At long last... a starter for @bcrnt-petcls

Yellow eyes as wide as two moons stared curiously at Mara. The boy's grey scales were raised oh-so slightly, nervously -- he had never been so close to a fire monster -- what if she burns him?! Compared to the child's stout frame, Mara is as tall as a bean stalk. But instead of curled leaves at the tippy-top of the sky, it's a lick of purple flame that earned his fascination.

Not so distant was his sister, standing there with arms folded and a big ol' toothy grin plastered on her face. Just a moment ago, they could be seen signing at each other frantically as soon as the boy laid eyes on Fire Lady.

"Go ahead and talk to her," she signed.

"But what if she doesn't understand…?"

"Use your tablet and write her a message then, dummy! Why d'you think Dad got that thing for you?" Her signing was brisk, intending to hype up her brother. "Where's your SPIRIT?? Your sense of ADVENTURE???"

Then, when it was obvious his sister wanted him to brave the possibly-not-signing adult interaction on his own, he puffed up his chest and approached Mara.

What to say to the stranger who looked so awesome and cool (no pun intended)?: a stiff little wave and an dolphin-like squeal was all he could muster.

"Whoever fixed this deep frier for you before did a shiiiiiit job! It's a good thing you guys called me here when you did. One batch of fries later and this thing would have exploded." Honestly this shitty and shotty craftsmen at play here was making Streber feel more angry then anything! Honestly who would leave a deep frier at a family diner like this? A lazy jackass that's who! Streber didn't expect to get a call for a repair job from the next town over, but he didn't mind. Having a new project was always exciting! It's a good thing the owner called too, beacuse this thing was a fire hazard and a half. Streber put down the tool box he had in his one arm next to him and began getting to work!

Starter for @bcrnt-petcls

Petey takes a step back to appreciate his work. The snowman isn't perfect. It doesn't have a carrot nose, but you can still tell what it's supposed to be. He tilts his head to the side, staring hard. Something isn't right... Petey trots over and adjusts one of its stick arms so it's not totally lopsided. There. Now it's Really Done.

It suddenly occurs to Petey that his hands are cold. Actually, his face too. It feels like little needles on his skin, and it's uncomfortable enough for him to no longer ignore and now he has Noticed It. His tough gloves, wet from touching snow, just make the stinging pain all the more worse. Petey peels off the gloves and stares at his now redish hands, flexing his fingers but with little success due to the cold. Huh. That's not good.

He isn't in any danger of freezing to death, at least not right now. He certainly would if left on his own, but for now he is fine. The boy stuffs his hands in his hoodie pocket to try and warm them up. He is no longer having fun. Now he's just cold.

He would complain that he's not grumpy, but that would just prove her point. Clever girl...

Feeling her put the little hat on his head, he smiled a little ruefully, sure he looked ridiculous. Ah well. He needed to loosen up and live sometimes, didn't he? [Tough call. Cake, I suppose,] he signed, kissing her back.

hurt/comfort statements that hit me right in the feels.

For a moment, there's nothing but an exhale; Gaster staring off at nothing; a light wind tickling his face.

He could go poetic; talk about how the ephemerality is what made life special, but...it didn't feel quite appropriate.

"It's alright to feel that way, you know."

And it's an unfortunately common feeling among monsters, given that their lifespans varied so drastically. Just how many friends did an extraordinarily long-lived and outgoing monster like Asgore outlive?

"Loss is...hard. It's one of the hardest things in the world. Grief, despair, fury... it's natural. We love, and we give parts of ourselves to see others grow, and we invest our time, our heart, our lives, and losing that is ...

"It can be unbearable at times. Remarkable, even; just how consuming the grief is, how it drowns out everything else, how in those moments, you forget everything but that agony, how unfair the world is.

"But that pain...it's because you cared. It's because in an unfair, lawless world, you chose to care, you chose to leave a mark on another person's life, and that's special.

"In the endless downpour of despair, it's important to remember that there's good, too. And that's worth it.

"It's worth it."

‘Dancing is how monsters bond, Dance is weaved into every aspect of our life, Puzzles, Battle, It is a inherit part of every monster and the underground itself has an aura that gifts anyone who comes in with the ability to dance, The fallen children all have their own style despite only one of them knowing dance before falling down.. We all have different styles, sometimes multiple, Everyone monster has one. Even if they do not realize it. Mine is fire dancing but i do occasionally have hints of latin however.’

For Fye’s credit, His outfit wasn’t a lot different then the regular, maybe a little more loose to make it easier to move around in, If anything. The bar was changed up more then he was, It was larger and more open with the tables off to the sides along the windows. A large empty space in the middle was clearly meant to be a dance floor.

‘Sometimes i do dance for the customers or with them if they ask, Gaster visits often to do so, he waltz’s. Sans used to dance here a lot to, But he got hurt, Makes dancing hard because it’s hurts. He still comes in though, His style was hip hop.’

At least he seemed to want to explain though...it was odd, He had mentioned the fallen children as if they weren’t...dead?

Gaster was winded by the time Mara helped him sit on the edge of the tub, but he was steady and remarkably not dizzy.

“I think I can manage that much by myself...” He said, still panting slightly as he plugged the tub and set it to fill. “If you could pull out some towels for me, I’d appreciate it.”

He moved to brace himself on the bars Asgore had installed for him so Mara could let go and get his things.

“It’ll take me about a half hour...” He said, trying to think what their usual routine was, “And, uh, I don’t know what Asgore usually does while I’m... doing this.”

Sometimes Asgore helped him or sat and talked with him at least but he wasn’t about to tell Mara about that. 

Gaster carefully added soap to the tub, feeling tired but not so much so that he would fall asleep in the water. “Oh and I... need something to wear.” He said, blushing purple. “Um, anything is fine. I’m not going out today, though so... something comfortable would be nice.”
