Talking about Wadanohara, I got into it cause I watched ManlyBadassHero play the entire thing including all endings. His playlist is still up but I don’t really know anyone else who’s played it through since the creator requested no one else make anymore videos showing gameplay due to the controversy. I do recommend him tho, he’s pretty chill

Oh, he's the same guy I watched play Mogeko Castle! I should definitely check out his Wadanohara lp someday :) or at the very least read the manga? But I don't know if the manga has all the same dark content

From what I understand, the controversy around WatGBS was mostly from the uh, "assumption" that Waddacchi was a child, which makes her "relationship" with Sal really disturbing, but to be honest I think it's just the art style? Wadda's in-game character bio lists her at, if I remember correctly, either 165cm or 175cm, which is.... Very tall for a child, implying that Wadanohara is a grown adult. I mean, if anyone wanted to get angry, Mogeko Castle was way worse, as the protagonist was explicitly stated to be a high school girl, and the Mogeko creatures are outright said to "have a thing for high school girls", with that 'thing' being essentially a sexual fetish, and if I remember correctly the earliest possible death you can encounter is being surrounded and presumably assaulted by an entire mob of Mogeko. While I know nothing about it (and I mean NOTHING) I hear that The Gray Garden also has dark sexual content in it, but that's mostly just whispers I've seen here and there.

Now this isn't me saying people don't have a right to be upset at all, as whether she is an adult or not, what Wadanohara experiences is... deeply disturbing. You all know I like yandere stuff, but even the Bad Ending made me physically uncomfortable and even a little depressed. I honestly empathize a lot with Mogeko the creator, since they've made legitimately great games with engaging plots and characters and good gameplay, but the nature of the content is the kind that easily attracts negative attention. I definitely want to look more into their games and hopefully play more of them myself, and hopefully they aren't scared away from creating altogether
