Oh my goooooOOOOOOD it’s been over two years since I last posted here. Well guess what: In that time, I’ve been working on a graphic novel with Shane-Michael Vidaurri, and it’s coming out March 17, 2020 (earlier if you get it from your local comic book shop!) 

A middle-grade graphic novel about a girl, Effie, who skips school to hang out with ghosts. It’s called All My Friends are Ghosts, and it’s written by Shane-Michael and drawn by yours truly~

Hey- thanks for the kind words. I was actually a last-minute transfer student, too.  As far as advice goes- I pretty much embody the 'starving artist' stereotype, so I'm not sure you should listen to anything that I have to say, haha...  Personally, I just try to alternate between drawing from life and drawing from my head as much as possible. Drawing from life/reference is great because it helps you realize how your perceptions differ from reality. Drawing from imagination sometimes gets a bad rap, but I think it's just as important as drawing from life. Creating things from imagination tests whether you can apply what you've learned about light/form/anatomy/etc... Anyway, hope that's somewhat helpful....Good luck with transferring, I hope everything works out for you.

Goths!!! on Ice - A Yuri!!! on Ice Zine 

Happy Halloween everyone! I am pleased to announced and unveil from a velvet lace curtain a new Yuri!!! on Ice zine that my friends have made: Goths!! on Ice. A zine about Yuri!! on Ice, except, like, everyone’s goth. Surprisingly, they all skate, still. Though, to be fair, have you read the English lyrics to Stammi Vicino? Goth AF.  

It’s a two-book (a combined 68 PAGES), two-color risograph (hand printed and hand bound by @kelseyatnowhereplace and I) anthology featuring comics and illustration from:

Since most of us are cartoonists, GOI is packed with comics, a lot of which are surprisingly funny (look at us, a bunch of giggle goths...). We feature a wide interpretation of goth life and goth culture, combining our love of 90s CLAMP, Angel Sanctuary, 80s goth music, j-rock, and the Gothlc Lolita Bible with our love for Yuri!!! on Ice (which legitimately saved everyone’s life, as you as you know well, I’m sure).
