Do you read indie books?
I'll admit, I don't read many because a lot are only available via eBook, and I have retention issues with that format. However, since subscribing to Rainbow Crate and getting one every month, I've read more. I typically use the ebooks as work reads because it's easier to access than carrying around a full physical book. Though I guess now that they're including physical copies that'll change. 😅
This edition of The Name-Bearer by Natalia Hernandez is GORGEOUS! I love that the original cover was printed on the naked hardcover. The edges are stunning and I love that the top and bottom aren't plain like a lot of digital edges are. These special editions are top tier!

Do you listen to podcasts?
I used to listen to them a lot when I was in college. I'd store up the episodes to play while I was driving to visit my partner. I'd listen on my walks across campus to class or to my car awards to go home when I stopped living on campus. The first one I ever listened to was Welcome to Night Vale. It was all over tumblr and, like when I got into Doctor Who, no one could tell me exactly what it was about. So I had to listen for myself.
My favorite genre of podcast is audio dramas. Fictional stories, but in podcast form. The Bright Sessions was one I found in college and fell in love with. You can imagine my surprise when I heard Lauren Shippen was writing books to go along with it. Each one follows a different MC from the podcast. The Infinite Noise follows Caleb and Adam as they navigate Caleb's empath ability; A Neon Darkness follows Damien as he reconciles with the truth of what he's done; and Some Faraway Place follows Rose as she discovers how to use her power and not get lost in other people's dreams.
It's been a while since I've talked about this series, but it holds a special place in my heart. It's a series about finding yourself and that it's okay to be different. There's a group of people out there that will love you for who you are.

What are items you enjoy getting in book boxes?
I quite like getting pens in boxes, but typically get sad when they run out of ink and can't be replaced. Thankfully, this pen from Rainbow Crate's January box is refillable and writes really nicely. Plus, it's rainbow!
The pen and the holder are inspired by I am Not Your Chosen One by Evelyn Benvie
Pen says: This. You, here, with me. The way it has been maybe forever.
The pen holder says: It means you're perfect just the way you are. Don't let anyone convince you otherwise.

Do you enjoy 80s movies? Drop your favorites below. I'll admit that I'm more of a 90s movie fan, but a few of my favorite 80s movies are The Princess Bride, the Indiana Jones trilogy, Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi. As someone born in 1994 with older siblings born in the 80s, I've surprisingly seen few 80s movies that aren't Dinsey. As You Walk on By by Julian Winters is Breakfast Club-esque, and even though I find the movie okay at best (I don't get the hype, sorry), I'm excited to read this one! Plus, look how gorgeous this redesigned dust jacket is!
