ok so like hear me out and you’re gonna have to stick with me for a minute. consider that next season sydney and marcus do get together right? and for a little they’re happy but then slowly realize something is off…marcus realizes that he actually doesn’t have feelings for her he likes syd as a friend and actually he liked luca. they eventually talk about that but it’s like well luca isn’t coming back right so they go back to being friends, but then oh wow luca shows up what a crazy turn of events (syd called him) and he’s also interested in marcus. then that leads to jealous carmy and gets the chefs kiss ball rolling mhm.

it’s possible! will said he wants to come back to the show! 😭😭😭

Sometimes The Bear fandom infuriates me bc so many fans have this need to make a villain out of someone- Claire and Marcus are the big two- but the reality is that the villain of the show is self-sabotage.

Carmy sabotages his relationship with his family (and work family) by avoiding them until he needs help, and then asking for help without acknowledging he's in over his head.

Sydney sabotages her relationship with her career by over-achieving to the point of breaking, knowing she can do amazing things but going too big too fast.

Claire sabotages her love life by choosing someone who needs fixing, when her job already requires her to fix people.

Marcus sabotages his dreams by not being present in the moment.

Richie sabotages the future of his relationship with his daughter and ex by clinging to how he acted in the past.

This theme of self-sabotage is so important, bc it's what makes the show relatable. Not everyone is a chef, not everyone lives in Chicago. But everyone can relate to wanting something, and then losing that something due to their own actions.

Sydney, Natalie, and Tina. 🙌🏽

Sydney, Natalie, and Tina were absolute bosses this season. They were grinding it out, trying to get that restaurant ready and open. Tina honed her skills and helped Sydney with the menu (since Carmy was MIA); it was great to see her step into the role as Sous Chef. I was so happy we got more Natalie, and it was so great to see her and Sydney working together to get that restaurant up and running (all while pregnant, might I add). Sydney really demonstrated how capable and strong she is. In the absence of Carmy or his flakiness, she persevered and put in the work. She learned what it meant to be a leader and part of a team, which ultimately helped them in the end. I also really liked how her relationship with Richie developed to where she was able to lean on him when Carmy got himself locked in the freezer. Anyway, I really loved seeing the women in the kitchen and how amazing they were.

Sidenote: Something to point out, I do commend Carmy because he was back there helping Sydney during service, doing his best. The new guy disappeared, Nat came at him about the low forks issue, Marcus was yelling at Sydney, and Richie was pressuring him to go out and say hi to Claire (it was not the time for that, as Sydney told him). He shouldn't have gone out there because that's when he imagined seeing his old chef, and he went downhill from there.

Anyway, I'm excited to see where they pick up in S3. I'm a little concerned for Marcus. 😔 I know Sydney and Carmy are going to need to work on an awesome menu together to get that Michelin star and generate some press to get people in and tables booked. The pressure is really on. 🙂

I'm currently watching The Bear (I'm on s2e3), and I love that it's a really great show that does not rely on romantic storylines. But I do like shipping on my spare time, and I've been low key shipping Sidney and Marcus since she made him dinner in s1, so imagine my surprise when I go on tumblr to try and find a cute gifset of them, and cannot find anything?? What happened? They're two very attractive people giving each other moon eye in every episode, it deserves to be immortilized!
