If you don't want to get burned out, read the ones for your favourite teams! The Midnight Wisps one is great. You can also find shorter summary versions on the wiki pages for each team. But if you're looking for specific recommendations- the Raspberry Racers one is partially in comic format, the Blackjacks one is the most recent, the Savage Speeders one is really long (10000+ words) and the Green Ducks one is very feelsy and a personal favourite.

at least in the English-language fandom, a lot of the shipping comes from the lore (for example, Whizzy and Swifty were originally written as a couple before that was retconned, while Momo and Prim have the Momary backstory), though some just comes from parallels between the particular marbles/their teams that could make for interesting interactions (Hazy and Snowflake comes from being ex-captains who quit their teams) and some comes from particular past events! hope that clarifies things
I didn’t know that about Whizzy and Swiftly! And yea the dynamic thing I assumed would be the case fir most of the ships.
This is giving me more insensitive to read through Project Marblearth aljsksjsjs. I rlly need to set time aside to dig through all the retroll perspectives.
Speaking of, is there a favorite? Any in specific that I should check out first? That would help prioritize where to start cause there are SO MANY teams to read through

If you'd like to have more to work with, I'd recommend reading through the works of Project Marblearth! They developed a lot of the original lore for JMR and their work contains a lot of characterization for different marbles. Your post also reminded of a piece of art which is one of the top posts of all time on the JMR subreddit, which has the marbles as giant orbs that their riders can roll around in.

Today is the release day of the fourth Marble League 2023 Memo, written by the team at Project Marblearth!
Marblearth wrote the original canon for the JMR teams in the form of the Retrollspectives, and still writes lore for each event today, adding to the teams' stories and the world of the channel.
