The cover reveal is HERE! I loved making this one so much and I'm so happy with how it turned out after all the versions it went through.
This book is about a shape shifting siren with imposter syndrome, a wall street type gargoyle, and the never ending business trip they're stuck on together.

What's the last indie book you read (title and author, please)? If you don't have one, tell me what you're up to this weekend.
Honestly, this book had me at a character worrying about the cats-over-people quote on the back and the tiger on the front. I'm always worrying about the same thing. 😅 Sorry, not sorry. Cats over people!
I love that Rainbow Crate has picked a lot of indies that I'd never have heard of if it wasn't for them. I didn't go out of my way to read them because 1.) I didn't read ebooks much, and 2.) they're not as easily accessible as traditionally published books. But now that I've got an eReader and a nice stack of indie hardbacks, I'm doing my best to add more to my yearly reading.

Hi all! I'm publishing this form to start collecting ARC readers for Deny Me, The Nightshade Boy. It's a contemporary M/M romantasy between a half-Fae lord and a haunted human. ARCs won't be sent out for another few weeks and would be due for review by release day of September 8.
Got an amazing shout out from Grey Elysee, a phenomenal black indie comic book artist with his own very successful Kickstarter. Please go an support him as well as myself in his amazing journey. I’m ALMOST there. 5 more days.
(Aquarium Heart is a collection of nearly 200 poems, including the entire contents of Jenny Prater's now out-of-print books Goodbye and Avalanche, as well as 66 original poems. Available in print and digital format.)
A Random Sampling of Things You May Not Know about Romance Novels and Publishing
I’d like to tell you that I learned most of this stuff when I was getting a masters in publishing, but unfortunately that information remains outdated and useless. Here’s a random sampling of things I picked up in the few years I’ve been doing this author thing.
Romance novels generate about $1.44 BILLION in revenue each year, earning more than every other fiction genre. Which is why romance…
I’m thrilled to tell you all, the LOVE LAUGH LICH audiobook comes out today!! I’m utterly blown away by Rachel Leblang’s performance. Go give it a listen, you can find it on audiobooks.com.
Some people have monsters for a boss, but not everyone has an undead Necromancer Lord at the office.
Lily has been the Lich’s secretary ever since his evilness took over the company. She loves her job, but she’s got some questions about her boss. Like what’s under that cloak of ever-billowing.
Her wondering intensifies when one day the Lich needs something from her that isn’t just scheduling appointments– but a shiver. He needs it for a spell, but it feels like it crosses a line from their usual workplace banter.
After her contributions to his dark rituals become more than OSHA compliant, she starts to contemplate whether the Lich Lord returns her feelings, or still only sees her as his secretary. Lily may have given him her body, but he never asked for her heart.
Love, Laugh, Lich is a M/F office monster romance with light comedic elements, roughly 17k words. Content notes can be found at kate-prior.com 💀💖
I'll admit, I don't read many because a lot are only available via eBook, and I have retention issues with that format. However, since subscribing to Rainbow Crate and getting one every month, I've read more. I typically use the ebooks as work reads because it's easier to access than carrying around a full physical book. Though I guess now that they're including physical copies that'll change. 😅
This edition of The Name-Bearer by Natalia Hernandez is GORGEOUS! I love that the original cover was printed on the naked hardcover. The edges are stunning and I love that the top and bottom aren't plain like a lot of digital edges are. These special editions are top tier!
Did you know I have a monthly newsletter? That’s the best way to see what I’m working on, peek behind the scenes, get bonus material, and more.
As I distance myself more from social media, my newsletter will remain a vital way for my readers and I to keep in touch, even as Reddit/Discord/Twitter/Facebook/other platforms go up in flames. 🔥

Hello everyone! I hope you had a lovely week, coming out of spring break. Many of you celebrated a Christian holiday, as well, I hope you had some time to reflect and get connected to your faith. 💜 This past week I started sharing some poetry with you on my author channel, Blank Paper & Me, and in this blog I want to compile the poems I’ve shared so far.
