they’re a good pair, they compliment each other: benny’s good w/ a gun, jupiter prefers melee weapons, benny has Horrible fashion sense, jupiter well Doesn’t lmao

they’re happy in this au and nothing hurts, no, not really

the fact they actually get married and have kids?? and kinda enforce-ish the law in vegas on certain points?? 

What makes me sad about them:

in the actual canon of mine, jupiter crucifies him, then burns him alive w/ his own lighter. that makes me Incredibly sad

they get married after benny crawls back to vegas, have three kids (dack, tiber, and callisto), run the lucky 38, and play cards at the table until they fall asleep on each other’s shoulders, dance at the tops until either of them starts kissing the other and doesn’t stop, generally just being a Happiedly Married Badass Duo!!

How I feel about this character:

joshua graham is one of the most interesting characters in a game that’s filled with interesting characters- his faults and failures are as human as they get, and the fact that he faces the challenge of comfortably slipping back into legate-mode is incredibly real. also, his ass looks nice in tight jeans and that voice has probably made a many good people’s hearts thud a little faster.

All the people I ship romantically with this character:

edward sallow/caesar (mainly!), @squeakinghiccups‘ oc, sheila o’kelly, and our shared baby, alexis, also courier six and a very tiny part of follows-chalk and ulysses

My non-romantic OTP for this character:

again, @squeakinghiccups‘s oc, vale, and daniel, but also courier six (you see my dilemma) 

My unpopular opinion about this character:

he’s much more than what we reduce him to- tight jeans, bible jokes, good voice, bandages. he’s also struggling w/ who he is, especially during hh. as legate, he did many inexcusable things: the assimilation of tribes, the rape and slavery of women, the torture of those who tend to fall into the ‘degenerate/profligate’ category, the torture and brainwash of boys who would become the next generation of legion, so on and so forth. people tend to forget that as legate, he didn’t just train troops and stand next to caesar, chest puffed and everything. to be honest, joshua isn’t the best person. he’s wise, he’s hardy, but to call him a rolemodel, especially when the courier themselves has more or less a pivotal role in his further development (ie. the ending of hh and what happens to joshua as a result), isn’t something i would do, despite how much i may love (and, sometimes, romanticize) him.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:

joshua just grows old peacefully. just an old man w/ bandages and a swat vest, a lot happier than he is now. the weight of his sins still weighs heavily on his shoulders, but it’s okay. he’ll pay those fines when they’re due. right now, the sun is shining, there are children playing outside, children who have no reason to fear this already harsh world, and he doesn’t need to reload and load guns as if they’re the only thing that keeps his hands busy anymore.
