Feedist Christmas Prompts 🎄🎅🎁 MDNI
A decides to put on a few pounds to better fit in their santa costume.
A hits several Christmas dinner parties in one day after accidentally agreeing to attend them all.
A gets a “special toy” as a gift for ripping the seams on their ugly Christmas sweater.
A believes in Santa and always leaves an entire table filled with festive desserts instead of just cookies. Secretly, B plays the part of Santa, so they sneak down when A is sleeping and take a bite out of everything. B has a tummyache in the morning but A is so happy to see that Santa came.
A is burning up due to their size but B is ridiculously cold. They compromise and A holds B close while they watch christmas movies with the ac on.
A has a sweet tooth, and luckily for them, they get plenty of stocking stuffers to satisfy it.
A has been struggling to wrap presents as well as B, so B gives them a personal lesson in wrapping by tying up their chubby body shibari style.
A wants to leave milk and cookies out for santa, but B keeps eating them all.
Alternatively, A is making a gingerbread house but it ends up in ruins because B keeps eating the parts.
A and B build snowmen of each other. A gets a bit jealous because B is so attentive as they shape the snowman’s belly.
The snow king/queen thinks A is far too thin and has their servants feed them sweets made by the sugarplum fairy.
A is on the naughty list this year and they get magically punished with rapid weight gain.
A always puts the topper on top of the tree, and B always lifts them to do it. But this year, A put on weight and is far too heavy to be lifted.
A is a mall santa and B is the excited and oversized adult about to sit on their lap.
A slips on some ice and falls in the snow, they’re far too full and tired to attempt standing up again. B lays next to them and makes snow angels while A recovers.
A catches a cold and is too sick to go to the christmas dinner party, so B stays with them and they order lots of take out.
A feeds B from a spread of food that gradually increases in size over 12 days.
A is B’s secret santa and doesn’t know what to get them. Eventually they decide to just take them out to eat, which ends up being a good decision.
A and B are wearing matching pajamas except B is basically bursting out of theirs.
A drags B to church on Christmas sunday with the promise that they’d be eating afterwards. B’s stomach growls loudly throughout the entire sermon, somehow even louder when A is singing in the choir, red in the face.
Elves are supposed to be small but A is almost too big and fat to come to work.
A teases B while their tongue is stuck to a metal pole.
A is visited by the ghosts of christmas breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
A gets some unwanted attention while Christmas shopping, prompting B to feel them up in public.
A, B, and C all accidentally get D the same gift. D doesn’t mind, because the gift is edible and they were hungry.

Survey Updates!
hi folks,
It's been awhile, but I have read through and taken into serious consideration all the feedback I received after our '23 gift giving season! Here are the Updates™ to look forward to...
tldr: reminders/promo in MAY, applications in AUG, stocking stuffer details; gift exchange details; Discord server details
Sign-Ups // Applications
• Promo and sign-up reminders will become a bi-weekly reminder starting in May; this ensures that folks can plan ahead well into their calendars so everyone has more breathing room during the creation period.
• Applications will be released sometime in August! It will most likely be the latter half, aiming for the weekend of 8/17-18; this ensures that applications exist a little longer for people to get ahold of and think over where they may be during the creation/gift-giving periods. This also allows you to ask questions well in advance!
Stocking Stuffers
• Will be open to EVERYONE in the server! Still focused on JANUARY!
• these will be included in a separate section on the '24-'25 season application--folks would include their prompts/ships/details and when the time comes for S.S, I would post these within that section of the Discord for anyone to work with...this in theory would mean that you can sign up for both a gift and to participate in the bonus exchange, or you just sign up for one or the other.
• Sign-up for the bonus gifts is NOT required to participate in the year's gift exchange. Nor does it mean (if you sign up for both) that you are obligated to create a bonus gift! This allows me to tally the interest in the Bonus gifts better.
Gift Exchange // Event Modifications
• This season, I encourage you to aim for more prompts. We've had a lot of incredibly specific tropes (i.e: "Lovers to Enemies", "Sharing One Bed", "Mutual Pining") the past few seasons, and while you can still suggest those, there will be a section dedicated entirely to prompts within your application (i.e: "X and Y going fishing", "X wants to cook for the night, but Y fears for their life everytime X even steps foot in the kitchen") where you must include some PROMPTS that you'd like to receive a gift based on.
• There will be a mini-event for Halloween co-hosted with KakuHida Week because i pull all the strings. Very chill, where we will share prompts between events and there will be greater flexibility with some of the traditional CHARACTER INCLUSION guidelines. More details in May--posting will occur Monday, 10/28 - Sunday, 11/3. This is an opportunity to post smaller stories, one shots, drabbles, line art, sketches--you name it. Purely existing for a good time for the Akatsuki folks.
Server Setup, Communications, & Connections
• If you need anything--questions, insight, concerns---please DM on DISCORD. I am way more attentiative to that as opposed to Tumblr and will be keeping those notifs on. ;)
• Many folks suggested this one; we're going to try hosting mini check-ins and questions. Nothing deep: we have a pet channel, a good vibes channel, and a handful of 'share soemthing good in your life' to generate some more interaction. This is not going to affect anyone's event participations--I'm hoping to encourage a little more sense of community, as times can be tough and sometimes the most enjoyable thing in the day is bragging about the awesome lunch you just made---more details in May!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That was a lot, so thank you for sticking with me. Please do not hesitate with questions! I am at multiple comic cons, reptile expos, and work in a forest, so if it takes me a few days, I sincerely apologize, but I will get back to you. Loves of love and Happy Earth Day! Go enjoy the weather if it's nice where you're currently at and maybe use a water bottle instead of a plastic cup.
stay groovy out there ~ mod GP 🤍
Not quite a Christmas story
My mother was born in 1935. In 1940, she and her mother went as refugees from WWII to Canada, where my mother spent the next five years in a Catholic boarding school and my grandmother worked in a munitions factory and they saw each other on Sundays. My grandfather was in the navy. After the war, my grandparents had two more children, hated each other, and divorced in 1969 when their youngest child turned 18.
My mother came to Scotland in 1959, taught school for a year, met my father, went back to Canada to get married, and came back to Scotland in 1964. She had three children, and when we were young, she gave us a wonderful childhood with - moments.
At Christmas she would devise each of us a stocking with small presents she had bought through the year, just right as stocking-stuffers, and also always fruit and nuts tucked into the toe. She taught each of us to cook - I have been baking expertly since I was eight years old. She taught each of us to read, and never banned us from reading any of the books that crowded our family home. She gave fantastic birthday parties, and because my birthday falls inside the Christmas holiday season when everybody is partied out, she also used to organise a second party for me elsewhen in the year - at Hallowe'en, or in the summer holidays. She liked to give thoughtful perfect presents but when I made clear my favourite present was a book token and an afternoon in the biggest children's bookshop, that's what she gave me, plus oddments to unwrap so it wasn't just booktoken envelopes to open on the day. She took us to a cottage in the Borders every summer, a 4-room cottage with no electricity, water heated by the fire in the living-room, and we spent golden weeks there.
She got me my first set of adult library cards, two years early, when she realised I had literally run out of books to read in the children's library. She gave me blank lined notebooks for journals, and my first two manual typewriters, and bought me paper and pens. She read aloud to me: The Once And Future King, and Ivanhoe, and The Lord of the Rings.
And then there was a birthday party that was cancelled at the last minute because my mother realised she had left too much undone and couldn't do it: the teacher told the class and told me separately and sent me home early and must have told the children not to tease me about it. There was any number of times I got screamed at for offences I didn't understand at the time (and only sometimes understand now). There was the strange distancing that happened between ten and seventeen, as I became less and less able to fit the mold of the daughter she wanted. I came out to her at seventeen - she was almost the first person I told: and she was horrified, and I lived for the next two years in an atmosphere of unremitting disapproval. The disapproval didn't end when I was 19: I left home.
My mother was homophobic til the day she lost consciousness: she just got better at hiding it over the years. The measure of her love for me is that despite wishing all of her life that I would stop being a lesbian, she never could bring herself to disown me.
My mother dealt with my neurodivergence - I am dysphraxic - by deciding it wasn't real: I spent decades of my life not sure why I was always so clumsy and so kackhanded with anything requiring delicate coordination. She didn't want me dysphraxic any more than she wanted me lesbian.
I found a page in one of her journals, a Christmas fantasy of her family in ten years time: of her oldest child married and with kids, her youngest child married with another kid. I was not in this fantasy: the unsatisfactory daughter.
My mother was a hoarder: it took me months to clear her last home of stuff. I found the teddy bear she'd had since she was five, tucked away in the clutter, and gave it to the undertaker to include in her coffin at the funeral. It seemed to me she should go with one of the things she'd loved and kept in life. My mother hoarded things. She and my father, who died ten months before her, lived in a large flat that was cluttered wall to wall with things - with books, of course, and with food, with clothes she no longer wore, gifts she had never given, inheritances and things picked up in charity shops, the once-useful and the might-be-useful and the someday-useful. And papers. And journals. And spent lottery tickets. She hadn't held down a job since the 1980s, and she had - from her journals - sometimes elaborate fantasies about what she'd do when she won.
We were waiting for the paramedics to take my mother to the hospital after the last bad fall she had, and because it wasn't an emergency they were very late. I made us cocoa and toasted cheese sandwiches in my mother's kitchen, while we were waiting. The last meal I made for her. I can't remember what the first one was, when she first showed me how to cook.
A couple of months later, I invited a couple of volunteers from a soup kitchen/food bank to come over and take what they wanted from the kitchen. I had meant to have it better organised but when they came, they looked at me, and at my mother's kitchen, and one said "You haven't been able to get started on this, have you?" and I said no, and they said "we'll do it". They boxed up everything they could take with them, and sorted the rest into cardboard boxes of what a charity shop would likely take and what should just go to the dump, and somewhere, I hope, some of that hoard of mugs are still in use, being drunk from with hot tea by someone who could really use a cuppa.
My mother died on this day, on 23rd December 2015, and over the years I have dealt with the anniversary of her death in different ways: I've gone on holiday, I've gone swimming, I've gone for a walk, I've gone to see Cats the Movie, I even one year worked a full day at work because Christmas fell on a Sunday and they were offering full hours to anyone who wanted to work the last Friday.
This year, I'm tired and in recovery from COVID. I've made bread, done laundry, done the dishes, had two naps, tried to read a Mira Grant novel, changed the cat litter trays, taken the rubbish out, gone for as long a walk as I could manage, and I'm still sitting here, contemplating my mother's life and death and legacy and wishing for, I don't know what.
My father's life is so much easier: he had a happy childhood, work he loved, a retirement spent writing and walking and caring for his wife. My father's life makes a satisfying story: he wrote some of it down in a memoir for his children.
My mother's life was strange and muddled and broken and full of cluttered things and unfocussed anger and a lot of misery. And yet: I still miss how she would say my name, sudden and joyous, "Oh, it's you!"
The Fall Ball was over.
Six solid weeks of weekend lacrosse scrimmages had come and gone, and Pitchiner was ready to spend the remaining Saturdays and Sundays of the semester sleeping in.
Preferably curled up in full-bodied spoon fashion around a certain bony, snarky drama king who had a ridiculously poor circulatory system.
On the second Saturday of November, Pitchiner woke from yet another one of those dreams where he was stalked and mocked by a gigantic and ruthless galactic pirate who wore his face. Disoriented, he reached a hand out to pull Pitch closer to his body for reassurance, and encountered cold sheets and empty space where Pitch should be.
He clamped his lips shut before he could do anything as embarrassing as calling out for his roommate. As it was so often said, that way lay madness. Murphy’s law would almost definitely take over and triumph, in the form of Proto and his damned bat-sharp ears answering Pitchiner’s call instead.
So, as much as he did not want to be vertical this early, Pitchiner swung his legs over the side of the bed and scrounged through the rumpled piles of clothing on the floor for some boxers and a T-shirt. Dressed enough to satisfy decency standards if anyone rang the buzzer for their flat, he padded on bare feet down the hallway towards the living room.
And that’s where he found Pitch.
The shorter man was seated on the couch, hunched over his laptop. A full steaming cup of black coffee and a plate of biscotti sat on the coffee table in front of him. When Pitchiner’s shadow fell over him, Pitch tilted his head upwards in acknowledgement, but kept staring at the screen, an expression somewhere between disbelief and desperation etched on his angular face.
“Whatcha up to, babe?” Pitchiner asked, trying to keep his tone light. The scene in front of him - the coffee, the biscotti, the taut focus on his bedmate’s face - had all the warning signs of Pitch launching himself into yet another bout of overworking, which could end up triggering another seizure incident. That was something Pitchiner would give an arm and a leg to avoid experiencing again.  Once was enough, thank you.
“Wracking my brains to figure out what approach to take with Professor Izzilee’s second-to-last assignment,” Pitch replied, finally turning his body to look Pitchiner fully in the eye. “I either need a time machine, or to create a non-existent childhood experience.”
“Come again?” Pitchiner flopped onto the couch next to Pitch, narrowly avoiding knocking the coffee table with his knees. Pitch looked daggers at him and snatched his mug out of harm’s way, taking a deep swig before answering. “This is for the ‘Nihil Noctem’ course I’m taking, and the assignment is to write about a Saturday morning cartoon that frightened me as a child.”
“That sounds cool!  What’s the problem?”
“The problem is that neither Piki nor I ever watched Saturday morning cartoons.”
Pitchiner blinked and shook his head. “Why does that not surprise me?” For that, he received a sharp poke in the ribs with Pitch’s bony elbow.
“I know what you’re thinking, that the offspring of rich people are too high and mighty and above it all to do something as plebeian as view cartoons. But it was more than that. Have I mentioned that my brother and I had a nanny until we were ten?”
“Uh huh.  Again, not a surprise.”
“Shut it. I’m trying to make a point. Nanny Phoebe was a lot more attuned to us as children than our parents were. She’s the one that noticed that Piki’s eyesight was weaker than mine, and she’s the one who picked up on the fact that certain smells would trigger my headaches, like carpet cleaning fluid and furniture polish. So she’s the one that kept us from watching television, not because she thought it was evil, but because she figured out, a lot earlier than most people did, what lights and sounds should be filtered for children with our particular circumstances.”
 “Huh.  That’s impressive on her end, but I’m still kind of sad that you missed out on so much good stuff.”
“Oh, you don’t have to be. Horseback riding, music, reading… those are nothing to sneeze at for childhood activities.”
“Yeah, but.” Pitchiner slung an arm around Pitch and pulled him roughly against his side as he said, “that means that I’m just going to have to fill in the gaps in your education, so that you don’t let Professor Izzilee down.”
Pitch made a grumbling noise as he practically fell into Pitchiner’s lap.  “And how do you propose to do that? Do you actually have a time machine hidden around here?”
“Nope.  But I am going to introduce you to something that scared the living shit out of ME as a kid, and I will BET that it will keep your attention even now.”
“Is all this… paraphernalia really necessary?” Pitch demanded crankily, two hours later.
“Absolutely necessary,” Pitchiner shot back. “I can’t recreate YOUR childhood, but I can recreate mine, and you can borrow it for your assignment.”
“Hmmmm. You may have a point. It’s not too hard for me to imagine myself young and powerless, especially in this ridiculous garb.”
“You look adorable, sweetcheeks. And Purradox and Tarminator are comfy, aren’t they?”
“Yes, yes.” Pitch grudgingly accepted the kiss Pitchiner planted on top of his head.
They each wore a pair of footie pajamas that Pitchiner had found at the department store in town. They sat cross-legged on the floor with their backs leaning against the couch, a pug dog and a longhaired cat cuddled on their laps, a blanket fort canopied over their heads.  Pitchiner had a bowl of disgustingly sugar-laden cereal next to him that he ate with his fingers. Pitch couldn’t quite unbend that far to “get into the experience”, as Pitchiner put it, but he had to admit to himself that this was actually not too awful a way to spend time together.
[Particularly since Proto had apparently left the flat while they were out shopping, and had left a note that he wouldn’t be back until tomorrow.  Small blessing, but Pitch would take one wherever he could.]
Pitchiner pointed the remote at their entertainment center, and the DVD started to play. An animated action sequence with an appropriately-synched soundtrack unfolded, fading into a title card that read “The Invisible Monster”, with the credited year given as 1965.
He observed Pitch’s reactions to what they were watching, rather than watching an episode he knew by heart. It pleased him to see how quickly Pitch immersed himself in the story, rather than the scoffing dismissal Pitchiner had expected. At one point Tarminator barked in response to a dog barking on screen, but other than a quick “ssshhh”, Pitch didn’t change his posture.
Both animals left the room about halfway through the episode. Pitchiner grinned to himself. As a kid, he hadn’t known about infrasonics, but he wasn’t surprised that Purradox and Tarminator had noped out when the incidental music hit those low-frequency tones.
To all appearances, Pitch was mesmerized by the manifestation of the invisible monster’s heavy footprints in the dirt, small smoking craters accompanied by crashing noises as the soundtrack cranked up the eerie mood. And then the scene came where the heroes poured paint over the creature so that it could be seen.
Okay, this is make-or-break time, Pitchiner thought to himself. Either Pitch would dismiss the whole rest of the show as silly, or he would find it just as nerve-wracking as Pitchiner had when he first saw it all those years ago.
On the screen the heroes defeated the monster with the application of science, and returned to their ordinary lives.  The episode’s credits rolled, and the smaller man leaned against the larger man’s shoulder. Pitchiner didn’t know whether Pitch was even aware he’d done so, and decided to let it ride rather than mocking him.
After a few minutes Pitch finally spoke. “I think I must have actually seen this once upon a time, because I’ve had nightmares about an electrical phantom.”
“Really?” “Of course I can’t be sure. But I think so. I doubt I could have dreamed up that strange flowing, glitching movement without some inspiration.”
“Told ya it would freak you out, if you could put yourself back in the mind of the kid you could have been.”
Pitch stretched his arms out and wriggled his backside against the couch, a movement that did happy things to Pitchiner’s insides, saying, “I think I’ve got a direction to go in now with this project. Thank you for showing me this.”
“Need a hand getting off the floor?”
“I hate to admit it, but yes.”
“No sweat.” Pitchiner scrambled to his feet and scooped Pitch up into his arms in a bridal carry. Of course Pitch squawked a bit, but Pitchiner leaned his head down to shut him up with a sloppy kiss. When they both broke for air, Pitchiner said, “I think I’ve had enough kid stuff today. Wanna help me find MY one-eyed monster?”
“You. You’re insatiable." Pitch gave a long-suffering sigh. "Let’s go.”
