Hiii! I'd love love love it you hear you ramble on anything Devils related! But for a specific question, I'd love to know about Sigrun and her father, what was their relationship like?
Hope you're having a good day 🥰
Hi! Thank you thank you, I'm having a great day now that I've gotten this message! I hope you're having a good day, too!
cw: period typical racism (prohibition era), violence, murder
Sigrun's father was named Ahren, and he became the family boss before Sigrun was born. When her grandfather died, he specified that Ahren take over. There was some infighting for a while but Ahren put that to a pretty quick stop, because he was ruthless and his judgement was swift. He proved that might makes right in their family.
Sigrun is half-Black, white on her father's side and Black on her mother's. Her parents never married, and Sigrun didn't know her mother all that well, because she died when Sigrun was five. So she has some vague memories, but nothing super sentimental. Because of that, and the fact that Sigrun is an only child, Ahren was very present in her life, almost overbearingly so. Sigrun was twelve when she held a gun for the first time, fifteen the first time she killed someone.
While Ahren was ruthless with his enemies, and even his brothers, he always had a soft spot for the kids--not just Sigrun, but her whole generation. While he was ruthless, he was not cruel, and with his daughter and nieces and nephews he was very kind. There were a lot of gifts and outings and lots of physical affection. Ahren was the favorite uncle, legitimately, not just because he was the one with the most power, but because he was present, and because he cared.
Sigrun was an outcast with her aunts and uncles, because of being mixed-race (this takes place during Prohibition, remember). They wanted her shuffled off and hidden, a dirty little family secret. But Ahren loved Sigrun more than anything or anyone else in the world, and while it was hard when her mother was alive, once she died it was even harder on Sigrun, because her family was all old rich white guys or meek, mousy housewives (again, all white). She did not go to school because things were still segregated at the time this takes place. Instead, Ahren hired tutors for her so she could be sure to get a good education. She stopped classes when she was fourteen, but she needed to know what school had to teach her, especially numbers. But it was more specialized so it was more relevant to her eventual job in the family.
From the get go, Ahren wanted Sigrun involved in the business. He wasn't perfect and he had his prejudices, but he was relatively progressive for his time, and saw Sigrun as his child and legacy before he saw her as a little girl. He knew she would have to work ten times as hard as the others, for less than half the respect. So he taught her to be strong, solid, smart, and to take no shit.
Sigrun was there the night her father died. She, Ahren, Milo, Wolfgang, and Ulrich were all there, on what was supposed to be a standard truck-jacking. Everything was quiet and smooth until a shot rang out and Ahren went down with a bullet to the shoulder. A second shot in his head and he was dead.
In between the two shots, he was quick enough to manage to yell to Milo to get Sigrun out of there. Milo's an asshole but he's loyal, and Ahren knew if anyone here would be able to get her to safety, it was him. Sigrun tried to get to her father but Milo knocked her out with a pressure point for just long enough to throw her in the backseat of the car and speed out of there before she came to.
From the first shot to Sigrun and Milo's escape, it was all over in less than thirty seconds.

alrighty @scottspack here i am to show my ass
top 10 ships tag! these aren’t “in order” but #1 is #1
1. cory and topanga! (boy meets world) my very first thought when given this prompt, theyre the blueprint! they are just BABIEs when they meet and they already Know each other. i will not pretend that topanga didnt shape me into the kind of girl who wouldnt change one thing about herself for a boy, keep your legs hairy and your convictions strong! the way they grow together is enough to make me hate god for not giving ME a cory matthews. high school ski trip infidelity aside, theyre the first couple that made me think i could find a man. i was wrong but its nice to think about.
2. kim possible and ron stoppable... the way the entire series is about kim being a wildly competent type A cheerleader AND teenage vigilante super spy and ron is her chilled out lame best friend who is Always there to help her save the day... please take a moment to listen to the jesse mccartney song why don’t you kiss her? that plays during the romantic climax of the kim possible movie, perfectly capturing the intense fear that comes with thinking about maybe finally kissing your best friend from preschool at your junior prom.
3. tami and coach eric taylor (friday night lights) ...come on, y’all!!!! genuinely the most real relationship i have ever seen on screen. i don’t even know what to say other than that they are REAL. coach and tami are such a good couple that it doesn’t make any sense to me that their kid would have such a massive stick up her ass. i even tried an ‘empathize with julie’ rewatch, and while a lot of her teen angst is understandable and even relatable, she still seems so disconnected from her parents/dillon at the end of the show in a very unsatisfying way! coach and tami are the heart of fnl. and tim riggins.
4. belly conklin and conrad fisher (the summer i turned pretty trilogy by jenny han) bro.... when your mother’s dying wish is for you to care for your little brother, so when he has a little crush on the girl you are In Love With you bury your feelings and go to college far away because nothing is more important than their happiness, and they could be happy together! and years go by and theyre going to get married and youre set on being Happy For Them until you find out how much your brother has actually done to break her heart and her trust and then the thought of her settling for him is even more devastating than your true desire for her to settle for you.... WHEW! when you’ve been busy coming of age and trying to make it work with your best friend that isnt really right for you and then you find out his brother who you’ve been in love with your whole life turned into a distant asshole because the most important person in yalls lives taught him to be selfless and he over-corrected in his grief... BOY!! this one makes me feel like my heart is in my stomach.
5. SENSE8! can i just say all of it? everything and everyone? if you are bisexual and havent watched sense8 yet, this one is for us, baby! the ship is an interconnected web of LOVE AND TRUST. the pairings are endless. if i HAD to choose my fav, wolfgang and kala (and rajan <3) and i cant explain why i would pick them over anyone else, thats just what my pussy told me. but frankly i shouldnt have to choose, THEY ALL SHARE ONE CONSCIOUSNESS! ONE LOVE!
6. david and patrick (schitt’s creek) you know the way we all feel like we aren’t enough and we’re Way Too Much.. dan levy really said hey guys? no offense but i think we might be capable of loving and even maybe Being Loved. the way patrick is all in on david rose from the moment he meets him, before he can even consider what that means about himself... the way they push each other out of their comfort zones and only get more comfortable with themselves and each other..  the way david’s abstract monochrome wardrobe fills with HEARTS AND RAINBOWS !!!!!! again, where’s my man? ANYWAYS,
7. todd and rory (straight up) anna said this post is for romantic ships only and so I CAN AND WILL INCLUDE THEM. i don’t want to give any spoilers because i dont think tumblr has seen this yet, but when i say this is THE romcom of the year, perhaps of my life, trust!! todd is a gay man with a sex aversion who decides to try to date women and rory is the brilliant woman he actually falls in love with. sometimes soulmates dont fuck!!! maybe there are no rules to a good relationship besides mutual respect, understanding, and the undeniable desire to Be Together. i rest my case!
8. drew barrymore and adam sandler  is this valid? again i dont know or care. i grew up on adam sandler movies and drew barrymore makes him better every time. they’ve only done 3 movies together, one of which i have not and will not see (2014 is just too cursed to return to) but even tho these two have never been a couple in real life their chemistry is so palpable that they consider each other the person they will grow old with on screen. if that’s not hollywood romance, i dont know what is! sorry to timothy olyphant but even drew says adam is The One.
9. stef and lena adams-foster (the fosters) MOM AND MOMMA! listen, abc family shows are insane, but stef and lena make the drama worthwhile. their house full of teens is not perfect or easy, but never have i ever seen lesbian moms at the center of any media, let alone ones who thrive like they do when they communicate, support each other, and lead with love. this is a couple who chooses each other and their babies over and over again. its about putting in the work, having the tough conversations, and making the hard decisions because you care!!!!!
10.  I DONT KNOW HOW TO END THIS, I LOVE LOVE! michael and alex! marshall and lily! steve and nancy AND jonathan! lizzie mcguire and gordo! rachel and griffin mcelroy! nick and jess! schmidt and cece! fleabag and the priest! amy pond and rory! river song and the doctor! ROSE and the doctor! MY MOM AND DAD!!!! mickey and ian! han and leia! johnny and gheorghe! princess bubblegum and marceline the vampire queen! jackie and kelso! jackie and HYDE! donna and eric! kitty and red! richie and eddie! jake and amy! brittany and santana! tim and tyra! JACK AND ENNIS! dj and steve! uncle jesse and aunt becky! aziraphale and crowley! bob and linda belcher! LARRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Moby - Destroyed (2011)
I knew Moby from his music (HERE and HERE) and was surprised when I realised he was also a photographer. I chose to work on his work because I wanted to explore the links between music and photography.
I enjoy writing, painting and photography and music definitely helps me with creating, reflecting and focusing when I work.
About him:
Childhood:
His real name is Richard Melville Hall but because it was quite for a baby, his dad gave him this surname, Moby. He also thought that somehow, his family was related to  Richard Melville Hall (who wrote Moby-dick).
Tumblr media
Music path:
Moby was born in the neighborhood of Harlem in Manhattan , NYC, in 1965. Family wise, his dad died when he was very young. After that, his mum really struggled with money but she taught him to play the piano and he also started to learn classical guitare at the age of 9. He also studied jazz, music theory, and percussion. He seemed to have been into Punk, and harcore music (which is somehow surprising but not so much with is later interest into Meditation?)
Later on, when he went to uni (in Connecticut and NYC), he moved to electronic music, DJed in clubs and bars. He eventually gave up on studying to focus on his musical career.
From Philosophy to Spiritual Life:
He studied Philosophy at uni and adopted different faith all throughout his life (Christian, Agnostic, Atheist) but does not see himself as a Christian.                 In 2019, Moby said “my life is geared towards God [...] I have no idea who or what God might be."(1)
He is also an animal right activist and became vegan at a very young age (he used to rescue animals and decided he’d never do anything to hurt them).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Photography:
Photographer?
Although he started to develop a strong interest for photography at the age of 10 (when he was offered a camera by his uncle), he kept most of his photography private until the release of his photography book in 2011. It contains pictures that were taken during the Wait for Me tour in 2010 named Destroyed.  From October to December 2014, Moby showcased his Innocents collection of large-scale photographs at the Fremin Gallery.
“It’s taken me 36 years to feel comfortable putting pictures out into the world,” he says. (2) Although he finds it hard to call himself a photographer, many photographers such as  Wolfgang Tillmans and Edward Steichen have influenced him in his career.
Destroyed (2011)
The name of the show comes from a photograph Moby took in La Guardia Airport. He saw an electronic sign in an empty hallway that read “Unattended luggage will be destroyed,” but the sign was only big enough to display one line of text at a time. The word “destroyed” is contradictory to the stark, clean hallway — one of the many contrasts Moby’s photos revel in. Throughout the show, photos of lonely hallways and uniform hotel beds are juxtaposed with stage-view photos of screaming fans, which look the same whether they’re in Brussels or Brisbane. The solitude is just as interchangeable.

Links between Photography and Music:
Moby says that for him, photography and music have little in common:
“The methodology, the way in which the work is created, are so different,” he said. “I work on a piece of music for months and months, and taking a picture is taking this quick, spontaneous action. That’s why I love photography — because the approach is so different [from] music.”
However, after listening to the full album and looking at his photography album, I found that loneliness (perhaps, wander or travelling) are very important. His photography album was really about him touring and the kind of life one has when not having a place to call home.
The photos are as much a documentation of Moby’s journey as an examination of non-places, that is places of transience that look the same no matter where they are. Every hotel suite is familiar and alien at the same time.
As much as I loved his Destroyed album (both music and photography), I found it challenging to be projected in his life, a life of solitude. And it made me think a lot about how I see loneliness: do I like it? does it scare me? At the very back of his photography book, Moby has left a few comments on each picture he has put in his book and I found that my reaction when looking at his pictures the first time as really different from his own perspective on his own picture.
One thing that I can say is that Moby, just like when I heard his music the first time, and opened his photography album, has managed to take me into his world and give me a powerful overview of his life and his personality (or at least what he wants me to think of him). That’s magic :)

After Wolfgang moved in with his uncle, he would walk back and forth to school, not liking the big cars that drew a lot of attention. On his journey there was an elderly lady who would sit in front of her house and give him sweets or pastries. Sometimes he would sit with her and they would talk. When some neighborhood kids had egged her house several times, he immediately found them and taught them a lesson. He claimed that he had nothing to do with it, but the older lady had given him an ice pack along with some cake she had just baked and a smile.

Theodore’s Family: Part 1—Theodora Nott, née Bruggen
Theodora Nott, née Bruggen, is a German pureblood witch from Bremen who went to a wizarding school in the south of Germany.
Born on the 10th August 1941, she is the second of three children to Heinrich and Frieda Bruggen. Her brother Wolfgang is four years older, her sister Charlotte is two years younger than her. She has, on top of that, a bunch of aunts and uncles and therefore several cousins who all lived in about the same area.
The three children were raised in a rather unique way. Tutored by their mother from a very young age on, they mainly focused on foreign languages at first. They had to learn English and French, and it was only when they were able to communicate fluently in those languages that Frieda Bruggen started teaching the things the children were truly interested in.
Theodora learned a lot about the theory behind magic and her mother also made sure to teach her all about herbology that she knew. Plants were exactly what Theodora ended up being the most interested in, and years later, she would become a talented potioneer thanks to this tutoring.
More importantly, however, Theodora and her siblings were raised to be kind, caring and as tolerant and accepting as they could possibly be. While the Bruggens were proud of their pure blood, they raised their children to see everyone as equal, and even though they genuinely believe there is something about pure blood that is special somehow, it is rarely found in their family to judge people based on their blood status.
Once at school, Theodora soon had the reputation of being incredibly clever and observant, capable of making connections between pretty much anything if there was a connection to find. At the same time, however, she was also rather well known for her poor health. She had a weak immune system, which had already caused her troubles back when she’d been younger, but now that she went to a school, there were far less opportunities for her to postpone studying or attending classes, which only resulted in her falling sick quite often.
It was for this reason that she decided to go travel after she’d finished school, convinced that it would be less stressful since there’d be no pressure at all; she could go wherever she wanted and could stay for as long as she wanted. Her brother Wolfgang came to join her every now and then.
It was during one of these travels that she met William Nott, the man who would soon become her husband.
They were truly in love, and maybe that was why Theodora didn’t realise just how far her husband was willing to go; maybe that was also why William never considered that his wife might not agree with his ideals.
Pretending not to hate her husband’s choice to follow the Dark Lord must have been the hardest role she’d ever had to play, and she often found herself wondering whether she could have known somehow. Nonetheless, she still loved him for the wonderful husband that he was to her, and she never questioned his choices at home.
Despite her weak immune system, Theodora agreed to attempt having children, for the very simple reason that it was important to her husband. Theodora herself would have been just as happy adopting a child, but William insisted on biological children. What Theodora did not know was the fact that all William cared about was a son who’d carry on the bloodline.
Her constant illnesses and the stress added by the Dark Lord himself made it a lot harder for her to get pregnant in the first place, almost as if her body was trying to tell her that it was not the right time. Soon enough, they paid a visit to St. Mungo’s, where they were given a potion that was supposed to help a little. It still took several years until Theodora’s body agreed with what they’d decided, and she was 38 years old by the time her only child was born.
Theodora was delighted to have a child of her own; William was delighted to have the son he wanted and decided to name him after the woman who had given birth to him—Theodore.
She spent over a year hiding, claiming that she needed to rest and take care of her baby when in reality, it frightened her that it appeared as if the Dark Lord would win this war. She hoped beyond hope that something or someone would stop him, and when a little baby did just that, Theodora was relieved in a way she would have never expected.
She got to exhale, and she decided to try and raise her son the way she had been raised all these years ago. It wasn’t easy, since her husband was determined to raise Theodore in the only way that appeared right to him. It had to be hard for this little boy, to constantly be torn between these two world views, and Theodora ultimately decided to raise her son to think for himself. She taught him the importance of observing and connecting the things that he saw, to question the things he’d always heard and to not be afraid of making up his mind.
She was more than terrified when the Dark Lord returned. She was so terrified, in fact, that her falling sick was a lot worse and it seemed impossible for her to recover.
The last thing on her mind before she passed away was the guilt she felt for not being able to protect her son.

Message
Rajesh, I'm sorry this took so long but I don't have a computer at home and had to wait until I went to my grandmother's house. I just want everyone to know that he is the most amazing teacher ever, and he is always patient and he never yells. He is very easy going and he reminds me of a wise old man although he is not old, he always shares and doesn't tell you what you want to hear and also tells you about the dangers of driving. Still to this day, my parents have not let me drive but I'm sure once they finally do they will be suprised at my calm dismeanor that was made calmer with Rajesh Patel. Thank you so much and to anyone reading this I reccomend him, because you will not go wrong.

Submitted by Comments: Name: Daniel F. From: Piscataway NJ E-mail: [email protected] I had a great instructor who was very kind and made the learning process very easy. After the first hour of the first day I felt almost at home behind the wheel. In the next two days that feeling was intensified and my driving skills improved drastically from the first day. The simplistic formula's for things like K-turns and parallel parking make it easy to remember and effective. While there is always room for improvement, I feel safe and confident with my driving skills. Thank you Jitendra, for making my vision to drive come true. ___________________________________________________________ Submitted on: February 25, 2008 3:21 PM Name: Nisarg Chokshi Email Address: Web site URL: Comments: I was very nervous when i first hold the steering of the car on the first with Jitendra uncle.. but slowly as the time went by he taught me a lot of lessons interestingly, theoretically and practically. My third lesson was with Rajesh Patel, a wonderful personality and a great teacher. He is cool and does not leave any stone unturned before the test. They really teach what they preach... The articles which he has posted in his website helps a lot.I would recommend read it once and visualize it when he repeats.I was surprised i learn so much more than I thought I would. Vision and motion is so important, how you handle the steering, there were instructions on how to take a left turn, when to turn ,when to hit the gas when not to. When and why to look in to the mirror. I felt very relaxed and was confident at the end of the class. I was not asked to pay till the end of the session. Every question of mine was answered. I was not rushed in to anything in fact I was given half an hour more than the time for which I had paid. Focus, be confident for all the people with Driving Phobia. A good Instructor is so important. He was on time, very polite, did not shout, very focused, and wanted to teach me everything he knew. If you are ready then pick up the phone call and see the difference believe me you will not regret. How did you hear about this site? Surprising but it is true. I had driving Phobia so i was looking for someone who can teach me to drive --- not just pass the test. I am so glad i found what i wanted just by clicking on the internet.
