“how dare you say we piss on the poor” is perhaps THEE best piece of vernacular to come out of tumblr dot com in the past decade. along with “what were you doing at the devils sacrament” (cheeky. inspired. relevant in every context) and “harold, they're lesbians” (timeless. funny as hell. gay)

I've been daydreaming a fun but complex $mütty, smut, smut scenario in my head about Tom Glynn-Carney, Matt Smith, Ewan Mitchell, Barry Keoghan, Jacob Elordi, Archie Madekwe, Pedro Pascal, Paul Mescal, Joseph Quinn, Jamie Campbell Bower, Joe Keery, Rory Culkin, Kieran Culkin, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Will Poulter, & Jeremy Allen White. I'll most definitely narrow it down to 3 or 5 of them per popularity and personal thirst/bias because I feel an odd number would be super spicy & dangerous.
Where reader is rich AF, smart, beautiful woman who just barely got into acting as a hobby & is in a show with the aforementioned hotties and they've just finished filming for the day, had dinner at a 4 star Michelin (hello Ebon, Jeremy, & Will baby! ((In no particular order))Yes Chef daddy...I mean chef..I mean daddy...daddy? DADDY 🫡👨‍🍳💦) and are all hammered when they've been told by production that the hotel rooms reserved for all (but reader) fell through.
Well lucky for them, ol' humble ass reader with her 32 room mansion (all rooms have en suite bathrooms, huge jacuzzi tubs *heh heh* and full-on kitchenettes) invites them all to stay at her place for the duration of filming since she lives so close and chaos and LOTS of pining, romance, and a SHIT TON of the smuttiest and nastiest (cause reader gets down like that and is a D/S switcheroni) sex ensues.
THE ONLY PROBLEM IS... not only do I anticipate that absolutely NO ONE, NILCH, NEMO, NADIE, NIEMAND, NESSUNO, لا احد will even come across, read, or gaf about this post....buttt I also have high expectations of that not a single soul would either be interested or read this fic that I highly anticipate will cost me my blood, sweat, tears, and first born...ya know, nbd.
However if I can get some traction and action on this post (to the tune of 20ish likes and 25% of the likes turned into comments (( 5ish comments to those mathematically challenged, tired, and deranged like I )) )within the next 48 hours (reblog, reblog, reblog my creatures!!!)then I will immediately throw a poll when the time is up to see who my the most fave few of my the above baby daddies have prevailed and made it into my coochie heaven.
In all seriousness, when it comes to me being biased about some of the men I'm trying sooo fucking hard to stop objectifying, I truly do want to get the most popular thrown into this mess however, I know more about some of these men than I do about anyone who is not listed. (Yes this a warning ⚠️ that this will be a RPF, so if that's not your thang, I apologize, but you have been warned) but I will absolutely do my research and take in ANY input given to me by my Champion.
I must say that Elspeth Catton (per Saltburn fame) had it wrong when she said men were dry, and it is my duty to prove her wrong because damn my skull is a hamster wheel and my mind is the hamster..?
Um anyways...those who reblog & interact the most with this post, will have their fave put in automatically because it's hard out in these Tumblr streets and I'd like to share my sexually drustrated (deprived & frustrated had nasty sex to create this creative word that has now become a part of my vernacular and the lovely locution I can't wait to share with my Fumblrs (Tumblr & Friends' bastard child) creative daydreams with as many people who have made it through this bible/, Novella (what a fucking lie, this is a full on Novel & y'all are so incredibly awesome if you have read this far at all!) of mine.
Additionally, I could only be so lucky for you all to spread your legs the word that I'm trying my hand at some filthy, sexy, envy-filled (among other things that will be filled) smut so it can be enjoyed by more because I myself have noticed a lack of RPF about a good handful of the men listed.
Anyways, I must thank you with every Fibre of my being for coming to my TED talk. No really, if you made it THIS far, I'm so grateful to you. I might extend my time limit to 72 hours to receive an overall verdict on whether I should move forward or not, but as far as time goes and how much I wish to put into this, I'd like to start ASAP.
I'd also like to assure you that the grammar, text-speak, and abbreviations will not be as disgustingly available as it was in this post (unless warranted. Hello sexting and texting), and I am very back and forth on whether I want this to be a love triangle or pentagon and honestly could go higher depending on who is chosen by my Champion. I also want to assure the future real MVP/G.O.A.T that whomever you choose will indeed have a lot of research and your input put into who they are for somewhat accuracy's sake.
In conclusion (I promise im really done this time), I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday and have a wonderful New Year!
EDIT: I have decided to include a poll with this post to help my fellow lurkers who aren't keen on commenting.
TLDR; I am wanting to create a smut fic including the above listed men and rich!reader who has taken up acting as a hobby. Production messed up the arrangement of their hotel for the duration of filming, and she invites everyone to stay at her insanely impressive mansion. Thus ensues a smutty love triangle, pentagon, nonagon, or whatever, and I'm just trying to see who is interested in reading something like this. I'm giving 48 hours (maybe a smidge more) time to determine if this is something anyone would be interested in, and this is what the poll is for. Those who reblog, comment, and interact the most will have their fave chosen (even if he, she, or they...[because I'm definitely pan and would love to add a girl, nonbin, or genderqueer actor in as well]..isn't listed). I also want to warn ⚠️ that this is an 18+ 🔞 RPG and assure you that grammar, research, and realism will be included.

Negative Self-Talk in Fandom
I’ve never liked self-deprecating humor because trying to figure out how to respond to someone using it makes me feel really awkward and uncomfortable. I also think that it’s a gateway toward normalizing negative self-talk.
In fandom, we know the terms “trash” and “clown,” and admittedly those are funny and overall they’re pretty harmless. (And they’re also interesting and fun examples of vernacular!) But I frequently see people openly disparaging themselves and their creations in their bios and posts and tags, and that never fails to disturb me.
I’d like to ask people in fandom--especially creators--to evaluate how they talk about themselves, and reconsider casually putting themselves down.
Here’s why:
Imagine you’re brand new to the fandom--maybe even new to fandom itself!--and you dive in, wide-eyed and enchanted. You’re seeing all this amazing content from people whose work you admire, and you’re inspired. You start to think that maybe you might want to write some fic yourself, or make some art, or learn how to do gifsets or fanvids. But some of your faves think their work is shitty. You think it’s awesome, and so do other people! But the talented person who made it thinks it’s shitty. So how on earth could your attempts ever be any good or worth sharing?
Speaking as someone who has depression, I am hesitant to follow or interact with people who use negative self-talk, because I work hard to safeguard my mental health. I want to see people’s creations and support creators, but if I’m also seeing negative self-talk pop up on my dash every time I visit Tumblr, or there it is in a bio every time I visit a person’s page, I’m going to take a step away from the person putting that out into the world even if I really like what they create. Also, I find it interesting that tagging for triggers is a commonly-accepted practice, but somehow negative self-talk doesn’t get scrutinized.
I mention this in another post I made about fandom but I’ll say it again here: the way we talk informs the way we think. Don’t let your head become a toxic waste dump! You also wouldn’t tolerate someone putting your friend down, so be your own friend and don’t allow it. Even if you think you’re only being self-deprecating, even if you only mean it casually. Also worth mentioning: disparaging yourself publicly opens you up to receiving reassurances from friends/anons, which can lead to reliance on external validation. Avoid going down that road.
There’s no rule that says that if you want to talk about your work or put it out into the world, you’ve got to put it down first. It doesn’t make you egotistical or self-absorbed to simply put your stuff out there without insulting yourself. It’s okay and understandable if you lack confidence; that’s pretty normal. But it’s also okay--and wonderful--to like and be proud of yourself and your own work!
So, people in fandom, let’s perpetuate warmth and positivity, rather than insecurity and negativity. I encourage you to re-examine your bios, your posts, and your tags. I encourage you to love yourselves--and what you make--a little more ❤️️
(The follow-up post.)

what are your favorite fics you read for every member? like the ones that resonated and left you a changed woman when you finished. could be because of characterization, or plot, or nostalgia, just the ones that come first and easy for every member, like, the iconic ones for you. can be mxm. i'm asking cause i just read worldwide lonesome and. damb. just. i kinda feel like i read seokjin’s diary or something? like it felt invasive just bc of how REAL he felt, you feel me? so. i'm curious about u
this is such a loaded ask because honestly, i had to think really deeply about this!! there are so many fics out there that have changed me as a writer and as a person in general that its hard to pick just seven... but i’m glad you mentioned worldwide lonesome because that fic is definitely!! fucking!! up there!! it might actually be my #1 seokjin fic, so you already got me there. but man... i put a lot of thought into my answer because my reading list is a never-ending pool of queerness and angstiness, as those tend to resonate the most deeply with me (since i am, after all, both queer and angsty HAHAH) so uhhh... here i go!! (also i apologize that these are mostly mxm... weirdly enough, i’m kind of more affected by those bc i relate more to them than reader inserts for some reason... the world is bombarded with hetero representation, so excuse me for clinging to my sole source of queer love lmao)
➤ for seokjin:
worldwide lonesome by loindexter [yoonjin] - i already mentioned it, but MAN... this fic left me stunned. the characterization of seokjin is what gets me the most, and by god, i am a SUCKER for coming out stories. as a closeted queer person, i’ve always wondered what other people’s experiences are with coming to terms with their sexuality, and op really hits the nail on the head. seokjin in this fic just feels... so real. like you said, it almost felt like i was looking into his diary!! it was maddening and tearjerking and oh so fucking human... you could feel his turmoil as if it were your own... and yoongi!! dear god, yoongi... that sweet fool... this fic just struck a cord with me because of how intimate and vulnerable it felt. i really hope i can write a fic like that in the future.
➤ for yoongi:
here comes the sun by fruitily [yoonkook] - this was unequivocally the hardest decision i’ve ever had to make in my life, mostly because i’ve read a plethora of yoongi fics in my day and it is quite literally so difficult to pin down a singular fic that changed me the most as a person. the reason i chose this certain fruitily fic (op will always be my biggest writing idol... if i could, i’d list down their entire masterlist as my favorite yoongi/jungkook fics of all time) because of the emotions it made me feel. there’s always something a bit sad about summer romances, and i’ve always been a sucker for that sort of trope because of the many possibilities you can do with it. it’s just... the way yoongi was portrayed here was just so darn REAL,,, you could almost physically feel his increasing want, his slow realization that yes, he does love the bucktoothed kid from summer camp. i absolutely adore the interactions he has with all the characters, because you can almost fool yourself into thinking he’s a real person. he’s a friend, and you’re watching him come to terms with what it means to love someone you only see once a year. dear lord i love that dude i’m gonna go cry now!!
(also bc i’m cheating but i also recommend the nights really were made for saying things you can't say tomorrow day by siderum... first yoonkook fic i ever read and dare i say it literally changed me as a person. there are no words.)
➤ for hoseok:
depaysement by 1honeypot (oilblotter/obiwrites) - okay i know this is fucked up for me to recommend a fic that doesn’t even exist on the internet anymore (op deleted her account on tumblr and has moved to ao3 but she’s never gonna reupload this fic again unfortunately) but MAN i still remember that fic to this day. it was so fucking GOOD and it made me realize the potential reader fics had that i never knew was possible. the entire plot was the usual make-over cliche (popular trendy girl makes the nerd hot yadah yadah yadah) that i had thought wouldn’t be interesting, but op managed to turn that trope into her own. it was hilarious, hot, moving, relatable... just ticking off every point that makes a fic great. i miss that fic so dearly and if you were some of the lucky few who managed to read it when it was still around... i think you all understand.
➤ for namjoon:
beta tau sigma by bazooka [namjin] - i cannot count the amount of times i’ve reread this fic. like, no joke, i probably memorize a few of the chapters from rereading it alone. holy fuck,,, as you can tell, i have a pattern when it comes to my fave fics and it’s all about: GAY PANIC THE MUSICAL!! yea... i just really like fics about self-discovery because MAN as a young adult traversing the mysteries of human nature and sexuality, i sincerely relate to namjoon in this fic. “am i gay, or am i just gay for my best friend?” is a question i have asked myself NUMEROUS times... dear god, namjoon is just a walking catastrophe and i!! could not!! relate!! more!! the plot flow and immersion you get from this fic is out of this world. you almost feel like you’re in the same frat as them!! i also love the way op made even the side characters have their own story arcs and backgrounds... they are what inspired me to give life to even the smallest of characters bc it just heightens the reading experience imo!! they really do feel like your friends in this fic, and this fic will always be my sources of comfort.
➤ for jimin:
darling, just say you’ll say by tusaisbts [yoonmin] - have i not sung this fic enough praises? i know it looks weird from the premise... cowboys? mail order brides? i thought it was odd at first too, but believe me when i say you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. jimin’s growth as a character here left me absolutely speechless!! i just love his development: from a scared stranger dropped off in the middle of nowhere to a smart and capable teacher who can hold his own in this small rural town. i especially love how he interacts with yoongi, because op really makes you want to root for them. you want them to fall in love, to make their relationship work out. that yearning for two characters to get together is something i want my own readers to feel, and there aren’t enough words in my vernacular to explain how happy i was when everything turned out well. and jfc... rancher yoongi? got me so fucking hot n bothered and now i will forever be enamored by the thought of rugged yoongi... jfc...
➤ for taehyung (& jimin!!):
mudlands & yellow acacia by nonheather [vmin] - i remember the day i read this like it was yesterday. i had a final to study for, but instead i read this entire thing in one go and then i cried my eyes out even until the moment i walked into my exam room. i don’t know how else to describe this other than it was otherworldly. it was cozy. it was heartbreaking and magical and downright lovely. i especially loved the way taehyung was here... so fucking whipped for park jimin. he loved like no other man could, and jimin might have been a little too bullheaded at first, but they make it out okay. i’m not really one to believe in soulmates, but this fic almost made me believe they could be. it made me yearn for the first time, and i think that counts for something. to love another person and to have them love you back... op made me believe in love.
➤ for jungkook:
years since you’ve been here by ameliabedelias [namkook] - okay maybe i’m just a crybaby and i cry at every fic under the sun but dear god this fic... might be The Fic That Changed Me As A Person. like, of course the other fics were mindblowing but this one in particular... wow. trampled all my expectations and caused a garden to bloom in my heart. jungkook is so sweet, so lost... he feels too much and he aches for namjoon. i know all too well that feeling of melancholy... when you love someone you’re not supposed to. coming of age stories will always have a soft spot in my heart, because i always tend to project myself onto the main characters. i want to grow and find my own destiny. i want to learn and be happy. jungkook finds his way, tumbles and trips the entire time, but he gets there. a symbol of queer triumph.

Guide to Fall Art and Writing Challenges
In my last post, I briefly mentioned some of the art and writing challenges that take place in the fall. From writing a short story every day to experimenting with different art mediums, here is a guide to fall art and writing challenges.
Continue reading on my website or below the cut.
Fall Art and Writing Challenges
There are so many to choose from! But first, I want to get something out of the way: Inktober.
The Controversy Around Inktober
For those who don’t know, Inktober is a hugely popular month-long challenge in October. Participating artists create an ink drawing every day to improve their skills with the medium. There is an official Inktober prompt list that you can either choose to follow or ignore. Even if you’re familiar with Inktober, you may not know that there is a current controversy wherein Alphonso Dunn alleges in a video posted on August 26, 2020, that Jake Parker, the creator of Inktober, plagiarized sections of his book Pen & Ink Drawing: A Simple Guide in Parker’s new book Inktober All Year Long. Here is Dunn’s Youtube video addressing the issue.
Parker’s book was due to be released in September 2020, but due to the accusations, his publisher has put the book on hold. Dunn’s book was released in 2015. Here is a detailed article from F News Magazine that covers the controversy in detail.
The controversy has been polarizing, and both artists have their supporters. It’s not just an issue of plagiarism, but race as well. Alphonso Dunn is a Black artist, and Jake Parker is white. If the allegations are founded, a white artist has stolen a black artist’s work and claimed it as his own.
If you plan to participate in Inktober, I encourage you to do your own research beforehand. For me, I will not participate until there is proof that plagiarism did not take place as the comparisons of the preview of Parker’s book are VERY suspicious.
Now that that’s out of the way, we’ll move on to art challenges that aren’t laden with controversy.
Brushtober
Brushtober is not a new concept, as there are mentions of the word on the internet for at least a decade. However, it has never officially been used for an art challenge until popular artist Lois Van Baarle announced that she was going to use the hashtag to test out various mediums that require brushes to apply. Her announced mediums include ink washes and ecoline, watercolor, acrylic, and gouache, with each medium assigned to one week in October. Other artists are already following suit, so I can see this evolving into a recurring event. You can find her work on many social media platforms including Instagram and Facebook.
OC-Tober
OC-Tober or OCtober is similar to the two above events in that the goal is to draw every day. Unlike the others, rather than focusing on a specific medium, the goal is to draw your own original characters every day. OC is common internet shorthand for original character. They can be characters from your own original work, or characters you created to participate in a fandom.
This is a more open-ended event, so if drawing isn’t your thing, you can also use it as a writing challenge to write about your characters. It is a popular event without a sole person running it, so there are a few prompt lists floating around. The goal is fun and to let people know about your characters, so you can be as simple or as detailed as you want.
Blacktober
Blacktober is a new event for and by Black artists. This event was co-created by Céli, a Dutch/Afro-Carribean artist living in Denmark, and Black Card Members community where Black artists re-imagine their favourite characters as black “in media where [they] are underrepresented.” The hashtag has exploded on Twitter and Tumblr, so be sure to follow it to see work by amazing artists.
A quote from Celi:
Blacktober is a month long exclusive event where Black creators get to turn their favorite characters into something that looks like them or draw their Black OCs using the official prompt list or their own! The event is meant to overall have fun by putting a fun, representative twist on their faves be it from anime, western cartoons, video games, and more!
@pianta
here is another Blacktober that you may not know about, hosted by Big Black Chapter. This event is for authors of colour and features 31 horror prompts for the month of October.
National Novel Writing Month
Now, October is not the only month in Fall, nor are artists the only creatives. National Novel Writing Month takes place in the month of November. Since that title is extremely long, participants often shorten it to NaNoWriMo or NaNo. The challenge is for writers around the world to write a novel in a month. The official NaNoWriMo site defines that as 50,000 words within the 30 days of November.
Unlike the other challenges on this list, NaNoWriMo has been around for decades. It began in 1999, but was officially established as a non-profit organization in 2006. It is by far one of the most popular challenges for writers, and has its own vernacular. “Kickoff” marks the start of NaNo on November 1, with many local groups holding events late on October 31st so that writing can begin right at midnight. A “Wrimo” is a NaNo participant. A “write in” is when participants from the same region get together to write. “TGIO” stands for Thank God It’s Over and marks the end of National Novel Writing Month on December 1st.
National Novel Writing Month can be brought into schools, and it even has a separate website for its younger participants, called the Young Writers Program.
The event doesn’t just take place in November. After a break in December, NaNo returns with the “Now what?” months of January and February where writers work on finishing and editing the project they started in November. Your first draft is never your best draft! Then there are also smaller events in April in July, called Camp NaNoWriMo, that are less official and where you can choose your own word goals.
Other Fall Art and Writing Challenges
This is not a comprehensive list by any means. September, October, and November are popular months for artistic challenges, and I’m sure there are dozens of community events that I haven’t even heard of! For example, I learned of Blocktober, an event for game developers/designers, while fact-checking this article. So if none of these are your jam, keep looking. Your thing is out there.
Which challenge is your favourite? What challenges did I leave out? Let me know down below!

I’m writing a multichapter johndave fic on ao3, it’s called “Dave is Not A Heterosexual” and it explores themes of coming to terms with sexuality, specifically being demisexual and experiencing same-gender attraction. Maybe try it out if that sounds like your thing?

HELLOOOO ANA, ESTEEMED OWNER OF ODELL THE OCTOPUS, BLESS YOU,
1. What is your favourite book and/or book series of all time?
Holy shit this is SO HARD… I’m going to try and sum it up as best as I can but Jasper Fforde has always been my longtime favourite, and I always go back to Shades of Grey: The Road to High Saffron (when is the sequel coming out? when???). Also adore Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein (it’s like one of the rare pre-20th century novels I like, but Shelley is incredibly intelligent and it’s a very complex novel), E.M. Forster’s A Room with a View (he is just incredible in general; I do love Maurice to bits as well but Room was the first of his I read and it just had such an impact on me), and my latest fave has got to be Mary Renault’s Fire from Heaven (it’s been a while since I’ve read a book which has had such a visceral effect on me, and it is one of the best examples of how to do historical fiction I’ve read).
5. What book or book series would you like to see turned into a film/ TV series?
Any of Jasper Fforde’s series would make excellent TV (The Last Dragonslayer recently got a TV movie though!). A Secret History show or filim would be interesting, but it would have to be done really well to really get across the critique of academic absorption and moral isolation, because even here on Tumblr I feel like that aspect of it often gets romanticised.
7. What is a book that you feel glad for not reading?
Moby Dick is the only one coming to mind right now… I mean I’ve never felt the compulsion to read it and no one has ever recommended it to me, but one of my former teachers who teaches English (but didn’t teach me English) said that it was horrible and sits on her shelf to mock her so I’m glad that I haven’t felt compelled to read it.
I mean from what I’ve heard it’s about some guy’s whale kink, and the guy is gay with some other dude, and there’s a lot of whale semen squeezing, and there’s racism.
Actually that reminds me of a slew of other books: Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad, anything by Ayn Rand, anything by Hemingway………….
9. What is a book you have read that is set in your country of birth?
OK this is going to sound terrible but I HAVE NOT READ ANY because I was born in Hong Kong. And most books set in Hong Kong are written in Chinese. And I can’t read Chinese. I mean there’s also the fact that I was born in colonial Hong Kong, and I definitely haven’t read anything set in that era.
So to transgress the books theme, I’m going to say that I have not read anything set in colonial Hong Kong, but I have watched quite a few movies by Wong Kar Wai which is probably just as well because they’re in Cantonese, so at least I’m consuming it in the vernacular?
*edit: I just remembered that Crazy Rich Asians has bits set in Hong Kong but it was a Shit Novel, also they said that the most comment accent with which English is spoken there is “British”, which is truly the marker of someone who has either never been to Hong Kong, or has no idea what a British accent sounds like.
10. What is a book that you own more than one copy of?
I ACTUALLY don’t own more than one copy of any books; there was a time when I had two copies of Lolita but I gifted one copy (the one I hadn’t annotated…lmao) to someone. I can’t collect editions; I don’t have enough money and my bookshelf is literally running out of space (the top shelf used to fully house all my childhood soft toys and now half of it is dictionaries and poetry, and I’ve had to reshuffle everything so many times because the books were creeping into my sketchbooks and it is kind of a mess).
17. What is your favourite book that contains an LGBTQ+ character?
FIRE FROM HEAVEN I’m just so obsessed right now this is all because of you Ana by the way, all my Renault-related yelling is to be blamed officially on you, but both of us know that that is nothing but a compliment because Renault is fantastic and Fire from Heaven is fantastic, there are no words I can use to describe the emotions I feel about this book, also I went through with little sticky notes to mark all the gay bits and there are many, many gay bits.
Anyway my favourite gay character in Fire from Heaven is Hephaistion, I love that there are so many from which I can choose, and I also just superbly relate to his interiority for some reason.
Can we also just note how general this question is, though? Like I could literally say Tacitus’ Annals of Imperial Rome because technically Nero marries two freedmen and Sporus was trans (maybe? idk actually. are you trans if the slightly insane princeps of Rome forces you to marry him because you apparently look like his dead wife and makes you wear dresses and makes everyone refer to you as a woman? we’re asking the Real Questions on gayusoctgayvius.tumblr.com).
