It was just him, the stars, and the first guardian that haunted his waking hours with visions of meteors. Visions that never left even when he finally achieved his dream. Convinced that there was nothing he could do, no safe place to lead the empire's conquest, he guided the empire's fleets to riskier and riskier places. Dead trolls wouldn't have to endure the end with him.
