Thinking about the Ace Magical (Boys) AU still (and also the Spooky Attorneys AU and the Ace Sentai AU, but this is the one I’m talking about right now), and doing a little more mental detailing, just ‘cause it’s fun!

First off, actually came up with some names for our boys when transformed, so now we have Pink Sword, Blue Shield, and Yellow Brush. These are not the names that came with their transformations, the boys came up with them entirely on their own, because they’re nine in this and sometimes choices you make when you’re nine haunt you for the rest of your life.

Larry’s name confuses bystanders the most, because while Miles is pretty obviously offense to Phoenix’s defense, making ‘sword’ and ‘shield’ pretty obvious, most people don’t see healing/buffing/random and automatically think ‘artist.’ Though one of the random powers Larry has is to temporarily manifest objects, though nothing heavier than he can lift. It’s an ability that has the potential to be wildly useful in battle with a little thought, and he almost never uses it in battle beyond making a giant paintbrush to whack whoever he’s fighting with. One of the things he absolutely does when he’s in his twenties and finds out he still has his powers is transform specifically so he can create his own brushes and such in whatever size and shape he needs when he’s doing art. Miles and Phoenix both scold him over this one, but he Will Not Stop.

For the younger trio, Klavier is naturally purple, Apollo’s red, and Sebastian’s a royal blue, in contrast to Phoenix’s sky blue. Basically the new trio are in jewel tones and the original trio are in lighter, brighter colours. Phoenix is the first to hear about them and tells the other two to keep an eye out, maybe try and get in touch with the new kids to see if they can help them out a bit, tips, advice, first aid, whatever. Miles is the first one to actually encounter them, and this is also the event where he finds out he can still transform. Klavier and Sebastian are both in shock, because holy crap Pink Sword just showed up to help us and he got tall, and Apollo is just ‘oh thank the mother goddess, adult supervision!‘

Meanwhile Miles is in shock because 1) didn’t know he could do that and 2) the costume’s aged up with him a bit. It’s still fluffy, pink, and adorable, but it’s a bit fancier and cut to flatter a fully-grown body as opposed to one that’s still growing. He is immensely relieved to note that whatever designs these costumes leaves him in flats as opposed to added heals to his shoes, but also feeling more than a little bit weird about being a magical 22-year-old.

Side note, all magical transformation costumes have bike shorts under the skirt, regardless of sex, gender, or species of the wearer, because style and substance.

Also, while the enemies the boys are fighting didn’t see Miles transform... the new kids absolutely did, they know his scent, they’ve pack-bonded, he will never be rid of them.
