And then, since I always felt Cobra Kai functions a bit like a cult (or rather, a lot like a cult) in any era, I envision Terry and John would just commit to their beloved as beloved's husbands through some intricate, extremely private ritual they devise entirely on their own to mark themselves as beloved's partners and it is an entirely viable thing in their eyes that they actually maintain to and respect no matter how much time passes. Sure, it is not enforceable in any court of law per se and beloved can only carry one of their surnames as such, but it doesn't need to be enforceable in the practical sense, because it is enforceable in Terry's and John's world and that's all that matters. They make and break the rules. Cobra Kai has a great many markers of a brotherhood or a gang, so, as it were, the two lead kingpins sharing a common partner isn't all that fantastical or unprecedented. They're bigamists and they work around their bigamy by simply coming up with a secret ceremony that can symbolically wed all three of them and depending of the era this takes place in, said ceremony can be as simple and as morbidly variable and effective as Terry, John and Beloved cutting their palms and holding them together, letting the blood intermingle, getting matching tattoos (or rather, giving beloved a tattoo that matches their own), getting rings for each other or simply branding beloved.Then again, easier solution is Terry simply flying John and beloved out to some country where plural marriages are legal.

Like appearantly, the Maldives.
