The old town hall of Lindau on Lake Constance. Coming from the Römerschanze, the path leads to Reichsplatz with the Lindavia fountain and the old town hall. The richly painted town hall was built in 1422/36 in place of a vineyard and shows styles of all centuries. The large Gothic hall of the town hall was the scene of an Reichstag in 1496. The ground floor houses the city archive and the former Reichsstädtische Bibliothek with more than 23,000 works from all fields of knowledge from the 14th century to the present day. Built from 1422 to 1436 in Gothic style, the house was later adapted to the Renaissance style. Striking stepped gables and the splendid, richly painted façade make the Old Town Hall one of the most important sightseeing attractions in Lindau. HEIMATFORSCHUNG Jetzt wohne ich schon mehr als zehn Jahre in Potsdam und noch immer gibt es Neues zu entdecken. Heute zum Beispiel die Römerschanze, eine der ältesten Wehranlagen Europas aus der späten Bronzezeit von ca 1.250 bis 550 vor Christus. Die Römer waren allerdings nie dort. Dafür ich. Und das Ganze nur 15min von meinem Zuhause entfernt! Es hat also auch etwas Gutes, daß ich wegen einer erneuten Erkältung mal wieder nicht laufen kann. Zeit, die Heimat und den Überfluss an Sehenswertem weiter zu erkunden!
