[ad_1] All business class suites should have sliding doors, and I won’t hear otherwise. This is because they give privacy, are not an inconvenience (as some people say), and don’t even translate to that much greater cost for passengers. We’ve had some controversial opinions here at DMARGE. We’ve said kids shouldn’t be allowed in business class. We’ve said road cyclists don’t look cool (going out on a limb there, I know). We’ve even said that floating breakfasts are not all they’re cracked up to be. But today we have had what is, in our opinion, a fairly mild opinion. One that is quite hard to – from a passenger point of view – protest against. That opinion? All business class seats should have sliding doors. Qatar Airways already has them (see: The QSuite), Delta has them (see: the Delta One Suites) and British Airways and Etihad are rolling it out. Air France also just unveiled a new business class with sliding doors, too. Qatar Airways’ Qsuite. Image Credit: Airline Ratings. But the rest of the pack have not yet followed, perhaps due to cost, and perhaps due to the fact that some business class passengers don’t appear to care whether or not their suite has a sliding door. Some passengers have even complained (on online forums) that sliding doors are claustrophobic and not worth the extra cost (which the airline pays in installing them and which is then presumably passed on to the customer). But when we look at business class suites like that on Singapore Airlines’ A380s, or Cathay Pacific, or Emirates, some of which can be turned into ‘love nests’ (internally, with the seat next to them), it seems absurd that there is no option for an outside divider. Singapore Airlines’ A380 business class. No sliding doors in sight.Even if many business class passengers spend most of the flight with their sliding doors pushed back, they are a gold mine for making you feel safe and secure, and to give you privacy while you sleep. Above all: they are an option (not something foisted upon you, which you have to use). They’re also not even that much more expensive. One way business class Sydney to London flights on Qatar Airways, for instance, on the 1st of August, are currently being sold for $11,052. There are also multiple other business class fares (from Sydney to London) that day for $7,300 on Qatar Airways (and on the days next to it) for $6,400. A Singapore Airlines business class fare (which does not have sliding doors), one way, from Sydney to London, on the 1st of August, however, at the time of writing, costs $10,488 (there are also a couple for $8,063). Singapore Airlines also has a first/suites option for $11,000 or so. But from a passenger point of view, we would like to humbly suggest that they just add sliding doors to all their business class seats too… Read Next [ad_2] Source link

Which industries can support the service as a brand experience model?
Airlines, especially long-haul international flights, are an incredibly competitive space, especially in Asia. Between Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines, Qantas, and now the EMEA upstarts of Qatar Airways and Emirates, getting from point A to point B is not a trivial decision.
In addition, the quality of those experiences has continued to grow, as higher margin seating options continues to be a focus for these airlines - Business & First class tickets often cost 5-6x as much as an economy ticket on the same flight.
However, with those quality experiences - the expectations continued to increase as well. In some ways, airlines are the poster child for service as a brand differentiator, as they meet the requirements in terms of margins, retention/loyalty and stickiness of a positive experience, or competitiveness of alternatives.
Two notes I found interesting here were the "two levels up" decision making, as being told I have to check with my supervisor rarely improves an individuals experience.
When looking at other industries, it's a little more difficult to see this work the same way.
We've seen companies like Barney's struggle before the pandemic, as the high-value customer with high-touch and personalized experience model was being upset by online upstarts and personal stylists. Uber & Lyft commoditized the personal driver market, so their loyalty programs are difficult to make valuable enough to change personal behavior. E-Commerce has similar challenges - high-end companies like Moda Operandi or second-hand options like Vestiaire Collective have personal shoppers/account managers for high net worth clients, but it's still difficult to maintain that level of support when the purchases are so few and far between, even with the insane margins they're seeing. Zappo's used that successfully on the internet, but their true product improvement was in the free returns process, which was a factor in their user experience.
As such, I'm still struggling to see which industries have large enough margins and common enough purchases to replicate the service quality based model to the scale and extremes that the airline industry has successfully used it.

Südafrika 2019 - Teil 1
4. Dezember 2019
Herrschaften!

Top 10 Airlines in  the Year of 2018
10. Thai Airways
Starting from the bottom, we have Thai Airways. The national flag carrier of Thailand really got slowly but surely in at Top 10 list. In 2015 it placed 19th, and in 2016 the airline improved to 13th. In 2017 Thai Airways almost cracked the top 10, but unfortunately, it did not make it so it falls to 11th.
Finally, in 2018, it managed to claim its place in the top 10! Their hard work eventually had to pay off. The airline is currently undergoing changes, namely upgrading its fleet and reorganizing its network, Best of luck to them for 2019.
9. Garuda Indonesia
Second on the Best Airlines Of 2018 list is Garuda Indonesia. As the name suggests, the Indonesian airline has always make way to have a position around the top 10 list. Last year Garuda Indonesia was 10th, while in 2016 the airline fell out of the top 10 list. Nevertheless, the airline has shown consistently that it is one of the best carriers in the world.
The national flag carrier of Indonesia has also received the award of having the best Cabin Crew for 4 years in a row now. Garuda Indonesia is widely recognized as one of the best options to choose when traveling in the South East Asia region and this is why we put it on the list!
8. Hainan Airlines
One of the major airlines of China, Hainan has shown a consistently excellent customer experience throughout the years. That is why the airline has firmly cemented its place in the list for a few years now.
Surprisingly, Hainan Airlines did not even make the Top 10 in 2015 – it ranked 22nd! What a way to improve over 3 years. The airline has this tendency to improve rather quickly, as the airline is the largest civilian-run airline in China. Also, Hainan Airlines is number 4 in terms of the largest airlines in China.
Additionally, Hainan Airlines is also one of 11 carriers in the world, that Skytrax has rated as a 5-star airline.
7. Lufthansa
One of the oldest airlines on the list of Best Airlines of 2018, the German airline established its roots in 1926. At the time, the airline was called Deutsche Luft Hansa. Anyhow, over the past few years, it improved its exceptionally good customer experience record and that is why Lufthansa is 7th.
As is Hainan Airlines, Skytrax rated Lufthansa as a 5-star airline. It was the first European airline to join the elite club. Lufthansa became a 5 star rated airline in late 2017. To celebrate it, the airline event painted 2 aircraft, an Airbus A320 and a Boeing 747 in a 5starhansa livery.
Which is very cheeky, to say the least.
6. Cathay Pacific
At number 6 is Cathay Pacific – the flag carrier of Hong Kong. One of the few airlines in the world to operate an all wide-body aircraft fleet, the Hong Kongese airline is also a 5-star airline.
Regarding its ranking, the airline isn’t a new face here. It won the award of being the best airline in the world in 2003, 2005, 2009 and finally in 2014. Unfortunately, since then it has not been on the top step of the Top 10 Best Airlines list. In 2017, the airline placed 5th.
Nevertheless, those numbers are still impressive and Cathay Pacific consistently ranks as one of the best airlines roaming the skies.
5. EVA Air
Most of us probably know the airline as the one which uses very cute and fun liveries, EVA Air also provides customers with an exceptional quality of service.
Although it has never won an award for being the best airline in the world, EVA Air has always been present in the top 10. With persistence and hard work, the airline achieved its highest position in the past few years.
And hopefully, we will see more of the fun and cartoony liveries for many more years, as they decorate the skies like nobody else!
4. Emirates
Emirates is a mixed bag in these awards. The airline was 4th last year. However, 2 years ago they claimed the top spot.
In total, the Middle Eastern airline has won the award 4 times. Nevertheless, the airline is renowned for its luxurious facilities in airports and on the aircraft.
And its influence is so strong, that it single-handedly forced Airbus to cancel the Airbus A380 program.
Okay, that might have been quite a hyperbole. But it is not far from the truth – as the aircraft manufacturer said it themselves, that when Emirates lowered the number of its orders for the A380, the program was not sustainable anymore. But even so, the A380 had a number of other problems.
Anyway, we hope Emirates regains it’s from and climbs back on top of the list!
3. ANA – All Nippon Airways
Featured as the airline with one of the most beautiful special liveries in the world, the airline is also known amongst flyers for its one-of-a-kind customer experience.
Also being a 5-star airline, All Nippon Airways has kept its spot it earned in 2017. ANA kept climbing the ladder, being 7th in 2015, and going up every single year. The exception, of course, is 2018. The airline finished in its highest ever finish on the Best Airlines of 2018 list.
However, we think 2019 might be another chance for the airline to climb a bit higher. Because Airbus will deliver the new, turtle-like Airbus A380, to ANA. It will be the first Super Jumbo in the Japanese carrier’s fleet.
2. Qatar Airways
Joining the “4-time winner” club, Qatar Airways, unfortunately, had to cede its positions as the best airline in the world to the winner we will announce soon.
On the other hand, the airline’s representatives shouldn’t be saddened by the 2nd place. Their patience, hard work into making one of the best airlines in the world did not go by unnoticed by the people. Established 26 years ago, it has managed to grow to an exceptional level of comfort, luxury and most importantly, quality. Qatar Airways is definitely an example of how much can you do when someone puts in the effort.
Oh, by the way, Qatar Airways is the only airline on this list to make it to the list of the most punctual airlines in 2018.
1. Singapore Airlines
Known for its exceptional luxurious cabins for passengers, there is not much surprise there that Singapore Airlines has claimed the number one spot on the Best Airlines of 2018 list.
The reasons are pretty obvious. The airline provides exceptional quality to its passengers. Furthermore, its main hub, Singapore Changi International Airport is known for its magical and entertaining exhibitions throughout the years. It even has its own amusement park for goodness sake. Additionally, recently the airport decorated its Terminals with various Harry Potter memorabilia and moments from the films.
Singapore Airlines also flies the longest non-stop route between Singapore and Newark, lasting over 18 hours.
Singapore Airlines won the award for a record-tying 4th time. Congratulations to them!
So, to sum up, here are the Top 10 Best Airlines of 2018:
Singapore Airlines
Qatar Airways
ANA All Nippon Airways
Emirates
EVA Air
Cathay Pacific
Lufthansa
Hainan Airlines
Garuda Indonesia
Thai Airways

As of February 2022, what is the world's largest twin-engine jet airliner?
Tumblr media
The Boeing 777 are the world's largest twin-engine jet airliner. They are often called the 'Triple Seven' and can carry up to 368 passengers. The first 777 model (777-200) entered service in 1995 and all subsequent models have increased in size. As of February 2022, the largest is the 777 X, which had its first flight in 2020 but will not be officially introduced until 2024.
A twin-engine jet airliner is an airplane with two large engines. They are more fuel-efficient than planes with several single engines and can function with one engine if necessary.
The 777X has longer wings than its predecessors with folding wingtips. It is the first aircraft to have 'Wingtip Controls' inside the cockpit. Since 2013, airlines have been putting in orders for the much-anticipated 777X. As of January 2022, 334 have been ordered. Lufthansa was the first airline to request the model, followed by Etihad Airways, Cathay Pacific, Emirates, Qatar Airways, All Nippon Airways, Singapore Airlines and British Airways.
More than 60 airlines use at least one version of the Boeing 777. Emirates Airlines has the most, with around 100 in service and on order. Other airlines that operate a lot of 777s include United Airlines, Air France, and American Airlines.

As a result of changes in business models, shifting conditions, and a competitive airline market, the airline industry is undergoing massive transformations. The scrapping of flight details is considered a must for airline firms. iWeb Scraping scrapes a variety of data fields, including airline information, ticket pricing, special offers, and more.
Target Specific Travel and Airline Websites
The list of websites to be scraped is the first phase in our web scraping service. Targeted websites should be carefully picked because the quality of the generated information is strongly reliant on them. Goibibo, TripAdvisor, Flightradar24, Cleartrip, MakeMyTrip, Booking, Agoda, and others are just a few of the websites we scrape.
You must make a list of the factors that must be scraped. Trip IDs/names, trip day, arrival time, departure time, flight name, location code, number of stops, flight price monitoring, and many other factors will be considered for airline company websites.
