I think the reason any EveryoneLives/NobodyDies AU I can think of for Outsiders feels… hollow, comes down to choice.

Every single death on the OutSiders SMP involved choice. Every one. Guts is the closest you get to an exception. And even then they still had the option to turn and fight, or never trust Owen to begin with.

Think about it:

Squidney CHOOSES to sacrifice herself for Magic. Ash Chooses to try and get to safety in the clearing (and I would posit that she knew she’d never make it, but she chose to try any way).

Mowhee chooses sacrifice, going so far as to tell the others to ‘take care of each other.’ Oeca is the best example, choosing to kill himself and go out that way. Rasbi knows she’s dying and instead of trying to save herself she chooses to kill her own killer and that of her sister. Bekymon cuts the rope to save the group. Ayngel chooses to get left behind. Knowing exactly what will happen. Ori too.

Appo chooses to run, he chooses to try and reason with Owen, he could have had a chance to save himself. He chose not too. Owen? Owen knew EXACTLY what he was doing. He chose to tear his own world to pieces.

And here’s the thing: You could ‘fix’ all of this. You could have them choose differently, you could change the circumstances, because writing lets you do that. But you will still be left with the knowledge that you are now writing a different character.

Because everything about these characters, everything they do for the narrative, leads up to that final choice.

Selfless sacrifice, desperate self sabotage, a morbid non-faith in family and home, bitter revenge. The knowledge that peace is always fleeting. That there is something more to live for. That it doesn’t matter who you used to be, just who you are today.

These, and more, are the stories the outsiders, and particularly their deaths, tell. Anything less would feel like a shell that the innards were scooped out.

AU IDEA - Danganronpa x OutsiderSSMP

oh I should have been working on the animatic but I do what I do.

So hello everyone! I don't usually post stuff like this because I'm not much of a writer however after brainstorming a drawing I thought that it seemed an awful like a danganronpe execution... So I present to the people of Outsiderssmp tumblr. My little brainstorm for an AU based around Danganronpa and its killing game. For the scrunkies who practically did that without a monokuma.

MCs - Owen and Magic

Trial one -

Note: I support woman and gay crimes /hj (PLEASE ITS /HJ) I also figured since they never had a good relationship in the first place that Guts would like to get the first blood on someone they would find annoying, and I think Mohwee's character is very out there even in the canon. I just think they would argue and something would go wrong.

Verdict: Guts || Victim: Mohwee

Trial two:

Note: Oeca kills for revenge for Mohwee's death however its mixed with his own loneliness convincing Squidney to let him kill her. I would imagine this to be the loudest murder yet the quietest. I feel like people tend to forget the second trials in Dangan games, and I feel like this would have the same vibe. Still heartbreaking though.

Verdict: Oeca || Victim: Squidney

Note: Apo gets accused at first of killing him and after trial people still suspect him -> Isolated from rest of group -> Owen kills him after “???”

I really like the idea of sticking with the canon with this, they dont find out about Apo's death until MUCH later.

Trial three -

Note: I like this one simply because it plays along with the actual canon, except its people who LIVED after Bek's show but die here due to Bek's desperation to leave. She kills people she was close by proximity to but actively decides to spare Magic despite her being the most obvious target for her.

Verdict: Bek || Victim: El and Ayngel

Trial Four -

Note: Apo is finally found after the events of Bek's trial and they find him in a unlikely yet peaceful spot. This is the part of the AU where we would find out Owen's true identity and how his perspective would slowly turn,, a bit strange. Suspicious and Magic can sense it but glosses over it until the last moment when Owen reveals himself and faces no remorse until the last second when he is faced with Rasbi and eventually Apo as he dies.

Verdict: Owen || Victim: Apo

Trial Five

Note: Oh, it's the reverse this time, now that we know that Krow isn't all that powerful I would like to imagine that its Kyle that finds this out by trying to kill it and succeeding thinking he did a good thing. When in reality it would lead to his downfall -> Kyle and Acho ending once again the same but in a different way

Verdict: Kyle || Victim: Krow

Survivors

Magic, Graecie, Red, Acho, Spidey, Eryn and Rasbi (yes rasbi survives, shocker)

I don't have much to say about the survivors really, most of them are either way too nice for anyone to have killed them off or managed to slip through by not making too many enemies (cough red). Specifically, Graecie was always going to survive with Magic,, girlbossduo will live on.

If this gets enough attention, I will be considering writing more for it or if anyone would like to pick up the AU idea you can message me cause I would be willing to help out!

But for now I have other work to attend to o/

HI i'm coming in here with an ask since i have a lot of thoughts but this is a continuation of the whole split personality / headcanoning c!Owen with DID (or any other dissociative disorder that fits that thread)

he's a guy that has complicated morals and ALSO i still don't understand where the whole separation of him into the Pre-maze & Maze started. Like... he's the same guy he's always been, just with a very skewed judgement that really is more to be blamed on STARR than anything! I'm firmly of the belief that STARR controlled when/if people remembered things, and I still think they weaponized him remembering his past fully.

see also: the scene with magic leaving him to die. like. did people seriously fall for that? it was basically textbook trying to get somebody to believe what you want them to. hell! he tried to do the same thing to c!redd only for it to backfire. like...

as somebody with a dissociative disorder, i genuinely don't see it? it just ticks me off, lol

people are just afraid of liking a character they don't agree with. which is just dumb. c!owen is an irredeemable asshole as far as i'm concerned, but does that stop people from writing him as trying to be good / trying to be a good person? no! you're allowed to just backpedal and say "i don't agree with canon" without some bs poorly thought through headcanon that just hurts people.

((( none of any hostile tone here is directed at you btw salty!! i just have Thoughts and Emotions and i didn't feel like trying to put it all in tags pfndkjl ;; i'm a huge advocate for writing c!owen being terrible because people don't seem to like the concept of him not being secretly a good person... he was protecting the demons because he subconsciously wanted to be the one to kill them, man. i'm 99% sure that's literally canon )))

THERE ARE SO MANY BETTER WAYS TO MAKE THING BETTER WITH OUT HAVING TO RESORT TO DID.

LITERALLY JUST HAVE A CHARACTER TALK TO HIM AND IT WOULD BE MORE UNDERSTANBLE

ALSO THE SCENE WITH MAGIC, THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN SAYING LIKE. I COULD WRITE AN ENTIRE 5 PAGE ESSAY ON HOW HE IS VERY CLEARLY LYING. You can tell by the tone of his voice, where he pauses and what he choices to emphasize , he repeats himself to make the same point, he weaponizes magics guilt, he holds eye contact with the knife for FAR to long, and if he WAS SOMEHOW ACTUALLY BEING TRUE i think he wouldn't be all that upset at dyeing and understand that he was protecting his friends in doing so. it just doesn't line up.

AND IT WAS ALWAYS THERE TOO!

of course there was everything with Fruit trio. He was called militaristic during the elections. the first thing he asks Krow is if it knows how to fight. first interaction with Krow in clearing a is asking to get a closer look at its horns. he was really the only one to ever draw that distinction between the human and demons. no one else ever brought it up. everything with the weapons. the first thing he calls himself after making the bow is a "hunter" which isn't wrong. he just didn't realize what exactly he was hunting. HE WOKE UP WITH RASBI IN THE ELEVATOR. LIKE THERE IS SO MUCH FORESHADOWING. IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN APART OF HIM.

Im also sure the whole STARR controlling when they get memories back is cannon. along with he whole protecting demons thing, its part of his monologue when he kills Rasbi.

i never liked that head cannon and im glad to finally be able to talk about it with someone who understands what im saying when i rant about it.

Alright here again but this time I take my happy Au and offer you sadness. Please enjoy sad head cannons from this Au

-Through Reddons does call all of the Outsiders friends he has trouble feeling connected to the demons or humans since he covers his face the entire time and no one knows what he is and he never feels like theirs a good time to share

-Mohwee gets panicked if he loses sight of people who come into the maze with him, he logically knows they won’t leave him behind but he can’t help but be jumpy

-When Krow does find out that It’s not actually a Dragonborn and It’s just a normal Demon It feels terrible about it. It hates how terrible the news makes It feel even more though because It hates who It was before, It doesn’t want to be that person again, but It’s still so devastated to learn that It’s not special at all and It falls in a viscous cycle of self loathing over it

-Beks never gets to properly preform for an audience that isn’t the Outsiders and though she refuses to fixate on it, it leaves a whole in her heart. It’s a dream she will never be able to achieve.

-Acho refuses to go swimming for a long time after his drowning incident

-Magic becomes so fixated on ending all of the Maze business and the orphanage that the others have to hold an intervention to finally get her to stop running herself into the ground

-Guts doesn’t want to be alone again after leaving the maze but doubts that anyone would want to stick with them when they all seem to have much better friends

-When Owen and Apo meet up in the maze they both reveal to the other they got their memories back but try to hide it from the rest of clearing because they don’t want to ruin things just as they’re calming down so for weeks after coming back to the clearing they isolate from the others

-During that time Owen seriously consider just disappearing into the Maze because he’s scared that he might still hurt someone through the prejudice that he’s only now starting to unlearn

-The fact that they hide this made things even worse when Rasbi finally gets her own memories back.

-Ayngel’s siblings don’t recognize her at first when she finally gets home

-After leaving the maze but before splitting off into groups the stress of everything catches up to Graecie finally and she just breaks down in sadness and anger and now that no one’s life rest on her keeping her cool she just can’t process everything and for several days she is inconsolable

-Ori blames himself for what happened to Clearing 2 because he technically pulled the levers first

-Magic and Owen have a big blow up fight because Magic feels like Owen is protecting her too much and refusing to let her stand up for herself and during this argument Owen brings up Squidney almost dying last time he trusted Magic to handle herself and she just froze up and he and Mohwee had to step in to save both of their lives.

-When Bekyamon loses loses her leg to trap in the maze she’s bleeding out she can’t stop thinking about how she never got a really chance to apologize so she writes a note out to everyone to let them know she’s sorry in case she dies and they find her body

-After getting injured while hunting the Griever when Squidney wakes up in Soup’s house she firmly believes she’s dead and for years and years after she still has days where she wakes up and thinks nothing is real and it’s just the afterlife.

-Oeca once tried to take his own eye out in hopes that it would make his other half go away.

-Before Krow and Kyle work out their issues fully Kyle gets lost in the dark maze and while dehydrated and hungry he hallucinates versions of Krow that mock and belittle him about dying alone with no one knowing what even happened to him. When he finally does make it back he can’t look Krow in the eyes for weeks after. Even after sometimes Krow’s jokes and jabs at him feel too personal and make him flinch.

- After setting up his home with Owen Apo will sometimes freak out while away from the house and come rushing back expecting everything to be burning down and destroyed.

-After a fight with Mohwee about him luring the creature away in the dark Maze Spidey in a rage breaks the very first Sussy she ever gave him

-Ayngel was once telling Oeca off for being reckless and accidentally called him by one of her siblings names

-Eventually it comes out to Rasbi’s family that she’s still in contact with Owen. The ensuing fight ends with Rasbi leaving her home for good, only visiting occasionally and always leaving randomly to make sure no one follows her. She realizes that she’s not the same Rasbi she had been before and she can’t truly be herself living there anymore, so she moves in with the rest of the Fruit Trio.

-Soup doesn’t know how to take care of herself at all, but refuses to burden others with her stress and exhaustion so a lot of the sleep she gets is her passing out from exhaustion alone while working on potions

-After getting his memories back Owen has no intention of surviving the Maze and fully plans to die protecting and helping the others escape, he considers it recompense for his crimes. He served his country to the bitter end and the outsiders deserve more of his loyalty than that city ever did. So when he does survive and suddenly has to deal with living life, with no duty, or higher purpose to ascribe to he feels more lost then he ever has.

-Every last one of the Outsiders has horrible nightmares about both inside and outside of the maze. It’s not unusual to find people up at all hours because they can’t sleep or had just woken up screaming.

-The paranoia over being dragged back to Maze and losing all their memories again never leaves any of them. It fades to almost nothing but they still fear it happening, no matter how unlikely it is, till the day they die.

I write....um..oh. oh gosh...uhhhh...how do i begin to describe this. you know what? that'll be my little secret. if you like keeping so many than we deserve to keep some from you to! good luck figuring it out. you'll never guess >:)

Oh! and to answer some other questions i noticed you were curios about, i know other have aswell but......if you want my story? i um....i haven't always been one of your voices. well i guess i kinda was? but. i wasn't able to speak the first time. only watch. but this way i watched so many others as well. it was great! i even got to view things from....other....versions of you? nothing. ok. don't worry about it.

but! i accidentally found something and it gave me a way to communicate and now im here! and im here.....and.....unable to leave. so. i think the only way may just be having you...follow...some certain steps. But! im still more interested in being here so im not in any hurry. Again no need to worry about me or any of this. i was simply responding to your question.

Do you know what the lever did? like.....or did you just pull it. when you pulled it what did it do? do you know?

if you do how do you feel about it? if not what do you think it did?

and a question for both of you, how do you think Rasbi is doing? when was the last time either of you spoke to her?

I- the lever. No. I didn't know. I pulled it. It killed the second clearing members, and those who survived came to our clearing and we gave them a home.

Awful as it is, I'm not sorry about it. Someone would have pulled it eventually, I just got there first, you know?

I haven't spoken to Rasbi in… ages, honestly.

It's been even longer for me.

Should we… check in on her?
