what was the assignment omg
I was writing a short assignment about the medieval notion of what a "work" was - in modern language, what we might consider to be the canon version of a text. And because Sabrina Carpenter adds different lines at the end of "Nonsense," that's like roughly equivalent to the changes in performance that you get with medieval bards, who would sometimes forget lines or add lines in performance, whether those changes were spontaneous or premeditated. And some of the changes she makes are funnier or more resonant than others. I think we're all fond of "I've got a personality but no tits/This song is not about Joshua Bassett" and the one she did on the BBC got attention for being somewhat obscene (by the BBC's standards), so those might get remembered while other ones don't get remembered or recorded. So that shows how different variations can be made and then also how certain ones can survive.
BUT the key difference between the modern and medieval performance is that the CD/Spotify recording exists as the "official" version. So when she adds something, it's a deviation from what might be considered the definitive or canon version. In medieval thought, however, all the versions taken together comprise the "work," so there's a different way of thinking about it.

Unlocking Comfort and Safety: The Ultimate Guide to Neck Pillows
Tumblr media
Understanding the Importance:
Imagine the tender neck of your newborn, delicate and in need of support. baby neck pillow serve a vital purpose in providing that support, especially during travel or when transitioning between different sleeping positions. Unlike regular pillows designed for adults, baby neck pillow are crafted with utmost care to provide gentle support without compromising safety. They help in maintaining the natural alignment of the baby’s neck, reducing the risk of strain or discomfort.
Choosing the Perfect Baby Neck Pillow:
Selecting the right neck pillow for your baby involves considering various factors to ensure both comfort and safety:
Size and Shape: Opt for a pillow specifically designed for infants, typically smaller in size and contoured to provide adequate support to the neck and head.
Material: Look for hypoallergenic and breathable materials such as cotton or organic fabrics to prevent any skin irritations or overheating.
Firmness: The pillow should be firm enough to provide support but not too hard to cause discomfort. Memory foam or latex pillows often strike the right balance.
Washability: Babies are prone to spills and accidents, so choose a pillow with a removable, machine-washable cover for easy cleaning.
Safety Standards: Ensure that the pillow meets safety standards and certifications, indicating it is free from harmful chemicals and designed with the baby’s safety in mind.
Safety Tips for Using Baby Neck Pillows:
While baby neck pillows offer numerous benefits, it’s essential to use them safely to prevent any risks:
Supervised Use: Always supervise your baby when using a neck pillow, especially during sleep, to ensure they remain in a safe position and do not accidentally cover their face with the pillow.
Age Appropriateness: Introduce a neck pillow only when your baby has sufficient neck control, typically around 3 to 6 months of age. Before that, it’s safer to avoid using pillows altogether.
Avoid Overstuffing: Do not overstuff the pillow or add additional padding, as it can increase the risk of suffocation or overheating.
Regular Inspection: Periodically inspect the pillow for any signs of wear and tear, and replace it if it shows any signs of damage to ensure continued safety and support.
Conclusion:
In the journey of parenthood, every decision, no matter how small, contributes to the well-being of your precious little one. baby neck pillow may seem insignificant at first glance, but their impact on your baby’s comfort and safety is undeniable. By understanding their importance, choosing the right one, and using them safely, you can unlock a world of comfort and tranquility for your baby, ensuring peaceful sleep and joyful travels for years to come. So, embrace the power of the perfect baby neck pillow and watch your baby drift off into a world of sweet dreams, nestled in comfort and security.
