"How does it feel to be all tied up, huh?" Henchman taunted the Whumpee, who was bound to a chair.
Whumpee simply glared, not giving any response to their hated enemy. If they said anything, it would make things worse for them. Worse for Caretaker.
"What's the matter?" Henchman laughed, "Cat got your tongue?" They turned to their boss, who was checking around the warehouse they brought Whumpee to. Checking that their team was ready to ambush Caretaker when they arrived. "So, boss. When do you think Caretaker's gonna come?"
"They'll come at any moment now," Whumper chuckled, turning their attention to Henchman and their captive. "I already sent the message that we have their sweet little Whumpee, and once they arrive, they're in for a little surprise."
"Caretaker won't fall for this, you know," Whumpee growled, their glare saturated with hate. Their voice was quivering, yes, but they had to stay strong. "They're not stupid. You bastards will never catch them. Never."
"Well, don't you talk big!" Henchman chortled. "You do realize the situation you're in? And you do know that you're at our mercy, right?"
"It's true that I got myself into this mess..." Whumpee sighed, a tinge of guilt hitting them. If they were stronger, faster, they wouldn't be used as bait for their closest companion. But there was nothing they could do now. "But Caretaker's different. You'll never get them using me. It'll never happen."
Whumper chuckled, approaching them. They grabbed their cheeks, squishing them with a vice-like grip as they spoke, "Then we'll have to see when Caretaker indeed comes. They already saw the message and the photo. I'm sure they'll come for you eventually."
They released their grip before turning to their team, ordering them to stay in position, to keep their weapons pointed at the door that Caretaker would eventually go through.
Whumpee gulped. They pulled against the ropes holding them to the chair, as their stomach dropped at the mere idea of Caretaker getting killed by these villains.
But there was nothing they could do to stop this. They had no choice but to sit there and wait till Caretaker arrived.
Hopefully, they brought backup and had a plan...

Aftermath
Direct follow up to Car Chase.
CW | death mention, setting broken bones, smoking
They shook their head, trying to blink the darkness from their vision. They looked around and...
...shit. Jameston was definitely dead.
Their limbs were sluggish and battered, head throbbing in pain. But they managed to unclip their seatbelt, and their body crumpled into the destroyed ceiling of the SUV.
They let out a single groan of pain.
Bloody fingers fumbled for the door handle, but they couldn't wedge the door open. They silently cursed God—they were so sick of the bastard putting them through this shit—then changed tactic.
They gingerly kicked the worst of the glass out of what was left of the window, and crawled out amongst the tinkling of shards and sound of horns and tires.
It took all their strength to get to their feet.
Then they straightened their back, cracked their neck, and tried to breathe through the pain as their broken arm, their mangled fingers crunched and snapped back into place.
They closed their eyes for a single moment, taking a breath, then they began to limp for the cement road barrier. Each step became more fluid than the last as the shattered bones of their left leg fitted back into place, until they were striding for the side of the road like walking down the sidewalk.
Icy blue eyes flashed the direction their quarry had disappeared in. They glanced down and brushed beads of glass off their clothing, before fumbling around in their pocket for a cigarette.
Their lighter sparked once, twice, as the dented metal tried to light, cradling it close to their face. Their cigarette caught, and they tilted their head back with a sigh.
Then they turned, let out a single breath of smoke, and threw the lit cigarette back toward what was left of the SUV. It bounced, rolled.
Fwoom.
They didn't bother to look back as the vehicle caught, straightening their suit jacket. They just turned back the direction of their prey, and started walking as orange lit behind them.

Sidekick Whumpee x Hero Whumper
omggg this took way too long to post dghjdkhdh but i present to you a lil comfort.... a lil.... a smidge.... listen i suck at writing comfort- Masterlist / previous CW: death of a character (hehe- whooopss....) / thats it mostly, sidekicks a lil shaken but nothing too much else! ___ from the last piece: They slowly made their way to the kitchen. Henchman lay on the couch of the sitting room, “Hey, Henchman, can I get you anything? ….no response… “Henchman?” …silence… Villain’s heartbeat picked up. They quickly rushed to the sitting room, “Bloody Hell!!!!!” Villain yelped at the sight in front of them.
--- Henchman lay on the couch, their hoodie zipped wide open, revealing their blood-stained t-shirt. Their eyes slowly cracked open and they heaved a breath, “Oh, h-hey, Villaiinnnn.”
“Henchman.. Wh-what the fuck…”
“Whats- oh, aha… oo-oops.. S-sorry, i didn't want you t-to see…”
Villain took a deep breath and rushed over to Henchman. They were practically lost for words. Their brain froze from panic. “H-henchman… why…why didn't you tell me?!”
“Did- didn't wanna slow you down.”
Villain shook their head and knelt beside Henchman, “Fuck- this- this is serious, Henchman! I-I need to get Medic, I-” Henchman took their hand before Villain left and shook their head, “Come on n-now, we both know wh-what's going to happen here.”
“Nonononono, I can't let this happen, Henchman, please!” Henchman gently wiped the tears from Villain’s face with a weak smile, “I need you to do something, Villain, take good care of S-Sidekick, and get the revenge we all d-deserve.” Villain nodded, unable to speak from choked, held back tears.
“I- We’ll get our revenge, I promise you Henchman, we will not let you down.”
Henchman smiled gently, as if everything was fine.. as if… they were in…. peace? Villain could feel the hand on their face gently loosen and their heart sped up, “Henchman, no, please, I need you!!!”
Henchman took uneven breaths, “I sa-saved you, i-it's your turn t-to save Si-Sidekick.” Villain hugged them tightly, ensuring to mind the wounds, “Thank you Henchman, thank you for everything.” The uneven rising and falling of Henchman’s chest slowly came to a stop and Villain let out a sob.
Sidekick gasped and tried to sit up but a gentle hand pushed them down, “Hey, hey, hey, shhhh, you're okay, you're okay. I need you to lie still for a moment, okay? You're in Villain’s place.”
Sidekick’s eyes widened, “H-Hero, th-they - they're- they’re going to be s-so mad…. They-they-”
“Shhhhh, don't be thinking about that right now. That's in Villain’s hands now, not yours.”
There was a gentle knock on the door. “Villain, hi!” Villain smiled weakly, slowly making their way over to Sidekick’s bed. “H-hey Medic!” They pulled a stool over and sat by Sidekick’s side, “Hey, bud, how are you holding up?”
Sidekick, not wanting to seem weak, lied, “‘m o-okay!” Villain smiled, “Good, good! Uhm, Medic, can I have a word with you outside for a moment?” Medic’s eyebrows furrowed but they nodded quickly, seeing Villain’s tear-filled eyes, “Y-yeah, of course! Sidekick, will you be okay for a moment?” Sidekick forced a smile and nodded, “C-course!”
Villain quickly left and Henchman soon followed. “Hey, what’s up?” Henchman’s soft, gentle voice hit Villain’s heart like an arrow going right through it, they broke down, falling to the floor, covering their face in their arms as they sobbed.
Henchman quickly rushed to close the door of the room Sidekick was in and ran to cradle Villain who sobbed into their chest. “Hey, hey, it's alright, what's wrong?” Villain’s body shook with every sob as they shook their head, “A-all my f-fault-” They sobbed. “Villain, without even knowing the context, I bet that's not true.” They hugged Villain tightly as Villain clutched onto them, desperate for comfort.
When Villain’s sobs had calmed, they let out a shaky breath, “H-henchman…. they- they’re dead, they’re gone, it's all my fault!” Villain began sobbing again and Medic held them tightly, no words.
After a moment, Medic spoke, “Villain, I’m so so sorry. This isn’t your fault at all, you hear me?” Villain shook their head quickly. “Villain, it's not your fault. None of this is. You are the nicest person I know, you are so caring, look at everything you’ve gone through just to save Sidekick! Please Villain, this isn't your fault one bit….. okay?” Villain stayed still for a moment before nodding slowly, “Th-thank you.”
Sidekick stared at the wall in front of them. They heard everything. It was all their fault.
