Shared stuff on Discord based on what I think some of the Stex cast would order at a coffee place-

-GB is the kind of guy to order a red eye (hot or iced depending on weather) and then complain mildly it doesn’t taste that great (except if Dinah adds a pinch of milk)

-Espresso just drinks straight up espresso. Gets a full eight ounce cup of espresso and barely feels energized. He considers it a normal breakfast drink.

-Coco likes flat whites and gets offended how they come in more than one size in America.

-CB (all cabeese actually) always orders something sweet with espresso shots. Tips very politely.

StEx in real life Part 3: Coaches 2

Still a few coaches left to discuss

Duvay: GWR sleeping car

The chocolate and cream livery fits her design very nicely. My headcanon is Duvay was brought in to replace the retired Memphis Belle at the first class car on the sleeper train, so this coach fits.

Opal/2018 Pearl: Closed dome observation car

So even after her redesign, Pearl is still a 1st class car but the "observation" aspect of her classification is left more ambiguous. However, her kokoshnik headpiece reminds me of a dome.

Tassita: Amtrak quiet car

Belle: Amtrak sleeping car

Whilst several railway companies have quiet cars, Amtrak's is probably one of the more well-known.

2nd and 3rd Class Sleepers/Vera and Lina: LMS sleeping cars

Given that she and Tassita are quite close, I imagine they came from the same original company, making Belle an Amtrak sleeper.

These two are simply based on vibes. LMS is one of the Big Four, big part of British railway culture, having the sleepers exclusive to the London show fits that. Although I do think these two have been modified to couchettes, allowing for daytime use as chair cars.

Edit: I did mean Nebraska idk why I said Kansas

I always headcanoned that he was either born in the south (Tennessee or Kentucky) then moved to California(cuz he seems like a Cali boi) or he was born in California then moved to the south

Headcanons on how StEx characters would react if you give them an energy drink:

Pearl: pretends to not like drinking that kind of stuff but actually enjoys it

Greaseball: pretends to handle the caffeine quite well but throws up when no one is looking

Rusty: he'd either be hyper af (like a kid that ate too much sugar) and a bit sassier or cries his eyes out

Poppa/mama: starts using caffeine to compensate everyday life (just like most adults)

Flattop: he's almost caffeine resistant and even feels sleepy

Caboose (CB and AV): gets hyperactive af and goes feral (there might also be the risk of him stabbing someone with random pointy objects)

Canoose (BV): gets super confident first but has a mental breakdown as soon as the caffeine is broken down by the body

Dustin: takes one sip, finds it disgusting and touches that can never again

The rockies: battle eachother who can drink the most cans

Electra: zaps uncontrollably

Elektra: claims that he can handle that bit of caffeine but shuts down after half a can

Components: are too worried about Elektras condition to feel any difference

Dinah: giggles constantly

Belle (sleeping car): feels more youthful than everyone else

Ashley: she'd probably be very chatty and uses the can as an ashtray

Trax: feel happy and serene for once in their life

Control: gives his parents a hard time

Any Pearl headcanons?

Pearlie!!! My girl! (Going off the assumption you're looking for pre-update Pearl hcs)

She's a smart girl but got underestimated so much growing up and she hated it. Was the youngest passenger car in her yard which meant that the other trains, young or old, always assumed they knew more than her.

Tripped so much on her wheels as a kid, she's a bit of a tall coach and has always had pretty lengthy legs, it took her a bit of time to get used to it.

Big big curly hair!! I'm such a fan of the few pre-update Pearl wigs that were both pink and extremely curly/fluffy they were so good, it suits her incredibly well.

Very sure of herself, but also a bit indecisive when it comes to big decisions. Anytime she's faced with a major choice she struggles to pick, not because she's finicky or doesn't know what she wants, but because there's just too many choices most of the time and all of them could work out right, how does anyone expect her to choose!

Didn't grow up around any other canon trains actually. She only met Buffy, Dinah, and Ashley when she was a teenager and didn't properly become acquainted with Rusty until she was a young adult. So she actually doesn't know the others as well as most do because she just. Never ran into them.

Like how I hc all other trains with unnatural hair colors: Pearl's hair has been pink from the day she was born, she doesn't need to dye it.

Loves to sing in her free time, whether she's doing chores or just out walking, she's usually singing or humming a tune. She has a very wonderful singing voice as well.

She knows how to sew! Her grandma taught her and it's been a hobby that she's kept up with since. She actually sewed her own skirt!

Incredibly physically affectionate, something she looks for in romantic partners is someone who isn't afraid to hug and cuddle quite a bit, in all honesty she's a little touch starved. One of the biggest reasons she was drawn to racing with Greaseball was that she knew he was also pretty big on physical affection and figured that it wouldn't hurt to see if there was something there.

Pearl had turned Rusty away the first few times because while she did feel something with him and thought his determination was very sweet, she felt like accepting to go with him was too sudden even with her preference in steam trains, she wanted to at least try to talk to some other trains if she was going to walk away from this race holding hands with someone. How will she know if Rusty is the one if she doesn't talk to other people and see if they have anything to offer? She also wanted to make sure that any relationship she got into was by her choice.

Even though she's a wonderful singer, she's a less than graceful dancer. She relies heavily on any dance partners she might have to assist her somewhat because her solo moves aren't the greatest.

Sure!

All of this is my interpretation and ideas, so it will deviate from canon probably.

She's a natural brunette, but bleaches her hair blonde. She also manually curls her hair every night.

Her relationship with GB was terrible for both, they just weren't meant to be. Obviously his abuse and cheating was the worst part of it, and I'm not saying any of it was her fault, but her insistence to stay with him was another factor in their bad relationship. They were pushed together as kids (Because ofc, the hottest diesel and the hottest coach had to be together), and didn't really know a life when they weren't dating in some way, so it was unhealthy as heck. Yeah, she didn't take him back in the end.

She actually gets with Hashimoto in the end, they're very happy together.

She's a (very) male-leaning bisexual lady.

One of few trains to have actually been born in Apollo Victoria, her southern twang comes from her parent's accent (They were very insistent on not losing their roots, so they forced their accent to stay).

Volta was kind of an outcast on her old railway before meeting Electra. She was a freight truck who did makeup, which made her peers look down on her 

Joule was part of a circus train when she was an animal truck. She converted because she felt like she needed a change

Ashley tried vaping once, she didn’t really like it

For a long time, Rusty kept his head down to avoid trouble from Greaseball and his gang, the race was the first time he majorly stood up for himself

Carrie loves handbags and doesn’t use the same one twice

Brandi is related to Belle, with Belle being her aunt

Greaseball has a liking for oldies music, especially Elvis and Frank Sinatra

BV basically raised CB , their parents were less than ideal

Rusty likes to star gaze, he’s done it since he was little

My headcanons for StEx characters' ages. (You know... if they were human.)

(I already posted this over a year ago, but it was in a reblog, so I figured I'd post it as it's own original post. I'm just copying & pasting everything I wrote before.)

Okay, so for me, (original) StEx takes place on March 27th, 1984.

Dinah: 23. Dinah really gives me that “Youngest of the coaches" vibe, and knowing that Frances Ruffelle and Jane Krakowski were both 18 when StEx debuted in London and on Broadway (respectively) and Natalie Howard was 21 when StEx debuted in Bochum definitely adds to that vibe for me. (To me, she’s a Pisces, and would’ve very recently had her 23rd birthday.)

Greaseball: 32 or 30, but he’s almost 33 or 31 because I headcanon him as an Aries. I was feeling that Greaseball is a bit older than Dinah, but once I learned that Elvis & Priscilla have a 10-year age gap, I was like, “Yeah, that tracks.” (No pun intended.) But then I thought (literally while writing this), "Hmm, does G.B. seem almost 33?" Even with Jeff having been 36 when StEx debuted, Greaseball gives me more of a 29-31 vibe? Idk for sure now! 🤷🏽‍♀️ My headcanon is that he & Dinah have been together for almost 2 years.

Rusty: 24 or 25. I’m not entirely solid on his age yet.

Pearl: 26. I know people usually see Pearl as quite young, but I'm feeling 26 exactly from, like, every version I've seen of her.

C.B.: 25. Or 26.

Ashley: 30. I read that Ash is like “the big sister” of the girls, while I feel like Dinah is the little sister.

Buffy: 28.

Electra: 29-31.

Volta: 29.

Joule: 24 or 25. She has that younger energy; I don’t mean physical energy, I mean in her personality.

Poppa: 65-70.

Belle: 53-57.

The Rockies: 24.

Dustin: 23 or 24.

Flat-Top: 20. He definitely has the vibe of being the youngest, and I’ve read him described as quite young.

2nd & 3rd Class Sleepers: 26-27.

Duvay: 27. (I’ve gotten the headcanon that she is Ash’s younger sister, which is why I am including her.)

I don’t care about the new Belle or Carrie or Killerwatt. I haven’t thought about the ages for Krupp, Wrench, or Purse; I honestly... don’t pay much attention to those 3. 😬 👀

Now while I do whole heartedly love GreaseDinah and I would die for them! Heres what I think abt some other possiblities for ships with GB

It seems sorta cute tbh and I feel like they could have dated a bit when they were younger while Greaseball was still on his way to being champion. When I first heard abt StEx I had actually shipped them before seeing the light that is GreaseDinah I just read the plot and watched a bootleg lol. I think that they would have gotten along pretty well then may have started to lose more romantic feelings for each other. I also see Ashely as always being more mature then the other around her and she may have gotten tired of Greaseball not being as mature as her. Now I think they would be close friends and he was probably the first person that she came out to (”You’re a lesbian? I thought you were American?” type thing) and she was probably the first person who he told about Dinah. She probably helped him to ask her out, since she is friends with both of them. They are close friends like Dinah and CB.

This one I don’t think was ever any real anything. I feel like for after Pearl Twirl they may have kissed or something but then felt guilty about betraying Dinah so they just stopped. I mean Dinah and Pearl are supposed to be best friends and (according to the more recent versions) Greaseball and Dinah were barely broken up, seemed more like they were on a short break if anything. They both probably knew it was wrong and when Greaseball had uncoupled Pearl it could have been a way of trying to make things “better”, like he didn’t want to be seen with her anymore(also cuz he needed Caboose on his side too but we’re not talking abt that rn) and uncoupled Pearl not thinking about the consequences of his actions(again). Pearl may have gone along with Greaseball because as she said she was “going to try them all until she found the best” and just decided to try Greaseball too, not thinking how Dinah would feel, she may have been the one to tell Greaseball that they shouldn’t be kissing because they do have others that greatly care about them. Pearl and Greaseball try not to bring up what happened, especially near Dinah or Rusty, and feel a bit ashamed for what they did even though both of their relationship at status’ were unclear at the time. I will say that this is quite aesthetically pleasing but I don’t seem much of an actually relationship here ya know. But they do look good standing next to each other. I think that they do become better friends because Pearl and Dinah are best friends(I feel like after Pearl Twirl Dinah downgraded Pearl to close friend lol) and both Dinah and Pearl want Rusty and Greaseball to be on good terms with each other so they end up doing a lot of things together.

Idk if this counts as a crack ship or what but this is something. There is no romance whatsoever, they just think they both are hot. Probably just like a one night stand or something. I mean there had to have been a time where Greaseball was having a few or a bunch😏 of one night stands. I feel like he thinks that he is hot, and he thinks that Joule is hot. Joule thinks she is hot and she thinks that Greaseball is hot. Like come onnnnnnnn! I think they got together when they were younger and when Electra shows up with Joule they are both like “We slept together at some point right?” Now they probably just think that the other is pretty cool but don’t really think of it much other then that.
