By the way, DE knew EXACTLY what they were doing putting Tagfer next to the Sanctum Anatomica's quest elevator. That shit was on purpose. It guarantees you always come in range of him if you're doing anything of note in the area, forcing you to listen to this poor little last-of-his-species space goat cry, and ruminate, and spiral about his dead mate. You are not allowed to avoid him, even if you don't talk directly to him.

I could probably sit here and write an essay on what this might be trying to say on the subject of how to properly navigate grief and depression in your loved ones, but it would probably be meandering and incoherent and I'm sure there's actual essayists in the fandom that can articulate the point better than me.

i still haven’t unlocked all of the grimoire lore pages because RNG hates me but i’ve read them (or rather. vik read them to me over call while i was doing tank maintenance. hehe) and ohhhh the implications are all so compelling but what gets me the most off the top of my head:

- tales of duviri was based on stories albrecht used to make up for euleria as a young child, complete with goofy character voices. he also somehow considers himself a complete failure of a father, despite all evidence pointing to the contrary.

- loid was not only fully aware of exactly what albrecht was trying to accomplish the whole time, but very much an active participant. he was the one who gave al the idea for the vessels. he knows exactly what was happening and was in fact an active enabler in most of his crazy science shenanigans

- albrecht came FRUSTRATINGLY CLOSE to actually finding the ‘correct’ answer to beating back the indifference when he was in duviri but basically ‘this sign won’t stop me because i can’t read’-ed right back out of it and decided that he alone was uniquely irredeemable and deserved to suffer for his mistakes and needed to continue digging this hole even deeper

- the reason bird 3 doesn’t have a proper name like fibonacci tagfer and minn is because he was literally just picked at random as an ‘expendable’ animal to balance out the diversity of the test subjects. he also considered kalymos a viable test animal, but couldn’t bring himself to potentially cause her any harm. he somehow finds a way to feel just as guilty about not potentially killing an animal as he is about killing countless other animals. this guy has ISSUES

- the vessels are made in part from tissue samples from arthur and aoi that he brought back to deimos

- he has been to 1999 and back several times before and interacted with arthur and aoi seemingly fairly extensively. they believe him to be a doctor trying to protect people from the technocyte plague, and he used this as a front to secretly start turning them into partial warframes.

- he basically became so consumed by the guilt of his cavia experiment being a failure that he decided his only option to redeem himself was to graduate to unwilling/unknowing human test subjects instead. 10/10 no notes keep up the good work 👍 this will only go well

Holy shit this poor little goat cat thing is so based he's going to kill Albrecht Entrati, he's going to kill Mr. Warframe, he's going to kill the man behind the slaughter. How little buddy? I love how we're all trying to find this guy so he can be reunited with his husband and Tagfer's the only one who read the lore and knows what kind of monster he is.

Okay but also how did the fucking fish kill his girlfriend? Like, the VA is really selling it but the dude is a fish. In a tank. In a tank. In a bowl. Are you telling me Albrecht installed special void-seal-blowing levers in the fish tank when he sent them into the void in that bell? Did he know they were going to be given intelligence after the exposure to the void? Did Every creature have a full button set? Or did he expect just a regular-ass fish to be able to operate void machinery like it was no big deal. What were you thinking, Albrecht?

Oh yeah also all the little guys on the team have a terminal void illness so Tagfer is on a revenge quest he doesn't even want to live he just wants to take Albrecht down with him. Not sure how but you go little guy.

My instinct is that the question is something like HAVE YOU SEEN THE TRUTH OF THE VOID, but that doesnt map exactly, but there are languages that drop articles and have weird word order. Who knows. I doubt DE has a full conlang for voidtongue.

FUCKKKK I'm so scared for her but still I'm relieved that she hasn't been shelved into the back of the cupboard narratively.

The saving grace tho, and my theory for future quests, relies on the following. 1) i think Tagfer may have mentioned that the Indifference feels lonely, leading me to believe we're gonna get a Power of Love plot with Wally where we try to become his friend 2) Loid and Albrecht's strong emotions of old man yaoi love were apparently what kept Wally from destroying the lab, so I'm hoping the strong feelings of love, care and compassion that the Operator/Drifter have for the Lotus and vice versa is gonna be plot relevant to ward Wally away

I'm so attached to this weirdo space family i CAN'T let the lotus be taken from us again
