Raced my first half marathon today! It was about 42 degrees and raining, which added an interesting element, haha. My pace wasn’t great, because I was sticking with my friend who was struggling a bit, but I still ran the whole way. I had thoughts of doing this race wayyyy back in the summer, so I feel really proud that I signed up, trained, and did the damn thing. No more races currently on the horizon for me.

I hope to be back with another update soon. Being a working mom is kicking my ass, and I’m still trying to find time for things like social media.

Tumbly friends, I’m a MOM. Surgery was good, baby is perfect, husby and I are incredibly in love with her. I’m sure I’ll be pretty MIA on here for a bit as we make the very big adjustment to parenthood.

On the fitness front, I’m looking forward to many stroller walks while I wait to be cleared to work out again. I’m going to start pelvic floor PT at six weeks to rehab my core effectively. If possible, I’d love to do my hometown sprint triathlon in late September, but I know it will depend on my recovery, and I’m okay being patient. I’m also eyeing my hometown half marathon in February. It would be my first, and it’s a net downhill course. I think it will be good to have a goal as I get back to being active with my new post-pregnancy, post-caesarean body.

I hope everyone’s summer is off to a great start.

Here is my face. I’m in line at the In n Out drive through. Husby is in Utah for a bachelor party, and my in-laws are visiting his sister, so it’s just baby girl and me this weekend. I’m going to PA for work on Monday, so I’m glad to have the extra mom-ing time before the trip.

Things are good here. I went to Durango last weekend for a bachelorette party and had way too many shrooms. I am not great at moderation.

First day back from maternity leave. Feelin ok! Yesterday I was really sad and even cried a little. Starting the new job today and excited about that. It was a really, really good six months off.

I am so late in posting this, but I had my first post-baby race last Saturday! I was only slightly worse than I usually am for these distances. I didn’t hydrate enough and so fought a side cramp during the run, but other than that, it felt great and wasn’t too taxing on my post-c-section bod. I have a 10k on Sunday and feel ready. The weather should be beautiful at 7am.

Tumbly friends, it has been too damn long! I’m sitting at the vet’s office while they perform Jasper’s well visit. We’re going to California for Thanksgiving and then India for the last week of November and first two weeks of December. Gotta make sure our boy is in tip-top shape before leaving him with grandma.

Life has been busy! Just mom-ing, working out, trying to have a social life. I applied for a new job at my company to start something new when I return to work in the new year. I had an informal interview today, and it went pretty well, I think. I’m sure they’ll do their other interviews when I’m out of the country, so I probably won’t know anything for a few weeks.

I spent the last few weeks getting everything ready for Christmas so we just have to soak up our traditions and baby’s first Christmas when we get back from our trip. House is decorated, presents are purchased and wrapped, cards are mailed.

I’ve been watching Golden Bachelor with a group of girlfriends, and it’s so nice to have that lil escape every Thursday night. I’ve also been helping with a local nonprofit, and husby and I attended their annual gala last Friday, which was fun. I signed up for that half marathon in Feb!

Okay, those are my updates. I’ll try to write more often because I love this place.

39 weeks tomorrow. I’m meeting this baby on Wednesday! Today is my husband’s birthday, so we’re seeing Transformers this afternoon and then getting takeout Indian. Tomorrow we’re meeting friends for breakfast and family for dinner. Sunday night we’re going out just the two of us to a steakhouse for our “last date”. This vegetarian will order many tasty sides 😂

The bump is bumpin’ these days. I’m going to a St. Patrick’s Day party, and this is the only green-ish clothing that (barely) fits. I ordered this jumpsuit for a Hawaiian-themed housewarming back in October. The last time I wore it I was only a few weeks pregnant and hoping desperately this kid would stick around. She did. ☺️

Going to a friend’s military retirement party. It’s a pool party with a red, white, and blue theme. My mom is coming over to take care of the baby. Luckily, the party is only a few houses down, so I’ll be able to come home and feed her every couple of hours. Wish me luck with my first baby-free social event!
