Note
i’m about a month late to the ffvii rebirth fanfare but i saw your study/shot comparison for the ending while scrolling through some tags and was really curious to see if you had come up with any more conclusions since then! i just finished it a couple days ago and still reeling from it and have been enjoying hearing people’s thoughts about what the heck they think is going on. obvs cloud is not ok, but i’m still trying to decide just how much of what we’re seeing is due to his sanity going out the window and how much of it (if any) is aerith actually speaking to him and/or sephiroth messing with him. the way he tells the rest of the party to not look up at the sky though and none of them see what he sees, just clues them all in to the fact that he isn’t entirely all there anymore. a collective very concerned side-eye lol. somebody help him pls.
!!! oh friend, you're in a TON of luck: I actually started a few different commentaries on how I saw the ending on this weeks back, but didn't post them because I got distracted by other fandoms? I'm more than happy to share them though—not as developed as they could be, but some congealing of where my mind went upon finishing the game and rewatching the gameplay.
forewarning: FFVII ending spoilers + a long af post lmao
So I wrote this on my twitter (where I go to see things only on twt lol) the other day because of a bunch of concepts were clarified by the Ultimania + translators, which kinda sums up where my thoughts are:
Tumblr media
Which...yeah. As I see it: as of the ending, Aerith is in fact dead in our current world (the one of the player narrative). How I see it, she's died in our primary timeline—though likely "alive" in the same way Zack is in some other timeline, in addition to her connection to every "universe" through the power of her connection to the planet as the last Cetra.
The white whispers (which represent Aerith/the will of the planet) as well as the “confluence of world” colors we see with Sephiroth are all around when Cloud supposedly “sees her alive" during the classic death scene—
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
—an indicator that the event itself was the "confluence" Sephiroth was trying to achieve, with Cloud experiencing several versions of it due to his own connection to Sephiroth/the lifestream/his fragmented mind. We see this both in what Sephiroth says around the event itself....and also the contrasting experiences of our party with what Cloud sees in the moment (+ through end of the game).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As I see it, Cloud’s consciousness by the end of FFVII:R-II is fully fractured; throughout both Remake & Rebirth he is already seeing visions affected by Sephiroth’s influence on the planet (the black whispers, the way hooded men and thin air turn into Sephiroth before his eyes)—and now, during the “confluence of emotions / worlds / reunion” mentioned (Aerith's death), Cloud’s already broken mind is slipping further into seeing “the middle space” of the worlds joined and prepared for destruction by Sephiroth in real time, rather than following the timeline of events in the world we play—a la the post that inspired your ask. :)
All that said: the reason he’s seeing Aerith (not just sensing her the way Red does in his own Lifestream connection) is because she’s a Cetra, and now (in death) the embodiment of the positive! Will of Gaia across worlds—so because of Cloud's connection to that "middle space" / ability to traverse different versions of reality because of his connection to Sephiroth, Cloud is interacting with her presence…despite it not being there for anyone else.
Tumblr media
It’s also why he can see the sky split no one else can.
Tumblr media
ADDITIONALLY:
The Aerith we see fight alongside Cloud in the final battle and the one we see walking around everyone as Cid fixes the plane…that’s the spirit of her person (think the Aerith of Advent Children). Aerith didn’t live this game—her spirit can communicate because of Sephiroth's successful confluence, though she’s ALSO "alive" in the same way Zack and Biggs are to us: aka she died in the world she was in but still exists in others, which Sephiroth confirms/explains both when Aerith pulls Cloud into another “doomed” world—
Tumblr media Tumblr media
when he’s trying to manipulate Cloud in the Lifestream—
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and when you’re fighting Sephiroth alongside Aerith in the void during the final battle (after she’s died).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even so, Aerith “living on” as the last Cetra/the spirit of the planet + someone with access to multiple worlds through the "reunion" means she’s now as able to infiltrate Cloud's ongoing visions as Sephiroth is...and is likely trying to keep him even somewhat present despite his clearly fractured mind.
I think that’s implied repeatedly by through the hollow Holy Materia (implying both Aerith is no longer “there,” but still present + that cloud himself is now hollow)—
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
—and why/how the Black Materia (Sephiroth) is still manipulating him and very much driving his fractured thoughts, visions and actions.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As for the rest of the party: it's because no one but his “vessel-connected-to-Sephiroth” self (+ now dead-but-living-on-in-the-Lifestream Aerith) has any idea what he learned about worlds in the Lifestream that what’s happening to Cloud is lost on everyone (and why they look painfully concerned), and also why spirit!Aerith repeatedly gives him reminders to 1) not listen to Sephiroth and 2) focus on finding himself again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
All that said: because Cloud’s actual self is already slipping away from our present game TL by the second half of the game, it will have to be retrieved and rearranged—which we know will happen in game 3 (assuming you know the original FF7 plot where Tifa rearranges him in the Lifesteam) but that has to be changed from “Cloud finds out about Zack and finally cracks" because Cloud already knows about Zack in some capacity by the middle of Rebirth.
I personally think this sets us up for a really interesting resolution in that Tifa is going to probably have spirit!Aerith’s help putting Cloud back together in the Lifestream in game 3—and that she will likely play a bigger part in helping Cloud “find himself” in his own world again because it’s been made more apparent that she’s a full consciousness in the Lifestream/able to affect multiple worlds now because of Sephiroth completing the first step in his plan. That's more just hopeful on my part going into the next game than something rooted in analysis though.
But yes! those are my thoughts! I hope this gives you (more than a little) something. Feel free to ask if something isn’t clear though lol this was like 4 different half-done drafts combined 😂 Regardless, ty so much for the ask / giving me a reason to post them!

Sorting Through Kingdom Hearts III Part 3 - Valet? He's the Product of Pure Research
Spoiler Warning
Beloved characters throughout the Kingdom Hearts series have seemingly met their end, only until its later revealed that they actually didn't.  But Kingdom Hearts III, as the culmination of the saga so far, presents an obvious problem: how to restore the remaining characters that were either defeated or believed lost.  Time travel can only contribute so much with its contrived rules.  The solution, introduced in Chain of Memories, is replicas.
The replica program, spearheaded by Vexen and operating mostly out of Castle Oblivion, produced only two successful test subjects.  The first was the Riku Replica, designed to do the bidding of its Organization masters, be it to challenge Sora or the real Riku.  During Chain of Memories, it's revealed that this replica was given a heart, one whose memories can be manipulated by Namine.  So, in just the second Kingdom Hearts entry, its revealed that replicas exist and can be bestowed hearts.
Tumblr media
The concept isn't used again until 358/2 Days, where the second replica is introduced.  This one, Xion, is a replica that received Sora's memories as they leaked from him into Roxas and onto her.  She is called the fourteenth member of the Organization, but she is merely a failsafe should Roxas and Sora stray from the Organization's goals.  Xion has no face until Sora's memories shape her, though only those closest to her see a face resembling Kairi.  Others see another aspect of Sora's heart or no face at all.
Tumblr media
Both the Riku Replica and Xion are eliminated at the end of their entries, but their hearts go on.  The Riku Replica's goes into Riku, while Xion's returns to Sora.
Meanwhile, Vexen, killed in Chain of Memories, is reborn as a complete person.  But to complete his research, and atone for what he did, he rejoins the real Organization.  But, instead of joining with the 13 darknesses, he gets benched.  The products of his research, however, have a more vital role.
Since no more than one Xehanort can exist at the same time, Master Xehanort utilizes the replicas to house the time traveling hearts of his other selves.  Young Master Xehanort (YMX), Ansem, and Xemnas are all replicas.  Vexen states as much in a Secret Report.  But what of the others.  Again, here's our 13 darknesses:
Master Xehanort
Young Master Xehanort (YMX)
Terranort
Ansem, Seeker of Darkness
Xemnas
Vanitas
Xigbar
Saix
Luxord
Marluxia
Larxene
Riku Replica
Xion
I've already gone over Numbers 1-5, so let's start with Number 6.  Time Traveler?  Replica?  What is Vanitas?
Tumblr media
As of now, we only have three probable/confirmed time travelers: Xehanort, Sora, and Kairi.  Is Vanitas the fourth?  I would have to wager...no.  Nevertheless, I suspect he is in fact a replica.  How?  Why?  First, let's see what Nomura had to say on the subject:
"While the Vanitas that appeared in KH3D was an illusion, this time he's real and makes an appearance.  Vanitas and the other members have resurrected in an unusual way.  Some of the members returned to their human forms only to then again turn into Nobodies, while others have resurrected by using other means.  For example. Lea and Ienzo, who are collaborating with Sora, have just resurrected as humans."
The "unusual way" he speaks of is clearly the replicas.  So Vanitas is a heart placed inside a replica.  But could he be a time-traveling heart?  Given that it's only his heart in the replica, he certainly fills the first requirement of time travel.  However, the only darknesses we know to be time travelers are Xehanorts.  Vanitas most certainly is not one.
When Sora and co encounter Vanitas in Monstropolis, Goofy says the following:
"The King told us about this.  Ventus wasn’t able to defeat Vanitas.  They struck each other down and then the King said Ventus’ heart never returned to him. "
Tumblr media
According to Goofy, Ventus failed to completely destroy Vanitas.  But we know Ven was the victor, preventing the Chi-blade from forming.  So what happened to Vanitas?  There have been no Unversed spreading throughout the worlds since his defeat.  Doesn't that mean he was destroyed and he must be time traveling?
Well, Vanitas also says this:
"My heart is made of just one thing.  And the Unversed collected enough screams and sadness from those children to reconstruct it...But even with all this negative emotion, my heart is still incomplete."
He needs the negative emotions present in Monstropolis to recover.  But why?
Here's my theory:  Vanitas was ripped heart from body after his loss to Ventus.  He became little more than an apparition haunting the Keyblade Graveyard.  And, unaware of the abilities of a free heart to time travel, he was stuck.  He couldn't unleash any Unversed.  He couldn't hunt for Ventus.
Along comes Master Xehanort, gathering his 13 darknesses in the Keyblade Graveyard, and who does he stumble upon?  Vanitas, or what's left of him.  Xehanort takes Vanitas' heart and provides it a replica to use.  But he's still weak, so he goes out seeking negative emotions to power back up.  He even resorts to trying to coax Ventus' heart out of Sora in order to restore his lost strength.
Tumblr media
While this theory doesn't preclude time travel, as a Xehanort in the past could alert Vanitas and guide him to the future, there's no evidence that Vanitas is time traveling.  The only reason the other Xehanorts are time traveling is because they can't fully exist with Master Xehanort reformed in the present.  Vanitas has no such restriction.
If some weakened version of Vanitas persisted and was provided a replica, then the events playing out in Monstropolis make sense.  And given Nomura's words on the matter, he is almost certainly a replica.  He's just not necessarily time traveling.
Tumblr media
Let's move on to Number 12.  For a part of the game, it's hinted that this Riku Replica is really a time traveler, coming from the point in KH1 where Ansem possessed Riku.  It's a reasonable assumption, given that every Xehanort is now capable of time travel and this Xehanort is part Riku and not a pure duplicate of Number 4, Ansem.  However, when this Riku Replica speaks, he has a single voice.  Those who remember in KH1, whenever the possessed Riku spoke, it was always David Gallagher and the fantastic Billy Zane speaking together.  That is the first hint that this Riku is not what he seems.
It's not until a scene in the Keyblade Graveyard that all is made clear.  And it only takes a single line:
"You’re not real.  I’m the real one."
Tumblr media
If this sounds familiar, it's because the Riku Replica in Chain of Memories said nearly the exact same thing:
"I'm me," he says. It must be nice, being real. A fake like me could never get away with saying that. That's right, I'm a phony! The way I look, the way I feel, everything!
And then the Riku Replica that has taken refuge in Riku’s heart says that this new Riku Replica is him.  But this also provides an answer to what the original Riku Replica said in Chain of Memories
"What happens when someone who's not real dies? Where will my              heart go? That is, if it doesn't disappear completely..."
Tumblr media
So we know that this is definitely a Riku Replica and not Ansem-Riku utilizing the replica.  Then is it a time traveling Riku Replica?  Again, I would posit no, for basically the same reasons that it's unlikely Vanitas is time traveler.  He's not a Xehanort, there's no evidence he's capable of time travel, and there's a reasonable alternative explanation.
Well, actually there is some evidence he'd be capable of time travel.  The original Riku Replica was destroyed, but his heart took refuge in Riku's heart.  So a heart separated from the body means he's fulfilled the first rule.  But just because he meets this one condition doesn't mean he's a time traveler.
Tumblr media
More likely, I suspect, is that Xehanort used Vexen's research to complete an exact duplicate of the first Riku Replica.  It's the simplest answer, and while Kingdom Hearts rarely goes with what's simplest, for this one case, I believe it has.  We can also figure that Xehanort did the exact same with Darkness No. 13.  He made an exact duplicate of a previous successful replica: Xion.
The Xion we see arrive at the Keyblade Graveyard is not the Xion we've known.  It is a copy based on Vexen's original.  That means it has its own heart, imparted with a fragment of Xehanort to complete his 13 darknesses.  So what happens when it comes in contact with Sora, who has the original Xion's heart within his own?
Tumblr media
Let's go back to what Iezno reveals to Sora about Ansem the Wise's research:
“I have discovered three unique hearts inside of Sora’s. One is Roxas. The second has been with Sora for nearly as long. And a third has resided in Sora’s heart for even longer - most of his life, in fact. This is a truly astonishing discovery. While these hearts have now melded with Sora - grown silent and indistinct - Sora retains the memories of all three. The memories have been compartmentalized - each place in its own ‘box’, so to speak. I surmise the hearts can be awoken, provided that each of them is returned to the box that contains the correct memories. Unite the hearts with its memories, and provide it a suitable body within which it may flourish, and I believe any or all of these three people can be made real again.”
Though Xion's heart has melded with Sora's, it’s still in its own "box," and Ansem the Wise speculates she can be resurrected.  How?  It's all about what Sora is after for almost all of KH3: the power of waking.
When Sora and Aqua return to the Land of Departure seeking to wake Ventus, he still hasn't used this power.  It is only when Aqua is in danger that something within triggers it.  Sora releases Ventus' heart, and a restored Ventus hurries to protect Aqua.  Though this waking plays out in a cutscene, Ventus' restoration is nearly instantaneous, as he wakes fast enough to interrupt Vanitas' attack.
Tumblr media
Xion's awakening plays out just as fast.  When Sora recognizes who Xion is, either because of Roxas or because of Xion's own heart, we can imagine that through the power of waking, Xion's heart leaves Sora and enters the replica.  It is at that moment that the new replica takes on the appearance of the old one.
Tumblr media
Ienzo writes in his secret report what is needed to restore those in Sora's heart:
"First a vessel for each heart must be readied.  Then, a spark of some sort is required to induce its waking.  Obviously, the ideal solution is to restore each heart to its own body, but...Roxas possesses no such thing.  The same is true for Namine, who we believe resides in Kairi's heart.  Still, if alternative bodies can be secured for them, all their hearts require to be awakened is that "spark"--people they cared for and who cared for them, who can show them the way home."
Ventus was restored to his own body, with the "spark" provided by Aqua.  Xion was restored to another replica based on the original, with the "spark" provided by both Sora and Axel.  As for what happened to the Xion replica's original heart with a Xehanort fragment, we can speculate that the original's Xion's heart commandeering the replica drove out the Xehanort within, and either melded with the existing heart or drove that out as well.
As for Roxas, Ienzo details how they prepared the replica body for him:
"If we transfer in the digital memories from the Twilight Town archive, the replicas should be able to reconstruct each individual's human appearance with near-perfect results."
So a replica for Roxas was constructed using the data contained in the alternate Twilight Town.  This allowed them to shape the replica into the correct appearance.  When they ship it off to the Keyblade Graveyard, the "spark" required to wake his heart is instantaneously provided by Axel and Xion.  Roxas' heart leaves Sora and enters the replica.
Tumblr media
With the power of waking and the required spark, all three hearts residing in Sora are freed and sent into vessels of their own.  By the end of Kingdom Hearts III, the only heart left in Sora is his own, at least as far as we know.
There is one replica I have yet to bring up: Namine.  We'll discuss her and speculate about the ending and secret ending of KH3 next time.

Ava KH3 Remind/KHUX Theory
This theory attempts to explain Ava's absence and current location with reference to KHUX, KH3 and Remind so heavy spoilers. I'm very open to criticism and would love to hear people's opinions, especially if they find a flaw in anything I've said because it's very possible given how much there is to link up.
So in the most recent KHUX update (January 2020), it was revealed that Blaine was given the Book of Prophecies by Master Ava in an attempt to change the future that had already been written and that that seemed to be her main goal after finding out the truth from Luxu.
This clears up the discussion that Luxu/Xigbar has with the foretellers in KH3's secret ending when Gula questions him about Ava's absence, to which he replies,
"Ava had her own mission, and she carried it out"
Now looking back at a big 'mission' for Sora in KH3 and ALL of Remind wassssss-
changing a 'future' that had already happened.
I feel like it's very unlike Nomura to spend so much time and put so much emphasis on the action of rewriting fate and particularly its consequences as he did in KH3 and especially Remind to then have another character with the exact same goal go about it a completely unrelated way.
So I think that out of desperation to change fate just like Sora, she in some way used and abused the power of waking and, as Luxu says, is successful, which also means she faced the same consequences as Sora; she can no longer exist in their world. ((reality?))
This would explain well why she doesn't turn up at the Keyblade Graveyard with the other foretellers, she can't.
And Luxu seems to acknowledge that he knows she can't and the reason she can't when he only seems very mildly surprised she didn't turn up and then refers back to her 'mission' when questioned about it.
This fits in nicely with how the story of Kingdom Hearts looks like it'll continue judging by the secret endings. The other four foretellers continue their story back in their world//reality and Ava, assuming she ends up in Shibuya like Sora (and Riku I guess?) continues hers in Shibuya to some extent. I honestly can't see her just being dropped from the future story's active cast at all given how overwhelmingly popular she and her union are in both versions of KHUX and what a central character she is out of all the foretellers.
It also makes a lot of sense now why it took so long for the story of khux to really pick up, its better to have it coincide with the events it relates to in KH3 and Remind than any other random time, exactly like how Vanitas revealed a hint to his true nature in Remind just as Darkness was getting very involved in KHUX
Some Notes:
• As far as we know Ava doesn't have the Power of Waking so maybe she learns it somehow or she changes fate in another way that gets her kicked out? Again I don't think so much emphasis would be put on the rules and consequences of the Power of Waking if it was just going to be dropped/barely touched again in the story.
• A lot of theories pointed to Ava being Subject X (from the KH3 secret reports), I really do still thing subject X is Skuld, she's a better age to fit with Isa and Lea and I think it's odd for Luxu to talk about Ava as he does in the Keyblade Graveyard reunion if he's seen her maybe just over 12/13 years ago? Which is relatively short when you put it in perspective of how long he's been going for
• This is assuming that Brain is telling the truth about how he got the book because tbh he's still on my dodge list lads
• Also the fact that certain characters knew exactly what would happen to Sora after abusing the Power of Waking (Chirithy, Young Xehanort), could be because it has happened to someone before?
• Issue of how much time has passed (100 years at least) since the keyblade war, so maybe time works differently in Shibuya relative to Sora and co's world. Or alternatively she could be stuck in the Final World but I feel like Chirithy would've known and said something if that was the case? Or maybe he only showed up for Sora because of his link to Ven. Just makin up stuff at this point haha
There's so so many details and info we're missing from pretty much all of the situations I mentioned above so I think it's very likely, almost certain even tbh that scenarios will happen in the future that are going to contradict something I've said but given what we have to go on right now I think this is pretty solid enough. Again I'd love to hear everyone else's thoughts or if anyone knows anything I've missed that could help/dismiss any point I've made!

Tetsuya Nomura On Kingdom Hearts 3 Remind and the Series’ Future
January 22, 2020 10:45 AM EST
Tetsuya Nomura answered 13 Questions of Darkness regarding the Kingdom Hearts 3 Remind DLC, hinting at what comes next for the series.
Square Enix published the second part of the Q&A regarding Kingdom Hearts 3 Remind: the 13 Questions of Darkness with Tetsuya Nomura. Kingdom Hearts‘ Director chatted about the DLC’s content and most notably mentioned that while it’ll take a while for the next main Kingdom Hearts game, other games are coming soon. An announcement regarding Kingdom Hearts Union X will also happen on January 23.
Note that I have merged and summarized questions 1 and 2 together in my translation as the answers simply summarize previously known information.

1&2/ What’s different about past Final Mix games and the Remind DLC? What’s the difference between the KHIII version 1.07 Free Update and the Remind DLC?
“Unlike Final Mix games which added new elements and balance changes to the whole game, Remind is independent content you can enjoy after clearing the main game. You can think of Remind as the Final Mix equivalent of Kingdom Hearts 3. The Free Update also adds new content that would have been included in a Final Mix version in the past, like the new Keyblades and abilities.
3/ Are you planning to release a “Kingdom Hearts 3 Final Mix” game later on? Or a physical version that includes the Remind DLC?
“At the time, we have no concrete plans for that. Maybe we’ll think about it if Kingdom Hearts 3 is ported to a new platform. I didn’t think about whether that could be a Final Mix or not either.”
4/ When does the additional scenario of the Remind DLC takes place? And what does it depicts?
“Some parts are skipped, but if you take Sora as the reference, it starts from the end of the final battle in the main game and goes until the ending. And it depicts Kairi’s rescue. The player has a broader point of view on the story than Sora’s point of view, so the Sora in Remind has a broader point of view than in the main game. It’s difficult to explain, But “KHIII” ended in “KHIII“, and its ending leads and connects to Remind‘s ending.”
5/ Does the Remind DLC affects the story shown in the main game?
“There are no changes to the main game’s story. Remind doesn’t affect it as it can only be played after clearing the main game. As for the cutscene corrections in the main story included in version 1.07, those are things I wanted to do but couldn’t until now for various reasons. Specifically speaking, it concerns the depiction of damage in cutscenes and the depiction of the sky.”
6/ Why the Final Fantasy characters didn’t appear in Kingdom Hearts III? And why did you make them appear in the Remind DLC?
“In KHIII’s story developments, there are no reasons to visit Radiant Garden, and we had some development problems regarding that too. The story developments in Remind necessitate the appearance of the Final Fantasy characters, and it would please the fans, so we added them. Even if they don’t play a big role, it conveys the fact that they’re still here.”
7/ What should we look forward to regarding the Limit Cut Bosses? Which ones are the most interesting?
“We decided from the start the Limit Cut Bosses would be fights against the Real Organization XIII members, but we disagreed about whether we should include Xion or not. I consulted Tai Yasue about it during development. Xion almost didn’t make the cut. So I hope you’ll enjoy her boss fight and struggle just like we struggled about whether to include her or not. She’s really strong.”
8/ In the past you said you wished to add one World’s worth of content with the Remind DLC, did you manage to do so?
“The truth is, at first we started to plan and design an actual new World, but it just didn’t feel right to me to add a new world by itself. If we try to do that again one day, I think it would be better if we had it from the start among our list of possible Worlds to add. To make up for that World we didn’t do, Remind has even more than 1 World’s worth of content. In particular, we had a hard time developing so many new bosses.”
9/ Can you tell us more about the Secret Boss & Episode?
“They include my thoughts regarding what comes next in the series. I don’t think you can predict them with the information you have now. The Secret Boss battle also turned out into something pretty different than what I initially ordered from the development team.”
10/ Why does the Kingdom Hearts 3 Remind DLC Final Trailer includes a line from the beginning of Kingdom Hearts 1?
“I wrote that line so I could reuse it someday if I had the occasion. I don’t think you’ll get what I mean at all, but back then, adding that line is what made the world of Kingdom Hearts approved. This mystery won’t be resolved now, but I think we’re at the entrance of the way leading to it.”
11/ Are you planning to do any new updates or DLCs following Remind?
“We don’t have any plans for future updates, but maybe more could come. As for DLCs, Remind is the first and last one. I’ve already moved on to the next game.”
12/ Can you tell us more regarding the future of the Kingdom Hearts series?
“It’ll take some time until the next main Kingdom Hearts game. But on January 23, an unexpected announcement from the KHUχ team will happen. Moreover, besides the KHIII development team and the KHUχ development team, two other teams are currently at work, and one of these two teams’ games will come out unexpectedly quick.”
13/ Do you have a message to share with the fans?
“After KHIII‘s development ended, some organizational changes happened. Because of that, we made you wait longer than expected for the Remind DLC and I apologize. The Remind DLC is packed with awesome content. I thought we’d focus on story elements, but most of the development time was spent on the boss battles and new systems. I hope you will enjoy all the merciless battles we could only add through this DLC. Co-director Yasue said he wanted to see players fight against the Secret Boss, so we also removed nearly all the Share restrictions. I hope you’ll enjoy the DLC.”
Square Enix also published some gameplay footage of boss battles in the DLC:

— キングダム ハーツ (@_KINGDOMHEARTS) January 22, 2020
If you wish to hear my unneeded opinion about all this. I’m one of those who disagree about the opinion that Kingdom Hearts‘ story is overly complicated, though I do agree it is needlessly complicated at times. And God, translating Tetsuya Nomura’s words when speaking about the series feels the exact same. Sometimes I wish he’d just stop Kingdom Hearts and announce The Bouncer 2 on PlayStation 5.
We also translated the “7 Questions of Light” with Tai Yasue regarding the Remind DLC. You can read more about the DLC’s content with our previous coverage here, here. here, and here. We also translated past Kingdom Hearts 3 Remind interviews with Tetsuya Nomura.
Kingdom Hearts 3 Remind launches on January 23 on PlayStation 4. It’s already available in Japan as I’m writing this. The DLC will be available a month later on February 25 on Xbox One.
