The date (Sofia Huerta x Reader)
As requested this is part two of Not my best idea
I'm hoping to start working through some of my requests, but don't hold me to that, life is a bit busy at the moment.
I'm sick so this is not really edited. Hope you enjoy :)
Warnings: None
Words: 2.2K
There was a knock on my door at exactly 6pm. Sofia was waiting on the other side with a single red rose. I smiled as she handed me the rose, feeling butterflies erupt. Normally, I was the one giving flowers or organising dates. It was a nice change, but not something I wanted regularly. I loved organising dates and spoiling the women I was taking out. It was my love language.
"How long were you waiting outside to get here right on time?" I teased as Sofia blushed.
"Maybe a few minutes. I'm sorry I didn't get you more than one rose. You deserve the best, but the shop I went to only had ones that didn't look great."
"Don't be, I kinda dig the one rose. Let me get my jacket and we're good to go."
"You uh look good by the way."
I took a second to look Sofia up and down, taking her in. She had on black jeans, a plain white t-shirt, and a black leather jacket draped across her arm. Sofia looked beautiful, even though it wasn't anything extravagant. I didn't really like fancy first dates or fancy dates in general so Sofia had reluctantly agreed to a more casual date even though according to Sofia, I deserved to be spoilt. It was a warm night so I followed Sofia's lead, draping my jacket over my arm before taking hers as well.
Sofia protested, telling me she could carry her own jacket, but I shrugged, cutting her off, "You look good too Sof, like really good."
She blushed, clearing her throat, "Thank you. Shall we?"
I laughed, arm wrapping around her shoulder, "You're cute when you're nervous. Let's go."
We walked down the street hand in hand. Sofia was trying her best to hide the nerves, but her twitching fingers, the way she kept wiping her spare hand on her pants, and the way she wasn't speaking, gave away her nerves. "You know I don't bite. Well, unless you're into that."
Sofia turned red, looking away briefly, "Sorry, you just make me really nervous."
"You already embarrassed yourself and I kissed you regardless, so there's no reason to be nervous."
She groaned, covering her face with her free hand, "You don't need to remind me. I just want to impress you."
"Oh no, that'll be my go-to story. I'm just a regular person, you don't need to impress me. If I wasn't already impressed with you, I wouldn't have agreed to go out with you so please just take a breath and try to relax. Think you can do that for me?"
"I can try."
We stopped at a Mexican food truck, each ordering our food. Sofia paid before I had the chance to protest. I hated people buying me things even if it was just food. I pushed that discomfort aside as best as possible to enjoy the date. It was something I could bring up later if needed.
When we sat down to eat, I asked Sofia a few questions about being a professional athlete and her love for soccer. Knowing she was nervous, I decided to ask easier questions for now until she relaxed a bit. The more in-depth or family questions could wait. Sofia rambled on about her job with me listening intently. I was genuinely interested in what she had to say. The slight rasp in her voice already sucking me in. I knew I could listen to her talk for hours and not get bored.
Sofia's cheeks flushed light pink when she realised my attention was completely on her, "Sorry. Enough about me, what about you? Why did you become a lifeguard?"
"Don't apologise, I like hearing you talk about it. I can see how much you love what you do. Um, I never actually planned on being a lifeguard, it's only been a few months, but I enjoy it more than I thought."
Talking about myself felt awkward, something I was never very good at. I knew I should say more, I just kinda clammed up due to the awkwardness and not knowing what to say. It was definitely easier when more specific questions were asked.
Sofia giggled in response before asking, "What did you do before being a lifeguard? I assume you were doing something being 2- actually, I don't know how old you are. Sorry that was kinda rude wasn't it?"
I laughed at her getting flustered again. Some people probably would have found it rude how she asked. I was just entertained.
"You're okay. I'm 27 by the way. I was a wedding/family photographer before, well I still am and I'll go back to it. I just needed a bit of a break. Being a photographer is great, I do genuinely love it, but I was fully booked most of the time, traveling to many different states constantly. It got a bit overwhelming, I was burnt out and exhausted. Obviously, you need money to live so I couldn't just quit. My aunt owns this hotel and when I confided in her how I was feeling, she offered me the lifeguard job for as long as I wanted it. So yeah, I'll go back soon, maybe experiment with a different kind of photography while I have this job as a backup."
Sofia winked, squeezing my hand, "You make a very attractive lifeguard. Bet you're just as attractive with a camera. Maybe you should try sports photography. In all seriousness, I'm glad you got the break you needed, I understand how exhausting traveling can be. I would love to see some of your work sometime if that's okay?"
"You flatter me Sof. I have actually thought about sports photography, maybe you can be my practice. Also, I have a whole Instagram of my work you can look at."
"I would love to be your practice."
We spent another ten or so minutes at the food truck, Sofia scrolling through my Instagram while I sat there awkwardly due to the compliments. After a while, Sofia took my hand, dragging me away from the food truck. I managed to tone down my excitement when we stopped outside the arcade. "How did you know I liked arcades?"
"Um, I may have stalked your Instagram."
"Stalker."
---
For being a professional athlete, Sofia was surprisingly bad at throwing a basketball. I stood behind her, hands covering her hands, guiding her to throw the ball into the net. Sofia jumped excitedly, picking up the next ball.
"You're not pretending this time are you?"
"Unfortunately not."
My hands trailed down to her hips, settling maybe a little lower than they should. Sofia didn't stop me, instead leaning back into me. "Try yourself now."
Sofia missed again, leaning back into me with a groan, "How are you so good at this?"
I shrugged, guiding her to throw the ball again, "I dabble."
"In basketball?"
"Also volleyball and boxing currently. Soccer when I was a teenager."
"Wow. Where do you play?"
"It's just fun, mostly with my friends, sometimes like a fun community thing. I used to play more seriously in high school."
We spent a few hours at the arcade, playing all the games and getting to know each other. Touches became more frequent and confident on both sides as time went on. There weren't any proper kisses yet, only a few cheek or hand kisses. Don't get me wrong, I really wanted to kiss her and her lingering looks on my lips gave me the idea she wanted to as well. We were in public though so I decided to wait. PDA wasn't really my thing. Sofia was also a public figure which meant we had to be a little more careful.
It was about 10:30pm when we decided to head back. Sofia had the day off tomorrow, but I still had to work from mid-morning so I didn't want to be out too late. Sofia leaned against the wall of the hotel, playing with my fingers. "I had a really good time tonight. Do you want to come back to my room?"
I stepped closer, practically trapping her against the wall. "Me too," I whispered, leaning in capturing her lips with mine. My hand rested low on her hip, hers cupping the back of my neck as I deepened the kiss. Sofia's tongue ran along my lip, trying to coax them apart, but I pulled away before she could. "You are making me blur every boundary I created for pre and post-first dates."
"Sorry."
"No, you're not."
Sofia smirked, leaving a lingering kiss against my lips, "Not really. You're fun to be around and an incredible kisser Y/n, but I also don't want you to do anything you don't want to do or aren't ready to do."
"I never would, you'll soon learn I'm very stubborn. I'll come to your room, but things stay PG 13."
"Deal."
---
"Can I see you again?" Sofia asked, playing with my hair as I lay next to her, head resting on my hand so I could down at her.
"You're fun to be around, I really enjoy spending time with you-"
Sofia frowned before smiling sadly, "There's a but coming isn't there? It's okay if you're not interested in anything more than tonight, I had a great time regardless."
"No, it's not that, I would love to see you again. This isn't necessarily a deal breaker and I probably should have thought about this sooner. I know you're staying in the hotel for camp or whatever, but where do you actually live? Like uh, how far away are you from me?"
She giggled, pecking my lips quickly, "I thought I was the nervous one. To answer your question, about 25 minutes with no traffic."
"Wait really? Why are you staying at a hotel then?"
"Camp rules, better for team morale and bonding."
This time I leaned down, initiating a mini make-out session. It had been a week or so of knowing Sofia and I already knew I was screwed. I was drawn to her, she made me giddy and touchy. She was also a really good kisser, I already didn't want to leave. "In that case, I would love to see you again on one condition."
"What's that?"
"You let me plan the next date."
Sofia kissed me softly, "Anything as long as I get to do that some more."
---
Sofia and I had talked for a while last night before falling asleep cuddled up. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see her this morning because I had to get ready for work. As much as I wanted to wish her a good morning, I had managed to slip out without waking her, sending a text to assure her I had just bailed on her.
About midday, the group of women I was used to seeing entered the pool area, each claiming their lounger. My eyes met Sofia's sending her a soft smile as I approached the group.
"Good morning ladies, how are we today? Can I get you anything?"
"Morning Y/n, all is good. Are the umbrellas out today?"
"That was next on the list, I'll grab them for ya now."
Emily smirked, nudging Sofia's shoulder, "Sof will help."
I guess they didn't know about our date. It wasn't a big deal, I figured Sofia would tell them when she was ready. I chuckled turning to Sofia, "You don't have to, I got it."
Sofia looked at me for a second. A small, slightly shy smile was present before she spoke softly, "I don't mind."
Once we were away from the group, I discreetly squeezed her hand, "How did you sleep beautiful?"
Sofia smiled, squeezing my hand again, "Amazingly. You should know, you were there."
"Sorry, I had to slip out early. I didn't want to wake you up on your day off."
Sofia's hand rest on my arm, seemingly not caring if anyone saw, "It's okay. Was a bit disappointed not to get a kiss when I woke up. Maybe you could make that up to me now?"
"What about them? I assume they don't know about our date."
"They don't, but that was so they didn't annoy me about it while I was so nervous. Please don't tell them about how it happened yet. I can't face that yet."
I laughed, already imagining how much fun it would be to expose that down the line. However, right now Sofia was looking up at me expectantly. I cupped her cheek, lips connecting in a lingering kiss. I heard yelling from behind us as I pulled away, pecking her lips one more time. "That's all you get because you're technically a customer right now and I will get in trouble if I get caught."
Sofia pouted, but I refused to give in, shaking my head in response. Just because my boss was my aunt, doesn't mean I wouldn't actually get in trouble. "Fine. Do you want to come over again tonight?"
"I would love to."
We made our way back with the umbrellas, instantly being interrogated by Emily. "What the fuck did we miss? How did you go from a stuttering, red mess to kissing her overnight?"
Sofia shrugged, "We just talked after you guys left yesterday then ended up on a date last night."
Unfortunately, more people started showing up so I had to go back to my spot. I would have loved staying there with her and her team, but getting to watch her relaxing in a bikini, knowing I got to be with her after work, made it more tolerable.

My Heart Belongs To You (Sofia Huerta x reader)
Tumblr media
After the World Cup it seemed that the whole world had their eyes on you so when your manager told you that Chelsea had made an offer, it was like a dream come true. Even so you still told him that you had to think about it, moving to England meant moving away from Chicago, a place you then called home and it also meant leaving someone very import, that person, Sofia Huerta.
You are playing your best football at Chelsea, you had a starting spot and was fast becoming one of the best midfielders in Europe.  2021 would go down as one of the best and worst years of your life.
Chelsea won the WSL, the Conti cup, the FA cup and ended their season winning the Champions League, fans around the world called it the perfect season. However, in the final ten minutes of the champions league final you were involved in a freak accident resulting in a torn ACL and MCL meaning that you wouldn’t be able to play in the olympics.
The last time you were in the United States for was the SheBelieves Cup in 2020, almost two years ago but now it was time to go home.
You have officially been cleared by the doctors at Chelsea and have been given the thumbs up to join the USWNT in Chula Vista. Tobin agreed to stay with you in London until you had the green light then you would fly to the states together, another bonus of having one of your closest friends with you in England even if they did play for your rivals.
The USWNT has just arrived at the playing field when the notice somebody is missing.
“Hey Chris, Where’s Tobin? I thought you said she was arriving last night” Kelley asks.
Besides the coaching staff, Christen is the only other person besides Tobin that knows you are coming.
“Their flight got delayed and landed about hour ago but they are coming straight here” Christen answered.
Her response causes a lot of confusion amongst the group of players around her.
“They?” Mal asks.
“I said her, as in Tobin’s flight” Christen panics as she realises she has slipped up.
Much to her relief nobody questions it any further.
Players separate into their small groups passing a ball around whilst the coaching staff set everything up.
“Can I ask you something?” Sofia says taking a seat near Christen as the forward ties her cleats.
Christen nods her head, surprised that Sofia didn’t come talk to her the night prior. When Christen was in London she spent a lot of time with you whilst Tobin was at training or team events. The two of you would talk about anything and everything but what surprised Christen was how open you were about your relationship with Sofia and how much you still cared for the defender even though you were no longer together.
“How is she?” Sofia asks knowing that she didn’t need to mention you by name, Christen would just know.
“She is better now. I arrived in London a few months after her surgery, she was still on rest. She wasn’t our Y/N, I didn’t recognise her. I tried to cheer her up but nothing worked, that was until I talked about you, she was so happy when she found out you had been called up” Sofia smiles at the memory of her call up, even after not talking for over a year, you were still the person she wanted to call first but she couldn’t muster up enough courage to do so “She’s different Sof, you know how much playing soccer means to her and she got that taken away but I know that she will be ok, she is Y/N, nothing keeps her down for too long” Christen tells her former red stars team mate.
You and Tobin landed, went straight to the hotel, got changed and are now on your way to the training field. Nerves flood your body but the doctor assured you this was to be expected.
Walking to the field you and Tobin are in deep conversation about her Re-Inc stuff, so much so you didn’t realise the team had noticed you, that was until you saw Mal running at you full speed. You react just in time to catch her.
“Well if I knew this was the welcome I would receive I would have come back a lot sooner” you joke as you spin her around.
Mal was one of your closest friends in Chicago and she is amongst the people you have missed the most during your time over seas.
“I missed you Y/N, it hasn’t the same without you” She says as you put her down.
You and Mal walk to where Tobin is talking to the rest of the team. Each one of them welcoming you back with open arms, most of them taking a double take at your knee which is covered in a compression sleeve and a knee brace making it look a lot worse than it actually is.
The last person to greet you is Sofia and being the nosy people they are, the team watches the interaction. Whilst your relationship was never confirmed to the outside world, your club team mates knew your were dating as did your national team mates.
You wrap your arms around her a little tighter than you did everyone else. With your eyes closed you inhale deeply, oh how you missed the way she smelled and the way it always made you feel at ease no matter what was going on.
“I missed you” You whisper in her ear. Was it the right thing to say, maybe not but you had to tell her.
“I missed you too Y/N” Sofia replies softly.
The two of you stay their in each others arms for a few moments before Vlatko interrupts.
“It’s great to have you back with us Y/N” Vlatko tells you “How about you go get your cleats on and join us on the field” he pauses for a moment “that’s if the jet lag isn’t too bad, what time is it back in London?” He says looking at his watch.
“10pm” you and Tobin both say in unison.
You go the bench to get your cleats before joining the team on the pitch.
“At least you still know how to tie them” Sonnet says which pisses you off even though you know she is joking.
She runs off which gives you the perfect opportunity to get your payback. As she runs you clip her ankles causing her to fall flat on her face.
“Make sure you tie your laces Em” you say as you run past her.
You stand beside Kelley who puts her arm around your shoulders “The sass is back, oh how I have missed the sass” you simply shake your head, a smile on your face as you listen to what Vlatko is saying.
After ten minutes or so it is like you never missed a camp, the chemistry you have with the team is evident even with the new additions. What did surprise the team though is how well you and Sofia play together. Everyone knew you played together in Chicago but that was years ago, they didn’t expect you to be so in sync after all this time.
The team goes for a drinks break and Dawn takes the chance to do some checks on your knee.
“She is holding back” Mal says to no one in particular.
“What are you talking about, she is amazing, I mean I have seen her play on the TV but in person she is incredible” Trinity replies.
The team look your way when they hear your wince as Dawn moves your knee into an awkward position.
“Mal’s right” Alyssa agrees with the young forward “She is pulling her shots, trust me, I know when I am on the receiving end of her rockets and she hasn’t taken any today”
“I agree with Lyss, she isn’t fighting with me which she always does. There’s no aggression” Kelley says.
The team try to come up with a way for you to trust your knee now that is is healed.
“She has been fully cleared?” Sofia asks Tobin who knows your recovery better than anyone.
Tobin nods.
“Ok, I have an idea but I’m not sure if you will like it and I know that Y/N won’t like it” Sofia says as she tells the team her plan.
You get called back to the group after taking some pain killers from Dawn, something that doesn’t go unnoticed by your ex.
The scrimmage continues, you make a run to the box waiting for Sofia to send in a cross just as she has done before but this time she doesn’t get the chance to as Rose takes her out. You feel your blood begin to boil but it soon settles when you see Sofia get up, no limp, no nothing. Still you are angry and believe in the saying ‘you reap what you sow’ so when you next had the ball and Rose came near you, you body checked her, putting her on her ass and then took a shot on goal, one that Alyssa had no chance of saving.
“There she is” Sofia says proudly as you quickly celebrate the goal.
“I know that Rose tackled you on purpose, how did you know I would retaliate?” you ask her as you walk back to your positions.
“You never used to let people come after me and get away with it” she says and she was right.
“Old habits, I suppose” you reply.
Sofia could look after herself, that much you knew but almost everyone in the NWSL knew that if they took out Sofia, they would have you to deal with.
Training is over a lot quicker than you had hoped, well your training was over. You walk off the pitch and back to the hotel with the team doc for a quick check up to make sure everything is as it should be.
When the team come back to the hotel, your absence is a hot topic.
“Do you think she is hurt again?” Sonnet asks.
Nobody knows for sure but they all hoped it wasn’t anything too serious. The team decide to go for showers before getting something to eat, by the time they come back down you are sat at a table with a plate of food.
Conversation soon began to flow, it wasn’t long before you start to get quizzed.
“I bet your parents were happy to see you at Christmas Y/N, what has it been two years?” Christen asks innocently, you couldn’t blame her she didn’t know that she was dropping you in it.
“Y/N didn’t go home for Christmas” Megan says “Me and Sue bumped into her parents in Seattle the day after boxing day. They said how much they missed her but were glad she won’t be spending Christmas alone”
Suddenly all eyes are on you but none burnt more that Sofia’s. When you look at her you saw hurt in her eyes. Who would you have been spending Christmas with if it wasn’t your family.
“I saw on instagram that you met up with Guro, is that who spent Christmas with? The two of you were awfully close when I visited Sam” Kristie says referring to your Chelsea team mate Guro Reiten.
Sofia is no longer looking at you instead she is playing with the food on her plate. You consider it a blessing in disguise when you called back in to the physio to continue your treatment.
“I didn't spend it with her. Come and find me when you're done and I will explain” you say in Spanish so that only Sofia will understand.
It is about an hour later when Sofia comes into the treatment room.
After having your knee pushed to its limits you were in a little bit of pain so the physio gave you some pain killers, elevated your knee and put ice on it then turned the lights out as he left.
So when she turned the light on you cover your eyes.
“Sofia Huerta, brightening my day since day one” you joke as you adjust to the light.
She sits on the bed opposite you, not knowing what to say.
“I’m not dating Guro” you tell her “we didn’t break up so that we could see other people. We broke up because you wanted me to focus on football and that is what I have done. My heart still belongs to you Sof, it always will”
“But Megan said” Sofia begins to speak but you cut her off.
You look away, adjusting the ice pack “I spent it alone” you say but you don’t look at her “I got cleared at the beginning of December, the plan was for me to come back in the first game of the year” you laugh at the memory, thinking back to how you thought things were finally getting better.
“What happened?” Sofia asked as you are still yet to make your Chelsea return.
“I wasn’t strong enough. I tried to hold off a team mate when I felt something pull in my knee, I was back on bed rest with my return put on hold”
Sofia notices your change in demeanour. She nudges your good leg and you move over so that she can sit on the side of the treatment bed. You feel your body relax as she takes your hand in hers.
“I didn’t want to see or talk to anyone but Christen can be very determined. I knew that if I told her I was staying in London for Christmas she would volunteer to stay with me which meant that Tobin would stay too so I lied” you shrug your shoulders earning an eye roll from Sofia.
Sofia knows how much you love Christmas. You loved the food, the gift of giving presents, spending time with your family and watching the cheesiest hallmark movies.
“I wish you would have called me. I don’t like the thought of you spending Christmas alone”
“It hated it. I was going to cook myself a dinner but I left it too late so I ended up ordering sushi, that I didn’t hate as much” you reply trying to lighten the mood.
Silence fills the room, the two of you not needing to talk as you simply enjoy each other’s company. You missed this, just being with her, it was like nothing had changed between the two of you.
When you look at your hands, more specifically hers, you see something that makes your heart skip a beat.
“You still wear it?” You ask in disbelief as you begin playing with the promise ring you got her for your anniversary.
Whilst a smile tugs at your lips, a frown grows on hers.
Your fingers were empty, no ring.
“You don’t wear yours?”
You unlink your hands as you reach into your shirt. You pull out a chain that holds a similar ring she gave you on your birthday.
“It was too hard seeing it everyday but I never take it off”
The fact that you wore the ring but not on the finger she placed in on all those years ago didn’t sit well with the defender. It felt to her like you was hiding that part of you, the part that loves or at least loved her.
“Hey, look at me” Sofia does as she’s told “you’re overthinking it. Would it make you feel better if I did this”
You proceed to take the necklace off and place the ring on you right finger.
“I still have your heart?” Sofia asks referring to the earlier statement.
“You do. When you broke up with me it hurt but I couldn’t be mad at your reasons because they weren’t malicious”
“I wish I never did it” Sofia tells you.
“Sof” You couldn’t believe what you were hearing. Both anger and relief wash over you. If she would have told you this sooner you could have been together.
“I know I have no right to say that but I have wanted to tell you for a while”
Sofia begins rambling, something she has always done when she is nervous and you find it just as adorable as you did when you were dating.
“Sofia” you try to get her to stop talking but you fail miserably.
You kiss her mid sentence knowing that it will definitely make her stop talking. You plan on it being a peck but when Sofia deepens the kiss you don’t pull away. Nothing compared to the way you felt when you kissed her, the past seemed to become irrelevant and so does the future. The two of you are focused on the present.
“Why do we make things more difficult for ourselves” Sofia says whilst she tries to regain her breath.
“I didn’t make this hard, you did. I know I moved away but I told you I wanted to be with you and that I was willing to fight for us”
“I wish that—“
“Y/N are you ok?” Christen comes into the physio’s room fully unaware of the moment she is interrupting.
“She’s ok” Sofia beats you too it.
You see Christen eying you up, her gaze zoning in on your lips and you can only imagine that they are swollen given your make out session.
“Of course she is, she is with you” Christen says “Whilst I did want to come to see if you were ok, I have also been sent in to get you. We are going to play Uno and Kelley is demanding you play, something about the rest of us not being a challenge for her”
The three of you go back to the team. It is obvious that they have questions but they know you well enough to respect your privacy even though it is killing them inside.
“Before we start I have a question for Y/N” Rose asks.
You roll your eyes “I thought we were playing Uno not truth or dare”
When you sit down, Sofia sits in the seat next to you. A smile tugs at your lips when she pull her chair closer to yours, your hand sits comfortably on her thigh and you are relived when she makes no effort to move it.
“One question” Rose gives you her best puppy dog eyes to which you nod your head “you’re contract is up at the end of the season right?”
Again you nod your head but you feel Sofia stiffen beside you. Clearly she has thought about this too.
“Are you going to resign?”
You shake your head. You look at Sofia who is hanging on your every word. You send her wink before turning your attention back to the table.
“You’re coming back to Chicago?“ Mal asks rather excitedly.
“She’s coming home” Megan says.
You give her a look. You were born and raised in Seattle but you both know that isn’t the reason for you returning to the Emerald city.
“You are?” Sofia asks you.
“Playing overseas was never part of my forever plan Sofia. I told you when I left that I would come back to you, you just didn’t believe me. You let me put my career first and I am grateful for that but I think it’s time I give my heart what it wants and what it wants is you” you whisper so only she can hear you.

Home Is Wherever I’m With You [Christen Press x Reader]
Tumblr media
requested by anon: Hey, there just want to drop of this prompt in case you feel like writing it. Reader got home after a few months being away from CP because of the quarantine, maybe a moment of CP confronting R that she’s jealous of R’s teammate that got to lockdown together. Thanks.
A/N: after a week break (for the election and other stresses of life) (and technically i haven’t written in like three weeks bc of life and school), we’re BACK! hope y’all like this one :) and as always, feedback is more than welcome!! anyways, back to your regularly scheduled programming...
“Hey, baby, I’m home,” you call out, as you enter the LA apartment you shared with your girlfriend, closing the door behind you, “fucking finally.” You mumble under your breath, as you drop your bags onto the floor.
“(Y/N)!” Christen runs from the bedroom upon hearing your voice, but before she can crash into you for a long-awaited hug, you put up your hands to stop her.
“Woah, Chris,” you almost falter at the sight of her pout, “I just got off a plane and came from the airport. I need to shower and get all these yucky germs off me.” You smell your shirt and make a face to exaggerate your point.
“But I missed you.” Christen pouts, and you give her a sympathetic smile.
“I missed you too, babe, but I just wanna be extra safe. Can’t have you getting sick or anything like that.” You wink, as you make your way to the bathroom. “I’ll be out in a minute.” Blowing her a kiss, you disappear down the hallway.
Christen sinks down into the couch, letting out a frustrated groan. If the forward was being honest with herself, she more than missed you; she was jealous. Although she knew that you loved her and only her and the two of you had been dating for almost two years, Christen couldn’t help the green-eyed monster from taking over when she constantly saw you on Sofia Huerta’s instagram.
The past two months, you had to quarantine in Seattle and stay in your apartment that you shared with Sofia during the season, while waiting for COVID to settle down enough for you to travel. During that time, you and Sofia spent a lot of time together, doing anything to keep you entertained.
Unfortunately for you, Sofia had often posted on her Instagram story photos and videos of your activities, whether it be a movie night or a bike around Discovery Park, leading to a very annoyed Christen Press.
It wasn’t that Christen was jealous in the sense that she thought there was something going on between you and the midfielder, more so that she was jealous that it was Sofia that got to spend time doing all that fun stuff with you rather than her.
Too caught up in her thoughts, Christen didn’t notice you plop down next to her. “You there?”
“Hmm,” she turns to face you, “yeah, yeah, just got lost in thought.”
“Well, now that I’m all clean,” you smirk, wiggling your eyebrows suggestively, as you move to straddle your girlfriend, “I thought we could make up for some lost time.”
“I like the sound of that.” Christen leans in closer to connect your lips.
—————
The next morning, after a long uneventful night, you woke up in your own bed next to your girlfriend for the first time in months. Turning over, you smile and admire the sleeping woman next to you. Wanting to do something somewhat romantic, you silently slip out of bed, careful not to wake your girlfriend, and head to the kitchen to make some breakfast.
As you were fixing up some coffee and healthy yogurt, oats, and chia seeds (or whatever healthy stuff your girlfriend puts in her breakfast), Christen was groggily waking up. Rolling over, she reaches out to the other side of the bed, expecting to find your warm body, only to be disappointed with cold sheets. Christen rubs her eyes and sits up, but before she could call out to you, you enter the bedroom, carrying a tray with two bowls and a cup of coffee.
“Good morning, sunshine.” You smile, leaning down to give your girlfriend a peck. “Brought you some breakfast in bed.”
“Thanks, babe.” Christen’s heart melted, as she looks to see what you made. “Aw, and you even made my favorite.”
“Yup.” You playfully boast and wink. “Your favorite for my favorite.”
Your girlfriend can’t help but giggle at your cheesiness. “Well, thank you. I appreciate it, love.”
Right as you go to take a bite, Christen grabs your wrist. “Wait.”
“Whatttttt?” You whine like a child.
“Lemme take a photo.” She explains gently, ignoring your antics.
You roll your eyes, as she takes a photo of your bowls and posts it to her Instagram story:
Tumblr media
The two of you spend the rest of the morning in bed, eating breakfast, giggling, catching up, and just enjoying each other’s much missed presence.
—————
Later that afternoon, as the two of you were doing your separate tasks, Christen preoccupied with re-inc and you with your article for the tribune, you finish typing your thought and shut your laptop. You get up from the sofa and approach your girlfriend, who’s sitting at the kitchen counter, wrapping your arms around her waist and resting your chin on her shoulder.
“You almost done?”
“Almost.” Christen hums, smiling slightly, as you kiss her shoulder and then her neck, making your way up to her cheek.
“I’m bored.”
Christen finishes writing her email and then turns around to face you. “Well, what do you wanna do?”
“You’re done?” You ask, feeling slightly guilty from pulling her away from her work, knowing she had more to do.
“I can be, if you offer up a better alternative.” Christen teases.
“Oh, I definitely have something better to offer.” You smirk and bring her in for a deep kiss. You immediately swipe your tongue on her bottom lip, asking for an entrance, which the green-eyed woman grants. Your mouths move in a perfect harmony, like a well-rehearsed dance. As you kiss down her throat, Christen lets out a sigh.
“Yeah,” she breaths, “this is definitely better.”
“Yeah?” You mumble into her neck.
“Mhmm.”
“Well then,” you pull your head out of the crook of her neck, “you’re just gonna have to wait till later because I found this Bob Ross tutorial that we’re gonna do.” You exclaim giddily, and you give Christen’s nose a quick kiss.
“Really, (Y/N)?” She calls out after you, as you go to get the supplies, slightly riled up. But when you come back, balancing canvases in one hand and paints and brushes in the other, Christen completely forgets about her frustration, as she sees your enthusiastic smile.
“C’mon, Chris.” You nod your head for her to follow you into the dining area. “And bring some wine too!”
Christen laughs, shaking her head, but grabs a bottle of rosé and two glasses.
“So what scene are we painting?”
“‘Island in the Wilderness.’” You scroll through YouTube until clicking on the video.
“Sounds hard.” Christen states hesitantly, as she pours some wine for the both of you.
“Eh, it probably is, but that’s the fun of it.” You shrug, thanking her, as she hands you your glass.
“Whatever you say, babe.”
While you’re setting up the canvases on easels and open up the necessary paints, Christen quickly pulls out her phone to take a picture of the set up, once again adding it to her story:
Tumblr media
“Ready?” You turn to your girlfriend, about to start the video. Christen nods and picks up one of the brushes.
About 10 minutes into the tutorial, you lean back into your chair, frustrated by the difficulty of the painting.
“Ugh! This is so hard.” You set your brush down, replacing it with your glass of wine. “How does Bob make it look so easy? Mine looks nothing like his, or even yours.” Pouting, you gesture to Christen’s piece, which unfairly looks quite similar to the video’s.
Your girlfriend just chuckles at you, giving you a quick kiss on the cheek, hoping to placate you. “(Y/N/N), yours is looking great.”
“You have to say that. You’re my girlfriend.” You huff jokingly.
Christen ignores you and continues to watch Bob paint some trees just by flicking his brush back and forth.
Having given up on your own painting, you sit back and watch your girlfriend gracefully paint. You soon become bored, Bob Ross’s soothing voice almost putting you to sleep, so you grab one of your brushes. Reaching out, you poke Christen’s cheek, dotting blue paint across the side of her face.
Her jaw drops, and she turns to face you, as you have to stifle your laughter.
“You did not just do that.” She glares at you, readying her own brush, and before you know it, you have a stripe of green paint down your nose.
You raise your eyebrows at your girlfriend and then narrow your eyes. “Oh, it is so on.” You reach out in front of you and dip your hands in paint, and you see Christen out of the corner of your eye doing the same.
Before she could prepare herself, you’re smearing paint up and down her arms.
“Hey!” Christen shouts. “That’s not fair. I wasn’t ready.”
“All is fair in love and war.” You cheekily smirk.
“Alright, if you wanna play that way…” Christen trails off, as she cups your cheeks with her painted hands, squishing them together, effectively rubbing paint all over your face. “There you go, love.”
“That’s it. You are so getting it.” You wipe your mouth, where some paint had gotten.
Christen squeals and goes to run away, causing you to chase after her. Catching up to her, which is no easy task, fortunately for you, the forward had been wearing socks, you wrap your arms around her waist and pick her up. You nuzzle your nose in the crook of her neck, effectively spreading the paint.
“(Y/N), my clothes!” Your girlfriend exclaims in between laughs.
“It’ll wash out. And if not, I’m pretty sure you have like at least ten other shirts just like that.” You set the other woman back down on the floor, and she turns to wrap her arms around your neck.
“I love you, (Y/N).” She says with a giant grin on her face.
“I love you too, Christen.” You rubs your nose against hers, snorting when you see paint end up on her nose. “You’re more beautiful than any art piece.”
Christen giggles and brings you in for a sweet kiss. Pulling away, she backs away from you, slowly turning around to head to down the hallway.
“I think I could use a shower now.” Christen reaches for the hem of her shirt and pulls it over her head. Looking over her shoulder, she throws you a wink, as she unclips her bra. “You coming?”
Your eyes widen at the sight of the smooth skin of your girlfriend’s back. Shaking your head, you knock yourself out of your stupor and eagerly follow Christen into the bathroom, almost tripping on your own two feet.
—————
About twenty minutes later, the two of you are clean, having gotten rid of nearly all the paint off your bodies. As you’re going to get dressed, you notice Christen changing into a pair of sweat shorts.
“Babe, you might wanna change into something a little warmer.”
“What? Why?” Christen furrows her eyebrows, tilting her head in confusion. “What’s wrong with my shorts?”
“You mean besides the fact that they’re mine?” You tease, earning a blush from your girlfriend. “We’re going out.” You tell her succinctly.
“What? Where?”
“It’s a surprise.” You pull on a pair of loose jeans and slip on a warm sweater.
“Well, will you at least tell me what to wear?” Christen prods.
“Wear some layers. It might get cold.” You give her a quick kiss before heading into the kitchen to prepare your surprise, leaving your girlfriend absolutely clueless and struggling to pick out some clothes.
While Christen was fussing over her outfit, you quickly put together some fruit, and some cheese and crackers into a picnic basket, along with the bottle of rosé, two glasses, and a blanket. Scanning the apartment, you quickly thought of what else you needed. You snatch two of the pillows from the couch and stuff them in another bag.
'What else? Is that everything?’ You think to yourself. ‘Flowers, definitely need some flowers!’
You grab the basket and the bag with the pillows and head to the front door. “Chris, I’m gonna go pick up the mail!” While that was only partly true, as the mail had definitely been sitting in your box all day, you were also gonna go put these bags in your car and pick some flowers on the way out.
“Okay, thanks, babe!” She yells back from the bedroom. With that, you kick the door shut behind you and head down to the garage.
After having picking some flowers from the shared garden at the front of your apartment building, putting everything in the trunk, and grabbing the mail, you reenter your apartment.
“What took so long?” Christen asks with no malice in her voice.
You look up from the mail, and your breath hitches. Your girlfriend was wearing a simple outfit, a pair of light-washed jeans and a sherpa quarter zip, and her curly hair was in a half-up-half-down bun. While it may be simple, her beauty never failed to take your breath away.
“(Y/N)?” She pulls you out of your thoughts.
“Sorry,” you shake your head, “I ran into Jerry, and he wanted to know, and I quote, ‘where the hell’ I’ve been.”
Christen chuckles. “Of course he did.”
Jerry was the doorman and was very excited when he found at that Christen Press and (Y/N) (Y/L/N) would be living in the building, as he was a huge fan of women’s soccer.
“So, you ready?” You reach out to take your girlfriend’s hand.
“Yup.” She squeezes your hand. “You still not gonna tell me where we’re going?”
“Nope.” You quip. “You’ll just have to be patient, my love.”
“Fine.” Christen pouts, and you kiss her cheek, wiping the frown off her face.
—————
It was about a fifteen minute drive to the beach from your apartment, and when Christen recognized the familiar route, she piped up.
“We’re going to the beach?”
“Mhmm.” You hum. “You’re too smart for your own good, Press.”
“That’s what happens when you go to Stanford.” Christen teases, knowing your distain towards the school, you yourself having gone to Cal.
“Whatever.” You mumble under your breath, earning a small giggle from the other woman.
You park the car and race around to open Christen’s door for her. “M’lady.” You say with a fake posh British accent, as you hold your hand out for her to take.
“Why thank you.” She blushes, responding with her own accent.
As you open the trunk and pull out the things for your picnic, Christen’s eyes soften and feels her whole body flush with a warmth she could only describe as love.
“(Y/N/N),” she gasps, “what is all of this for?”
Closing the trunk, you give her a goofy grin. “What? I have to have a reason to spoil my girlfriend and take her on a romantic picnic on the beach?”
“I mean— no.” Christen’s cheeks tint pink.
“That’s what I thought.” You throw her a wink. “Now, c’mon, this food won’t eat itself!”
The two of you make your way down onto the beach, finding the perfect spot where there weren’t very many people. After you finish setting up the blanket and pillows and unpack the picnic basket, Christen snaps a photo of the serene setting, as the sun is almost setting.
Tumblr media
“Chris, come join me!” You wave over your girlfriend, who notices that you’re now sitting on the blanket, snacking on some grapes.
The forward slips off her shoes and takes a seat next to you, sinking her toes in the sand.
“This is amazing, (Y/N).” Christen intertwines your fingers and kisses the back of your hand. “Thank you for this, and this entire day really. I don’t know what I did to deserve it.”
“Just being you, Chris. You deserve the world.” You smile softly. “Annnddd, I figured since we’ve been apart for so long, this was the least I could do.”
“Well, thank you, again.”
You lean in to give her a sweet kiss. “Anytime, babe.” And Christen could tell by your voice, and just from knowing you, that you truly did mean any time, that you would do anything for her because she would do anything for you.
Watching the sunset, the two of you snack on the food and sip on the wine you’d brought, conversing about plans for the holidays and the upcoming Olympics.
At the break of your conversations, as you sit in silence, watching the waves crash and the last rays of sun reflect across the water, you feel your phone buzz. Checking the screen, you see it’s a text from Megan, and you chuckle in amusement but also in confusion.
“Chris, do you know why Pinoe texted me saying: ‘Thanks for making me look bad with all your romantic gestures. Now Sue is badgering me, asking why I never do stuff like that for her.’?”
“Um, I have no idea.” Christen looks down, suddenly finding the sand incredibly interesting.
“Hmm, okay.” You eye your girlfriend suspiciously, as you text your teammate back, asking her what she’s talking about. Seconds later, you get a response telling you to check Christen’s Instagram story. Opening the app, you click on your girlfriend’s posts and notice she’s documented the activities throughout your day, from breakfast in bed to painting Bob Ross to your romantic picnic.
Looking up from your phone, you turn to Christen and see she’s still fiddling with the grains of sand.
“Chris?” You gently coax. “Is this what Pinoe was talking about?”
She nods, feeling embarrassed. “I’m sorry.”
“No, no, no,” you grab her hands, guiding her to look at you, “I’m not mad at you, baby, not at all.”
You weren’t angry or upset with her for posting those pictures, as your relationship wasn’t a secret to anybody, but you knew this wasn’t like Christen at all. You knew your girlfriend was a very private person, not one to post or flaunt your relationship on social media, and you respected her decisions and boundaries, being a somewhat conserved person as well.
“I’m just surprised, that’s all.” You continue, gently brushing a loose hair out of her face. “What brought this on?”
Christen murmurs something under her breath.
“I’m sorry? I didn’t quite catch that.”
She takes a deep breath and repeats herself. “I wanted to show everyone that you’re mine. I know it’s stupid, but I was a jealous of Sofia and how you two got to spend so much time together. And I know that you would never ever cheat on me, I know that, (Y/N), but it just sucked that I couldn’t be with you for the past two months, so I just wanted to show people that—“
You bring your girlfriend’s face closer to yours and kiss her, cutting off her rambling. Leaning your forehead against hers, you look deeply into her eyes.
“I love you, Christen. And being away from you for these past two months absolutely sucked because you’re my home, Chris, as cheesy as that sounds it’s true. I’m sorry if I did anything to make you feel like I was ignoring you by spending time with Sofia. I love you and only you.”
Christen shakes her head. “No, (Y/N), you didn’t do anything wrong, I promise. I was just frustrated by this whole pandemic and not being able to spend time with you.”
“Me too, Chris, me too.” You pepper her face with kisses, causing her to throw her head back giggling.
“And I’m sorry if me posting stuff from our day made you uncomfortable.” Christen apologizes sincerely, before nudging you with a slight smirk on her face. “I just wanted to show off my amazing romantic girlfriend to the world.”
You let out a hearty laugh. “I don’t mind being shown off, babe, not at all.”
“Good, because I plan on doing it for a long time. You’re stuck with me.” She sticks out her tongue at you, earning a fond smile.
“Lucky me.”

Fraternizing with the Enemy (Alpha Lindsey X Omega Emily x Alpha Reader)
Tumblr media
Request 1: Soran and reader where Emily gets fouled a lot or something and the both of her girlfriends come to her aid but the reader is on Seattle’s team? I meant NWSL where Soran is still on the thorns
Request 2: soran x reader with Lindsey and the reader as alphas and sonnett as an omega
You had a reputation. Your temper on the pitch was known (and feared) around the world. You would argue part of that temper was due to your protective nature (particularly over your unmated mates at the time), and that the rest were some really bad overblown rumors (anyone who played on the field with you would venture to disagree).
Since mating your mates a year and a half ago, you had relaxed considerably, mellowing out and becoming much less quick to anger.
This whole chaos cup had put you on edge. You were on OL Reign, while your mates were Thorns and that meant that you were kept segregated from them. To make matters worse, Emily had experienced a heat during this shit show, and the NWSL wouldn’t bend the rules to allow you to experience it with her and Lindsey. Thank God your alpha mate had been there to protect your omega.
You hadn’t wanted Emily to play so soon after her heat, but here she was holding up the Thorns backline against your team.
“Better luck next time Daddy,” Emily laughed, helping you up from a well-placed slide tackle and pulling you into her. You hugged her close. You weren't a soft person, but you were soft for them. You allowed her soothing pheromones to calm the beast inside you for a moment before pulling away. You smiled crookedly, leaning down to kiss her lips, savoring her scent. It was always so sweet after her heats. Her hand trailed down your chest and landed very high in your thigh. You laughed, reaching around to lightly slap her but.
“Watch it hot stuff, wouldn’t wanna write a check you aren’t willing to cash,”
She giggled, slapping your chest, and you couldn’t help the corners of your lips tilting up. Lindsey shook her head at the two of you from across the pitch. She knew how painful it had been for you to be separated from them when they needed you, but she didn’t think you and Emily would actually start groping each other on the pitch. She thought Mark was crazy for having Emily be the one to mark you. Yes, she was a fantastic defender, but Becky would have been a safer option considering you and Sonny were doing everything in your power to touch each other. She guessed he thought it would force Sonnett to focus, but all it seemed to be doing was distracting you both.
“You two aren’t supposed to be touching,” Sofia Huerta called out, approaching you. You rolled your eyes at the woman, unsure why your fellow forward was interrupting your moment with one of your mates.
“She’s my mate, I think it’s safe,”
“Yeah, well when you risk the rest of the team’s safety, I think maybe you should give a fuck about something besides your penis,” She snorted. She didn’t like that you always thought you could break the rule with no consequences. You were constantly shirking the rules, with both the national team and your club, and she was fucking tired of it. This was their health you were messing with by fraternizing with the other team.
“Hmm, your cock does sound good though, missed it last week,” Emily mumbled, reaching down and trying to squeeze your member. You caught her wrist, bringing her hand to your lips instead.
“Behave hot stuff,” You mumbled, kissing Emily’s forehead, blatantly ignoring your annoyed teammate.
“Yeah, good luck with that Y/n,” Lindsey laughed as she approached, pulling Emily away for the hydration break, you smirked after them, sure you would get the opportunity to get close to them again during the game.
****
You were going to kill someone. Somewhere between the hydration break and the restart of play, your teammates had lost brain cells. They took absolutely every opportunity they could to sweep your omega off of her feet (which didn’t make sense cause she was a defender and not a forward).
“What the fuck are you doing?” You growl, passing Sofia who had just taken your mate down for the 5th time. She smirked in your direction.
“Shirking the safety regulations just like you are,” she shrugged, and you clenched your fist, watching as Lindsey pulled Emily to her feet, holding the omega close and sending you a short nod. You gulped, taking a deep breath.
“Knock it off before I decide to break the regulations a different way,” You said, far too calmly. Your famous temper was about to make an appearance (and though your mates found it hot when you went all alpha on people, they really didn’t want a brawl during this stupid game. That was all they needed, they wouldn’t be able to go to the hospital with you anyway).
“Whatever you say,” She rolled her eyes at you, sprinting off. The best thing she thought she could do for your team was get the distraction off of the field, and if that meant on a stretcher then so be it.
*****
The rumble left your lips before your brain even registered it. The dominant pheromones rolling off you in a wave determined to protect your mates at all costs. You rushed towards the forward who dare hurt your mate, too enraged to join Lindsey in comforting the omega layer out on her side.
Lindsey watched you with worried eyes, returning her attention to your hurt mate, and allowing you to go and play protector.
“I know that was a bad tackle, but I’m fine,” Emily rolled her eyes at the protective behaviors of her alphas.
“You’re bleeding,” Lindsey growled back, her attention returning to the leg that the medics were doing a patch job on. It was by for the lest serious injury she had ever suffered, but the fact that your team went after her at all was astonishing.
“You two are going to be miserable aren’t you?” Emily sighed, huffing slightly. She wasn’t an invalid, but with you unable to accompany her during heat and the insane amount of fouls she had taken today, she was sure that you two would be smothering her in love and protection. Probably throwing fits if she didn’t let you cater to her every need. It was going to suck.
“Y/n is still being forced to quarantine with Reign so it’ll probably just be me,” Lindsey mumbled back, puffing out her chest. She needed to do the job for both of you, and she would.
She watched as you rushed your teammate, hauling them up by their shirt and growing angrily in their face. You shook them a few times, ignoring the yell of the ref for you to let go and calm down. You were too far gone, and your inner wolf wouldn’t be happy until the girl was cowering in submission.
“I don’t think they’ll keep you separated after that,” Ali said softly, kneeling next to Lindsey to check on Emily. If anything, the only thing that would help the situation would be to let you room with your mates. It was Sophia’s only hope of living through the remainder of the tournament.
“Shit,” Lindsey winced as you tossed the young alpha to the ground, standing over her with your teeth bared.
“Fuck that’s hot,” Emily said breathlessly, her eyes zeroing in on how your clenched fists made your arms pop. It was rare they got to see you angry anymore, and when it wasn’t directed at them, it was a sight to behold. She was definitely adding that to the spank bank for the nights she was stuck in Georgia without the two of you.
“You better go stop her. I think you’re the only one not in danger of losing an arm if you try,” Ali mumbled, nudging Lindsey’s shoulder as you took another menacing step towards the other alpha. Lindsey bit her lip, glancing at her omega. She didn’t want to leave her, especially when she was in pain.
“Go, stop the knot head from killing her teammates,” Emily laughed, shoving her alpha. Lindsey looked unsure but jogged off anyway.
Emily shook her head as you melted into Lindsey’s strong embrace and allowed her to drag you off the field.
There was never a dull moment with her stupid, protective alphas. Sure you were technically fraternizing with the enemy, but that was safer than trying to keep you away from the women you loved.

Not my best idea (Sofia Huerta x Reader)
Based on this request
This isn't my best work and it's kinda short, but I have been trying to get this done for weeks now and wanted to get it finished. Hope it's okay and you enjoy it :)
Words: 1K
An elbow dug into my side, making my head snap to a laughing Emily. I scowled, turning back to the life guard that had captured my attention. She was beyond attractive. It didn't help that she was wearing a bikini top and board shorts, showing off more skin than I could handle. I'm pretty sure at this point it was incredibly obvious that I found her attractive. I couldn't stop myself from staring at her whenever she wasn't looking. She had already caught me a few times. It didn't help that I saw her almost every day since the girls were constantly wanting to go in our free time. No matter how many times the girls hyped me up or how many times I attempted to make my move, I always chickened out. I could barely talk to her, let alone ask her out.
"If you keep staring at her, you're going to creep her out. Quick be normal, she's coming over."
"Shush."
Y/n stopped in front of us, smile on her face and I could feel any composure I had disappear. "Hey ladies, how's everything going?"
"We can't complain."
"Good, do you think I could get a hand really quick? I need to move that table."
"Sure, Sof will help you, won't you?"
"Y-yeah." I glared at them as I followed behind her. There was an awkward silence as I walked behind her. Well maybe it only felt awkward because of how nervous I was feeling being this close to her alone. I wanted to say something, but I didn't know what. I never knew how to start a conversation with her or even keep a conversation going properly.
"Thanks for the help. I'm sorry to drag you away from your relaxation time."
"A-anytime."
Y/n looked at me, looking like she was waiting for me to say something else while also looking like she was wanting to say something. Instead, we just looked at each other until I was called back over to the girls. I silently cursed them as I had just about worked up the courage to say something. Now that had just vanished, "I'll uh see you later."
Of course I was teased about my awkwardness before some of the team left back to their rooms. I decided to stay for a while, hoping maybe I would get the courage to talk to her. A girl could dream anyway. It didn't happen, I just lay in the chair, watching her while trying not to make it obvious I was watching her. I knew I was being ridiculous. Just talking to her would make my life easier, but I was scared. The last thing I wanted to do was make her uncomfortable. She seemed to be at least a little bit into me. There were the flirty smiles, subtle flirty comments and a few touches here and there. Though, for all I knew she was just being nice because it was her job.
For some stupid reason I decided the only possible way to get her to kiss me without talking to her, was to fake drown. In hindsight, watching sandlot probably wasn't the best idea. It wasn't that I actually planned to do it, but after watching some other women flirt with Y/n, I decided to do it, admittedly out of jealously. So once everyone including most of the team had left, I slipped into the pool. Moving around for a few minutes before I started flailing around and dunking under the water. There was a splash and a few seconds later, strong arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me up and out of the pool. I held my breath, lips pressing against mine. Unfortunately, I couldn't stop the gasp that slipped out as my lips twitched with the desire to kiss her back. I could only hope she didn't notice.
Y/n POV
My lips pressed against hers, intending to start mouth to mouth however the twitch of her lips against mine and the almost silent gasp, gave away that she likely didn't need it. I had seen Sofia watching me quite a lot, a shy, but flirtatious smile sent my way every time our eyes met. I had also overheard conversations about how it would feel to kiss me. It was definitely a mutual feeling, I just enjoyed watching how flustered she got around me. It also seemed more professional to let her come to me first. I decided to throw professionalism out the window and connected our lips in a proper kiss. Her lips instantly moved against mine before I pulled away. It was short and sweet, leaving me wanting more. We were still at the pool though and even though it was only her and I, there was the potential for someone else to show up.
I laughed, helping her sit up, "Did you really just try pull off that scene from sandlot?"
Sofia smiled sheepishly, "Maybe. Sorry I know it was really stupid and I'm sorry if I worried you. Apparently when you're around I lose all ability to speak to women and resort to fake drowning instead."
"If you wanted a kiss, all you had to do was ask."
"W-what?"
"You heard me, although you would have had to wait until after the first date. That would involve talking to me though and not just fake drowning."
Sofia looked down, redness covering her cheeks. It was adorable how shy and embarrassed she looked. I probably could have just asked her out and put her out of her misery, but I wanted a bit of payback for her scaring the shit out of me. It took a few seconds for her to look at me again, determination filled her beautiful eyes, "Will you go on a date with me Y/n?"
"Promise you won't fake drown again? You almost gave me a heart attack."
"Promise."
"Then I would love to go on a date with you." I pecked her lips, loving the way she tried to chase after me as I pulled away. "Na uh, you get more after the date. How's tonight?"
"Tonight is perfect, I'll pick you up at 6?"
Fingers laced with mine, squeezing gently when I kissed the back of her hand, "Look who finally gained the ability to speak. I can't wait."

From everything, to nothing and back again (Sofia Huerta x Reader)
Based on this request. I hope you enjoy and it's what you were looking for!
So I know I said writing has taken a back burner, but I decided to ignore my essay to finish a request instead. This is not edited at all. Thanks for reading!
Warnings: Slight mention of forced kissed
Words: 1.5k
Sofia and I had known each other since we were kids, we grew up together, we did everything together. Everyone would tell you that we were inseparable, that you would hardly ever see one of us without the other. Throughout the years, it never really changed, even when one of us got into a relationship we were still inseparable. That was until everything changed. We went from inseparable to nothing over night.
For a few days, I didn't understand what had happened, I didn't know why she was suddenly ignoring me. Even when I begged her to just talk to me, to tell me what happened, she would walk away every time and when I went to message her I realised I was blocked on everything. What happened didn't hit me until I was lying in bed late one night, some of the memories from the party came flooding back.
I didn't remember all of it, just bits and pieces. We were drunk, very drunk actually, me so more than Sofia. I don't remember where she had gone, but I was alone with her girlfriend. The next thing I remembered was being pushed against the wall with her lips against mine as I tried to push her away. I didn't have the chance or ability to stop her before it happened. Because I was so drunk, it had taken quite a bit to build the strength to push her away. The last thing I saw when I was finally able to push her away, was Sofia walking away with tears in her eyes as her girlfriend whispered something about Sofia finally getting rid of me. I mean I guess it worked, but it also backfired because they had broken up anyway.
It hurt that after years of us being friends, Sofia would think I would do something like that to her. That she would think I would ever betray her trust or ruin our friendship for a girl. Sofia meant more to me than anyone else. Also, I was completely in love with Sofia, not that she knew that.
That was almost 6 months ago now, we hadn't spoken since that night unless we were on the field. I was still hurt that she thought I would ever do that to her, I still missed her like crazy. We would probably never be friends again, but I was tired of the rift between us. I was tired of walking on egg shells around her, of feeling like I couldn't be anywhere near her and always cancelling on the team if she was invited. I didn't know how to change it though, not after this long.
Of course it got worse when we were roomed together one camp. Snarky and just plain rude comments started, mostly from Sofia while I tried my best to ignore it. She never used anything I had told her against me or really made any personal attacks though which gave me a bit of hope that maybe she didn't hate me as much as she portrayed. Ignoring it worked for a few days until I just snapped.
"We have known each for 16 fucking years Sofia. How could you think I would ever do anything like that to you or anyone? I thought you knew me better than that, I thought you knew who I was inside and out, but obviously you don't."
"I saw you! I saw you kissing her! You can't deny what I saw."
"No, what you saw was her taking advantage of my drunken state and forcing that kiss on me when I wasn't able to easily push her off. She knew I was to drunk to stop her, she planned it so you would see it Sofia, so you would finally get rid of me. The last thing I ever wanted to do was kiss her. If anything I wanted to kiss you, I've always wanted to kiss you and only you. But obviously you just think the worst of me. Maybe our entire friendship was worthless after all."
Sofia opened her mouth to say something, but I was already walking out of the room. I couldn't be around her anymore without completely snapping. I also just pretty much confessed my feelings to her which was never meant to happen. I found myself on the roof, leaning against the edge as I looked out over the city. It was my safe space, the spot where I had been countless times to clear my head. I don't know how long I had been there when the door slammed shut behind me. I spun around to find Sofia standing there.
"Shit sorry, that was unintentional."
"How did you find me?"
Sofia shrugged, moving slightly closer, but keeping her distance from me and the edge. I knew heights made her nervous, "You seem to gravitate to high places when somethings wrong, you always have much to my distaste."
I watched her for a second, trying to figure out what she wanted or what she was thinking. Was she here so we could yell at each other some more or to actually talk? I couldn't figure it out so I sighed, "What do you want Sofia?"
"You never told me any of that."
"You never gave me the chance. You completely cut me out Sofia," I was pretty much yelling at that point, all the pent up emotions coming out. "You were my bestfriend and you just cut me out. After all the years we had known each other, you just dropped me like it was the easiest thing in the world. You didn't care, you didn't care what happened, you just saw what you wanted to see."
"You're right, I was drunk and saw you two kissing and just thought the worst. That was the last thing I wanted to see though and not even because it was my girlfriend you were kissing, but because you were kissing someone in general. You're wrong about it being easy Y/n. It has been the worst 6 months of my life without you, I miss you like crazy, I still want to run to you with everything. I'm sorry I cut you out, I was hurt and needed space, then you just stopped trying and ignored me back. I thought maybe you were done with me too."
Sofia was starting to look pretty uncomfortable. It was likely a combination of the heights and the conversation. I moved away from the edge, sitting down against the wall, Sofia sat down next to me, leaving a bit of space. Once we were both settled, I spoke up again, "I was hurt that you were ignoring me, that it seemed so easy for you to just stop talking to me. I didn't even remember what happened at first, it just seemed like you didn't want to be friends with me anymore. Then I remembered and the fact you thought I could do that to you just added to the hurt. I guess I just figured what was the point in trying if you so clearly wanted nothing to do with me?"
"I'm sorry Y/n, I'm sorry for everything I've done and said. Deep down I knew you would never do anything like that, well not even deep down. I know you would never do that to me or anyone, but seeing you kiss someone even if it was my girlfriend made me feel something I can't fully describe, whether it was jealousy or anger or sadness or all of them, I don't know. I was in a relationship, but I was feeling this way about you, my bestfriend. It's not necessarily new, but I think that was the first time I had actually seen you kissing someone. All the feelings I have for you just hit me at once, it was overwhelming to say the least. It's not an excuse for how I acted, but I think it definitely contributed to it. I'm sorry, is there anyway you could forgive me? Anyway that we could go back to how we were?"
Before I could fully realise what was happening, my hand was buried in her hair, lips connecting with hers roughly. Sofia cupped my cheek softly, slowing down the kiss so our lips were moving in sync, soft and slow. The kiss was filled with love, want, and all the emotions that had built up over the last 6 months. There was no awkwardness, no hesitation. It felt right, it was everything I had wanted and more. I pulled away slowly, forehead resting against hers. "I don't want to go back to how we were. I've been in love with you for years and I'm really hoping I interpreted what you were saying correctly otherwise this is awkward."
"You did Y/n/n. Maybe I didn't know it all along, but I'm in love with you, I want you."
"I want you too Sof, but I need us to take this slow. I'm still dealing with the last 6 months and I don't want to rush into things. Maybe we could start with dates and see if we work together in the romantic way."
Sofia kissed my forehead softly, "We can go at whatever speed you need Y/n/n. You lead, I follow."

Puppy Love
Sofia Huerta x Reader
Word Count: 1.5k
[WOSO Masterlist]
When Sofia got the call from Nikki, she was concerned. Nikki had been watching Daisy while Sofia herself was off for the set of friendlies in New Zealand.
It was a quick call. Nikki had an emergency that she had to leave for, which meant she couldn’t watch Daisy anymore. Sofia was racking her brain, mentally making a list of people she could call last minute to watch Daisy, when Nikki informed her of your existence.
“My best friend is staying at my place right now, so I hope it’s okay if she watches Daisy.”
Sofia was skeptical at first. Especially when Nikki let it slip that you had two dogs of your own.
“Nik, I love you, but I don’t know if you telling me one girl is watching four dogs is making me feel any better.”
“Sof,” Nikki starts. “I know this isn’t the ideal situation, but I promise she’s amazing with dogs. Daisy will be well taken care of until you get back in a couple days.”
Really, it’s the photo you send not even ten minutes after she hangs up the phone with her club teammate that makes Sofia start to think about you in a different light.
In it, Daisy’s half laying on top of an unfamiliar german shepherd. Burger has his paws resting upon this dog’s head too, but it doesn’t seem to faze the dog at all. She squints, wondering if she’ll get a glimpse of your second mysterious dog, but can’t seem to find it anywhere.
Your text accompanying the picture is sweet and simple.
[I know this isn’t the best of circumstances but I promise Daisy’s being well taken care of!]
Sofia sits up in her bed, smiling at the image of three dogs.
[I hope she hasn’t been too much trouble. Nikki said something about you taking care of four dogs?? I can get someone to come grab her in the morning]
Your response is instantaneous. This time it’s a picture of you cuddling with all four dogs. Sofia’s first thought is that you’re cute. Leave up to Nikki to be friends with someone who looks like a literal goddess. Sofia’s too busy admiring the way you look underneath all of the fur that she doesn’t see the caption at first.
[Don’t worry about it! This cuddle puddle wouldn’t be the same without Daisy here!]
She can’t deny how happy Daisy looks, licking your cheek while you have a wide grin in the picture.
[If you’re sure. I don’t want to trouble you too much]
You guys text back and forth for a little bit before you call it a night. Sofia feels guilty for a second, forgetting about the time difference. It’s already close to midnight where she is, she couldn’t imagine how long you’ve been awake now.
When she falls asleep later that night, she does so with the image of your bright smile painted on the inside of her eyelids, wondering what your voice sounds like.
---
The two of you communicate regularly. You send her countless pictures of Daisy with the three other dogs in your care. Daisy looks so genuinely happy in each one, Sofia almost feels guilty for having to take her away from the other dogs in a couple days.
With each interaction between the two of you, Sofia can’t help but crush on you harder. You’re just so easy to talk to, not to mention how good you are with Daisy.
The first time she calls you, Sofia makes the excuse of wanting to see Daisy. The way you answer while in a sports bra and the shortest running shorts ever nearly makes Sofia’s brain short-circuit.
“Sorry,” you huff, brushing your hair out of your face. “We just came back from a run.”
“Is it not freezing over there right now?” Sofia laughs, trying to mask her flusterness with a joke.
The grin you give her makes her heart feel funny. “I’m Seattle born and raised. The cold doesn’t bother me.”
“Okay, weirdo.”
Although it’s the first time the two of you talk, conversation comes easily. By the time Rose comes to get her for practice, Sofia almost doesn’t want to leave.
“Sof, we gotta--” Rose blinks, looking over Sofia’s shoulder at the phone. “(Y/N)?”
You look up from where you’re fixing yourself some food. “Oh hey, Rose!”
Sofia looks between the two of you. “You guys know each other?”
Rose rolls her eyes. “Do I know (Y/N)? She literally named one of her dogs after me.”
“Fake news. Rosie the dog came with her name from the shelter. You’re just the annoying human that came with Nikki from soccer.”
Sofia nearly chokes at the offhanded way you insult Rose. Rose merely snorts as if the two of you have had this conversation multiple times already.
“Yeah, yeah, whatever. You better be treating mini me with all the love she deserves. Anyways,” she turns back towards the defender. “We gotta go. Bus leaves in ten.”
“Right, sorry. Be right there.”
“Go kick some soccer ass. It was nice talking to you.”
Sofia doesn’t have a chance to say anything before you’re switching the camera. Sofia’s met with the giant face of her dog.
“Daisy, come here! Say bye to your mom!”
When you finally hang up the phone, Sofia has the biggest smile on her face. When she looks up, getting ready to leave the room, she realizes with a start that Rose is still lingering by the door.
The younger girl has a shit eating grin on her face that only spells trouble. “Sof, do you have a crush?”
“What? No! Of course not!” she sputters.
“Right. So you wouldn’t care if I told you (Y/N) was single.”
“She’s single?” Sofia doesn’t have a chance to stop herself before she asks the question.
By the time they get to the bus, Rose has teased her so much that Sofia has no choice but to sink into her seat with a red face.
---
You’re playing fetch with the dogs when Sofia meets you in person for the first time. Daisy races past your outstretched hand to barrel into her owner, barking with joy.
“Hi, Daisy girl! Were you good for (Y/N)?”
The soft crunching of gravel has her looking up again. You look as good in person as you did over the screen of her phone. If anything, you look even better. Sofia has to swallow her groan when you give her a soft smile.
“Hi.”
“Hey.”
She doesn’t know if it’s weird, but Sofia hugs you all the same when she gets up. She doesn’t know if she’s imagining it too when she spots a faint blush on your cheeks.
“It’s great to finally meet you.”
“Yeah of course. Thank you so much for watching Daisy. I’m sure you didn’t sign up to watch four dogs when you decided to come visit Nikki.”
“Is that what she told you?” you laugh.
Sofia frowns. “What, she didn’t actually have a real emergency?”
“No, no, she did. I was just referring to the ‘visiting Nik’ thing.”
Sofia stays silent, not really sure where you’re going with this.
“I moved back here from Cali a couple months ago. I’m Nikki’s permanent roommate, no matter how hard she tries to get rid of me.”
“Oh, so I guess I’ll be seeing you around?” She tries to play it off as if she doesn’t have any real expectations to see you again, but deep down, Sofia knows that she’d do anything just to make up a reason to get to see you after you give back Daisy.
“Well yeah, you’re kind of stuck with me now. Daisy and I have really bonded in your absence. I’m expecting full visiting privileges.” Your words are spoken with a grin, and Sofia can’t help but laugh at your demand.
“I’m gonna miss you, Daisy girl.” Leaning down, you press a kiss Daisy’s forehead, the giant pup wiggling from all of your attention.
“We can always take our dogs out for a puppy play date,” Sofia shrugs, trying to play it cool. “That way you can see Daisy again. And I’m sure she’d love to play with your dogs too.”
“Or…” you trail off, keeping your eyes focused on where the three dogs are now rolling around together on the ground.
“Or?” Sofia repeats, trying not to get her hopes up.
You look nervous now, eyes still not meeting hers. “I know a restaurant nearby that’s pet friendly. If you happen to be free tomorrow night, I’d love some company.”
“Are you asking me out on a date?”
You chew on the inside of your cheeks, finally raising your eyes to meet hers. “Are you going to get creeped out if I say yes?”
Sofia’s heart instantly feels warm. She’s smiling so hard that her cheeks hurt, but she really couldn’t care less. “Text me the time and place. I’ll be there.”
Your eyes light up. “Right, yeah, cool. I’ll definitely do that.”
By the time she leaves hours later, having been caught up getting to know you, Sofia has a feeling that maybe, hopefully, both her and Daisy will be seeing a lot more of you.

Let me help you heal (Sofia Huerta x Reader)
This was requested a while ago, sorry it took so long to get finished! I'm trying to work through some of the requests! I hope you enjoy :)
Request: How about Sofia and Rose broke up and reader is on the team and works to love Sofia's broken heart? I love a good vulnerable love story.
Words- 3k
When Rose had told me that her and Sofia broke up, I was pissed. My mind instantly went to every bad scenario there was. It ranged from Sofia cheating on her to being abusive or anything else my mind came up with. Rose and I had been bestfriends for years, I loved her more then anything. I would have killed Sofia for hurting her. Before I could get too pissed, Rose had assured me that Sofia hadn't actually done anything. They weren't working well together anymore and had mutually agreed to end their relationship. My anger at Sofia had gone away, but I hated seeing Rose in pain. I was relieved that I didn't have to hate her, especially since Sofia and I ended up rooming together at the camp that had just started.
I had just gotten back from lunch with a couple of the girls. Sofia was sitting on her bed, eyes fixed on the wall, tear stains drying on her cheeks. I wasn't exactly sure what to do. We had hung out a few times when I visited Rose, but we didn't actually know each other that well. I didn't want to over step, though I also didn't like seeing people in pain.
I cleared my throat to let her know I was there before asking, "Hey, uh is everything okay?"
"It's fine," Sofia replied quietly, avoiding my eyes.
"Look, I know you don't really know me, but I'm here if you want to talk about anything."
"Thank you, but I know you and Rose are friends. I don't want to make it awkward for you."
"We are, but that doesn't mean I can't talk to you. You didn't cheat on her or do anything to hurt her so I have nothing against you."
"It was mutual, we weren't working anymore. It still hurts though. I miss having her around. Everything is awkward, not just between Rose and I, but the whole team. Everyone feels like they need to pick a side or walk on egg shells around us. I hate it. I hate that I caused it."
"Sofia, it's not your fault. Not everyone is meant to end up together in the long term. It's okay that it hurts, you love her despite your relationship not working, but I know you'll get through it. It might take time, but I bet you and Rose will be back to friends in no time. As for the team, they'll likely settle pretty quickly. You've been together for quite a while, the girls aren't used to you being apart. I'm here if you need anything okay?"
She nodded, picking at the loose thread on her blanket for a few minutes before breaking the silence again, "Can I have a hug?"
I smiled softly, not hesitating to get off my bed and open my arms for her. Sofia hesitated for a second before wrapping her arms around my waist, face burying into the crook of my neck as mine went around her shoulders. I held her tightly until she pulled away with a small smile on her face. I told myself then, that I would do whatever it takes to make her smile, to help her be okay again. I definitely had a soft spot for her.
"Thank you Y/n."
---
Practice had just ended and we had just made it back to the hotel. I was planning on heading to the shop down the road to get some stuff for Sofia, a care package of sorts to help her feel better. I had done the same for Rose when they had first broken up. Before I left, I saw Rose standing by the door. I snuck up beside her, arm wrapping around her shoulder. She jumped, but relaxed into my side.
"Hey Rosie, how are you holding up?"
Rose glared at me for a second before sighing, "It's hard. Harder than I thought actually, but I'll be okay. I'm worried about Sofia. Though, I guess I don't have the right anymore. The team is also being weird. It makes me feel guilty and I just hate it."
"This was mutual right?"
"Yeah, we weren't working anymore. We loved each other more as friends then partners."
"Exactly, you're friends, you are allowed to worry about her, she's just as worried about you. I know it's hard right now. Just give it sometime and you guys will make it back to how you were before. As for the team, don't feel guilty, they'll get over it eventually. I've got you Rose, never hesitate to come to me, I'm always here."
"Thank you Y/n. Where are you heading?"
"To the shop. I um, I want to get a few things to help Sofia feel better."
I was half expecting her to be mad, but she laughed instead. "You really are amazing Y/n. Do you even know what she likes?"
That was something I hadn't thought about. I was pretty sure she was vegan, but other than that I wasn't sure. I smiled sheepishly, "I was just going to wing it."
Rose laughed again before giving me a quick run down on what Sofia liked and what would likely make her feel better. It felt a little bit weird to get information from Sofia's ex about what to get her, but I also wanted to get it right. We talked for a few more minutes before I made my way to do some shopping.
Sofia was lying on her bed watching tv when I got back to the room. She looked at me briefly, face morphing into confusion when she saw the flowers I was holding. Before she could ask about them, I made my way next to her bed, clearing my throat. Something I did when I was nervous. I didn't want her to get the wrong idea or feel uncomfortable, my only intention was to make her feel at least a little bit better. "These are for you."
"You got me flowers?"
"Uh yeah. I thought maybe they might make you feel a bit better. Um, I got you this stuff as well." I handed her the bag before the nerves got the better of me and I escaped to the bathroom. Normally, I wasn't that nervous of a person, but for some reason this was making me nervous. There wasn't a reason I could figure out, so I tried to push it away. All I was doing was being nice to a friend. When I came out of the bathroom, Sofia was still sitting on her bed, looking down at the stuff with a small smile on her face. The smile turned into a grin when she saw me as she quickly jumped up, arms wrapping around me.
"Thank you Y/n. This is amazing."
"Your welcome Sof."
---
The tension in the team was noticeable. Everyone was acting weird, especially around Rose and Sofia. I could see how guilty they both felt over causing it and it annoyed me. It wasn't their fault that the team was acting like this. We were all in the meal room, minus Sofia and Rose. They were always late down, while I was one of the first ones there. I took this opportunity to voice my annoyance at the team.
"Alright, listen up!" Only a few of the girls stopped talking and looked at me, "I said shut up."
The room was suddenly dead quiet as they all looked at me. It took a lot of self control not to burst out laughing at the look of fear on some of the younger players faces. "Rose and Sofia are over, they are not getting back together, but they also don't hate each other. It was mutual, something they both decided was right for them. They are both hurting, both feeling guilty for the weirdness that's happening in the team right now. You guys need to stop. You feel like you need to pick sides, be extra careful around them, but you don't. They are both your friends and teammates. Just treat them like it. Support them, love them, but stop treating them differently."
There were embarrassed and ashamed expressions on all the girls faces, before anyone could say anything, Rose walked in. Everyone went back to their conversations, pretending nothing had happened. I only hoped it worked and things could go back to normal.
"What did you say to them?" Rose asked noticing how the girls were glancing at each other then at her before looking away quickly. Every one of them avoiding looking at me. I just shrugged, turning back to my own dinner. She didn't need to know what I had said, as long as they knew I was looking out for them, that I had their backs, I was happy.
Once I finished eating, I stuck around long enough to make sure Sofia made it down and started eating before leaving. I was always one of the first people to leave, but it was earlier then normal because I had a family facetime. I could feel eyes on me as I left, it was likely the team thinking I was still annoyed at them and Rose being confused at what happened before she came down. I wasn't actually annoyed with them anymore, but maybe it would remind them to stop being weird.
I had just got off the phone when Sofia came back. She stopped in front of me, eyebrow raised, "Rose said the team was acting weirder then normal at dinner. Almost like they had been told off. You wouldn't have anything to do with that would you?"
"You and Rose talked?"
"We did. Now stop trying to change the subject."
"I don't know what you're talking about."
Sofia eyed me skeptically, "Whatever you did, thank you. After you left, things were pretty much normal again, they actually talked to us both normally. Rose and I walked back up here together. It wasn't as awkward as I expected. Maybe because we talked about you the whole time."
"Me? Good things I hope."
"Of course. You're a great friend Y/n, we were talking about how amazing you've been to us both and how much we appreciate you."
I wasn't exactly expecting that answer. My cheeks heated up as I avoided her eyes. Compliments always made me awkward. When I did nice things for people, I didn't do it for recognition or praise. It was my way of showing I cared. "It's nothing."
"I'm serious Y/n. You didn't have to get me flowers, try to cheer me up, look out for me or make sure I was okay. I would have understood if you avoided talking to me altogether, but you didn't so thank you. I really do appreciate everything you've done for me."
"It would have been completely different if you had done something to hurt Rose, but you didn't. You're a good friend Sof, I wouldn't change anything. I'm glad you and Rose are talking again even if it's only a short conversation."
---
It had been a few months since Rose and Sofia had broken up. They were back to being close friends and Rose had started seeing a girl she met a month or so ago. Sofia and I had kept in contact once camp ended. Even if we weren't around each other, I wanted to make sure she was okay. We went from texting every couple of days to texting or calling pretty much all day everyday. We had grown close the more we learnt about each other. Talking with her was slowly becoming the best part of my day. I had felt guilty about it at first, but Rose had reassured me multiple times that she was okay with it. She was happy Sofia had someone looking out for her.
Sofia seemed a lot happier, although to my knowledge, she hadn't started dating again yet. I admit, I was quite pleased about it. Without meaning to, I had started to develop feelings for her. It was something I would never act on, not with her being Roses ex-girlfriend. I knew they were back to how they were before they started dating, but that was still a line I couldn't cross.
Sofia and I had been roomed together this camp. I was conflicted on how to feel. I was happy to be rooming with her, but I was also slightly dreading it. Since I realised my feelings for Sofia, we hadn't been together in person so I didn't know how I would react or how well I would be able to hide my feelings. I also felt guilty about my feelings for her. If she found out, I didn't want her to think that I was looking out for her, just because I was trying to get with her and I didn't want Rose to think I was just trying to get with her ex.
I knew I had been acting weird. I tried to stop it, but my mind didn't seem to want to listen. Sofia made me nervous and it showed to anyone actually paying attention. I was also nervous to be around Rose because of the guilt I felt. They had both asked me a few times if I was okay, I brushed it off as being tired. They didn't believe it, but had let me off the hook. Sofia and I were constantly together. Where ever I was she was and vice versa. I couldn't get enough of being around her especially with how happy she was. I loved hearing her laugh or talk about random things. I thought I was doing a good job at hiding my feelings, apparently I was wrong.
Rose pulled me aside one day after practice and my nerves went haywire. There was something about her demeanor that told me it was serious, "Hey, um can we talk?"
"Always."
"You and Sofia, is there something going on?"
"We're friends, why do you ask?"
"You two just seem pretty close lately."
Rose and I had known each other long enough for me to know she knew about my feelings. She also knew how to get me to confess to it. All she had to do was allude to knowing without actually saying it and I would break. I cleared my throat, playing with the necklace that hung around my neck. She had already won, I knew I would spill everything, but I wanted to put it off for a little bit longer, "We are close. I would never do anything with her Rose, I would hope you know that."
"I know you won't and I appreciate that, but that's not what I want. Sofia deserves someone who will make her happy, who will treat her the way she deserves. You can do that for her so do it. Seriously, I know what you're thinking, but I want her to be happy."
"I never wanted to develop feelings for her, it was never my intention to do that to you."
Rose hugged me quickly, "I know. Look, you like her Y/n. Make a move. You like her, she likes you. It's a no brainer."
"You would really be okay with that? I don't think she does like me back."
"Yes I would, she's happy around you. That's all I care about. I know what Sofia is like when she has feelings for someone. The looks she gives, the little touches, she laughs at all of your jokes even if they suck-"
I hit her shoulder gently, "Hey!"
"She lights up when she sees you Y/n. Just trust me on this one."
"I don't want her to think the only reason I've been there for her, is so I could get with her. I would rather keep her as a friend."
"She won't, she knows you, she trusts you. Please Y/n, don't let me stop you, don't let the fear stop you."
---
For the last two days I had been trying to work up the nerve to ask Sofia out. I had tried to focus on what Rose had said about her liking me back. There had been multiple times where I had the words on the tip of my tongue, but I couldn't get them out. I didn't want to lose her, but everything in me wanted to take the leap and just tell her. Rose had seemed adamant that Sofia felt the same and I trusted Rose more than anyone.
We were lying on my bed watching some crapping show about dating when I saw the opportunity to slowly approach the topic. "Have you thought about getting back into dating?"
Sofia glanced over at me, eyes sparkling with something I couldn't quite decipher. Part of me wanted to say it was excitement, but it could have been anticipation. I looked back at the tv quickly before I stared at her too long, "I have, but haven't gotten past that."
"That's fair, everyone has different timelines of when they're ready."
"It's not that I'm not ready, because I am. I just think I might go with the flow, see what happens."
I took a while to respond, trying to gather the courage to finally ask her out. My mind was telling me not to, but my heart was telling me to do it. Before I could back out, I closed my eyes and just did it. Well attempted to anyway, it didn't necessarily come out how I planned,  "W-w-what if that flow happened to end at m-me?"
Sofia sat up next to me, confusion covering her face, "Y-you, uh are you? What?"
I couldn't meet her eyes as I sat up next to her, cheeks heating up, "I-I'm trying to uh ask you out. It's not really working that well, but uh yeah."
Sofia giggled. A sound that made my heart race and stomach flutter. Her hand softly took mine, stopping it from picking at the blankets, "You're cute when you're nervous. I would love to go out with you Y/n."
My head shot up, making her giggle again, "Yeah?"
"Definitely. I've been hinting at liking you for a few weeks now, but I've been too scared to actually do anything about it. I wasn't sure what you would say given I'm your bestfriends ex."
I giggled as pure relief and joy washed over me, the nerves washing away and being replaced by excitement, "I admit I was never going to act on the feelings I have for you, for that reason, but Rose figured it out. She told me that she wanted me to ask you out. She was adamant that you liked me back."
"I love that girl. I'm very glad she figured it out and convinced you to do it. You make it very hard not to like you."
Some people might have felt jealous about someone talking about their ex like that, but I knew there were no romantic feelings left between them so it didn't bother me, "That's why she's my bestfriend. I didn't do what I did for you to get you to like me. I hope you know that."
She smiled softly, pulling me closer and cuddling into my side, "I know you didn't. You were just being your amazing self."

Stolen Moments
Sofia Huerta x Reader
Word Count: 904
The environment at Wembley is wild. The last time you stepped foot in here, you watched as some of your best friends brought home the trophy. You’ve been playing at Arsenal for the past five years, and while it’s been a good five years, you can’t help but still miss your life back in the state.
And that may be largely in part due to the woman currently warming up on the field.
“Stop drooling.”
“I’m not!”
Leah reaches for your face, swiping at the corner of your lips. She pretends to look down at her fingers. “Pretty sure that’s drool.”
You shove her back, Leah shooting out a complaint as she tries to find balance.
“Hey! You can’t attack someone on crutches!”
You roll your eyes, quickly turning your gaze back towards the field. Although you refuted Leah’s claim, you can’t deny that Sofia looks good. It’s been a while since the two of you were last in the same place for this long.
After spending the first couple years post college playing in the NWSL, when you got the offer to play at Arsenal, you couldn’t help but take it. Sofia was understandably upset that you were going to be on the other side of the world, but she made sure to drive you to the airport from your shared apartment in Chicago. You parted ways with a sweet kiss and a promise to return home some day.
‘Some day’ still hasn’t arrived yet, but the two of you make sure to spend every break bouncing back and forth between wherever the defender is playing and your place in London. And while the two of you were silently hoping for another chance to share the field together, the two of you are happy where you are with the teams you’re playing with.
Finally dragging your eyes away from the field, you poke Leah’s shoulder. “Hey, cappy.”
She sighs, giving you a wary look. “What do you want?”
You smirk, internally gleeful at annoying your Arsenal teammate. “Are you ready to see your team eat dust?”
“Spoken like a true American. Can’t wait for you to eat your words.”
Before you have a chance to defend yourself, the English captain’s shushing you, pointing to where the teams are lining up for the national anthems.
When the whistle sounds, you and Leah grin at each other. Game on.
---
Leah makes sure to rub the win in your face.
You scowl, vehemently defending the 2-2 scoreline, but she simply laughs in response.
The two of you slowly make your way to the field, bickering all the way down. Although you are eager to see your girlfriend, you slow your pace to match Leah’s. She was already annoyed at needing crutches and you didn't want to further aggravate her by leaving her behind.
It doesn’t take you too long to locate Sofia. After saying a quick hello to some of your friends, you cut through the field towards the defender.
Although she looks tired, her entire body lights up at the sight of you.
“Hey babe.”
Sofia reaches her hands out for you and buries her face in your neck. Your arms instinctively wrap themselves around her waist.
“I missed you.”
You chuckle, tightening your arms. “I just saw you yesterday.”
After her last regular season game, Sofia caught the first flight out to London. You’ve spent nearly every day since trying to squeeze time for each other between your practices.
“Still missed you anyways.”
You press a light kiss against her forehead, relishing in the feel of having your lover in your arms again.
Sometimes long distance is a hard thing to do. The eight hour time difference made it hard to be on top of things, but you loved the girl in your arms with all your heart and were willing to do whatever it takes.
“You looked great out there today.”
The brunette grunts in disagreement, tightening her arms around your neck. “You’re only saying that because you’re dating me.”
“I’m saying that and I’m dating you. They don’t have to be mutually exclusive.”
Sofia turns her face so she can eye you. You grin at her. “There she is. I was wondering if I was going to have a whole conversation with the top of your head.”
Rolling her eyes, Sofia leans back far enough so she can press a light kiss to your lips, making sure to keep her arms around you the entire time.
“Hi.”
“Hi back,” you parrot, a goofy look overtaking your face. Sofia always managed to make you a happier version of yourself.
“I know I’ve said this before but damn, that connection you and Rose have on the field? Amazing. I wish I could be a part of that.”
“You just have to come home to play with us then, I guess.” She wiggles her eyebrows at you as she tries to get you to break.
“You might have to fight Jonas to get him to let me go.”
Without missing a beat, she fires back. “Sure, where’s he at?”
“Sofia,” you chuckle.
The two of you unwrap yourselves from each other but make sure to keep your hands intertwined.
“Soon,” you promise. “I’ll be home soon.”
Someday you’ll be back in the states. Someday you’ll finally be able to be together.
But for now, these stolen moments taken between games would have to do.

Hate? More like love (Sofia Huerta x Reader)
This was requested a little while ago, sorry it's a little short, but I hope you like it :)
Request: It's the anon that said would love more Sofia fics yeah I do have an idea maybe reader and Sofia have never got along maybe something like enemies to lovers.
Warnings: Short smut scene, Minors DNI, 18+
Words: 1.4K
I groaned when my name followed Sofia's. For as long as I could remember, we never got along. I had kissed her now ex-girlfriend. It wasn't even really my fault either, I had asked the girl if she was seeing anyone, she denied it so I kissed her. That was until Sofia had come into the room, freaking out. I had tried explaining what had happened, but she hadn't listened. Ever since the only interaction we had off the field were snarky comments, eye rolls and looks of disgust. It was one sided at first, but soon I got annoyed with her so joined in.
"Stay out of my way and we won't have a problem."
I rolled my eyes and put my headphones on, not giving her the satisfaction of a reply. Everyone knew we didn't get along, so I didn't understand why we would be roomed together. Maybe it was another one of their attempts to get us to finally get along.
I had only woken up a couple of minutes ago and Sofia was already going on about something. This was not what I had patience for this morning. I had slept like shit, I was irritable and I just wanted a quiet morning. Of course that wasn't going to happen when Sofia was around.
"Please Sofia, not now," I attempted with no success. She just rolled her eyes and kept going.
No one ever said it was smart to kiss the person who hated you. Yet here I was, lips pressed hard against Sofia's as her back hit the door. She was just so infuriating, the snarky comments, the looks she would send me. I had just wanted her to shut up. To my surprise, she didn't pull away or push me away with shouting. Instead, she pulled me closer, hand burying in my hair, pulling ever so slightly as my tongue forced its way into her mouth.
I practically threw her on the bed, attacking her neck as she pulled my clothes off, her own quickly following. There was no doubt that Sofia was attractive, I may even have a small crush on her. She was a bitch to me, but I couldn't help it.
I took my time working her up, until I could see her wetness coating her thighs and she was squirming, "For someone who hates me, you sure are desperate for my fingers."
"Just shut up and fuck me."
I teased her entrance, earning a small whimper, "Try again princess, maybe ask nicely this time."
"Please, I need you. Fuck me please."
Sofia gasped as I thrust into her, fingers moving slowly, "Like this?"
She let out an impatient huff, moving her hips to try and get me to move faster, "No."
"I need you to tell me how you want it."
"Hard, fast, rough, just fuck me Y/n."
I sped up, thrusting into her as hard and fast as I could. I didn't want to hurt Sofia so I kept my eyes on her face, looking for any discomfort, but all I saw was her head thrown back, moans spilling out of her mouth. I grabbed her chin, pulling her to look at me. "Look at me while I fuck you."
Sofia dug her nails into my arm, no doubt leaving small bruises, eyes never leaving mine as she got closer and closer to her high. Nails dug impossibly harder in my arm as Sofia moaned out my name, body tensing and spasming as she came hard. I slowed down just enough to get her through before speeding up again. It didn't take long for her to fall over the edge again.
Her breathing settled after a few minutes and I was flipped over. Lips attaching to my neck as her hands hit all the right places. She was fucking amazing. The way she worked me up, teasing me just the right amount before making me come with a muffled moan of her name.
Once we had both recovered we got dressed silently, Sofia leaving the room without a word. I sat on the end of the bed, head in my hands wondering what the fuck I had just done. Things were already bad between us, but there was no chance of us having any sort of relationship now.
The next couple of days were weird, instead of starting fights or making comments, Sofia avoided me like the plague. It was obvious the team noticed something had changed, but they didn't say anything. The only person who knew what happened was Ashlyn, she was my bestfriend and the person I would rant to when I got overly annoyed with Sofia.
What I didn't expect was to be asked to get something out of the store room, only to have the door shut and locked behind me. Once I gave up banging on the door, I finally noticed Sofia standing in the corner, arms crossed and staring at me.
"Great."
"I don't want to be here anymore then you."
"You had to go opening your mouth to Ash didn't you? This wouldn't have happened if you hadn't."
"Well I'm sorry okay? I'm sorry for needing someone to talk to every now and then about you hating me for no reason, about you sleeping with me then ignoring me. I'm only fucking human." My back hit the wall as I let myself slide down it, hands covering my face in an attempt to calm down. I was tired of the fighting. She didn't have to like me, I just wanted it to stop.
"You kissed my girlfriend!"
"I didn't know! I asked her, she denied it. Did you expect me to do a background check or something? I'm sorry Sofia, I really am."
Sofia sighed, sitting down next to me on the floor, "I forgave you a long time ago Y/n. I just didn't know how to change things. I hate that I don't actually hate you. I hate that you're all I think about."
"You think about me?"
She buried her face in her hands, "Maybe."
"Hey, look at me. Honestly, you're are all I think about as well."
"How do we go from hating each other to liking each other?"
I shrugged, knocking her shoulder with mine, "I don't know, start with being nice to each other. Maybe sleep with each other more," I said jokingly, making her laugh quietly, "It'll be an adjustment, but maybe it's worth it."
"I admit, I can't stop thinking about that either. I think you're right, I want to try this if you do."
I cupped her cheek, connecting our lips. It was slow and soft, completely different from the first time we had kissed, "I wou-"
The door flung open suddenly making us fly apart, Ashlyn and Kelley were standing in front of us, "Oh shit, this isn't exactly what we had in mind when we locked you in here."
Sofia got up and rushed out while I stood there awkwardly, "Uh yeah, is it time to go?"
I didn't even get the chance to tell her that I did want this because she was on the bus and avoiding me for the rest of the day. I had decided to give her space and talk to her when she came back to the room, but she hadn't done that yet either.  When it reached 11:30pm, I got annoyed and just texted her my answer.
Since you are ignoring me, I thought I'd answer by text and let you decide what happens next. I want to try this, I want to be with you. The ball is in your court now.
I left it at that and slipped under the blankets ready to go to sleep. It was about 10 minutes later when I heard the door open. I was on the verge of sleep and didn't move or say anything. My blankets were lifted up and someone pressed against me from behind. Sofia didn't say anything until I moved slightly to let her know I was awake, "I'm sorry Y/n, for ignoring you. I got scared, I thought you didn't want this. I thought maybe you had changed your mind because of how I treated you. I want to do this."
I turned around, lifting my head slightly to kiss her. "It's okay, let's not do that ignoring thing again though."
"Yes ma'am. Go to sleep hun, we have a date tomorrow."
"Oh really? When did I agree to that?"
"Um I-I th-thoug-"
A laugh escaped me despite trying to act serious, "I'm messing with you, I would love to go on a date with you."
Sofia scoffed, trying to push me away, but I just held her tighter, "You are an asshole."
"Yeah well I'm your asshole now."
