Has Ben's habit of casual flirting caused any problems for him or the team?

Probably not as much as his casual flexing with Omnitrix tbh xD Which is basically flirting for this guy!

Though admittingly HoM Ben is not as flirty as it might seem at first. As he grew up, it became, as you said, a habit - more of a part of his heroic/public persona that he developed after becoming a hero celebrity across the (alien part of) universe.

It tends to make people (especially those who know him by his reputation first) feel easier around him and/or underestimate him if he is just some silly guy who flirts. (I mean he is silly guy who casually flirts, but he is also just a dude and so much more, as we all know.)

There were a few instances when it brought trouble, but also sometimes it helped them out too. But, let's just say that HoMies tend to look out for Ben not to say something unfortunate whenever he tends to be too friendly.

Actually there is another casual flirter in their friend group that brings almost as much trouble as Ben - it's Jake! Some of his casually flirty/overly friendly behaviour can be attributed to him becoming an American Dragon in his early teens (he really enjoyed his newfound cool dragon powers and popularity amongst magical folk), and some of it is just his personality (his behaviour was incredibly cringy at times when he was younger, but as he matured, it changed into something a little bit more charming).

When those two are on a mission together, others have to work overtime to keep an eye on them.

Which is ironic, because I 100% headcanon almost all of the HoMies masters of accidental rizz: they make people like them just by being themselves lol.

I think it’s undeniable that a major character trait of q!Foolish is how much he desires to be special.

( character analysis time! :D )

q!Foolish constantly chases rare items and special things that nobody else has, and wants them for himself:

The second he saw the flying cloud he said he’d do almost anything to have it. When he saw what the rare sunbird was, he worked hard to finally catch one. He was sooooo attached to his first gun, and was very upset when it got taken from him- even saying that part of his personality was taken along with it

And q!Foolish always wants to obtain a status that’s special, to be friends with special people:

He wanted to be KELP - King Emperor Lord President. He tried for months to be Cucurucho’s best friend, an entity he believes is special and powerful. He got envious of Jaiden seeming to be more preferred by them: “why do you get special treatment from Cucurucho all the time and not me?” and felt one-sidedly betrayed when Cucurucho didn’t reciprocate the friendship. Immediately afterwards he recovered by wanting to become the code entity’s friend, another entity that is special.

When he lost all provisional lives and KELP along with it, he was sad for a moment but again quickly recovered by remembering his friendship with the capybaras, who are more special entities, and decided to be their KOC - King of Capybaras.

q!Foolish is a character who’s constantly chasing after what he views as being special. why? Is it purely for the way it makes him feel, for what he can gain doing it? or is there a deeper reason- is he trying to prove himself or cope with something? maybe it’s part of the character’s backstory we don’t know?

Either way, it’s getting intense now because the Federation has identified this trait in him and knows exactly how to use it.

Cucurucho, who didn’t reciprocate the friendship before is suddenly calling Foolish their friend out of nowhere, just like he’d wanted. And convincing him to work for the Federation because he’s so special and unique, he’s different from everyone else, he’s the only one for this position!

Cleverly appealing to his desires by using Mr Mustard’s disappearance as motivation, that’s his favorite capybara and he wants to be the King of Capybaras after all. Then finally, handing him a shiny gold badge that nobody else on the island has.

It’s emotional and psychological manipulation tactics that the Federation has shown they’re great at, and q!Foolish is being affected by it.

What’s gonna happen when he’s pulled so deep into the Federation’s web he can no longer see the red blinking sign of ESCAPE?

Why Practicing Your Dream Self Privately is so Important

We all have versions of ourselves we want to be. Let’s call her “She.”

She may be smart, beautiful, oh-so-sophisticated, knows exactly what She’s doing when walks into a room full of unknown people, accomplished…everything you’re aching to be.

You’re struggling to achieve Her because you’re not used to being Her. You keep that version 2.0 of yourself in your thoughts but you don’t practice it irl.

Not practicing it means that when you suddenly have to turn on your charm or have to remember etiquette in the presence of company, you can’t seem to recall those practices. Perhaps you might even feel uncomfortable, shy or awkward trying to remember all those talking points you had noted down, the “elegant gestures” that one tiktoker talks about constantly… suddenly you’re wondering how on Earth you can leave this godawful event without seeming rude.

The problem is lack of practice. You’re so used to sitting on your couch at home with your legs spread wider than a man on a metro seat that it feels uncomfortable to now sit in a mannered way at the office dinner with the important employees. Your stomach is so used to gobbling down food without patience that you look longingly at the bread basket longer than the person seated in front of you.

So therefore, if at home you’re not used to being even half of your best self, how are you going to feel fully confident when you’re supposed to bring “Her” out?

Obviously being fully dolled up at home makes little sense. But if you don’t practice the manners, the behaviour, the etiquette of Her - how will you comfortably transition into Her?

Do you expect to just wake up someday and become Her? Do you not think that it will take time, energy, practice to get what you want?

No amount of senseless manifesting or daydreaming is going to make your dreams come true.

Certain habits, gestures, expressions will only come naturally to you when you make them natural to yourself by way of practice.

You’ve read enough, saved and liked enough posts, you’ve learned all the mumbo jumbo theory to getting your life together but it’s all useless if you don’t put your learnings to practice irl.
