what if a pathospire disguised themselves as an animal species to throw off people like twyla..

(totally not asking because i just had an idea for an oc)

(i know a lot of people dont know about the existence of pathospires but theyre really cautious idk)

They could totally do that! In fact, I think some pathospires already do this!! Usually it's not for throwing people off though (which you're totally welcome to explore if you'd like of course!) but rather because they think it's cute and fun to do so.

In Noisrev, no one knows exactly what animal someone else is, unless they go full-animal mode. People just have estimations/assumptions of what animal someone else is! So for example, someone could look at Ingram and get the vibe he's some sort of bird, and they'd probably assume he's a crow, but they'd also keep in mind he might be some other type of black bird instead.

One of my own characters in fact is an orange-striped cat who tells people she's a tiger!

All this to say that if a pathospire wanted to pass themselves off as an animal, they'd be able to and it could be a fun story to explore--so go for it!!

The nova clones!!

So i have this thing that happens in the exe tower essentially lord x kills nova and then clones there body and makes like 30000 clones of them and after the exe tower fell a lot of them get out and start running amok and then because the clones look so similar the pathospires have to evolve uncanny valley just to make sure that they know which one isn't or is a clone

What would happen if a pathospire accidentally targeted another pathospire? Would they just like stand there and say "Oh" and begin fighting over their prey or like..?

Pathospires can automatically sense other pathospires, so they wouldn't choose another one as a target.

If two pathospires were in the same area it's unlikely they'd go after the same people, unless they wanna be like, REALLY petty about things.

If two (or more!) pathospires are in the same area and someone's heart breaks unconnected to any of them, they can all feed off that heartbreak and it's not like a fight to see who can get "more"

does heartbreak taste like anything? Is there different flavors of hearbreak? Does romance related heartbreak taste like chocolate?

I think heartbreak has tastes, but it is taste belonging to the individual and not the type of relationship someone had with them!

For example, in Here For Sweethearts, Nova mentions that they think Gunter's heart would taste sweet, just like he is.

Do pathospires have a different form like others animal forms or are adult pathospires just humanoid shaped. Since they look like little bugs as babies. Would they be big bugs

Pathospires don't have a different form!

I kinda like to imagine pathospires sort of "evolved' to take on more person-like appearances as they grow up because it became easier to break hearts that way, but their baby forms still look like little grubs.

Is it possible for a pathospire to accidentally reproduce?

Nope! They have to do it on purpose--it's for this reason that when a pathospire is looking to become a parent, they scout out someone with desirable personality traits they'd like to pass onto their children.

For example, Jik-Jak chose Ms.B/Bubblegum because she was very bubbly, sociable, and fun. He wanted Nova to share that kind of extroverted and friendly attitude to make it easier for them to get close to people.

Hello, I have some questions about the pathospires (because they look interesting and now I'm basically fixated with them /pos)

1 - If a pathospire break the heart of a person and the person who got heartbroken realize that the pathospire caused it (regardless if that person knows about pathospires or not), will they be resentful to them (Like getting angry with them) or the pathospire will get away with that every single time? (aka the person who got heartbroken won't realize that the pathospire make them suffer basically)

2 - (this one is a bit more silly) Does baby pathospires make sounds? Like when they are hungry or something like that.

The thing when it comes to this stuff is like...you essentially just have to treat the pathospire as another normal person in the scenario. The very idea of pathospires were inspired by feelings of real heartbreak that happen in real scenarios every day all the time! Pathospires don't have any sort of special ability to them that can trick someone into automatically forgiving them. Nova even implies this slightly during "The Night Before" chapter. Especially with Netina!

Nova knows if they say something too harsh Netina wouldn't want to be friends with them anymore. So he tries to plan carefully so that people will still want to be his friend for as long as possible!

2. I am sure they make some sounds, but I'm not sure the exact sounds they make! Maybe something like a squeaking......

Would nova's reaction to twyla or more specifically the way she is be considered a common one? Would other pathospires react the same way to people like twyla or would they be miffed by not being able to get food out of them

I'd say that Nova's reaction isn't super duper rare but it is pretty uncommon. Most pathospires would probably feel like they wasted time and energy and just move on. If other pathospires found out about Nova's feelings towards Twyla they wouldn't react in aghast horror so much as it'd just be like "Oh...Nova's a bit of a freak then"

What happens if a pathospire is born with undesirable traits? Will it die if it can't eat? Would it learn to adapt even with the hurdles it's been given and manage to feed? What would other pathospires think?

Pathospires can still feed passively, but they'd generally been seen as weaker and, for lack of a better term, "more pathetic". Nova actually has an...acquaintance(?) of a pathospire who they consider to be "very annoying" and considers their traits so unlikable that they accuse them of being a "mooch" off of other people's successes.

cn I get uhhhhh can pathospires feed unwillingly or is it like us where we have to physically eat? Like since there’s passive eating if you work at a graveyard, would a pathospire accidentally feed off of heartbreak or is that just not possible if they don’t want it

I would say a pathospires default state is "ready to eat" and that NOT eating is something that would take effort, energy, and restraint on their part.

So if a pathospire did not want to eat for some reason it is often easier for them to just leave the area than to try and restrain themselves
