for continuing to be invested in the plot, for being active on your characters, for being involved with all the threads on the dash (not just your own !!!), and continuing to participate with your muses in Ogden - and, of course, for allowing them to be continuously tormented by our plot. Here’s to another year !!! 

And, idk, maybe solving that mystery.....

Hello everyone !!! As a reminder, with the holiday season, I will not be checking long term activity for the month of December. It's a busy and stressful time for a lot of people, so it's totally understandable that RP would not be the number one priority (even as much as we'd like it to be sometimes). Otherwise, i you cannot make the activity from week to week, please make sure to message me !!!

As another reminder, since we're currently in the ic summer break, the plot will resume with the start of the new school year (maybe along with some new skeletons....) after January 1st. Acceptances will resume then as well - stay tuned for a more specific date sometime in early January !!!

Since our event for THE GOLDEN GIRL’s birthday wrapped up tonight, just wanted to put a quick post out to say a few things !!!

FIRST - happy IRL birthday to our missing muse, none other than GREER MORRISON, who is, of course, the chaotic mess that this plot all revolves around. Though most of our muses give her a pretty big run for her money on that messy front.

SECOND - HAPPY FIVE MONTHS !!! I am so appreciative to everyone who has come to spend some time on our dash, no matter how short or how long it they chose to do so. It’s been so much fun and I cannot wait to see how things continue to develop...

Which brings me to THIRD - it might be Greer’s birthday, and we might be five months in, but the plot is just getting started. I have so many ideas in the works and there is plenty of excitement and chaos and secrets to be unveiled still, so as always, stay tuned as the mysteries slowly become unveiled. 

And FINALLY !!! We still have two open skeletons, so anyone who is looking for an active dash, we’re a dark academia plot rp, with an active dash, a whole host of amazing characters, and we’d love to get those last two skeletons filled to round out our full cast. Come check us out !!!

MINI EVENT : POWER OUTAGE

Saturday night is always one that brings a bit of wildness to the campus, but even still, there are things that no one expects. It was early enough that evening - some people were still winding down their days, some people were about to get ready for the weekend activities, but people were scattered across campus, when all of a sudden....the power went out. A flurry of texts and calls quickly confirmed what seemed utterly impossible: It was a campus wide black-out. Despite faculty urging everyone to stay where they were, ensuring students stayed safe (didn’t need anyone else going missing, right?), there was still the sound of people moving around campus, made all the more eerie by the inability to see anyone. Here’s hoping that everyone made sure to preserve their phone battery - who knows when they’ll be able to charge it again?

IC DATE: October 1st - Saturday evening

OOC DATE: Sunday, August 21st - Sunday, August 29th 

PLEASE NOTE: As this is a mini event - you do not have to pause current threads, nor do you have to exclusively do starters for the power outage. You can do as many or few threads pertaining to it as you want, HOWEVER - there will be assigned partners and locations for this event - while you can plot any reason for your muse to be in their assigned location, they must be there when the power goes out, and either be with their partner, or find them immediately after. ADDITIONALLY - your thread with your partner must be decent length (ideally around/at least seven notes) and do not do any threads taking place after the outage yet !!! 

IN SUMMARY - the assigned pairing is for a thread occurring when the power went out and the immediate aftermath. Other than that, your muse is free to wander around campus during the event, which all takes place between sunset on October 1st and the sunrise on October 2nd. Just be careful, because you never know what trouble they might stumble upon in the dark....

Hello lovelies !!! Since this week has been Thanksgiving in the states and holidays can be busy/stressful for everyone, I’m excusing the activity check. Please note the below for our holiday schedule for activity checks as well: 

December 3rd & 10th - normal checks

December 17th, 24th, 31st, and January 7th - activity checks will be lowered to one reply per character per week, and weekly interest checks on the main. Of course, our goal for activity is never to have members routinely doing the bare minimum week after week, and especially over the holiday, more replies are always encouraged and appreciated !!!

Hello everyone !!! While we have a few skeletons open, and before our next acceptances, I want to remind anyone who is interested in joining that we highly encourage and try to prioritize diversity in this group !!! As it says on our FCs and app count pages, we strive for no more than 1/3 non diverse fcs/characters (cis, white, not latine, not plus sized, etc) at all times, and currently, we’re closer to about 1/2. While of course anyone can still app, and I always want to accept the best app for an open skeleton, I do try to prioritize diverse apps if possible. For those who apply with a white FC, keep in mind there is a good chance that you will be accepted with an alt FC choice. If anyone who has already sent in an app would like to change or add FC choices, feel free to send a message to the main !!! And otherwise, I cannot wait to see what drama these new characters on our dash will bring !!!

Hey guys !!! So with our second round of acceptances, Mod GG and I noticed a pattern regarding diversity that we would like to discuss below the read more.

We have around (slightly over) 1/3 of our characters with white FCs, and we really want to encourage people to look for a wider range of diversity. I obviously want to accept apps that are best for the skeletons with their first choice FC, but as it is, I’m going to put a hard cap of 1/3 FCs in the entire group being white and cis, for both skeletons and additional characters. Ideally, I’d want this closer to 1/4 as well. 

We’re not asking anyone to change their existing characters, but we would love if anyone who’s going to pick up another character look for someone who may not be as widely used, specifically in ethnicities such as Indigenous and Polynesian groups, MENA, South Asian, or black FCs who are dark-skinned. Anyone who needs help brainstorming is welcome to come to GG or myself as we’re always down to try and come up with FC options, and I try to reblog a wide variety of resources onto @ogden-fcs that may spark some ideas as well. 

With that being said, we would also like to ask that people do not apply with secondary FC choices (required if you are applying with a white FC), that you would not use. If seeing the acceptance with one of those FCs would deter you from actually sending in the blog and writing the character here, then it is not a suitable alternate choice. We will always try to prioritize diversity in our apps. There may come times where we are not happy with our ratio, and choose to accept with a diverse FC instead of a white one, and we would hope that anyone who is apping is understanding of this, and wouldn’t ghost simply because we chose to go with their secondary FC choice.

The role diversity plays in this RP is a conscious effort GG and I decided to commit to from the beginning in order to de-stigmatize the very real presence of marginalized people. Hollywood and popular media is still catered to the white, cisgender, straight, able bodied, thin person and we specifically want to create a community that is a safe, uplifting space for everyone. The norm should not be a majority white, cis, heterosexual cast, and our diversity rules are an incredibly small way to challenge that notion. That is why even now, with a good ratio, we are pushing people to diversify their choices. 

We really do appreciate everyone’s effort to represent different cultures and livelihoods so far, and hope you guys are willing to commit to furthering this even more with us !!!

These threads can be done as open starters, if they’re applicable, or if they’re a more one-on-one dare, feel free to plot it out with someone and do it as a closed thread. However, some key reminders for these threads: although the majority do not specify who the dare should target, try to choose someone out of your character’s comfort zone, who they do not already have large plots with (if possible, depending on the dare), and that you do not frequently thread with as it is. Also, do not double dip on dares wherever possible - meaning if your character is focused on one character, that character’s dare in return should not focus on your muse.

Feel free to start your threads pertaining to your dare whenever over the course of the week, but to help contextualize the chaos, keep below timeline of the order characters received them in mind:
