pissa qrystal gems poooog ^-^ an iolite, a chrysoberyl, and black tourmaline! i forgot to note it on the actual thing but missa’s gem is on his lower back, you can’t actually see it when they’re fused

i feel like i’m gonna end up tweaking missa’s design at some point, and i might add some more shades of grey to tourmaline, but i’m fine with this for now lol

also pls imagine that tourmaline is like twice the size of phil 👍 also also this isn’t part of the gemcyt au so pls don’t tag it as that thnx

was looking at the wiki page for fusions and it mentioned that fusions generally occur when two gems have synchronised goals/thoughts and well. what better way to fuse for the first time than while trying to save your weird little rock child from shattering

they don’t even realise they’re fused until after they’re sure juanaflippa is safe and then they just immediately fall apart lol

tazercraft kinda give me permafusion vibes so here. they’re rocks now. a ruby and a blue pearl :] and their fusion, rhodonite. pretty heavily based on the canon rhodonite lol

notes —

- the glasses don’t have lenses ruby/mike just wears them because he thinks they make him look smart

- the lab coat thing on rhodonite is optional

- haven’t designed them yet but mikes weapon is a war hammer that’s twice his size (at my little brothers suggestion), pac’s is an electrified spear, and rhodonites is a big electrified pick axe :D

slime is a nephrite, mariana is a jasper that came out a bit wrong (he’s a little overcooked) and their fusion is bloodstone! bloodstone is shockingly stable all things considered but he does tend to fall apart pretty easily outside of combat situations jhsbjd

i haven’t thought of a weapon for slime yet but mariana’s is a battle axe! i’ll figure out bloodstones after i work out slimes lol

okay. i will say. never decided who would replace steven in this au if anyone because i changed up a lot of stuff. i also don’t have everyone’s gem assignments and alignments down. rip

BUT some stuff i do have —

the way the eggs factor in is they’re like pebbles! those little guys that live in pink diamonds walls you know the guys. they’re a bit bigger though, more actually child-sized. maybe? idk. but anyways they’re not servants. i also haven’t quite figured out the specifics of why they exist and why gems need to look after them. i did have a reason at one point but i forgor.. the federation serves as homeworld so i guess one idea is them being an experiment in making gems that are specifically made to be able to grow and change rather than having to choose to do so like regular gems. i feel like i explained that weird but i’m very tired lol. but anyways random gems assigned as parent figures to mimic humans? maybe? idk

anyways this is all i have so far in regards to gems and alignments —

i’ve been meaning to do more but i do kinda just assign gems as i draw characters [except etoiles, haven’t drawn him yet i just felt like he’d make a great bismuth]

the “group” column is for stuff like the crystal gems and the off colours and just like, what they’re part of separate from their specific alignment. this is a very half formed au If You Can’t Tell. also don’t ask what the codes faction is i forgot that too LMAO this is a mess. listen this au is mainly just for fun character design stuff it’s not a very thinky one u.u id like it to be but alas

biggest updates:

wilbur and dan are both human. wilbur was aviva’s idea as a way to explain why tallulah is being raised by phil, i’ve decided he’s gonna be the mailman

maxo is, in fact, our rose quartz [tho that may not end up being his gem? unsure rn]

the eggs aren’t pebbles anymore! also aviva’s idea. they’re earth kindergarten gems that the other gems take in and look after, sorta like amethyst in the show. their “parents” are just whoever finds them first. wilbur found tallulah while he was on a mail run just wandering around or maybe chilling in a hole somewhere so that’s why he’s her parent, they got attached. i think this is maybe gonna be an era 3 thing where the alignments don’t matter as much just so that homeworld and earth gems can still coparent but it could also work in era 2, just have like a lapis and peridot situation where some homeworld gems move to earth and defect later on

again. aviva’s idea, aypierre is a same-gem fusion. i don’t super understand pierre’s lore but e does so i’m trusting em on this lol

BASICALLY talking to my friend about this helped a lot and some things make a lot more sense now. and i think all the eggs are gonna be different gems, just for fun. or at the very least they’re not all gonna be the same gem type
