Affair era or Husbands era? I just loved to see robron as husbands, it just warmed my heart. Not keen on the affair era even though I know that without it there would have probably not been the robron we love.

Floral shirt or Brown leather jacket? If I have to chose because neither will ever be a fave of mine its the leather jacket.

Purple hoodie or Overalls? I know its unpopular but I have not been so keen on seeing Aaron in that hoodie, like the black ones better.

Wedding 1.0 or Wedding 2.0? Even though wedding 1.0 was amazing, different and in its own way perfect, I would still say wedding 2.0. They were legally wedded in front of their family and friends, the vows, the speeches, the setting just perfect.

Liv or Vic? Well I don’t really know how to chose. Both had a few good moments with the boys but funnily enough I preferred the liv/robert, aaron/vic...but if I have to chose than vic because she was not always bound to them.

The Sugdens or The Dingles? Well depends on the person within each family. So I can’t really say.

The lodge or Christmas 2017? Since I only watched the lodge once and am not a fan of the affair era and all that its Christmas 2017. But not only that, its been perfect and different and I  still like going back to it.

Chrissie White or Rebecca White? If it has to be one than Chrissie.

Reunion 1.0 or Reunion 2.0? Reunion 1.0 will always have a special place in my heart, because its been shortly after I started watching. BUT Reunion 2.0, what can I say, was so special. It felt so real.

Alex or Mike? At least Mike was only around for a few minutes ;)

The Love We Stole or Make You Feel My Love? It is their song, end of!

Lay-by or Barn? Its where it all started ;)

Proposal 1.0 or Proposal 2.0? Depends on what counts as proposal 1.0 lol...if its the one at the hospital bad I would have said this one, but if not then it is Proposal 2.0. 

2016 or 2018? 2016 for the special things, like ssw, reunion, prison goodbye/back, abuse era and the great moment it gave us, but I hated the constant blaming of robert for little things. But in 2018 seeing them happy and together, facing things together, getting married, being a family i is my choice.

Chas or Diane? I only like either of them, when they are supportive lol

Boyfriend era or affair era? Neither really but if I had to choose then boyfriend era.

This is mood. With (especially) soap couples i get easily bored when their beginnings are nothing special yk? A couple of dates, comedy scenes, telling mates about their feelings, easy happy endings that feel rushed or ideal & too fluffy for my liking. The reason i fell in love w Robron was the affair & that includes the awful bits coz they made sense. It was wild, destructive, ambiguous but also not, took time to unfold, angsty af, painful, raw etc It was a tragic lov story at the time.

absolutely all this!!! and that’s why they’re still so loved after 4 years of being quite present on screen and despite some not-so-well received storylines haha! 

i mean look how long it took for them to get together officially, a whole year and a half! and then it took us more than two other years for them to get married legally and it didn’t feel that long! for comparison, Vnity got together as a couple 4 months after they started sleeping together (and that’s because Vanessa still had to figure herself out a bit before, and they were sort-of girlfriends before that point), and that’s how it goes for a lot of couples! we’re about a year after they started (vnity) and they’ve moved in together, are soon to be engaged and have their little family unit and it’s nice but it’s so little time!

we’ve had so many different eras and dynamics between them, there’s something for everyone! they’ve been through the heaviest shit, some great joys and they’re still special and i really think it’s because they had the start that they did. we’d be nothing without my love 2015

Since I loved reading your post about Ringsy's sexlife. It's only fair to give you an opportunity to share your thoughts/headcanons on Robron sexlife as well?

Me?  Procrastinate from work by doing meta on fictional characters?  More likely than you think.

People have talked a lot about the different eras of Robron’s sex life but I’m going to focus on where we/they are now.

Because it’s different.

They’re not lost in the passion that came with the affair or their first go at a proper relationship.  It’s not about grabbing quickies or spending whole days in bed just because.

Now they’re settled and they’re happy and they’re getting (legally) married and there’s a teenager and a baby down the hall so it’s different.

That’s not to say they’re old granddads sitting in bed in their cardigans with Ovaltine and books, covers pulled up tightly around them.  When they go for it they do.  But they’re intimate in lots of other ways.

To me, Robert and Aaron are privately intimate.  They don’t do PDAs and they don’t hang their relationship out for show.  And to me it’s not a hang up from the affair or anything like that.  It’s just a case of they have nothing to prove to anyone.

In the midst of life Aaron quipped that if their sex life ever fell to a predictable schedule then he’d file for divorce.  It’s not like “Saturday night, date night” was a real thing but it was getting to the point where they would have to make plans to be able to have plans.  Joys of parenthood.  (Aaron had blown Robert in the shower that night, just to prove that he didn’t regret any of their choices.)

Liv might be ace but she knows about sex.  She’s got a pair of Bluetooth headphones and the remote for her music system by her bed for a reason.  They might not have been having sex, she knows both of them are prone to the odd nightmare, but she’d still rather not listen long enough to have anything confirmed.  Gabby understands what it’s like to not want to hear your parent(s) and so they work on arranging nights where one/both of them can be out.  Seeing as Liv is an honorary Dingle and Gabby is her best friend, and after all the crap that’s gone on recently, movie nights with Belle at the Dingles is a pretty nice way to spend the night.

Auntie Vic knows exactly why she’s on overnight duty and she just grins and leaves them be.  Robert jokes that they’ve gone from no one in the village knowing they are doing it at all to everyone knowing when they are doing it.

@bartsugsy and @lesfemmesdangereuses and @vckaarrob have some of the best headcanons about how the boys spend their nights (and days and everything in between).  I hope this compliments them rather than josses them for anyone.

There’s no rules in the bedroom but they each have never brought up anything involving pain play (Aaron) or power play (Robert).  It’s not that they think the other would say no or freak out it’s just something that’s not talked about.  It’s not the proverbial elephant and there’s plenty they can be doing instead.

One time they were in a rush and Aaron hadn’t bothered to unbutton Robert’s shirt fully.  In his haste to pull it off Robert had gotten a little stuck.  Aaron was riding him at the time (they were kinda on the clock, lunch breaks should not last five hours) and he came faster and harder than ever.  Since then they’ve played about a little with restraining Robert - nothing Fifty Shades but him holding onto something to keep his hands away from Aaron, Aaron holding him down, that kind of thing.  The closest they’ve ever got to real restraints was when Aaron used one of Robert’s ties.  The knot was pathetically loose and worked free within minutes but it had the desired effect.

Aaron likes a bit of a thrill when it comes to sex with Robert.  Bed is for their night-long love making sessions of emotional intimacy.  “You look fucking hot in those jeans and I want to bite that arse” sex is best when one is bent over the table, braced against the wall, grinding up in the Portacabin and hoping today isn’t the day that Jimmy is on time.  (Joe can come and check on his investment, they don’t give a fuck about that.)  He doesn’t want to get caught but he loves the spontaneity of it.  He likes there’s a distinction between sex and love, and that they have both.

Because the nights where Seb is elsewhere and Liv is either out or has her headphones, Aaron loves taking Robert to pieces.  It’s like a small part of him can’t believe that he has Robert, he’s all his.  This is his life and his lover and this is their bed and their home.  He maps Robert’s body as if it’s the first time he’s been able to do it and also the last time he will ever get to so he needs to remember it all.

Robert has a vague memory of the moment when he decided that Aaron would be nothing but loved by him.  It’s something he puts into everything he does: the coffee he buys, the little touches of real life.  And when they’re having sex it’s about Aaron.  He’s not out to prove something, he gets off on Aaron getting off.  (Unless he’s tied up, that’s his hind brain and out of his control.)  Aaron gives the best blowjobs but Robert’s fucking awesome at rimming.  He did it to Aaron for the first time on one of their affair hotel stays and Aaron came so loudly that the management knocked on their door asking if everything was OK.

Aaron’s blissed out and I-just-had-the-best-fuck-ever face gave them the answer.

Their en-suite has an oversized shower for Reasons and they often take advantage of it and the non-slip floor Robert had put in at extra cost.  Aaron had wondered why to begin with but the first time that Robert fucked him to orgasm under the drencher stream of water from the shower head he knew they’d get their money’s worth.  Mornings are blowjobs or hands on/in places, very rarely full penetration.  Those mornings are usually the ones after the nights they have to themselves.

The only real promise they have made to each other on their sex life is that they will do it during daylight at least four times a year.  Robert joked about banking them during the lighter summer days but on the 21 December when Aaron knelt on the Portacabin floor and sucked Robert to the point of coming… then left him?  Robert gave in and had Aaron over the desk within minutes.

ETA: Robert bought an Amazon dash button for condoms after that one time they spent twenty minutes looking for one.  They go without sometimes but it’s just easier with.  Seb played with it once and placed an order; when Robert got the notification he thought it was Aaron and thought he was in for a good weekend.  (They had one, just not the one Robert thought.)
