Okay, hear me out, y'all. I think that, among other things, Kanghan is a Dominant Sadist, who doesn't know how to control those urges and channel them in a healthy way. We've seen repeatedly that he enjoys hurting, humiliating, and dominating others. Sure, part of that probably stems from the fact that he has no idea what to do with his life, what to strive for, but I think a significant part of it comes from his natural dominance. He reminds me a lot of Noey in that way(Noey from I Will Knock You). Noey was a bully who really needed a sub to balance him out. That, I believe, is also what Kanghan needs. He's drawn to Sailom, and deeply wants Sailom to submit to him, which just isn't happening. So Kanghan fixates on him, becomes obsessed with making this boy get on his knees. Then he comes across Sailom getting the shit kicked out of him. And, whether he realized it or not, he'd started thinking of Sailom as his. His to control, his to dominate. And when he sees Sailom being harmed, the flip side of his dominance comes out, the side that feels protective of the person he wants to dominate. So he instantly goes from punishment mode to protective mode. Because Sailom is his, and only his. Then he goes to check on Sailom, who flings himself at Kanghan, weeping. This touches Kanghan's protective, dominant side as well, and he can't help but offer comfort.

I don't know whether or not Sailom has any submissiveness in him, though the fact that instead of pushing Kanghan away when Kanghan checks on him, he wraps his arms around Kanghan's waist and cries, gave me some submissive vibes. Because for the first time, Kanghan has given Sailom a reason to behave in a submissive manner. Before he'd just been a bully. Submissives are not always submissive to everyone around them. We choose who we think deserves our submission. And Kanghan had done nothing until that scene to give Sailom a reason to think he might deserve Sailom's submission. But then he does, and Sailom lets himself fall apart, finally on his knees for Kanghan, and I think that was a very meaningful moment for them.

I could be totally wrong, but this is the vibe I'm getting.

I actually really love this

like a lot

generally crying is associated with sad things and characters in shows, particularly if they're men, usually only portray crying as sad, but its actually perfectly normal to cry for literally any emotion at all, and its so refreshing to see him tearing up so much that he needs to wipe it away with his hand, but not because something bad happened, because he's so proud of himself and of how far hes come and it just makes him cry, nothing more complicated than that.

you see, im pretty sure my emotions are stored in my eyes, and I think I generally feel overwhelming amounts of emotions more often than the average person, so at least once a day, those emotions come spilling out because there's just too much of it to keep in my eyes at once

im honestly genuinely surprised I still have tears left

This is what I mean. For Kanghan, beating up Sailom is not what he truly wants. He wants Sailom to submit to him. He wants to humiliate Sailom. He doesn't actually spend a lot of time trying to physically fight and harm Sailom. Despite the intensity of the bullying, in a lot of ways it's more a mental battle than anything else. Kanghan tries to make Sailom's life so unhappy that Sailom will be willing to get on his knees. It's an obsession for Kanghan. As far as I can tell, it's the only real thing he wants from Sailom. Which helps explain even more why he didn't have to think about it for a nanosecond before he had his gun pointed at the men hurting Sailom. He wants submission from Sailom. He doesn't actually want Sailom to get hurt.

So yeah, I'm calling it. Kanghan is a Dominant Sadist. Who hardcore needs a sub to calm him down.
