At long last... a starter for @bcrnt-petcls

Yellow eyes as wide as two moons stared curiously at Mara. The boy's grey scales were raised oh-so slightly, nervously -- he had never been so close to a fire monster -- what if she burns him?! Compared to the child's stout frame, Mara is as tall as a bean stalk. But instead of curled leaves at the tippy-top of the sky, it's a lick of purple flame that earned his fascination.

Not so distant was his sister, standing there with arms folded and a big ol' toothy grin plastered on her face. Just a moment ago, they could be seen signing at each other frantically as soon as the boy laid eyes on Fire Lady.

"Go ahead and talk to her," she signed.

"But what if she doesn't understand…?"

"Use your tablet and write her a message then, dummy! Why d'you think Dad got that thing for you?" Her signing was brisk, intending to hype up her brother. "Where's your SPIRIT?? Your sense of ADVENTURE???"

Then, when it was obvious his sister wanted him to brave the possibly-not-signing adult interaction on his own, he puffed up his chest and approached Mara.

What to say to the stranger who looked so awesome and cool (no pun intended)?: a stiff little wave and an dolphin-like squeal was all he could muster.

Gerson, formerly known as the Hammer of Justice:

A good-natured elderly monster who’s a veteran of the War of Humans and Monsters, former Captain of the Royal Guard, and Undyne’s childhood idol. He took the spunky young fish monster’s attempts at ‘helping’ him beat up bad guys with humor. In the main verse, he’s more of a kooky uncle to Undyne than a mentor who’s not afraid to put her in check if her antics go too far.

King Asgore Dreemurr, King of All Monsters:

Asgore silently suffers from depression by the loss of his two children, the deadly choice he made that lead to the dissolution of his marriage, and the blood on his hands from murdering humans for their SOULs. But as a young girl, Undyne was swept up by the glorious image of the Monster King becoming a god and freeing his people from their underground prison. After Asgore accepted Undyne as his trainee, he became impressed by the young monster’s strength and persistence. His relationship developed into something of a father figure to the orphaned fish.

In the main verse, Asgore becomes concerned with the increasingly irrational choices Undyne makes. She defies his attempts to help her, thinking it was an affront to her abilities and a sign of his lack of confidence in her. Since then, Undyne alternates between living in Waterfall and Asgore’s castle.

Both Undyne’s biological parents survive in this AU. They moved to Hometown recently, due to Pop’s job location change.

“Pops” (below) is a police officer. He’s spirited, aggressively helpful, and can be seen driving around town in what his daughter calls “the most badass motorcycle EVER!!!” Undyne wants to follow his footsteps in her future career.

Fun fact: that isn’t hair on his head. It’s a flat red fin that flares out when he’s underwater.

“Dad” (above) is an owner of a start-up local hardware store. The most mild-mannered of the family and foil to his husband’s energy... until you bring up his life’s biggest passion: DIY projects and repairs! He prides himself for making all the furniture in his family’s new home.

Fun fact: He befriends Asgore as a fellow business owner.

Drulah is Undyne’s kid brother. Being born deaf, he has limited speaking abilities and instead uses sign language to express himself. He attends Ms. Toriel’s class with extra assistance. Much to his big sister’s chagrin, he throws a tantrum whenever he feels like he’s being misunderstood or ignored.

This Undyne is a total square. Still excitable, still passionate, but with more ‘narc’ in the mix. Being a transfer student at Hometown’s school, she’s somewhat of an outsider compared to the rest of the students in her class. It’s not a big concern to her, as she keeps herself busy participating in as many sports clubs as possible and keeping an eye on her younger brother. She even takes up babysitting gigs on the side. This fishy has aspirations of getting into law enforcement, just like her Pops.

She’s my main Deltarune verse. If any Deltarune canon characters/OCs interact with Undyne without specifying a verse or AU, I’ll use her.

She’s my only fish with a last name. It’s “Fischer.” Because har-dee har har.

Unlike her Undertale counterpart, both of Undyne’s biological parents survive and are present in her life. She refers to them as “Dad” and “Pops.”

Her little brother, Drulah, is deaf and communicates through sign language. He attends Ms. Toriel’s class. You can read more about Undyne’s immediate family here.

Undyne’s opinion on humans is generally neutral. Thanks to history lessons about the Humans vs. Monsters War, she knows they can harbor intense hatred towards monsters. But since meeting Kris – her sole human friend – they seem... okay. That means humans can’t all be bad... right??

She eventually becomes hall monitor captain, in which her narc (”narciness”?) fully shines. ><

She is best buddies with Jockington. Naturally.

She’s the only AU who has been to the Dark World, but only in the genocide version of the world. You can see DarkWorld!Undyne’s design here.

No, Undyne cannot summon spears in any of her Deltarune verses. Her only form of (Light World) magic is shadow-melding.
