I really like the idea of Darlin being a dancer.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they did it in college either or at least something creative. They’re quite smart academically but in maths their is only right and wrong, there was no leeway, no exploring. Dancing is something they’d done for as long as they remembered. A way to be expressive with movement.

Their parents said it was a way to learn control at first, to dampen down their impulses and put their energy into something positive. Despite that, they enjoy it. Convincing themselves it makes them feel free but going through the rules and steps over and over to make it perfect. They learn to work through pain, to ignore their aching muscles and cut up feet. They don’t do anything half-assed.

It starts controlling them.

They eventually stop as their life changes but Darlin carries dance with them every where they go. Keeping themselves small to never take up too much room, letting themself be contorted into whatever shape, pose or person necessary to fit the performance and to fit into life. Using their body to communicate, to tell a story.

All of the cuts and welts, all that practise and patience only useful when it comes to agility in fights now. It was a stupid dream, bruises and anger in a leotard? Even stage makeup can’t cover their scars. What an idiot they’d been.

But then Sam comes into Darlin’s life and he makes them home cooked meals and they bulk up. He see’s them for who they are, not who he wants them to be. And he fumbles around in the moonlight with them, trying his best as they spin each other.

They feel free and Darlin doesn’t have to perform anymore but they do get to dance again.

Lovely had been opened up to so many different sensations throughout their life. The sore spot on their finger from where their pencil rested after writing an essay, or when they fell off the monkey bars and almost dislocated their shoulder.

The magical world was no different. They could feel Adam's fangs digging into their neck as they laid in bed sometimes, or their blood soaking into the mattress beneath them. The feeling of their body, cold and limp beneath his trance. The feeling of his breath spanning across their neck as he told them where they were, that Vincent was probably running overhead, just out of earshot. The sound of their voice, forced into saying his name.

But they also felt the sensation of Vincent's fangs delicately pressing past their skin. His hips against theirs as they straddled him. His lips against theirs as he thanked them for their trust in him. His breath on the nape of their neck as he held them, soothing away the nightmares. Their voice saying his name breathlessly as he sped down the highway in one of his expensive cars.

They felt the electric current in their body as they snuck up behind Vincent when he was making Mac n Cheese for them, zapping him lightly in the side before running away giggling. They felt the tug in their newly realized core when they practiced bottling their power in the DAMN classes. They felt the static electricity calling to them whenever a balloon was close by. They felt William's fond gaze as they hid beside his desk, waiting for Vincent so they could give him a static shock before hiding behind the centuries old vampire King.

And they felt when all of that was gone too. Lovely felt that absence in their chest. The replacement in their veins. They felt the day turn into danger and the night turn into possibilities. They felt the pitying gaze from Sam and William. They felt the guilty one from Vincent.

Lovely had experienced so many things. And as they stared at the last box in the moving van, they knew this would just be another on the list.

Dude I just had a dream that William took over the world. It was all over the news and stuff, like; "Vampire has taken over the world, Earth is now going to be called 'Solaire'.

And while all that was happening, I was walking to school. I thought I was running late so I checked my phone for the time...exept.. instead of the time and date it just said "William:Solaire".

And for some reason I didn't really care about the whole thing, I just didn't want to be late for class.. Oh! Then Vincent was driving by in his huge jeep and offered me a ride. Sam was in the backseat I think?

I fixate on one-liners too much, but can you really blame me when they hit like this?

The feelings that run through me whenever even the slightest pinch of a character’s canonical appearance is mentioned—

If y’all notice that bit of iridescence in his eyes, that’s color(s) associated with Freelancers in my canon ✨

Then I had a thought that since his eyes were brown, a natural hue, and my version on empowereds eye colors depend on their abilities unless you’re humanborn in which you have a bit of both (almost like heterochromia) 👀

Ergo making my version of Sam a humanborn Freelancer which I think really adds more to the struggles he’s been through and, if I really wanna get deep with it, even relating to Lovely in a way which would make having his hand in helping with the process of their turning a lot more meaningful because he can relate to the loss of an incredible ability you 1. didn’t know you had and 2. spent so long trying to manage it only to have it taken from you just like that. He sees a little of himself in them—and y’know Sam Collins is the kind of man that wants to give others the chance to have what he couldn’t.

Lately on my mind has been Frederick and Bright Eyes.

I, unfortunately enough, found Redacted originally pretty early into his channel. But I also wasn't really into asmr bf experiences, so I kind of just went "Oh cool. Anyway, where are my animations?"

So while I did know about his channel's existence, I never got to experience Fred's storyline. Which is major bummer and very much my bad. Not very cowabunga of me.

But, I do know some basics from having some explanations gracefully dunked on my head upon request. And with the newest info (relatively new anyways) of Fred taking Sam's last name, and Sam getting in a few hits on Quinn for what he did, you have to assume he's Hella close with Fred, if not BE as well by now. I mean, it's been years since they were turned.

So... what happens to them with Sam leaving the clan? Are they leaving with him? Are they staying? Are they splitting up? Like, what's going on? Are they going with Vincent (to my understanding Fred was kinda close with Vincent too?)
