"I should be getting a picture, but she's just too cute when she's sleeping... I can hardly look away. ... Maybe that's a new skill of hers?" Aya wondered. — to Meiling, from Aya (@vividmaru)
One may think that the face this gatekeeper makes whenever she’s sleeping on the job is cute enough to freeze someone in their tracks.
…One may also think that that’s the perfect time to sneak right past them, if they’re a fan of stealing in particular.
Whether it’s a skill of hers or not… Eh. It’s probably just the usual face she makes.

"Oh. You want to know about the vengeful spirits, do you? Then I would be happy to share it."
There was a beaming smile on Satori's face now. Finally, a chance to highlight just how important her and Orin's duties were.
"Vengeful spirits are the aftermath of what happens to those who suffer particularly horrific or painful ends. Generally they're still sentient but the level of mental faculties they have access to can vary. They're a little like ghosts. Most are kept here in the Underground but if you've ever encountered the Gensokyo citizens Mima or Tojiko, I do believe they're both vengeful spirits.
A vengeful spirit is quite dangerous. Capable of possessing both human or youkai, though youkai have magic defenses that make it a bit more difficult. They feed off of magical energy. The same form of energy that keeps a youkai alive and runs through our bodies. Which means if a Vengeful spirit hops into us when they hop out we'll be left significantly weakened ... that is if they don't kill us by consuming all of our energy.
Some vengeful spirits can even use the abilities of the person they're possessing. If one hopped into your body, they could zoom all over Gensokyo pursuing new victims. Very scary stuff.
Kasha, such as Orin, Anna, and young Fuwa, are significantly more resistant to the powers of vengeful spirits. As such they're able to keep them under control. On the other hand, I was given my position because my mind reading abilities allow me to prevent any escape plots among them.
Though, I should further clarify, just because they are dangerous and suffered a horrible fate in life does not mean all vengeful spirits are malicious or hostile. Many of those that dwell here are quite pleasant. One could even call them our allies. Yes we protect the outside world by keeping them here but we also protect them from outside threats. Orin and I both have many spirits among our conversation partners.
The most dangerous vengeful spirit is someone that must always be monitored, however. Miyadeguchi Mizuchi, the jailbreak king. Her special ability allows her to possess victims far easier than any other spirit. By placing her spirit within a liquid, she can possess anyone that consumes it. She's also very hostile towards youkai. Our number one prisoner without a doubt."
Finally, after minutes of expositing, Satori suddenly stopped to take a break. She may have gotten a bit overenthusiastic about proving that what she did was important. Realizing how embarrassing ranting like this was, she seemed to shrink up as she sunk into her chair from embarrassment.
"... So yes, that's what vengeful spirits are like."

Send ❓ and my muse will explain how they feel about yours.
“I don’t stray far from the mansion or the path to the human village much, so reading her articles about the current gossip around Gensokyo is quite informative.”

"You enjoy those video games from the Outside World, right? Sometimes I stumble across some music records from there... I wonder if you'd be interested in those!"

"You probably know much more about that stuff than I do." True, all she ever likes is anime OPs.

"Interview, Koishi? Any topic you want! (I'm dying here.)"
@vividmaru
"...You must be really desperate if you're asking me."
"Well, I heard something about Yukari having a divorce with someone else. That should be good for the news, I think. I didn't bother paying any real attention beyond that point."

"School newspaper reporter Aya here! What are your plans for the holiday break, Eri?"
@vividmaru
"Plans... holiday... break..."
This... is a complicated question. How is he supposed to answer that he has his concert as a VTuber, along with meetings and plans?! His identity is supposed to be kept a secret!
Think, Eri! Think!
"... Sleep?
EVEN THAT IS A LIE

"The rumors going around put you in the ring with a human boxer next weekend! Is there any truth to that?"
— @vividmaru
"I'm not quite what you're talking about, Miss Shameimaru? I don't fight humans often, they break easily. Unless we're talking about a youkai exterminator but are they even good at martial arts?"

Continued from here:
“I still really don’t appreciate being viewed like that, by the way! As for if I’ve done anything newsworthy...well, yeah! Of course I have! There was...um...”
Being eaten by another frog probably wasn’t going to be turning any heads, now that she thought about it. Hmm, maybe her new spell card ideas? No, no, those were supposed to be a surprise for her next real battle. Well...no, nothing was coming to mind. Well, that was a bummer.
*sigh* “No... nothing, really.”
“But still, it’s been super boring, today. Dai-chan and all the other fairies are busy or too tired to play, so I’ve just been sitting around the lake, the whole day. Say, if you’re not busy, do you think you can tell any stories about the things you’ve done? Like how you got the source or info for one of your really big papers?”

"I'm just your local friendly resident local newspaper reporter here, and today, we're reporting... the news."
"Well, I'm actually interviewing you, but first, you and definitely I deserve a drink."
@vividmaru
"If you're going to have a drink while you do such, then you should get something non alcoholic. You wouldn't want to be stumbling over your own words, or writing some misleading information that you can't recognize from the day."
Amber had a level of professionalism when it comes to being a Knight. Something that she holds in high regard, and wouldn't let anything slip up, or come across that way. She isn't afraid to let the idea of professionalism be heard either.
"But if you're after such, I can answer a few questions. What would you like to know?"

“How often do people call you ‘Sakura’ or ‘Sayaka’, aloud or in writing?”
(It seems like Tumblr’s been having trouble with posting images lately.)
“It’s happened only a few times that I can count. For the most part people don’t seem to have an issue with remembering how my name is said.”

"... brand recognition? Marketing! ... something along those lines."
"Anything to make people want to subscribe. How's that sound to you?"
— @vividmaru
"Miss Aya, I'd love to be hired, but I'm already busy with my own cafe! I wouldn't mind subscribing to your paper, though! Although, ah, I don't think I've seen any articles from you personally yet, I think-"
