As I reflect on this work I was fortunate enough to listen to Ryan Powell @xuthepodcast and his beautiful description of the body as home. Or “dantian”. What an amazing concept! This painting, “Float” represents that bodily feeling of home for me and how to get back to it. For me it’s that ability to completely sink into a body of water and then let my body gently rise to the surface. Everything is connected: art, body, thoughts, being and why we make what we make.
