Colin: *enters the drawing room in Bridgerton House* Penelope? What are you doing here?
Penelope: *trying to make Augie stop pulling her hair while holding Belinda in her arms* Au! Uh, I was drinking tea with your mother while she was taking care of Augie and Belinda and then there was some emergency so she had to go. Au! Augie, it hurts! She asked me to mind them for a moment.
Colin: *grinning* I assume that a moment passed a long time ago. Am I right?
Penelope: Well, yes. Au!
Colin: Do you need help?
Penelope: Please, be that kind and take Augie's hands off my hair. Belinda fell asleep and I do not want to wake her up.
Colin: Of course.
Colin starts to untangle Augie's hands from her hair. He gets excited when he touches the silky locks and even when Penelope doesn't have any baby's hands close to her hair he still doesn't move away.
Penelope: *frowning* Colin, are you well?
Colin: You have beautiful hair.
Penelope: *snorts* I assure you that red hair is not something that is considered beautiful among the Ton.
Colin: The Ton does not know shit.
Penelope: *scandalized but also very sheepish at the same time* Colin! Do not curse with the children in the room!
Colin: I apologize. *looking at how close Belinda's head is to Penelope's bosom* Oh, I would like to be in the same place as her.
Penelope: Do you mean dreamland?
Colin: *wipes dribble of saliva from the corner of his mouth* Something like that.

Okay but can you imagine an AU of Bridgerton where Lord Ledger ends up a hot and somewhat-young widower and he and Lady Danbury are married for the events of the rest of the novels to just cackle over their entire freaking horde of grandchildren together?
THE SCENE:
Agatha: *storms in* “I want grandchildren!”
Ledger: *puts down his book* “Don’t we have about 30 of them?”
Agatha: *fans out several miniatures* “I want these specific additional ones.”
Ledger: *examines the pictures* “Gareth St. Clare is already our grandson.”
Agatha: “I can double up if I want to!”
Ledger: “Of course dear.”

Omg I actually did a little research and this sad folklore tale has a sequel track called The Cajun Queen and it "tells the story of The Cajun Queen rescuing John from the mine and wedding him to have many children with him."
My heart! 😭💘
