#snaredrumsaturday #Repost @pantheonpercuss ・・・ So today, I spent time building what I can only describe as a Tank of a snare: Custom 14x9 Raw Brass snare. This snare was tricked out with 10-lug Die-cast hoops, offset black chrome tube lugs in alternating lengths, DW MG + 3P throw offs andbutt, 42-strand Canopus Backbeat wires, 2 Badges with brass screws, and 3 Air vents. This snare sounds absolutely massive with a wide open sound and awesome projection WITH MUSICAL TONE. This might not be bell brass, but I say it’s pretty close, and at a fraction of the cost of a bell brass snare. It’s so heavy that even I have difficulty lifting it with one hand; this is an injury waiting to happen if you don’t treat it with respect. Use two hands and don’t try to be hero; you will hurt yourself. I expect to hear the howls of approval from the drummers that get to try this snare. Jut ask Dion. To all the bands out there: SPEC A PANTHEON KIT FOR YOUR SHOW. We will support the best we can! It was a happening weekend for Pantheon this week. Concurrent shows featuring our drums and products at three different venues in the midst of tightened restrictions. For the first time ever, a full Pantheon Purpleheart stave drum kit at the Esplanade Outdoor Theatre with @shanehengmusic and @danielchiaofficial and the Esplanade concourse with @thecubandrummer and his beautiful Amboyna Burl maple snare. George “The Hermit” Paul was at Timbre X @goodbyegardensg with @dyrtsg , playing a 13” stave snare which cracked the heck out of that outdoor venue. Thanks to @desireeorientay for the loan. Only the @loscabosdrumsticks 3A red hickory could handle the pounding that night and still get a full drum sound with clear cymbal sounds. He hit so hard that the coating of the Evans heads came off onto the sticks. There was no space for floor monitors so it was @fatfreq x @pantheon.sg PF2 IEM for click and @audiotechnicasea M50X limited edition purple headphones for monitoring over that. Completely refurbished Sonor Select Force maple snare. This snare had lugs which were worn out internally and could no longer be tuned but had a great shell, so we upgraded and swapped out all the hardware. A big thanks to all our super-loyal customers who have been so patient with us all this time. 14x2 “Stealth” pancake snare, done with natural finish and brass hardware. It’s one of those combinations that just works well. The “stealth” series is designed to have the slimmest profile of all the pancake snares: equipped with dual butt plates, tightening of snare wires is done entirely by hand with extra long straps for grip. Two knurled knobs are installed on one butt plate to release the snare wire quickly without the need for a drum key. No raised throw-offs to hook onto anything, and that truly allows you to slide it into a backpack or tote bag without it poking you in the side or back. 4-piece 10/12/13/20 “Urban” pancake kit in “Ocean Blue Fade” finish, safe at home with @tanlixing Here you can see it is set up with the mesh head as the batter head; he has neighbours with young children. Hitting the mesh heads still produces a low volume sound due to the shallow depth of the drums. If he ever wants to wake the neighbours, he can just flip the drums over and have a go. These drums are great for small locations and have a controlled, dry sound. Above all, they look gorgeous and his wife approves. 😂 Intrigued? Embarking on our journey to do better audio and video recordings of every drum that we put out. Many are completely unique, and once they leave the workshop, we won’t see them again for a long time, if ever. Yesterday, we just completed our first full pancake kit, in “stone washed jeans” finish. This 12/13/16/20 pancake kit was made from Birch for a full and punchy tone. Recording some basic audio of this will be fun. With the technical advice from several industry partners, i’m sure we will improve week by week.
