hello! it's been a minute, huh? I'm so sorry it's been taking me so long to get things out. for those of you that have requested things, I am working on them, I promise. it's just taking me longer than I thought it would.
with that said, this one goes out to @verse2wo
Phantom's day wasn't great. He'd been dealing with assholes all day and wanting nothing more than to eat their souls, but being unable to. He may have let Mare have a go at them later, the siren needed to eat at some point.
He heads, not to his bedroom, where he's sure his bed and lovely boyfriend wait for him, but further down the hall. He wants to check on his brothers.
As far as Phantom had even been aware, Mare had been the demon’s only family. Then, three people came running into the bar one day, looking too much like the brothers to not be related somehow, and Phantom had never looked back. His three new brothers moved into the back rooms of the club and had been living there ever since.
Bones, the youngest, is half-demon. Wire, Bone's twin brother, is partially robotic. Paultin, second oldest of the brothers, likes alcohol and has sticky fingers.
Phantom slips into the recreation room, where his four brother had crashed after getting back from visiting some friends, and carefully looks around.
Bones is laying on the couch with three blankets covering him, in shades of dark blue, silver, and black. Wire was laying flat on his back on the floor, his hands folded over his stomach. Paultin was slumped against the couch, drink glass stil in hand, fully conked.
“They fell asleep halfway through the movie,” says a soft, melodic voice.
Phantom glances over to find Mare sitting cross-legged against the wall and tapping on his phone. “Worn out?” Phantom asks, moving closer to his brother and carefully sitting down.
Mare nods. He locks his phone, looking up at Phantom with tired brown eyes. “I don’t think they’re used to social situations,” the siren explains. “Luckily, the Theory boys are pretty tame compared to the rest of the families, so they’re a pretty solid starting point for new people.”
Phantom clearly remembers the Unus-Annus induction to the Families. The Theory boys had finally taken over about three hours into the tour. Anti Septic is no longer allowed to give the tour.
“I see,” Phantom replies. Then he frowns. “What are you still doing awake?” he asks.
Mare shrugs, eyes flashing purple for a split second. Phantom leaves it alone for now. Instead, he stands and holds out his hand. “Come on, brother. Let’s get to bed, hmm?”
Mare nods, taking Phantom’s hand. The pair join their brothers, Phantom in the chair and Mare curled up next to Wire on the floor.
Sleep comes easier when Phantom’s brothers are around to make the stress of the day fade away.
