Whether you wanna admit it's true or not
the only reason Elain is hated is because, like in every other fandom ever, the feminine, kind, sweet woman is overhated for being "boring" all because she chose to overcome her trauma in a healthy way without turning into a raging bitch who takes out her anger on those around her and shows kindness and love to people instead.
anyways, can't wait for Elain's book and for everyone to see what a badass she truly is. for being strong and amazing when everyone constantly underestimates you

Honestly, I do not understand why no one in the IC stood up for Feyre regarding the pregnancy. In the past, Amren and Cassian called out Rhys and Az for the Eris thing. We're just expected to believe the entire IC is just okay with keeping vital medical information from Feyre...? No one objected to it at all? I don't know, it just seems very OOC for everyone to have no problems with lying to their High Lady.
OMG, it was handled so terribly, I can't...
Even if theoretically, we can understand why Cassian and Azriel wouldn't tell her--it's husband/wife thing, they are loyal to Rhys more than anything, etc. --i still can't believe that they were so casual about it, even for HIS sake. They didn't know about the death pact, but they would've understood what Feyre's and the baby's deaths would do to him. Also, they are part of his POLITICAL IC, so no one thought to have a discussion about the political ramifications of her death? Knowing that he is pretty much going to be catatonic and completely out of it for a period of time AND there would be no heir.
Mor and Amren, Feyre's 'best friends' did not think to pressure Rhys--considering that they are his 2nd and 3rd too--into discussing this with her?
Also, I dont care how mad Nesta was at her, when Cassian told her, she was just like, oh, well. I dont believe it for a second! THey had a lot of issues, but if Nesta knew that Feyre was dying, that her nephew would likely die too, AND that Rhys wasn't telling Feyre about it, she'd fucking get those silver flames flaming. That, at the minimum, she wouldnt demand to talk to Elain? and discuss this. Because if Feyre dies, what is THEIR position? Like, Rhys is a brother-in-law to a dead sister...and they literally have nothing. Sure, Nesta might have assumed that he wouldn't toss them out, but realistically, that never crossed her mind???
Ugh. I dont know if SJM was drunk or whatever, but this is probably her worst piece of writing ever--the entire stupid pregnancy plot. She literally made every single person an asshole, for no reason. The entire IC, Rhys and Nesta, and technically Helion, and Drakon and Miryam. Basically, everyone knew and no one told. And then, she didn't even bother to write Feyre's reaction and how she felt about the betrayal.

SJM wrote ACOTAR as a women empowerment series, and I honestly think she'd be disappointed about what misogynistic/sexist things people say about the characters
I agree to an extent. Readers treating Elain's character like shit, wishing for her to die or betray her family, because to them she is 'boring' is certainly on them. The whole 'Lucien deserves...' or 'Azriel deserves...' is on them (because I've never seen anyone ever say 'Gwyn deserves (Az)...' or 'Elain deserves Lucien...')
Some of it is on SJM as well. I feel that ACOTAR is not a well-developed world, and there's never been a concrete plan for developing it, or developing some of the characters/motivations/actions better.
TOG, to me is a much more fleshed out world, with specific, thought-through stories for each character. In a TOG world you'd not have instances of women changing their anatomy to accommodate men's offspring, or women being hated 8 years on for growing flowers and not planting cabbages 15 years ago.
There are a lot of things in ACOTAR that make no sense, especially from a narrative standpoint, and that's SJM's fault.
For example, the concept of a High Lady.
She seems to be saying that the High Lord are kind of misogynistic and don't make their wives/mates High Ladies. Okay. BUT, at the same time, she also says that the Power (of High Lords) doesn't select females to be a HL. So what is it? Which one is it? Because those are extremely different concepts--something that seems to be innately male and only reserved for men, and basically unattainable for females, or not giving women the opportunity to be a HL as a political flex. Again, it's Rhysand (a male) who makes Feyre a HL. Nice. But, it's never explained what that actually means? It is just a nominal title, which is cute, but means nothing. OR, is it actual power that she now has and IS a High Lady?
And an author must explain these types of things.
She can't write female caricatures as in Nesta and Elain as the evil sisters, and stick with them in some ways for 5 books, and then expect people to be objective.
I can write an essay on how what SJM wrote about the cottage and their lives there makes NO SENSE, but that's another post. But as an example--they lived there about 8 years. Who did the laundry? Washed the floors? Swept? Who carried water? Who boiled it? Who washed the dishes and patched the clothes? Are you telling me that they ate NOTHING but venison for 8 years? They all would've been dead of scurvy 7 years ago. So they had veg and fruits. Who cooked it (we know Feyre couldn't cook)? Who diced and chopped and minced? They had zero preserves? They never baked bread?
It wasn't the maimed dad. So it HAD to be Nesta and Elain. That's it. That's the deal. Yet in 5 books, SJM never explained it, and never referred to it. And it's bullshit, if you ask me. Because it goes back to the concept that she doesn't really respect female work and the concept of house-keeping. That fundamentally is the problem. It allows for this ridiculous sexism in this fandom to flourish.
So yeah, I think the author needs to do better too. The fandom is out of control, but SjM allows some of it too.
I'm by no means against SJM, I just see lots of plot holes and opportunities in ACOTAR books and it's frustrating.
