watch Maple Ridge (youtube series)

DID YOU KNOW that people are still making slenderman youtube series in this day and age?! Love it. This particular “new generation” series, Maple Ridge, looks really fun so far. It’s just starting up, only a few short episodes so far. I’m gonna be following this one.

I feel like SCP and Slenderman grew up next to each other, low-barrier-to-entry crowdsourced horror out of the pits of the internet. I watched Marble Hornets as it was coming out and even wrote an SCP with multiple references to it many years ago. I’ve recently rewatched Marble Hornets and a few others too; EveryManHYBRID and The Record of Stan Frederick are absolutely fantastic.

Maple Ridge has the DNA but feels new too. I'm glad the tradition is carrying on and am looking forward to seeing where Maple Ridge goes.

Frederick Dewayne Hubbard (April 7, 1938 – December 29, 2008) was a jazz trumpeter. He played bebop, hard bop, and post-bop styles from the early 1960s onwards. His unmistakable and influential tone contributed to new perspectives on modern jazz and bebop.

He started playing the mellophone and trumpet in his school band at Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis. Trumpeter Lee Katzman, former sideman with Stan Kenton, recommended that he begin studying at the Arthur Jordan Conservatory of Music (now the Jordan College of the Arts at Butler University) with Max Woodbury, the principal trumpeter of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. In his teens, he worked locally with brothers Wes and Monk Montgomery and worked with bassist Larry Ridley and saxophonist James Spaulding. In 1958, he moved to New York and began playing with some of the best jazz players of the era, including Philly Joe Jones, Sonny Rollins, Slide Hampton, Eric Dolphy, J. J. Johnson, and Quincy Jones. On June 19, 1960, he made his first record as a leader, Open Sesame, at the beginning of his contract with Blue Note Records, with saxophonist Tina Brooks, pianist McCoy Tyner, bassist Sam Jones, and drummer Clifford Jarvis. Six days later he returned the favor to Brooks and recorded with him on True Blue.

Most of these are gonna be rambling but i really wanted to talk about it so!

An unknown entity, refers to with it/it's but in reality it won't care what you call it.

It is unknown where it comes from or how it was born/came to existence. But if i had to think of something it would probably be that fourth dimension The Operator comes from or the Candelverse.

It didn't have a purpose at first until it started investigating the mortal realm. It got interested in humans, their culture and entertainment. That's also how it found out about Aesop's fables.

Reason why it started helping The Operator's victims? I feel it has crossed paths with it before and just doesn't want it to feed off the entire world cause that would make things boring for it. Plus it loves humans! So it's basically going against it for these reasons.

Very positive and charismatic, not easy to make sad or piss off. If anything it would probably just make fun of you if you attempted to upset it. It will only get upset if it doesn't get what it wants, and that's very unlikely.

It's still hanging out with Stan and helping him with the whole going through dimensions and helping other victims and shit.

It occasionally checks on Mitchell, as it has grown attached to him. Mitchell barely appreciates it.

It is aware of The Collective and HABIT but doesn't have strong feelings towards them.

It thinks the Collective is just a group filled with brainwashed morons who just hate it.

Meanwhile HABIT? A wise entity who chooses to do the worst atrocities which it finds disappointing. HABIT gets freaked out by it.

While i don't think it cares much about looking for love, it is very much single and available please hit me up Teacher please /j
