Something really funny to me about like, covid vaccine/masking specific conspiracy graffiti is that anti science weirdos seem to be very opposed to using a spray paint can. It's always like, chalk writings on the sidewalk, finger writing in window dust, a removable flyer lightly taped to a post. I just feel like if I were anti authoritarian I'd use something permanent y'know, like Id spraypaint that shit. It makes me smell fear when I see it, like blood in the water. like I could open my horrible jaws and swallow up the loser making those chalk screeds outside Provigo

to date the best stranger interaction I've ever had is the time I was in Montreal in 2013 getting groceries at provigo. It was monthly groceries, too much to carry home by myself, so I requested delivery at checkout, and the delivery guy was hovering in the area so when he saw me request delivery he was like "I'm gonna head over right away so why don't I drop you off too?" It was the middle of a snowstorm and I was so tired and he was so kind. I still think about him. I hope he's well.

Ben oui, Meta (Facebook) grimpe de 20% mais le titre avait perdu des gazillions. Intel et ses chips sont au mieux. Au Provigo, les sacs de chips sont passés de 1,25$ à 4,25$.

If you haven't heard already, the past month a movement has started to boycott Loblaws and the various franchises that the parent company owns (which is a lot, our whole grocery market is basically owned by 3 companies)

List of Subsidiaries: Loblaws, Atlantic Superstore, Dominion Stores, Extra Foods, Fortinos, Freshmart, Maxi, No Frills, No Name, President's Choice, President's Choice Financial, Provigo, Real Canadian Liquorstore, Real Canadian Superstore, Shoppers Drug Mart / Pharmaprix, SuperValu, T & T Supermarket, Valu-mart, Your Independent Grocer, and Zehrs Markets.

If anything getting the conversation going about this is a great first step. I know we can't all just avoid certain places, specially if it's the only grocery store nearby.

Housewife of the Year: I had to deep clean the house for Mom because I knew I'd be too tired/wouldn't have enough time later in the week. Everything but the room is done! I'm curious to see if I can keep it clean for a week without my stinky boyfriend around! Stinky boyfriend: I cried when I read Nick's note this morning and again when I was organizing his stuff in the medicine cabinet. I know he's only been gone for a few hours, but something about knowing I won't see him for over a week has put me in a contemplative funk. The truth is I don't think about our relationship too often because I feel so safe and happy inside of it. My brain leaves all its conceptual bandwidth for things like "do all my friends hate me?" or "did that thing I said at a party eight years ago offend anyone?" But jokes aside it is nice to have some space to think about Nick and I and how many exciting things we have coming up. Now I'm going to cry again!!! Maybe I'm Getting My Period: It would be really good timing to get my period this week.

What I Ate: Bagel with spinach and egg, ginger kombucha, greek salad (50% off from Provigo) with salmon. Will have LIVER for dinner! Debbie Lore: I talked to my Mom on the phone and she casually dropped one of her epic stories. Apparently my Dad came to the house once in the middle of the night and screamed at her about taking Nicole and I away. She slapped him and he called the cops. When the officer came the next day he called my Dad a LOSER and asked my Mom on a date! They went golfing! Listening/Watching: I listened to SALEM when I was cleaning. I only know about them because Lana Del Rey dated the singer. They're actually fire and would be great to listen to when KISSING. I think I'll watch Lost in Translation tonight because I've never seen it and the mood feels right. Till next time XOXO

Fruits et légumes de saison

J’ai remarqué que dans les pays occidentaux, comme au Canada par exemple, on achète les fruits et légumes dans les grosses épiceries. Provigo, Metro, IGA, un rayon entier de fruits et légumes, hors saison ou en saison, organiques ou pleins de pesticides, organiques et dans des sacs plastique mais obligé d’avoir un sac en tissu à la caisse. J’ai grandi en mangeant des agrumes uniquement en hiver, pleins de figues et de melon l’été, j’en mangeais tellement que j’avais hâte de manger des pommes et des mandarines quand venait l’automne. Chaque saison offre sa saveur, et on sait l’apprécier. J’ai l’impression que les gens sont impatients ici, on veut tout, tout de suite. En Algérie les fruits et légumes se vendent chez les marchands et maraîchers, on n’en trouve pas dans les épiceries. Ils viennent des champs proches de chaque ville, l’huile d’olive de Kabylie, les dattes du Sud. On n’a pas d’avocats, ou très rarement et pour très cher, je n’ai jamais vu de fruits de la passion ou fruit du dragon avant l’hiver dernier au Québec, l’endroit où on s’y attendrait le moins.
